What is the point of the Ninja Crispi? The glass seems like a great idea, but the food still sits on the nonstick tray and the glass does not touch the food
I was set on the Crispi because it seemed healthier without the nonstick stuff, went to look at it at costco and its just a glass container but the food still sits on the same nonstick rack that every other air fryer has. The glass container is irrelevant as the food won't even touch it unless you are overloading the thing; most everything I cook just sits on the rack except maybe a load of french fries. I analyzed 1 year of air fryer recommendations on Reddit (Nov 2024–2025). These are the top 20.
I posted a version in April. Some of you have been asking for an updated version so here’s one. This time I’ve also added the brand rankings to help contextualise the rankings better. This is part of my project to tinker with Reddit data and LLMs. Wanted to create something useful for the community while levelling up my coding chops. The idea is to highlight which air fryers got the most love. To be clear, most love =/= objectively best. But hopefully it’s a useful data point nonetheless, especially for those overwhelmed by the options. Obviously this is a very general list. It gets way more interesting when you slice and dice the data. If you want to dig into the raw data, you can do so on the project page (google “RedditRecs”). You can explore the data, read the comments, filter by price, capacity, type (e.g. oven vs basket, vs pressure cooker etc), comments about crisping, baking, ease of cleaning etc. Disclaimer – the page has some affiliate links. You don’t have to use them, though they help fund the analyses. Methodology in the comments. submitted by /u/heyyyjoo to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

Roommate used my dedicated gf air fryer. Can I clean it?😓
I have celiac but I’m living with a roommate who’s not gf. I bought myself a really nice ninja air fryer/oven combo thing so that I could keep all my gf baking and such in one spot and not have to worry about cross contamination. Today my roommate fried chicken wings using my air fryer (I’m rly not sure why she used mine bc she has her own) and the sauce she used has gluten in it. I only know because I saw them and checked the label on the sauce. She seems sorry but I’m really super frustrated that she didn’t read the label and just used my one safe space. My roommate is going to clean it tomorrow, but my question is, is there any way to clean it so that I can be sure there’s no gluten in the fans or air vents? I’m suuuper symptomatic and really don’t want to test it out and risk getting sick. EDIT: Hii thank you all for replying! I was not expecting this much engagement. I have decided to sell the air fryer and then ask her to pay the difference between what I can sell it for and what it will cost to buy a new one. My roommate is very kind but just a bit careless sometimes. I had originally told her she could use the old one IF she made sure everything was gf so I am partially at fault for trusting her to be as thorough as I am. so I will be communicating very strongly that she can’t use this new one. Again, thanks for all the encouragement! it was very helpful to hear everyone affirming my concerns and reassured me that im not being dramatic lolz. 🫶 EDIT 2: Last update. As soon as i got home from work today she came and told me she was really sorry and she tried to thoroughly clean it but doesn’t think it is safe for me to use bc she couldn’t get into the vents properly. She offered to buy me a new one and she will not use it unless we are cooking together (which we sometimes do). I’m really thankful I didn’t even have to have the difficult conversation and she knows how serious it is for me. She also knows I had some really severe anxiety when I was first diagnosed and doesn’t want to be a contribution. And while I was gone she went through the pantry (we have separate shelves) and labeled everything she had that has gluten in it so she knows what to be extra careful with. Thanks again 😋🤗 submitted by /u/thewhitechibitotoro to r/glutenfree [link] [comments]

Got this at a thrift shop today. Would this be an air fryer from before we called them air fryers?
I picked this up at a thrift store today for $13. Despite the look of the box, this thing was brand knew, never used. I thought to myself that it looked a lot like the Ninja glass air fryer, and despite being called a convection roaster, it seemed to me to be the same thing as what today we would call and air fryer. It's a counter top cooking device with a fan and a heating element. So an air fryer, right? It comes with and extension ring for cooking larger things (3rd pic), although I don't know how often that will get used because it a pretty large capacity especially compared to the countertop air fryers of today, a two grates one taller than the other so you can cook things on two levels, a steamer basket and sone kabob skewers. I'm looking forward to trying to roast a whole chicken in it. submitted by /u/Justinsetchell to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

