I prepared for the worst for 3 months. Today the worst happened and it's the best thing ever.?
guys. i cannot believe what just happened. so rewind to January, my company announces a "restructuring" (we all know what that means). i'm not in the first wave but the writing was on the wall. instead of panicking i decided to just… start preparing. worst case i have options, best case i wasted some evenings. i went kind of hard on it actually. set up claude and careerflow ai tool to track every job i applied to, used to tweak my resume for each role because i learned the hard way that one generic resume mean zero callbacks. also let gpt audit my linkedin and it was genuinely embarrassing how many keywords i was missing for my own job title. through march and april i was quietly applying in the evenings. had a few interviews, nothing crazy. then last week, offer. senior role, 30% more, a team i'd actually be excited to join. i accepted on friday and was planning to drop the resignation bomb today. i kid you not, i was literally drafting the "thank you for the opportunity" email when my skip-level's calendar invite popped up. "15 min sync." you already know. layoff. BUT, 5 months severance, garden leave, they're even keeping benefits active till august. so now i have: 1/ 5 months of severance 2/ a better job starting in 3 weeks 3/ 3 weeks of actual vacation in between that i'm getting paid twice for if you're reading this and you have that gut feeling about your job, trust it. start applying. keep it organized. submitted by /u/ajayxyt to r/careerguidance [link] [comments]

Ex-ESPN guy created a deeply realistic draft site - 32 AI GMs, scheme fits, traits
Hi, I used to cover the draft for ESPN, FOX, CBS, NBC and a few others, and always wanted to build an NFL Draft site that felt more like a real draft. So I spent the past month (and 20 years) researching everything about every single team and scheme and GM, and then created bigboardlab.com - 32 AI GMs (built from researched behavioral profiles) - Scheme fit intelligence and trait/measurable sorting in Mock Draft Sim - Data Lab with the ability to explore any facet of the draft and prospects visually - Deep scouting intelligence on all prospects - The ability to build your own big board and alter traits and overall grades Would love any feedback! submitted by /u/New-Interaction-4327 to r/NFL_Draft [link] [comments]

AI is just friggin lame
I feel like I’m slowly losing my mind. I know this has been discussed before, but this AI push is so lame, and in the first time in my life that I truly hate technology. Is it millennials? Gen X? Booomiers? Gen Z? Who is actually pushing this stuff? And how do I opt out??? I’ll admit. When I first heard of it. I tried ChatGPT about four years ago. The novelty quickly wore off when I learned it was solving problems for me but I wasn’t learning anything, and its answers were clearly wrong in some cases. It feels like all the accessible “skills” I’ve learned since middle school are being regurgitated by these AI companies and sold to everyone as a “that was easy button” when it was already freaking easy! Why was it necessary that search engines be “optimized” with AI? I’ve been using a search engines to look up nude cheat codes for Sims, or the Pokemon duplicating item cheat code for Gen I since Middle School with no issue! People older than me act like AI is the second coming because they never learned how to google how long to cook a turkey, or how to set up rules for Microsoft Outlook. Sure Ads and sponsored results have been a minor speed bump with search engines, but I’m not looking forward to the day where search results are only AI slop…because we all know it’s happening. I’ve been using computer art programs since I was in high school. Free apps when I couldn’t afford it, and then Adobe stuff in college when I took some graphic design courses. I learned about design, typography, and how to make funny (debatable) cartoons to entertain people. Now my dumb Gen X coworker prompts AI to generate their own memes…in one case using a photo of me, and they laugh like jackals over it during our lunch break. Man. I had a class in highschool about investing where we would use this website to “invest” fake money in stocks. We used Google and Internet research to pick the companies we wanted to invest in. Wrote a report about our investments and then either watched our portfolio shrink or grow and then had to explain what happened and why. Now I got Gen X coworkers telling me they are using OpenAi to invest for them so their kids are millionaires by the time they’re 30. Is this shit for real? Am I just getting old and losing the plot with a technological advancement or is all this just super lame and alarming to everyone else? My wife used to ask me to read emails she was drafting for work, and now she just gets AI to write them for her. Sure. I disliked taking a minute to read through her emails, but I miss it now. Who would have thought that simple spelling mistakes and grammatical problems would actually be endearing in 2026 in a sea of emails that are meticulously and mechanically drafted by a no-personality clanker? Even simple shit like learning how to read a P&L. Coworkers are feeding screenshots into AI (which they shouldn’t be doing because it’s private info) so it can be summarized for them. Like how are they even learning about the company’s financials and where the money is going by just getting top level summaries? I haven’t discussed my dislike over AI in public, out of fear of looking like some lunatic alarmist. But guys. AI generative art is easily the lamest thing I ever seen, and I was one of those dweebs on DeviantArt posting pictures of my own Sonic characters. submitted by /u/WEEGEMAN to r/Millennials [link] [comments]

