The Rise in Contactless Transitions
Shoppers have been looking for the cleanest way that does not involve using cash because they feared coronavirus. This trend is driven by consumers that wanted to get in and out of the stores as fast as possible or to safely buy everything online or using mobile pay. Luckily, there is already a system that cards developed to make shopping easier and that’s contactless payment. In the US, a large amount of people is still using magnetic tape type of card and recently a lot of them wanted to switch to ones that offer contactless pay option.
Mastercard noticed a 40% jump in contactless payments in the US, which also include mobile pay and tap-to-pay options, just in the first quarter while pandemic was in its peak. There was a noticeable increase in contactless online payments as a result of closed stores and malls. In China more than 80% of all transactions are mobile since their market has already adapted to this technology and the pandemic did not influence this trend.

UV Lights
UV lights have become a significant part of disinfecting equipment that serves hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and food manufacturers across the world. The use of UV lamps for indoor sterilization has been found to kill over 99% of viruses, bacteria, and fungi in 20-25 minutes and that is why UV lamps could be used to disinfect different types of places like supermarkets, offices, private homes, schools, etc. thus effectively stopping coronavirus from spreading indoor. This type of light changes the genetic material in pathogens preventing them to reproduce that usually means killing it. A potential downside is that UV systems contribute to high electricity bills and a lot of maintenance, but since its effects are proven, there is no doubt that a rise in sales for these lamps will continue.

Instagram Profiles as Digital Yearbooks
Hundreds of high school seniors have started using Instagram for making celebratory albums to cherish their achievements and share precious memories. All students would submit their photos to the administrators who would post them with jokes, quotes, or post-graduation plans. Instead of a signature, everyone comments on the photos and can see what others wrote.
Unfortunately, this year’s generation won't have a big grad celebration, but a digital graduation yearbook will give all of them a chance to say farewell in a new way. Some schools decided to use their online platforms to post photos and comments, thus creating an environment of friendship where students can share and create together.

Remote babysitting
With all social distancing rules and regulations, people are becoming less eager to go out and this relates to most to new parents. Even so, there is an increase in demand for virtual babysitters since they are a valuable resource for parents who might need to go to work but don’t want a person to come to their apartment. Some parents might be working from home, but there needs to be somebody who will play with their kids allowing them to concentrate on work.
Virtual babysitters would play games with kids and entertain them, show them how to do DIY projects, or play educational games online with them. Their impact could be significant since they would be reading to kids influencing their education as well as intellectual curiosity. Researchers claim that this could be an entirely innovative approach leading to tech innovations that might make it possible for the person to be with kids even if it lives miles away.
