Where it started to how it ended. This project took me weeks and cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $2000 between the cost of five units, six toppers, and the billions of feet of trim it took to blend the shelves in with the painfully intricate crown moulding. Also had to buy BIN primer, a nail gun and paint sprayer to use with out compressor, more moulding because it turned out we'd accidentally bought a few pieces with the wrong profile.... I custom cut the dentil moulding. I coped eight fancy inside corners at the walls and hand mitered four fancy outside corners at the outside corner. I shimmed and braced and shimmed some more. I screwed each unit into the wall in three places. I painted and painted and painted and painted. Finally, it is done. My partner (whose idea this mostly was lol) wants to put a fancy sliding ladder on it but 1. he didn't figure out how he wanted to structure that beforehand so who the hell knows if it can even be done safely and 2. we do not have the space for it. I don't have a good shot with the projector screen down at the moment, but rest assured that it's plenty stable and a great alternative to the Big Ugly Wall of Screen. I am so happy. Tonight we drink bubbly wine. In more practical terms, we started with one extant Billy unit, built an 11"x8"x16' box, painted the unit we already had, added five of its bretheren for a total of six. I decided to leave rhe back panels off to save on painting and compensated by adding extra earthquake brackets halfway up, on the opposite side from the ones up top. Added the toppers, then built yet another box to go up top and support the crown moulding. I panelled over the feet of the units by actually cutting the backing boards into strips with the rable saw and tacking them down. It's a little flimsy, but it made for a decently continuous surface above the baseboard. An interesting challenge we faced is that the moulding seems to be original to the the house (1920s) and consequently everything is slightly the wrong size, even though we were able to find the right profiles. Also, don't get me started on dentils and dado blades. I may never stop having nightmares. We preserved all the original moulding, it's just hiding behind the units, so if future owners want to revert they absolutely can. Anyone who are interested in testing can install the mod here: Charm Rebalanced Here are my current changes so far: ## Vengeful Spirit & Shade Soul - Vengeful Spirit's base damage: 15 => 20 - Shade Soul's base damage: 30 => 40 ***Wait a minute, I thought this mod only modifies charms!? ...Yeah, well, I just came up with these changes while balancing Shaman Stone. And it just fits so well.*** ## Soul Catcher - Soul gain when Soul Meter is full: 2 => 3. ***This makes Soul Catcher more viable in late game with the help of Soul Vessels without making it too strong in early game.*** ## Shaman Stone - **ALL SPELL DAMAGE** increase: 35% ***Don't worry. This charm is still extremely powerful. I might even want to nerf it to 1% increase.*** ## Soul Eater - Notch cost: 4 => 3. - Soul gain when Soul Meter is not full: 8 => 7. ***The 4-notch cost is extremely high and I don't find the benefits really worth it. Hopefully this change makes Soul Eater more efficient to use.*** ## Dashmaster - Increase Mothwing Cloak dash speed by 10% (note that this also applies on Shadow Dash, this is how the original logic works) - Reduce Shadow Dash cooldown by 20%. - Remove synergy with Sharp Shadow. - Remove synergy with Sprintmaster. ***Mothwing Cloak is overshadowed too much by Shade Cloak, I think this will make them get used more. Oh wait, this also buffs Shadow Dash. Is this too overpowered??? I don't know ._.*** ## Sprintmaster - Run speed increase: 20% => 25%. - Speed increase also APPLIES WHEN ON AIR. - Remove synergy with Dashmaster. ***I always feel so slow when jumping when using this charm. Now it's not anymore. This charm is already good so I have to remove the synergy with Dashmaster, otherwise it will be too overpowered.*** ## Grubsong - Soul gain now SCALES with the amount of damage taken. - Soul gain when taking damage: 15 => 12. - Remove synergy with Grubberfly's Elegy. ***Grubsong is a little too good for early game. So I think it is fine to nerf it a little bit. However, by scaling soul gain with damage, it remains viable in later stages, especially againsts bosses that deal more than 1 damage. I do think removing synergy is too harsh, but the charm is already too good. I also believe that a charm should only synergy with others if it does not work well with them.*** ## Heart - Masks increase: 2 => 3 ***I do think this charm need a buff to keep up with other charms in the late game.