Is this commissioned art piece (provided rough draft) ai?
My friend commissioned some custom artwork for his lizardfolk paladin in our d&d campaign and he just shared the rough draft. I am 90% sure that it's AI but I'd like some others to chime in to confirm before I crush his dreams. He's paying 65+ dollars. I personally don't care about ai art vs real art for this campaign but having someone pay 65+ for an ai piece is BULLS**T. (don't know subreddits rules so censoring) Reasons I think it's AI: - the shading style - the sixteenth notes being different font essentially - the sketchy style for.something definitely digital but in a truly artificial way - the shape of the head looks like it was based on dragon born and kobolds more than lizardmen which have far less artwork publicly available, could be due to artist preference/knowledge of d&d though -the weird goatee?? Does he have hair or not this just seems weird -the belt clipping through the coat -the wisps coming off the sleeves -The legs merging together near the crotch where it overlaps the sword *Three fingered hand is not a problem bc it's a lizard man so that works fine Please help me decide for sure!! submitted by /u/SammehSO-SO to r/isthisAI [link] [comments]

My advisor started requiring draft histories after catching 3 people with AI-written lit reviews
Just got an email that our department now requires all thesis chapters to include revision history. Three phd students got caught submitting AI-generated literature reviews last semester. My advisor showed us how she caught them. Ran suspicious sections through gptzero, all flagged as likely AI. But the real giveaway was when she asked them to explain their synthesis in person and they couldn't. Now we have to submit drafts showing our actual writing process. Honestly not mad about it. Spending 5 years on a phd just to fake your research seems insane. Plus side: Advisor is now way more helpful with feedback since she knows we're doing real work. Seeing our struggle makes her more invested in helping. Anyone else's program implementing authentication requirements? submitted by /u/Saiki_kusou01 to r/GradSchool [link] [comments]

