I used liquid nails to reattatch the heads when I converted a dozen standard ducks to sleepers. It's held up pretty well. If there is any area that the material overlaps you might consider using a screw to help secure everything.

I’ve had my little polydactyl kitty, Miko, for almost 3 years now. I’ve trimmed his toes once every 2 weeks. He never showed any signs of stress or discomfort ever, super chill cat. Until Miko started licking and chewing at his extra toes one day. I figured something may be stuck under his little extra toes he couldn’t get at, clumped up litter or something. So I gave his paw that seemed to be causing him issues regular cleaning and baths. His paw got more and more stinky as time went on and it concerned me a lot, but I would clean it and it would seem to help temporarily. Until it got stinky again. He never let me REALLY look under there- he fought me a lot. I figured the reoccurring stink was just litter and debris getting stuck under his toes. Last night his paw stunk so bad while he slept on me I couldn’t handle it anymore. I tried doing my regular cleaning, and took a paper towel to under his toes and pressed it- then came out a light pink liquid that stunk horribly. I got my boyfriend to hold him wrapped in a towel so I could take a REALLY close look under his toes with a flashlight. I was horrified, and saw what you see in the 2nd slide. A HORRIBLY ingrown nail. In the 3 years I’ve had Miko, I’ve never seen ANY nail or nail bed under those toes, zero nails in between his paw while clipping them EVER. So this was a horrific discovery. I realized quick the stench was an awful infection and rushed him straight to emergency care within an hour. My poor Miko had to get the problematic nail completely removed and declawed during his emergency surgery. I never realized how much pain he was in all this time. It’s a really horrible feeling. The vet bill was $600 USD, which didn’t even hurt as much knowing my poor boy was suffering. The reason I’m sharing this story is because I could barely find any info online about a nail bed completely hidden under or inside toes. This IS a possibility and I wish I knew it sooner. Please, if you have a kitty who’s paws are bothering them, don’t ignore it and investigate it NOW. It will save you so much money and trauma to you and your kitty. On the bright side, Miko is okay and is predicted to make a great recovery. He’s on many painkillers for the recovery process. I just got this resin mini delivered. When I opened the box I noticed these smudges of resin on the inner packaging of one of the parts. I poked the part with my nail through the packaging (did not open it yet) and it seems to be solid, even directly under the smudges. I also don’t see any pools of liquid resin or anything like that. I know this is a bit of a tangent but I got permission from the mods, but for me it’s very important when cooking for others. How do you dress when baking/cooking? I watch cooks when they are cooking for others, and it drives me nuts that they wear their hair down in their faces, have long droopy sleeves, long painted nails, rings, etc. For me, all of these things are contrary to making good food for others especially since many of them say they give the food away. When I bake, I make sure my hair is brushed straight back and tightly pinned. My sleeves are short and not loose. My clothes cover my midsection, and I wear shoes (to protect my feet from spilled hot liquids). I don’t wear any rings, watches, bracelets, or fake nails. What do you do when you bake? Does it bother you when others cook with their hair down? Do you ever find hairs in food others cook for you? Hi Reddit! My name is Alena Bazhenova, and I'm absolutely thrilled to share with you the process of creating my Lurtz cosplay. First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank everyone who liked and commented on my previous post! I read every single message, and you have no idea how many times I smiled, and even more – how many times I laughed! You guys are truly amazing, thank you so much for all your support!♥️ My transformation began with the teeth. I took impressions of my own teeth, and then, referencing the movie's look, sculpted new teeth and gums from acrylic gel. I refined the shape with a dental drill, after which I painted them and applied a top coat. The next stage was the makeup. I made a plaster cast of my head with the teeth already in place (DO NOT ATTEMPT YOURSELF, performed by professionals, well, almost😄). On this cast, I sculpted a whole mask from plasticine, and then poured plaster into the mold to create a negative cast. Into this, I poured two-component silicone, carefully pressed the face mold back in to let excess material drain. After a day of waiting, I painted the resulting prosthetic and adhered it to my face. To create the male physique, I made a mannequin using my own body as a base. Over a long-sleeve shirt on the mannequin, I attached foam, shaping it into muscles, and achieved the final silhouette by trimming away excess. The final layer was another long-sleeve shirt made of black jersey. I created the legs and arms similarly, padding them with foam. For ease of wearing the costume, I sewed in a separating zipper. The result turned out very impressive, and in this costume, I felt like a real Mr. Michelin😂 The armor required meticulous attention. Initially, I sketched the elements on paper using a mannequin, referencing the original, then cut them out, fitted them, and made adjustments. Afterward, I cut the pieces from orange faux leather (which I later repainted) and EVA foam. Black gabardine was used for the "rags," and the belt was crafted from genuine leather. Special care was taken with the buckles. Eleven of them were created by casting tin using