*** ## Greed - Geo drops increase: 20% => 50% - When being used in Colosseum Of Fools, Greed increases Trials' Geo reward by 25% ***The original increase is almost insignificant which many players didn't bother using it. The use in Colosseum Of Fools is really interesting to me. It encourages high risk, high return playstyle when you have to sacrifice 2 notch slots.*** ## Strength - Damage increase: 50% => 35%. - Damage increases also applies on Nail Art. ***This charm certainly needs a nerf, 50% increases in damage is purely evil. Moreover, is it weird when the charm only applies on Nail, don't you think?*** ## Quickslash - Attack speed increase: 46% => 33% ***This charm is really flexible when it can be use to both increase damage output and soul gain. It certainly needs a little nerf!*** ## Thorns Of Agony - Thorn damage: 1x => 2x Nail damage - I have noticed that in best cases, the total damage could be up to 4x Nail damage. ***Cool charm but needs a little buff*** ## Baldur Shell - Can now be restored by the amount of healed masks when player heals at full masks. - Now caps at 6 blocker hits. ***I feel like this change would encourage a new playstyle without making it overpowered. With this, focusing in Radiant boss fights is no longer entirely useless.*** ## Flukenest - Notch cost: 3 => 2 - Multihits bug has been fixed in the lasted version of the game, but the current Modding API-supportable version haven't not. However, I fixed it somehow. - Vengeful Spirit + Flukenest: 8 flukes x 5 damage (36 => 40) - Vengeful Spirit + Flukenest + Shaman Stone: 9 flukes x 6 damage (45 => 54) - Shade Soul + Flukenest: 16 flukes x 5 damage (64 => 80) - Shade Soul + Flukenest + Shaman Stone: 16 flukes x 7 damage (80 => 112) ***I love how this charm make spell so much stronger and fun to use since it basically makes Vengeful Spirit and Shade Soul a shotgun. I think it deserves more!*** ## Deep Focus - Notch cost: 4 => 3. - Focus time increase: 65% => 50%. ***It's a cool charm, but I don't see why it costs 4 notches. I have also lowered its focus time increases a little, and now when combining this charm with Quick Focus, the result is the same as normal.*** ## Liveblood Heart - Notch cost: 2 => 1. ***Because... why not? I have never thought that 2 Liveblood Masks is worth 2 Notches*** ## Lifeblood Core - Liveblood Masks: 4 => 6 ***This exorbitant charm should have added MORE THAN FOUR LIVEBLOOD MASKS.*** ## Joni's Blessing - Notch cost: 4 => 2 - Max health increase: 40% => 50% ***At this point, I really wonder why all Liveblood-related charms are so weird. This charm is not a exception. I do think that these changes would make the charm more fun to use.*** ## Hiveblood - Notch cost: 4 => 3. - Always regenerates masks for player. - Its behavior with Joni's Blessing is not changed. ***I always hear everyone complains that this charm is not worth using it. The first : Single As the name suggests, you fight a single ID. Pretty straight forwards. You choose the ID and suggest why you should fight it, such as power level, a challenge, etc. If your reasoning is good, then go for it! If not, eRice may direct you to a weaker or stronger ID, or just deny outright until you make a good reason. The second option : Gauntlet This one is a bit more complicated than the last. You'll fight a single ID, but once you win the fight, a new one fills its place. It can be in any order of your choice, and between each fights, you will have one of four options : Healing, which restores all damage you've taken; Mana reconstruction, which restores whatever form of "mana" you may have, as well as any one-time use abilities and the likes; Repairs, which repairs your tools and armor if they're broken; Rest, which fully restores your stamina. The final option : Hell All IDs are against you simultaneously. You. Are. Fucked. (Probably.) No breaks, nothing, just pure instincts and luck. This is very much the hardest mode, and no punches shall be held back. Your goal isn't necessarily to win, but to survive. This is for the strongest of fighters, or the most reckless. Found an abandoned canary and I have no idea about birds Found a partially covered bird cage in a parking lot, with a canary inside and no one around. I'll add photos of it. It seemed abandoned, the cage is old and dirty, and there's barely any food or water left. I left my phone number in the store next to it just in case the owner returns. The thing is, I have no clue how to care for it. Where I live they are often kept in small cages, which I obviously want to avoid, and fed a colorful seed mix which I have an inkling might not be the best. Where do I begin? I can go buy some supplies this afternoon, and have space for a large cage. He sings and seems healthy, but again, I have no clue. I'm in Spain, if that matters. Of course constructive