FantasyPlaybook.ai is now STACKED. For Redditors, built by a Redditor. Live Draft sync, draft recs, and more to dominate your league
This time we’re announcing STACKED, the spiritual successor to FantasyPlaybook. Over the last two years, tens of thousands of Redditors used our tools to win their drafts and dominate their leagues. For the second year in a row, I rebuilt everything from scratch (please stop me if I ever try that again). This year, we reimagined what a draft tool could be. Instead of giving you yet another assistant (spreadsheet, PDF, second monitor…), STACKED becomes your upgraded draft room. No Chrome extensions, no complicated syncing. Just load in and draft. It works directly on ESPN, Sleeper, Yahoo, NFL.com, and CBS, injecting real-time projections, custom rankings, and value insights straight into your draft experience. STACKED Draft Room 🔥 What’s New with STACKED DraftSync with ESPN, Sleeper, Yahoo, NFL.com, and CBS (mock drafts too!) Live ADP updates specific to your draft platform ADP Exploits to instantly spot players where platform ADP is way off from ECR Injury alerts and ECR updates in real-time Keyboard shortcuts for different draft views (my favorite is Opponent Needs 👀) Targets Queue to track players without tipping your hand. We’ll move them to your real queue when their ADP is close % chance player is available at your next pick to help you plan risk/reward in real-time Custom projections and VOLS-based rankings (Value Over Last Starter) Full league settings support including scoring, roster size, number of teams, etc. 👉 Try it now https://stackedfantasy.com 🎥 3-min demo Creating a new account, customizing rankings, and making picks in a live mock draft: https://supercut.ai/share/stacked/9EMZnM7OgGjM2omHXwVKdG 🛠 How to Use It Make a free account at stackedfantasy.com Set your pre-draft rankings and projections using our customizable, dynamic draft sheet Join a draft and instantly see every piece of relevant data injected into your draft room — including live ADP, ECR gaps, positional value, opponent needs, and more 🧪 Mock Drafting There are 2 easy ways to practice: Option 1: Go to stackedfantasy.com/leagues and click the Mock Draft card. Paste in your mock draft URL or draft ID and we’ll handle the rest. Option 2: Take your platform’s mock draft URL and swap in a STACKED domain: Sleeper From: https://sleeper.com/draft/nfl/1256667295984386048303 To: https://STACKEDsleeper.com/draft/nfl/1256667295984386048303 ESPN Use: https://STACKEDespn.com/... Yahoo Use: https://fantasy.STACKEDyahoo.com/... We’ll redirect you straight into the STACKED interface with everything pre-loaded. Zero setup. 🆓 Free vs. Paid Our free tier includes everything that was in FantasyPlaybook last year, rebuilt and massively improved. That means: Access to our live draft room with DraftSync, real-time player removals, VOLS, custom rankings, and ECR comparisons Full functionality for all mock drafts (Note: CBS doesn’t support mocks and NFL.com mocks are a bit broken. Refresh mid-draft and it drops you into a new one) Our paid tier is just $1/week ($16.99 for the full season) — significantly cheaper than any other DraftSync tool on the market. That doesn’t even include the in-season tools we’re launching soon that are built to blow you away. ---------------------------------------------------- This is just the beginning. I’ll be updating things daily based on your feedback. If anything breaks or there’s a feature you’re dying for, just let me know. (We have a customer support widget on each page and I’ll be standing by.) We’ve also got a few more products (all free) dropping in the next couple weeks that I’m confident will make drafting even easier, sharper, and more fun. Appreciate all the support from this community. Let’s crush draft season. P.S. I took down our Sleeper connection this morning, it looked like it was a little shaky. It'll be back up this weekend. submitted by /u/mlchiang to r/fantasyfootball [link] [comments]

I made an AI model that predicts 62% of ranked games from draft only
Edit: As noted by user Impossible_Concert88 , at the time of this blog post the true accuracy was of 52% and not 62%, this is because of a bug that duplicated matches in the dataset and caused to model to overfit without it being detected. This was fixed around 2 days after the reddit post. The accuracy as of the 4th of April is of 55%. Full details in https://loldraftai.com/blog/correction-reddit-post Ever feel like you’ve lost a game before it even starts because of the draft? I’ve been working on something to help with that. I trained an AI model that predicts the winning team in 62% of ranked games using only the patch, champions picked, and Elo—no matchup winrates, damage stats, or anything else. It’s live and free to use at loldraftai.com/draft. What’s cool about it is that the model learns game dynamics and stats on its own from millions of games. Instead of just focusing on lane matchups, it considers the whole draft. You can even click “Suggest Champion” to see which pick improves your win chance the most. Example usage Here is a simple example that shows why the model is better than just looking at lane matchups: In Emerald on patch 15.06, according to the model, Darius (a classic Sion counter) is the 8th-best pick against Sion, with a 53.3% winrate. Seems good, right? But if we add some context, and assume the enemy botlane is Tristana/Janna, Darius drops to 25th, with a 49.3% winrate. Why? He gets kited to death, and the model understands that. This is why the model is better than just looking at lane counters—it understands the draft as a whole. Model prediction for Darius against Sion top and Tristana/Janna botlane. I hope you will have fun using the model, any suggestions are welcome! A couple of final notes: Because the model is trained on solo queue games, It doesn’t generalize very well to pro play, for example it seems to underestimate tank junglers, which are stronger in pro than in solo queue. Therefore in pro it might be usable, but only as a tool and not as the final judge. The model accuracy of 62% in the title is calculated by taking model predictions on a set of around 2 million games it was not trained on, then if the model predictions is more than 50% winrate for the side that actually won, it counts as an accurate prediction. (For those who know machine learning, a more meaningful metric is log loss, which is at 0,656) The model doesn’t understand pick order and blind picks. For incomplete drafts, the model is trained by randomly masking complete drafts. Therefore predictions for incomplete drafts are predictions against “average” champions, and not the worst possible counterpick. submitted by /u/Funny-Occasion-1712 to r/leagueoflegends [link] [comments]