homemade molds. Despite some imperfections, they were refined to achieve the desired look. The gloves were designed to conceal a feminine hand. To achieve this, work gloves were soaked in latex and painted, and the forearm section was cut from an old leather coat. EVA overlays were also treated and riveted. The weaponry was also constructed from readily available materials: the bow from a plumbing pipe and wood, the sword from EVA foam with a metal rod, and the shield from a doormat. I am NOT the Original Poster. That is Sad-Acanthisitta377. They posted in r/Aquariums Do NOT comment on Original Posts. Latest update is 7 days old. Mood Spoiler: leaning toward hopeful-ish Original Post: June 17, 2025 My boyfriend has been working on this beautiful in-wall aquarium at my home for many months. It is constructed of plywood painted with pond coat for the bottom and sides. The plywood pieces are glued together and to the frame with liquid nails. The glass is 1/2” tempered glass that he purchased from a glass table top manufacturer. The glass has tapered edges all around. He used 100% silicone to glue the tempered glass (two table tops) to the pond coated plywood and frame (top). He assures me that the silicone is not relying on the tapered down (thinner) edge of the table top, but is located in thick part. The glass has a wooden frame pressing it with deck (i think) screws and washers every 6”, visible in the picture. I am terrified that it is going to fail. Here’s why: Two days ago, he built the entire tank without the frame. We filled it to the top. We believe it is about 120 gallons. The silicone failed and all of the water rapidly fell through the silicone onto the floor. Since it was filled to the top at the time, it flooded the entire downstairs of my home, where I live alone with my child when my bf is not visiting. This happened two days before his flight back home, out of the country. I didn’t want him to rush to redo it in two days because of the obvious catastrophe that could occur (again) if mistakes were made. He did anyways, and put water in the tank. I am terrified. Should I be? What are your thoughts about this new tank? Against my very clearly explained wishes, he went ahead and filled the tank partially last night. I was devastated. We fought more. I took him to the airport at 3am this morning. It is now 930am and I have finally figured out how to siphon the water out. I am using a drill siphon. To a longer comment: Thank you for explaining the framing. The first time it was erected, there was no frame at all, just silicone. And yes, he rushed through in a panic and left me with the aquarium that was not thought out properly filled with water. I paid a former client (and now friend) to help me remove it yesterday. It was a sonnofa to say the least. Bf and I have been arguing consistently since he left. He does not know I’ve removed the tank, but I am asking him questions about each and every issue that was presented by you all in addition to my continued concerns. He apologizes, but in a “sorry I even tried to do anything nice for you” sort of way. He thinks I’m overreacting. To a longer Comment: Thank you for your perspective. He is totally devastated. With regard to the manic episode, maybe you are right. However, it has taken about a year of planning and preparing to get to the point of building the aquarium so it was difficult to argue that he was being impulsive. Mini Update in Comments: June 21, 2025 (2 days later, 4 from OG post) Update: My sister and I took the pile of wood and glass that used to be the aquarium to the dump today. I haven’t spoken to bf since Wednesday. I’m going to wait until I’m not so upset and then reassess our relationship/friendship. I’m browsing French doors for that opening in the wall. Considering hiring the guy that helped me remove the tank to do the French doors with me. One more thought from OOP: Thank you! Also, commenters haven’t learned about all of the really nice things he has done for me over the years. And tbh I still believe that the aquarium was intended to be a favor for me. However, I do think that to the extent the redditors aren’t trolling me, they are right about my relationship. It speaks volumes that I only asked for aquarium advice in an aquarium sub, and there was an overwhelming response from a group of people not looking to give romance advice that gave it to me. My boyfriend has been working on this beautiful in-wall aquarium at my home for many months. It is constructed of plywood painted with pond coat for the bottom and sides. The plywood pieces are glued together and to the frame with liquid nails. The glass is 1/2” tempered glass that he purchased from a glass table top manufacturer. The glass has tapered edges all around. He used 100% silicone to glue the tempered glass (two table tops) to the pond coated plywood and frame (top). He assures me that the silicone is not relying on the tapered down (thinner) edge of the table top, but is located in thick part. The glass has a wooden frame pressing it with deck (i think) screws and washers every 6”, visible in the picture. I am terrified that it is going to fail. Here’s why: Two days ago, he built the entire tank without the frame. We filled it to the top. We believe it is about 120 gallons. The silicone failed and all of the water rapidly fell through the silicone onto the floor. Since it was filled to the top at the time, it flooded the entire downstairs of my home, where I live alone with my child when my bf is not visiting. This happened two days before his flight back home, out of the country. I didn’t want him to rush to redo it in two days because of the obvious catastrophe that could occur (again) if mistakes were made. He did anyways, and put water in the tank. I am terrified.