criticism is welcome, keep in mind we purchased the biggest, nicest cage we could afford right now but in the future we can buy a larger one. He has been flying around and exploring, using everything in his cage, including the swing and the ladder! By the way, we are brainstorming names. As an Englishman, I’ve always thought Spikes accent was pretty bad. After a few episodes you get used to it, the accent is consistent, the vowels may be all wrong but they are consistently wrong which makes it seem very natural. I’ve seen people on here say they couldn’t believe James isn’t English, including other English people which I find baffling. It seems so obvious to me, especially in any scenes with Giles. But today I found out that Alexis Denisof is American, I had literally no idea. I honestly thought that Americans just couldn’t do perfect English accents, but here we are. My entire world is rocked and I will never view the world the same way. Anyone else experience this? Been seeing these instructions floating around every once in a while and I finally had time over the weekend to build a shelf. The idea is that you can build one of these with a single piece of 4x8 plywood. I first made the drawing in AutoCAD and Sketchup to verify all dimensions and final build. The dimensions provided actually have a little bit of buffer (around 1/8") so make sure you account for that. It also accounts for 1/8" thick sawblade cuts. I went to Home Depot and got three sheets of 3/4" birch plywood 89$/ea at 4' x 8' a sheet. I had a HD employee make two cuts at the store so that I could fit these in my car. I made sure he made precise cuts and got lucky that the employee was very competent. My plan was to build two for myself and one for my friend who was unable to make these with me so I just build one by myself first to test everything out. Most of the cuts were made using a circular saw and guide jig except for a few small cuts on my table saw. All joints are glued and nailed with a nail gun. I did add four pocket screws on the back board and four on each of the front boards as they attach to the side panels for extra rigidity (you can see the wood dowels in the final pics). I then sanded everything using three grades of sand paper: 60, 120, 220. Then rubbed everything down with a moist towel to remove all the wood dust. Used compressed air between each grit level to blow off dust. The final product is super heavy but still somewhat manageable to move with one person. On the next build I may build in a couple holes for handles. His only real accomplishment for 8 years was the ACA, which was a watered-down version of a plan written by Mitt Romney, a republican. Universal Healthcare didn't happen at a time when the country was ready for it because Obama didn't really believe in it and didn't fight tooth and nail for it. 2028 may be the one and only chance to get a real progressive in the White House. The political pendulum has swung so far right we're about to implode as a country- everyone knows we have to go left. Whoever the Dems run are going to be painted as far-left to scare voters- they might as well actually be far-left and get some shit done because it's not fun and games anymore- the country needs real big changes. What's worse is that if we do put in another do-nothing neo-liberal democrat, in 2032, they will have been painted as a socialist demon for 4 years (just like a progressive would be), but the democratic base will be unmotivated to vote for them again because nothing changed and people's living conditions and future prospects are still shit. That primes the country for MAGA 3.0: the Wrath of Stephen Miller and quite likely the end of the country as we know it. Just as a little history: Bill Clinton invented this idea of "fighting for the center". He figured democrats will always vote blue, so the only people you should fight for are the people in the middle. Not sure if this is the appropriate thread, but I’m feeling really guilty and just wanting to write it all down. I was on my way to work yesterday, which I have to go down a small alley way to park my car. There’s typically feral cats wandering the area, but yesterday I saw an emancipated looking cat that I couldn’t ignore. I keep cat food in my car and he immediately ran over when I called towards the group of cats. He was missing an eye, just an empty socket with discharge, had no teeth, only a few nails left, and couldn’t have been more than 8 pounds. I contacted a shelter I’ve volunteered with, but they had no room because the county is full and so is her garage. I had my roommate put my own cats in my room and took him home and put him in my bathroom. Once we got home, I tried to give him a bath and a few maggots start falling off of him. It freaked