I love the smell of jasmine and it’s a quintessential part of spring here but overall, I think gardenias are just the better smelling flower. Planted, grown, cut, and arranged by me. Meghan, go fly a kite with your Gardenia branches.
It really cracks me up how she buys Gardenia stems and puts them in VASES and pretends she is an expert and avid gardener. She moved onto a property that had established berry bushes, roses, lemon trees, etc., and who knows what else. The stuff was not planted by her, grown by her, and is still not cared for by her. She flounces around in dresses in her barefeet, in Meghan pretend land, but has never put in the hard work to cultivate anything. I bet she didn't even pick her own berries for the recipe she used to make runny sloppy spread. Then she found a cheap factory to mass produce spread to sell, pawning it off as her own recipe. Give me a BREAK!!! I don't need her to show me how to violently rip apart Gardenia stems and put flowers in vases. I plant, grow, cut, and arrange flowers. I don't need her know it all quack tutorials. She is obviously trying to Susie Homemake for the first time in her life and pass it off like she is this green thumbed expert. I call BS as I see it. So, my fellow sinners, I want you to post your gorgeous spring flowers and gardens and arrangements because Meghan's bought stems don't hold a wickless candle to ladies who TRULY garden. About that gardenia bloom box… What you ordered vs. what you got: a case study of a sloppy, droopy collaboration between High Camp Supply + As Ever 🥀
Thank you to goldenbeee for sharing these fabulous photos, captions, and links. I include the links to the recent Instagram pictures in a comment below. Well, ladies and gentlemen, these are what customers who ordered the “coveted” gardenia bloom box received last week. The box contained items that look quite weedy to me. Less lush than I imagined. When arranged out of the box, it all looks very underwhelming. The whole thing cost $255 + $35 shipping + tax. In some locales, this pushed the price to $310. Worth it? Look at the difference in quality when you compare to a similar collaboration that Jamie Lee Curtis did with High Camp Supply in 2023. That’s how you do it. The last picture is one that I posted when I questioned why a heavy honey jar and metal tea canister are being packed inside the same box as delicate flowers. It made no sense then, and it makes no sense now. This is a freaking nightmare for Meghan. 🤭 Proof is in the pudding. submitted by /u/Cultural_Ad4935 to r/SaintMeghanMarkle [link] [comments]

Need help identifying Temu mystery plant (possibly gardenia?)
My elderly mother ordered a gardenia plant from Temu. The sales photo was, of course, a beautiful little potted gardenia bush in full bloom. What arrived was a limbless cutting wrapped in cling wrap - basically a stick with some dirt. If memory serves, gardenias don't have thorns, but this does. Before I plant a possibly invasive species, or a humongous tree, I'd like to know what it is. Delivered from a Chinese seller, to potentially be planted in the southeastern USA. The full cutting, including root ball, is about 45 cm (almost 18"). It looks like it had branches about every 4-5 cm (~2") that were clipped off. The stalk is woody. The thorns are 1-1.5 cm (about 1/2") long, rigid, and very sharp. The green shoots in the photos have appeared since the plant arrived, so it's definitely alive. The new growth hasn't really spread out yet, so I don't have a good description of the leaves. My first thought was that it's possibly a rose bush, but it doesn't quite look rosy to me. Any thoughts? Could this be some sort of gardenia variant? Regardless of what it is, would it be safe to plant here? [EDIT: I worded that poorly, leading some commenters astray. I didn't mean "should I blindly plant this unknown thing and hope for the best," I meant something more like "once it's identified here, and if it's non-invasive, do you think it's safe to plant it?"] Thanks in advance. EDIT: more information here. (TL;DR: it appears to have shipped from the US, and may be a fruit tree seedling. I plan to pot it and follow up here once it becomes more recognizable.) EDIT: Final update can be found here. (TL;DR: it's dead, Jim.) submitted by /u/im_mobile to r/whatsthisplant [link] [comments]

