2UP writes... if you earn less than around $18k, you don't pay anything. Actually if it's less than about 22800, you don't pay anything because of the low income tax offset. I've used the tax calculator for the 2019-2020 year and including the Medicare levies, you pay 1/3 of your income in tax when your income reaches 120k. So you have to be rich to pay this amount of tax.

So you have to be rich to pay this amount of tax.