me out and I started calling around for vets, but it was a Saturday and only the ER was open. They offered to euthanize him under the Good Samaritan law, or I would need to take full financial responsibility. He was incredibly sweet and was so strong not showing any signs of pain, so I hoped for the best, took him in, and paid the exam fee. I cry incredibly easy, so just sat in the waiting room with glasses on. After half an hour, a vet assistant let me know they cleaned the infection and wanted to do bloodwork. After 2 more hours, they brought me back and told me it didn’t look good at all. The injuries were near his rear and they expected he had maggots inside of him. They suggested he was older, but idk how old he may have been. I broke down crying even though I only knew his for maybe 5 hours. I agreed to euthanize because I had no idea how much I was already agreeing to pay, and they didn’t believe he would live since we didn’t know what else he had. I stayed with him for 30 minutes or so before I was ready. I held him and he had his arm and head laying around my arm as he went. I know I didn’t have bad intentions, but I’m so guilty that he would be alive now if I just let him be. I picked out an urn that turns into flowers and will be buying a planter for him to rest in. They asked if I wanted to name him, so I named him Jasper before he left. I’m grateful you weren’t alone in the end, but I’m so sorry I didn’t give you more time feeling loved. I also stupidly told my boss’ wife who helps at the office that I took a cat from by our work after they initially said they were making progress. She was happy for me but then I had to text her only a few hours later that I put him down and asked for her not to bring it up. My (40f) mother (73) died a month ago. She had cellulitis that turned into sepsis. We were close, I’m an only child. But, she wasn’t an overbearing mother and I never felt like she was “too much” when it came to our relationship. You’ll understand why I point this out soon. My husband and I have been cleaning out her home over the past month, preparing to sell it. Nothing she had was really out of the ordinary, old yearbooks, some of her grandmothers things, typical stuff an older lady would have. We both took the day off to clean out the last area, her storage room. It started out normal, going through boxes of holiday decorations, photo albums, what you’d expect in a storage room. Then my husband found a chest, hidden under boxes and tubs. It’s fairly big, the size of a coffee table. He opened it up and started going through it while I was looking through a photo album. I heard him say “aww” and he held up a baggie with a lock of my hair in it and a label that said “my name first haircut”. So, of course, I wanted to see what else was in it. At first, I found things that made me feel sentimental: my first tooth, my first piece of jewelry (baby rings were a thing back then), my newborn photo, etc. And then things took a turn… I discovered a bag with my first toothbrush in it. Weird but whatever. Then a bag with fingernails and toenails from my first nail clipping. And then a bag with my umbilical cord stump. A bag with my first pacifier. One with my first DIRTY DIAPER, double bagged. I was grossed out, scared to keep going but I couldn’t stop. It was morbid fascination. In between the bizarre things, I found nostalgic items like my first book, my first shoes, and my first baby doll. And then I get to the thing that made my stomach turn and my “fascination” halt…..my first maxi pad. Yes, it was USED and in a baggie. I literally screamed in horror. My husband gagged. We said nothing to each other for a full 5 minutes. Just staring at it on the floor where I dropped it and staring back at each other. Finally, my husband broke the silence by trying to make me laugh. “So, donation pile?” I did giggle for a second but then went straight back to sheer horror. Then he closed the chest and said “enough for today.” I had no idea she kept these things. I didn’t even think she was the type to keep more than my first lock of hair or hospital bracelet. She wasn’t a hoarder. Her home is clean and she never hesitated to throw something away if it was broken or old. I’m left with a question that I’ll never get answered, “why?” Why keep this stuff? Scratch that, why keep this TRASH that happens to be my first something? I don’t understand it. She never seemed overly sentimental. Or mentally ill, for that matter. Who knows what else is in this chest? I may have sorted through 1/10 of what’s in there, if that. Maybe I found the worst of it. Okay, so I (24F) have this best friend, let’s call her Jenna (24F too), and we’ve been close since high school. Like, “held-my-hair-while-I-threw-up-in-the-Denny’s-bathroom” type