Once I knew that Dairy Milk bars came from three different factories, I knew I had to do a side-by-side taste test! If you didn’t know, bars that say OBO in the code on the back are made in Birmingham, England. OCO are made “near Dublin” and OWR are made somewhere in Poland. I rinsed my mouth out with water between tastes to cleanse my palate a bit. Here are the results. Eye: OCO is the dullest. OBO is a little shinier. OWR seems to have the shiniest texture, and is slightly darker brown. OBO and OCO are identical in terms of shade of brown. Nose: OBO is the most open on the nose, with classic milk chocolate wafting forward. OCO and OWR are a little more closed off. I could smell equal amounts of paper towel and chocolate, while the OBO stood out more. Palate: OBO: Softer texture. Seems eager to melt in the mouth. Creamy milk chocolate. Crumbly, to an extent. OCO: Stiffer texture. It becomes gummy when you chew it. The milk chocolate note jumps out less. There is another flavor I am finding it hard to name. I want to say dark chocolate but that doesn’t feel quite right. It’s almost more like the flavor of the center of a chocolate truffle than straight up milk chocolate. I am finding this not as flavorful and OBO or OWR. OWR: dissolves in the mouth faster than OBO. Closer to OBO than OCO in mouthfeel, but thinner than OBO. A little sweeter than OBO; more chocolate forward than OCO. Sticky aftertaste on the OWR that lingers, unpleasantly. I do think that the bars made in Birmingham are the best. The OCO bars just tasted a bit off, and the texture was quite different from the other two. OWR tasted like a poor imitation of the OBO version. Edit: Okay, a lot of you asked for a blind tasting. I obviously can't do it, because I know what the different shapes are (and yes, the shapes are a potential confounding factor, I know), so I set up a blind tasting for my wife, numbering each sample and not letting her know which was from where. I also didn't let her see the outside of the packaging. She's not quite as into tasting notes as I am, but here are her results. OWR doesn’t have a lot of flavor and the texture is not good OBO is better than OWR, better flavor but it doesn’t have enough “heft” to it. OCO is "where it’s at." obligatory this didn't happen today it's been happening since 2003 and I just had a quiet panic about it on the bus, I'm 42. when I was nineteen I walked into a barbershop for the first time as an adult, meaning my mom wasn't waiting in the car, and the guy asked me what I wanted and I had not prepared for this, in my head I assumed haircuts worked like ordering coffee where you say a word and the professional handles the rest, turns out you have to know words, numbers even, hair has a grading system. so the guy says what are we doing today man and I, a confident adult, said uh just like a two on the sides. I think I heard it in a movie, I think the movie was Varsity Blues, I don't know. he nodded, he cut, I tipped 15% because I had read somewhere that's what adults do, I walked out, I looked fine, I assumed I had cracked the code. for the next twenty three years in five different cities with maybe fourteen different barbers when asked what I wanted I have said with the calm authority of a man who has read a manual, "two on the sides, scissor on top." Throwaway Account My daughter and Ryan (her ex) are 26 now. When they were both 18, my daughter got pregnant. They got an apartment together and started to raise there little family. They never got married, but Ryans family pressured them to do it often. Multiple time I heard them say, those two need to stop living in sin. The issue was a year ago, when Ryan was caught cheating, and he is gay. The breakup was extremely messy, and in the end, the custody was 50/50. Ryan's family is really religious and when it came out, they were breaking, they were pissed. When they learned Ryan was gay, they disowned him. I was at my daughter's place helping her move out when I heard Ryan's mother call him a faggot. So his family is really shitty people. After he was disowned, for some reason, they thought he would give them access to the grandbaby, he basically told them to shove it. I know about this because they contacted me once to let them see the kid while I was babysitting. I told them no. 50/50 has been a bit rough for my daughter; it is hard for her not to have her kid for major events. Example Ryan had custody of the grandbaby during Easter but he agreed to let my daughter have him that day so they can celebrate with my side of the family. My daughter was over to pick up some stuff and she showed me pictures from her latest weekend trip. In the picture, their was Ryans mom and his two siblings. I asked what this was about and she told me that she has been taking the kid to see them for a few months now. I asked if Ryan knew (I thought they got back in contact), and she told me no. I told her that it was horrible to do. That they are bigots and disowned their kid. She got defensive, and it went into an argument. He and Ochako Uraraka form a small friend group with Midoriya, making you think that they'll be a dynamic trio of sorts by the end of the series. Unfortunately, he is pushed to the side after his major arc in the latter half of Season 2. While Uraraka and Midoriya both get heavy and very relevant climactic portions in the series finale, Iida plays a pretty minor part and just becomes wasted potential after being thrown out of the