Hi all, I just got back from a trip to Paris during Christmas last week. We were able to see the places listed below and foods we tried as well. Places we visited: Eiffel Tower (day and night): we were able to get tickets to go up the tower during sunset and was such an incredible view. However, it was so cold and windy up there that we couldn’t wait to go back down Seine River cruise: did this during sunset one day and wasn’t disappointed. It was still cold and windy but seeing the sunset behind the Eiffel Tower was amazing Saint chapel and notre dame: did this together since they’re so close to each other. We got tickets to go inside Saint Chappell and were the first ones in line at 9am. So nice to see the colored windows by ourselves and no one else in there. We unfortunately were not able to go inside notre dame Arc de triumph: we visited quickly since it was mainly outdoors and super cold out. They had a line to go inside, but we just took pics outside. The traffic circle outside of here was insane and it took forever to walk across to get to the arc Louvre: we had tickets to louvre on Christmas Eve and found out later they close early that day. So we had only about 3 hours to explore but we still hit the main attractions within that time. Crowds here were insane but it’s expected Tulleries Christmas market: so much to do here and is in a great location. When you get out of the metro station, you have a direct view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance and the market is right behind the station. We tried the raclette, churros, and some macaroons here. All tasted amazing! Galleries de Lafayette: we were staying at a hotel a couple blocks away from here and visited one night. Amazing window displays and Christmas decorations. Hey everyone! 👋 I'm currently visiting Paris for the holidays and I just had to share a little gem I found, especially for anyone else who is sick of those cheap "Made in China" plastic Eiffel Towers you see on every corner. 😅 I was wandering through the Christmas Market right next to the Cathedral (Square Viviani) checking out the decorations, and I stumbled upon this small artisan stall that just blew me away. There’s a woman there making these incredible bas-reliefs of Paris monuments out of plaster/marble powder, completely handmade right here. It feels like such a typically French art form, and you can tell everything is actually made in Paris. I couldn't resist buying the one of the Notre-Dame façade (check out pic 1, I held it up against the real cathedral for comparison haha!). The details are insane. It’s so delicate and such a nice change from the usual tacky fridge magnets. If you're looking for a last-minute gift or a souvenir that’s actually classy, definitely go check out her stand, it's called "Relief." Plus, seeing the cathedral looking so new again, it felt kind of emotional to take this little piece of architecture home with me. Anyway, I just wanted to support a local artisan because it’s so rare to find genuine "Made in Paris" stuff at an affordable price (I paid about 10 euros for the smaller models). Done with weaving tapestry based on Robert Delanay’s painting of the Eiffel Tower. Of course I still need to weave in ends and finish it off and get it off the loom. Some of the decorations are added on and in some places I corrected mistakes by weaving second layer over them. My wish list for Christmas includes resources to learn more embroidery because to me the two crafts are complimentary. This is a gift for my mom who is coming for Thanksgiving. I have noticed in countless photos that there were frilly architectural elements removed from atop the first-level observation deck of the Tower shortly after the Exposition, were these always intended to be temporary elements? Or did Paris simply modernize the Tower in the years after the original Exposition she was constructed for? My cousin pulled out one of his eyes when I was 10 and he’s missing an arm when my brother got mad at me and cut it off. It was sewn back on and then ripped off again. You get it. But he was mine. I found a button that was exactly like his from some bear at a Good Will and was going to sew it in his eye. I went to my room (we have separate bedrooms, I can decorate my space how I want and have my work space and the same for him but we always sleep together, I Just never had my own room and have only been living alone for 2 years so I want to keep that for a while) I went in there to do it and he wasn’t on my bed. I went scouring for him for hours and he watched me. I started to cry because that was the last thing she gave me and she made special for me. He finally told me he threw it away because it was disgusting and he hated coming in my room and seeing it. I got so mad and I felt so betrayed. He likes to spend time on legos and building them. He’s built the Eiffel Tower, the Harry Potter tower, a cherry blossom tree, and dozens of other. I went to his room and I destroyed them all. One is in the back of an office. I assume those can most likely be picked and/or opened in other ways. Fits perfectly into the new stealth system. ​ 3) Underwater weapon aiming is coming. So is directional swimming (you can swim backwards or to the side while aiming). ​ 4) Vehicles lean and move similar to GTA 4 when braking, turning or speeding up. Vehicle physics feel like a mix between GTA 4 and GTA 5. ​ 5) Walking around with an openly carried gun could be enough to already alert people. ​ 6) Public transport has those "Rate your ride" QR-codes. Given how advanced the player cellphones seem to be, we could be able to scan those. If that's also true, it hints towards a very expanded ingame internet. ​ 7) The Vice City Metro seems to have three lines, spanning over ~24 stations. Even different kind of train cars depending on the line: Light Blue stands for "Vice City Metro