of friends. I honestly love her, I really do. But she can be... a lot. So anyway, she threw this little “surprise party” for me last weekend. My birthday was last Tuesday, but she insisted on celebrating Friday. She told me to dress cute, and she made it sound like it was gonna be this wholesome wine-and-charcuterie night with the girls. Sounds great, right? Well, I show up in this cute white dress I literally bought for the occasion, hair curled, nails done, all that. I walk in and they yell surprise, but not in a “we love you” way. It was a theme party. The theme? “Dress like the birthday girl and roast her.” I kid you not. EVERYONE was wearing versions of my go-to outfits. Messy bun, iced coffee cups, fake nails, bad parking tickets taped to their bags (okay that one kinda got me). But then they started doing fake "toasts" that were just jabs. So my cute little imposter is not Ciggy. Unless Ciggy’s microchip somehow maneuvered its way elsewhere in his body, it’s not him. The woman at the shelter was made aware that this copycat has a vet appointment tomorrow, and asked that I have the vet do a more thorough check for a (possibly migrated) microchip. That being said, I’m now going to address the somehow spiteful comments I managed to receive on my post 😑: CIGGY IS MICROCHIPPED. To everyone who said “this is why you get them microchipped”, yes… I know!!! “Can’t you tell by his behavior?” Uhh no, that’s why I posted this. His behavior is so similar I was starting to believe I was deliriously delusional. Ciggy has been MISSING for FOUR months. I LAST SAW Ciggy with my own eyes, NINE months ago. He was much smaller than he would be now and smaller than picture his other mama would send me. Unfortunately the photos she sent me weren’t very good for using on this post or even helping myself in differentiating the two kitties. “It’s SOOO obvious that’s not the same cat” k cool, glad you can say that with such confidence. I wasn’t able to! And quite frankly, didn’t want to! Every ounce of me wants this kitty to be Cig. Claw Caps/“Nail Polish”: Ciggy’s, and Impy’s nails have never been painted, and they never will be. I’m not incompetent. As for nail caps. I was told by a VETERINARIAN that they were safe. Not to mention, the glue used is a safe and non-toxic glue. And with enough scratching around they pop right off like press on’s. I do the nail caps to prevent my pets from scratching up the furniture in my mom’s home. She’s kind enough to let me stay in her house, I’d like to take “measures” to make sure me and my pets aren’t ruining her things. Impy currently doesn’t have claw caps on right now because they’ve popped off. And I won’t be reapplying them because he hasn’t been scratching at any furniture! I only applied them to Ciggy when he was a kitten because I was living in a dorm and would’ve had to pay large fines for any damage done, after noticing he didn’t have a habit of making the beds a scratching post, we stopped applying them. And I reapplied them when I thought I found Ciggy because I didn’t know if being outside had changed his habits or anything like that. Ciggy didn’t escape while in my care. To make a long story short. Me and his other mom are from the same hometown. We went off to college together hours away where we actually adopted Ciggy. After the school year ended (last May) I had to stay up at school to work. I was staying in an apartment provided by my workplace for a “discounted” price. Unfortunately, animals weren’t allowed in said apartments. So other mama took Ciggy back to our hometown. I came back to my hometown in August. At this point, her and I had a falling out, and she was back up at school. Ciggy was left with her parents at her house. I felt weird about the idea of going to her house without her there to visit Ciggy, so I told her to let me know whenever she was home so I could come visit. Something I now regret with every ounce of me. In October, she’d come home, and I asked to see Cig. I was told that she’d thought about it, and was not ready to “see me”. So I wasn’t able to see Cig when she’d come home. And not long after, I was told by a mutual friend of ours, that she’d posted on social media (snap priv story) a video of her looking for Cig. I waited a couple days for her to tell me he’d gone missing. And she never did. So I decided to report Cig as missing to the microchip company. This was something only I had access to, as I paid for the microchip, and had Cig registered in my name when we got him. Like I said in some replies, I’m not negligent or insane. I’m just a sad cat mom in a SUPER stressful/shitty situation. Thank you for all the hopeful comments. The cute stories. And the sweet reminders. And of course that the CDS works in mysterious ways. I spent