As Ever’s bottomless pit of low-value products - let’s unpack them gardenias
By my estimation, the gardenias look like they could take about 10-15 minutes of prep time to arrange. That’s 10-15 minutes that your gift recipient might not have or have expected to need to prep their own freakin gift. We’re busy people, Megs! This video shows an unboxing of High Camp Supply’s cut gardenias. Notice the gardenias, greens, and other florals that come in the package are simply placed inside a box that’s haphazardly and somewhat loosely packed and shipped. You literally have to take each stem out individually, cut each stem you see, and then arrange each one singularly because they do not come pre-bunched like most online flower bouquets. Like what? I’m linking the video in a comment below. What a collaboration. Both companies take customers for fools. No wonder the High Camp Supply Instagram account posted a picture celebrating the collaboration announcement with champagne. There’s no way you’re getting over $200 worth of flowers. Hook, line, and sinker. And…that High Camp celebration photo shows what looks like real, authentic champagne from France. Not Meghan’s As Ever bubblin swill. Compare these pictures. Meghan’s front label is white, not gold. And her bottle neck label is black and gold, not all gold. Even High Camp can’t be bothered showcasing her “Methode Champenoise” (Napa Sparkling Wine to most regular people). Ooh burn. I want to close by sharing some really useful information from a florist’s website about the delicate nature of gardenias, particularly once they are cut. Given this, I absolutely cannot understand how it’s even advisable to include a heavy glass jar of honey and tea canister in with the fragile flowers. The glass honey jar will jostle around as the flowers act as a packing material for it and will bruise like crazy. 🫣 I’ll link the florist’s site below as well - ___ “Bringing the beauty and fragrance of gardenias indoors is a wonderful idea, but it comes with challenges. Gardenias are among the most delicate flowers in the world. Once cut from the plant, they do not have a long vase life compared to other flowers like roses or carnations. The Short Vase Life of Gardenias When placed in a vase, you can realistically expect a cut gardenia to look its best for only one to two days. After this, the browning process that happens on the plant will occur, often even more quickly. Their fragile nature is why you do not often see them in pre-made floral arrangements at flower shops. There are a few reasons for this short lifespan. The velvety petals are incredibly easy to bruise with even the slightest touch, and these bruised spots turn brown almost instantly. They are also very sensitive to ethylene gas, a natural gas released by ripening fruit that causes flowers to age faster. Most importantly, their woody stems sometimes struggle to draw up enough water to keep the lush, thick petals hydrated. Why They Turn Brown So Fast The rapid browning of cut gardenia petals is a natural process of oxidation. When the flower is cut or the petals are touched, cells are damaged and exposed to the air. This exposure causes them to turn brown, much like how a sliced apple browns when left on a counter. Because gardenia petals are so delicate and packed with moisture, this process is much more visible and happens faster than with sturdier flowers. Keeping them in a cool, humid environment and handling them as little as possible are the best ways to slow this down.” submitted by /u/Cultural_Ad4935 to r/SaintMeghanMarkle [link] [comments]

Gardenia was first established as a small bakery in Bukit Timah Plaza in 1978. https://www.gardenia.com.sg/about-us/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardenia_Foods Di ko alam kung sinasabi ba to kapag field trip sa Gardenia Factory so TIL haha submitted by /u/wartshog to r/todayIlearnedPH [link] [comments]

AU where Daphne doesn’t die and goes to Earth with Bloom to raise her on Gardenia (+ random doodles)
I definitely prefer Daphne dying to save Bloom and permanently staying dead but I had this “what if” scenario in my head for a while and finally decided to draw it. I was planning to make a few silly mini comics over this as well but artblock hit me like a truck and took all my skills on its way (it’s apparent from some of these drawings too), so I’m saving them for later (hopefully). I imagine if this happened Daphne would be very protective of Bloom and do everything she can to make sure she gets to live a comfortable life since she misses out on her chance to live the life Daphne lived on Domino. I love the concept of this AU but this scenario would not work in canon lol. Imagine the Trix unknowingly breaking into Bloom’s house to do to Daphne what they did to Mike and Vannessa in S1 and Daphne burns them to a crisp and they are never seen again. Saved you from three seasons of Trix shenanigans. Lmk of your opinions on this lol submitted by /u/selswitch to r/winxclub [link] [comments]