M(unreadable)" It seems to cover the Vice City central area. Dark Blue stands for "VCIA - Vice City International (unreadable (airport?))". It seems to cover one half of the city, maybe even leaves the city to some extent. There's also a yellow line. It goes the opposite way from the dark blue line, probably covering the other half of the city. There may also be a gray line which is a regional/international train. ​ 8) Obviously, all Rockstar studios are working together on this project. Found animation work from Rockstar North, Toronto, Dundee and India. ​ 9) Credit Cards called "Shark" seem to be a thing. Fleeca is also back, plus at least two more which I can't see well enough to name them. ​ 10) It's pretty clear what Jasons special ability will be: Marking things of importance during a robbery. I saw jewelry, a safe and a security camera being marked. ​ 11) You can buy gum from gumball machines. ​ 12) Found a mention of the USA and Canada on a sign and heard the "Eiffel Tower" being mentioned in a radio. Surprisingly many real world names. Nothing new in the GTA universe however. ​ 13) Wi-Fi hotspots. If it's not decoration only I can imagine there being such a system in the game. Fits well into the expanded cell phone/internet thing. ​ 14) If you commit a robbery, cops won't show up immediately. It takes time for them to be dispatched. If this counts for all kind of crimes and not only robberies, the Wi-Fi/cellphone signal thing could mean, rural crimes are less likely to be reported. Similar to the witness system in RDR2. Robberies and heists will now feel much more like actual robberies because of this. You can communicate with the cops or do cop-related actions as soon as they arrive. ​ 15) Excavators can possibly be driven! ​ 16) Shooting someone in the head could sometimes still make them move around in a gruesome and way too realistic way before they bleed out. ​ 17) Not only hotels, but also inns could be a place to stay at. ​ 18) Found an US, Canada and Mexico flag next to each other. They are next to the "Vice City Neighborhood Enhance(unreadable) Community Center". ​ 19) I seriously think the map will be bigger than we think. Here are the reasons: Mexico and Canada can be found being mentioned or displayed multiple times. Many hints towards a big water part of the map. Other people found out, that the map isn't very big by itself according to the W/E coordinates found in the leaks. That means there's a high possibility for more to see in the northern/southern parts or even beyond the coast. The whole projects codename is "Americas". ​ 20) Finland doesn't exist. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ​ 21) Flashbangs, flashlights. ​ 22) Lions or Tigers exist. Probably only caged. ​ 23) One event is called "Police Siren Abuse". Leaves much room for speculation. ​ 24) Saw someone talking some good news about a person and another person giving a positive response about it. More conversations between NPCs? And another: Person 1: "How's it going?" Person 2: "Going badly." Person 3: (negative response) Person 4: (response closer negative) Person 5: (conversation_line_4) Means that bigger groups of NPC people may form and talk to each other in a way which makes sense. ​ 25) Lucia will duck around 40 % lower than Jason if I interpreted correctly what I just saw. Maybe a little far-fetched. ​ 26) The "(Vice City) Mambas" will be a sports team. ​ 27) Cars will behave differently on tarmac, dirt, deep dirt, gravel, deep gravel and grass. Those are the only confirmed ones, there's surely more. ​ 28) A spear gun will most likely be usable. While regular weapons aren't that effective underwater, a spear gun is. Another hint towards more underwater content. ​ 29) GPS tracker jammers will be a thing which are carriable via inventory. ​ 30) Same thing with an "immobilizer bypass". An immobilizer is an electronic security device fitted to a motor vehicle that prevents the engine from being started unless the correct key is present and it prevents the car from being hot wired. It probably won't be that easy anymore to steal a parked sports car. ​ 31) More things we can carry: An auto dialer, a cut-off tool, binoculars, fire extinguishers, pool cues. ​ 32) Beef jerkys in your pants. ​ 33) Golf balls, golf irons, golf wedges, gold putters, golf drivers. I guess golf is back. ​ 34) When the player sat onto a bike, a text popped up saying "Discovered Sanches (livery). Means we'll probably be able to "discover" vehicles in some way. ​ 35) Assuming vanilla unicorn is back as a strip club brand, I found a second unreadable one and a third brand name called "Horny's". More strip clubs, it seems. EDIT: False alarm! Horny's is a burger place. ​ 36) The player has his own inventory, but there's also a shared inventory between characters. If Lucia is your partner, you can put a weapon and a few snacks into that inventory to make them usable for her as an example. I assume that's how it works. ​ 37) In one clip the map only shows up after the player gets into a car. Maybe we won't have a permanent mini map. ​ 38) There will be "Serializable World Events". Means some world events could have different stages to them. Those could function like the blue man icons on the minimap from GTA 4 or Strangers and Freaks from GTA 5. Only that they are world events. Possibly without a map icon. ​ 39) Car parts will be part of a world event and you will be able to pick them up individually. ​ 40) Horses exist and they are rideable if they don't cut them out again like they did in GTA 5, but I highly doubt it. ​ Conclusion: A lot of interesting stuff. I think it's clear that this game will have a much bigger focus on stealing and minor crimes than any other GTA game before. And I'm excited for that. Also much more stuff you can pick up individually. GTA 5 was already a step back compared to GTA 4 regarding that.