the entire day yesterday thinking about George blog message hitting about some future news involving Maisie Williams (who I adore and wish nothing but the best) and we all started wondering that it may be a spin off with Arya sailing West of Westeros and I think this may be the one move that finally forces me away from the book series. I am trying to have a lot of grace and love towards George RRM, I understand that this is his life and he is free to do whatever he wants to, but we have been waiting for the next book for 13 years, thats not a small time. Its been years since we got any update on the books, all we hear from now on its that he is just writing... yet, we do get lots of updates on House Of Dragon, A Knight of the 7 Kingdoms, Nymeria project in animation and now this new project with Maisie and its been clear to me that he just doesn't love the books anymore, so what's the point of re reading the books and writing theories and discussing future plots? In 2015 he decided to step aside from the tv show Game of Throne and promised to focus on the books, yet 10 years later, not only he had not delivered the final books, but has been more and more involved in a series of spin offs and adaptations. The idea of writing a tv show about Arya post A Dream of Spring ending, while never bothering to finish her story in the main book series is absolutely insane to me. Thats that mean she will sail West of Westeros by the end of the books? Will she finish her training in the House of Black and White? Will she ever return to Winterfell in TWOW or ADOS? Is he giving away her ending in the final books because he can not pass the opportunity of another tv show?? Seriously? One of the most important characters in the entire series, we are just going to find out about her ending via a crap tv adaptation? as an Arya fan I am struggling to be happy with the news. I am for the first time questioning if he has any adviser or real friend by his side. This would be like Tolkien writing a spin off involving Frodo leaving Middle Earth before even finishing "The Return of the King". Am I crazy to think that this may be the final nail in the coffin of this series? I tried to grab one of the books today, since it's a holiday in my country, but could not finish one chapter. Can I vent for just a minute? ER nurse here. This is what is wrong with healthcare. I had a patient come in by Ems a while ago for a very common, very minor childhood injury. Think finger smashed in a door. It wasn't crazy busy for once so he went to a room instead of the waiting room. I was in another room when they got there but finished up and went to check the patient in. I got an ice pack, analgesic, x-ray ordered. No laceration, no nail bed injury, just hurt like heck. Dad is freaking out (appropriately, Ems gave him the idea that appendages may need to be amputated.) I settle them and send them off to radiology. Good job nurse! Not five minutes later grandma comes up to me and wants to know who she can complain to. I stammered. Complain to? What more could you possibly want here? I did all the things. Well, supposedly the tech that put the kid on the scale was "rude." I don't know what that means. Was the tech not warm and fuzzy and covered in rainbows enough for you? So I handed her a patient advocate card and walked away. We had that family in and out in under an hour, which might be a world record. They had excellent care. And I imagine I'm still going to get an email wanting to know what I did to this family. I'm so excited. I'm a people pleaser. I try so hard. I love emergency medicine. But this is why I don't want to do this anymore. I want to barf every time I get a complaint about something that is usually out of my control. I'm not really in a customer satisfaction role - or I shouldn't be. Did you get the care you needed? Did you leave alive? The ER isn't Macys and it isn't Burger King. My mom is one of those women who invested the majority of their lives keeping up with what is required for women to look good: diet, exercise, eyebrows plucked, body stripped of hair, make-up, manis and pedis. She always invested a great deal of time in looking like what she was raised to believe women should look like: hairless, well-groomed, skinny enough to give the idea that you aren't a glutton but not enough to make people snicker behind your back that you must have an eating disorder. Then, about five years ago, she came home distraught because other women in her office suddenly had better eyelashes than her, and I had to explain to her that they're wearing fake ones, either glued to their natural ones by an aesthetician or ones that they bought at the mall and applied themselves before going to work. She, who had spent her entire life obeying beauty