spotlight. Processed the latest Artemis II lunar view which is significantly better resolution than the previous one. This full-disk view of the Moon has been processed with saturated colour enhancement to expose the rich variety of mineral compositions hidden beneath its familiar gray surface. Vibrant yellows and oranges trace iron-rich basalts in the ancient lava flows of the maria. Deep blues and purples highlight titanium-bearing ilmenite deposits, while scattered pinks and reds mark unique impact-melt glasses and plagioclase-rich highlands. Each hue tells a story of billions of years of volcanic eruptions, asteroid bombardments, and cosmic weathering. This isn’t just a pretty picture. It’s science in action. Picked up this vintage side-by-side from a local Cabelas yesterday and have some questions and curious about overall interpretations. I’m fairly new to the world of firearms, in addition this is my first shotgun, so please forgive any silly questions or not yet amended ignorance. I’ve shot trap before with a pump but that’s the extent of my shotgun experience. I’ve always loved the look of a sxs and think they generally offer a better fit for my needs in a shotgun than other styles. I have been looking for a good quality side by side for a while and fell in love with the overall look and condition of this one. After doing a little research I decided to go for it! Although I’ve only owned it for day and not shot it yet, I’m pleased with the decision. Theres a few things I’m looking to get feedback on however, thank you in advance for taking the time: Reliability- This is an older gun, 1966 was the year they gave me at the store. It’s a Zoli & Rizinni 16 gauge made before the two gun makers parted ways in the early 70s. Apparently the person who goes over the firearms is incredibly meticulous from what they’ve said. Their speculation at the store is that it wasn’t fired much due to its excellent condition. I went over it pretty thoroughly at the store and once I got home as well. The action is VERY stiff, much stiffer than the brand new Bobwhite G2s I was looking at before I found this. It takes quite a bit of force to break, I’m going to take that as one of the signs it was indeed not fired very much and still has a decent amount of life left in it. As well as the general condition of the metal, especially where the barrels meet the receiver, it almost looks new, besides a bit of discolouration and very minor scratches. What I’m looking to get out of it is good use. The likely scenario is I’ll take it to a range at least a few times a year and out in the field come bird hunting season. I certainly don’t want it to just sit in a safe never to be had fun with, but also am not planning on beating it up going out on rainy days or putting hundreds of shells through it in one session. Definitely not expecting to put ten thousand shells through it before it’s kaput. What are thoughts on overall reliability/durability of the firearm, it being older but also in seemingly great condition? Lifespan with good care? (Still haven’t fired it yet but will get to the range this weekend or earlier to make sure it goes bang. Can’t wait!) Ammunition selection- I know there’s shells that come loaded with lead, and some with steel. And I know there’s different shot sizes and then there’s reloading and all those specifics. If anyone has the time I’d love an abbreviated rundown on choosing what I’m sending downrange and what it’s for (fyi front trigger is full and rear trigger is mod I believe) My biggest curiosity about ammunition is this being an older sxs, what should I NOT shoot out of it, if anything? A bit of a side question: buckshot. I know it’s not a home defence shotty (oh no I’ll have to buy another shotgun!) but if need be, could this perform as a home defence shotgun with 00? Or even out in the field using buckshot for hunting on occasion or defence against game? Maintenance- I’m usually pretty good about cleaning my firearms right after shooting them and do a fairly thorough job I think. I almost always wipe down with a slightly oily rag wherever metal was touched, maybe that’s overboard! Hoping to get a fair amount of use out of this guy as well as make it last as long as possible. Anything specific that I should know about cleaning and maintaining/storing an older shotgun or sxs? Do any of you have tips on how I might find him again? Three days ago he simply didn’t come home. Normally he comes back every single day to sleep and several times a day to eat. In seven years he has never missed a single day of coming home, which is why this is so unusual and worrying. I live in a small town with about 7,000 people, and there are large fields and a forest nearby where he usually roams. He has always had a good life with me, he was never mistreated, always had food whenever he wanted, and could sleep or go outside whenever he liked. Here’s what I’ve already tried: • Posted about him on Instagram&Tiktok • Put up posters around town • Also hung posters in gyms and at gas stations (the gym even did a repost!) • Reported him missing to the local animal shelter • Told all my friends and acquaintances • Put his litter box outside • Placed something outside that smells like me • Walked around the area throughout the night at different times calling his name Is there anything else I might have missed? Maybe something that has worked for you before? I would be incredibly grateful for any advice or help. Thank you so much.