What is the best Ninja Air fryer
I'm planning to get my sister an air fryer for Christmas, but there are so many options that I'm unsure which one to choose. I own the Speedi and really like it, but I only use the air fry function. Your air fryer is toxic. #2
One of members asked me: "What about the little thing the food is placed over? Not sure the name, it's circular and black. Is that nontoxic?" Great question! let dive in! https://preview.redd.it/sqqmqmsycs2e1.png?width=400&format=png&auto=webp&s=e481c91561bf074194116f870613ef474e70b630 first I want to make it clear, Ninja has been inconsistent in their communication about PTFE usage across their product line. Initially, some models were advertised as having ceramic-coated, PTFE-free baskets, but more recent versions may have switched to PTFE coatings without clear communication about the change. BUT I READ THE SMALL DETAILS(for you) AND I WANT TO SHARE WHAT I LEARN ABOUT THE NINJA CRISPI. the Ninja CRISPi stands out from other Ninja models due to its use of borosilicate glass containers instead of traditional non-stick baskets. this is a significant advantage from a materials perspective. let me try to explain it. Borosilicate glass: highly resistant to thermal shock and chemical corrosion. It's non-reactive and doesn't leach chemicals into food, making it a safer choice compared to some non-stick coatings. Ceramic-coated crisper plate: While not explicitly stated for the CRISPi, Ninja often uses ceramic coatings on crisper plates, which are generally PTFE-free and considered safer than traditional non-stick coatings. Wait but what is PTFE(Polytetrafluoroethylene) and why we want PTFE-FREE? Commonly known as Teflon. It becomes risky when heated above 300°C (572°F), potentially releasing harmful fumes. Ninja admits to using PTFE in some models, stating there's a "fractional amount of PFOA present" more safety considerations: temperature control: Ninja air fryers typically operate below 230°C (450°F), which is below the threshold for PTFE degradation. wear and tear: All non-stick coatings can degrade over time.BUT the borosilicate glass of the CRISPi is more resistant to scratching and degradation. I hope this helps! Today I will cook chicken with it, but its for another post :) Amazon Reviews: Link submitted by /u/BenTheAider to r/NinjaCrispi [link] [comments]

How do I clean this air fryer pan, and how do I stop this from happening to the new one?
This is the air fryer basket for my ninja foodie oven. This basket gets action daily or more. I tried cleaning it by soaking this in hot water with baking soda and vinegar, then scrubbing the heck out of it with steel wool. I also trying using a metal scraper tool, but that just removed the bits sticking out, not the bits in between the holes. I just bought a hard scrub brush to try to get into the holes better. This is over a year of build up as I could never completely clean the holes. I bought a new one so I can try other methods of cleaning on this old one (in case I ruin it lol). Does anyone have any ideas? And how can I stop this from happening to the old one? PS: I tried BKF and power paste once each, but it did nothing lol. Maybe it will do better with the scrubber brush vs steel wool... Thank you in advance! submitted by /u/estou_rica to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Too many appliances/gadgets. I’m drawing the line at the air fryer.
I just realized my kitchen is more full of appliances and gadgets than food. I have a large kitchen aid food processor & parts, large kitchen aid mixer & parts, ninja blender & parts, small food processor, smaller food processor, spiralizer, hand blender, soda stream, old crockpot, small crockpot, ninja crockpot, instapot, ice cream maker, muli food mill, hand grater, manual slicer, rice cooker, george forman griddle, waffle maker, electric knife, toaster oven, convection/toaster oven (this thing is huge!), and electric griddle. That is not even the pots and pans. Now everyone is talking about air fryers… I’m just done and not falling for it. Glad everyone loves them but I have a lifetime of recipes that just need a regular stove. I will still die happy without an air fryer. EDIT: after reading a bunch of the replies I realized you all are the reason I have so many gadgets. I come from a long line of thrifters. So my family is buying what you are discarding. And I’m inheriting their stuff. I didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until I started to pull it out of all the hiding places in my kitchen. I know its the circle of life but I need to get off this wheel and set these things free again. But yes I’ll take my sisters air fryer and give it a try. submitted by /u/4travelers to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

Why are Ninja Air Fryers superior to other brands and more long lasting?
I've had an AF100 since, like, it was released. Never had a single problem with it and use it multiple times a day. Always has worked and the ceramic coating holds up much better than the non stick coating on most other air fryers. What's the deal here? Thought Ninja was supposed to be one of those garbage infomercial brands? P.S. I am not associated with Ninja in any way. I am just some drunk guy professing my love for their superior air fryer builds. submitted by /u/mrfunbun to r/airfryer [link] [comments]