standards without a second thought, was baffled at the idea that other women would apply fake eyelashes to consider themselves to be presentable. Right now, though, I feel like the bar for women to "look presentable" has been set to be even higher: it's falsies at all times, it's acrylic nails, it's lip injections, it's hair extensions. Have you considered purchasing a different kind of straw that will prevent getting wrinkles? Have you considered purchasing a session with a color specialist that will tell you what colors best go with your skintone and hair color so that you may go out and buy new clothes and shoes? Have you considered permanent make-up? Have you considered Veneers despite your natural teeth being perfectly healthy? You're 19, you should consider starting botox before the age catches up to you! You're 22, you should consider getting some lip injections before you get settled into your new office job! You're a woman, you should really consider shaving off the peach fuzz from your face even if, until yesterday, it was considered to be perfectly inoffensive! In May I got a bill from the 1 bed apartment I moved out of - they are notoriously known for stripping people of their deposits and getting away with it - like dozens of reviews of people complaining of this. The area I live in has a lot of college student and young professionals and people (like myself) are forced to sign with big property companies due to overall lack of housing. I signed a lease that said I would not put any nails in the wall - so I accept the responsibility for the damage of hanging things on the walls I lived in for 13 months. My question is - does anyone have an idea of what these damages should actually cost? Any property managers able to weight in on what they’d charge for this apartment turnover? For reference - I live in a mid-size city in the Midwest. It was a 350ish square foot one bed apartment. I am going to court today to settle this. I’ll post the list of damage - it all just seems like made up numbers imo. The water bills I have proof of already paying - they’re trying to get me to pay them twice. This line has been on my thumb nail for over a year now. It was hard to take good pictures but, within the line, there’s a dark streak in the middle and the area around that is lighter. My primary physician gave me to a referral to a dermatologist but every one in my area is booked out for months. Any ideas what may have caused this? You should still go to an ER even if you don’t want to report to police to make sure you’re okay, but here’s more tips if you do want to report. Thanks to user att3e3a for adding that exams can be done (and evidence collected) up to 72 hours after the assault, and even if you’ve eaten/showered/etc, evidence can still be collected. Also, STI/pregnancy prevention may still be available after 72 hours. —If the assault involved your mouth, don’t eat or drink anything. Don’t shower or use the restroom if possible (if you have to pee, drip dry a bit and then put your underwear back on). —If there’s a chance you were able to scratch your attacker, don’t wash your hands (DNA may be under your nails). —Don’t change clothes if possible (if you do, bring the original clothes you were assaulted in to the ER- per comments, in a paper bag or pillow case to preserve evidence, not a plastic bag). Clothing may be taken as evidence with your consent, you may not get it back. —If you’re on your period, bring any pads/tampons from during/after the assault to the ER. This is all stuff I’ve learned working with SANEs (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners) and survivors that I wish was common knowledge. Edit: Thank you for the awards!! Also thank you to everyone sharing more advice! As a disclaimer, I work in Texas so some (all?) if this may differ based on state/country. Hopefully at least some of it translates to where you are or you now know to look into your area’s options/resources. Most(?) areas have sexual assault advocacy groups/centers that can help survivors with many assault-related things, so it may be a good idea to be familiar with them in case you or someone you know needs help in the future. More Texas specific info: the SA exam (with or without evidence collection - swabs/photos/etc) is covered by the state, but STI/pregnancy prevention is run through health insurance and may not be completely covered. Survivors can apply for Crime Victims Compensation to get reimbursed for the rest ONLY IF they report the assault to law enforcement. If you are a minor and present to the ED for SA, it is considered a mandatory report for the hospital, BUT you do not have to consent to evidence collection and you do NOT have to participate in the investigation. If you want to have evidence collected, but aren’t sure you want to report, they will collect it and store it and you have up to 5 years to choose to report. Once reported, cases can take years, or sometimes decades, to be heard in court. Not all reported sexual assaults go to court. Edit 2: To clarify, if you have been assaulted (and you’re not a minor) it is completely your decision whether to report or not!! You know what is right for you. The MOST important thing is that you’re safe and taken care of. Sometimes the best thing for your safety and mental health is not to report, and that is 100% okay. That being said, I would still ask you to seek medical attention as soon after the assault as possible because trauma/adrenaline can mask pain and you may be injured more than you realize. There is a lot of shill talk in other subs about what Criand said regarding the ♾🌊. I completely disagree with u/criand but the labeling of him as a shill is not correct. Criand is a huge part of how we came to understand things as apes and deserves respect. We as apes also need to keep these subreddits safe for open discussion, and not be quick to start a shill hunt, it’s just detrimental behavior to be so paranoid. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. As to criand’s opinion, I believe it to be a failure in logic or a not completely thought out idea. The idea that once forced liquidation starts it can’t be undone is assuming that the rules won’t be changed when most convenient for the banks and prime brokers. We have been through plenty of let downs of rules not being enforced and the rules being changed against us. The only thing apes truly have some control over is DRSing and HODLing those shares. I believe it foolish to relinquish that little control EVER. To criand’s other point of people not DRSing due to pressure to not sell DRS’d shares I feel that to not have enough data to back. Also the counter argument for those people would be that they may never get their tendies if we don’t DRS the float; so DRSing the majority of your shares and selling a couple is better than not MOASSing at all. Lastly if a whale DRS’d and sold early into the MOASS they could jeopardize the squeeze. Only selling broker shares prevents this. In an ideal world every ape would nail the top and selling for whatever they want just to re-DRS the float at $40 but that isn’t realistic. At this point I would rather be safe than sorry and make sure all X HODLers get their life changing money. Those are my immediate thoughts on this. Give Criand a break unless something more blatant comes up. You don’t want to jump down someone’s throat so quick, it could really hurt our communities if we silence the most helpful apes when they make a mistake. I'm nineteen (F). I've never really been into fashion and have always dressed sort of tomboyishly. I was telling a friend about how I've never really worn a dress past the age of 7 and how I was looking for something fancy to wear to because I don't have those sort of clothes at all (always end up borrowing someone else's when I have to). After a lot of looking online, I finally found a dress I really liked. It's a basic satin slip dress with a mid thigh slit. Not the kinda dress that would be unusual for someone my age to wear to a party, I've seen a lot of people wearing something similar. I asked my mom which colour would look best on me as I really didn't know and she's someone that's quite into fashion. She took one look at it and called it 'slutty' and asked me why I wanted to look like a slut so badly. Later on, she told my dad about the 'slutty dress' and he sided with her. He said the 'description' of the dress made him queasy and that although he wouldn't have used the words my mom did, he didn't think it was wrong of her to use them. He also said it was 'not like me' to wear such clothing, which isn't false but then I'm also nineteen and need clothes other than sweatpants and oversized t shirts. I'm not proud of it but I lost my anger at them (which is why I believe I also may be in the wrong here) and said it wasn't fair to make me feel ashamed for going out of my comfort zone and trying something new. I feel weird and awkward doing feminine things (makeup/dye my hair/paint my nails) because I've always been told that's a bimbo/slutty thing to do. I even agreed to stitch the slit up because it bothered my mom so much. She told me she was 'merely stating her opinion', but it was an opinion that was meant to shame for something I was going to wear. If it matters, I am living in their house but I paid for the dress with my own money TLDR- Bought a dress that's too slutty for my parents. They shamed me for it and that caused a family argument where I lost my cool at them. Edit- I ordered it in burgundy.
