Am I the only one who finds the whole pronouns thing a bit strange?
I’m not transphobic, I think anyone should be allowed to be themselves, but I feel like the adding everyone’s pronouns to every single thing just seems, ‘odd’? It just feels so weird to have to announce what your pronouns are in certain situations, when before hand nobody cared in the slightest. It also feels quite forced and that anyone who sees it as weird is then labelled ‘transphobic’. I understand that trans people get misgendered sometime, but then why does that mean that every single person who isn’t trans has to label themself with their pronouns? Edit: sorry i seem to have triggered the Reddit pronoun police. Have a good day to all the normal people. Remember why I stopped using Reddit now. 😂😂😂😂 submitted by /u/No_Fudge_4589 to r/AskBrits [link] [comments]

It’s not talked about enough that despite how much of an asshole he is, Jax still respects Zoobles pronouns
I mean I know that Goose probably wouldn’t wanna make Jax transphobic or something, but at the same time Jax has gone so far as to make jokes about Zooble being LGBTQ. But when it all comes down to it he still uses their pronouns genuinely, like how he did when he requested an adventure of beating Zooble like a piñata. Idk I guess it’s just something that to some feels obvious and natural to happen, but realistically one may think Jax would be that much of an asshole not to care about another’s feelings with their identity. Maybe that’s one of the few things he respects because he knows how it feels to have identity conflicts and issues. submitted by /u/Ihdkwhatimdoinghere to r/theamazingdigitalciru [link] [comments]

"Progressive bully torments victim with preferred pronouns"
1- Allison, Umbrella Academy season 3. She decides to hate on her brother and blame him for everything even going to the extent of killing someone who was basically his son, but she never once misgenders him even though he came out like a day before. 2- Susie, Deltarune. While she's not really a serious kind of bully, not necessarily wanting to hurt anyone, just not seeing herself as being worthy of being good, it's still funny that she always respects Kris' pronouns even when threatening to eat their face. 3- Jax, TADC. While his character is much deeper and he probably does care about others even though he's trying to hide it, it's still funny that he calls Zooble by their preferred pronouns even though they're the one who stand up to him the most. submitted by /u/France_Ball_Mapper to r/TopCharacterTropes [link] [comments]

Is it just me or sometimes the pronouns is getting out of hand??
Pronouns are important in expressing ourselves, and I get that. I don’t wanna insert my identity here as it’s not that important. What’s my concern is some of my fellow enby just being so mad for just a pronoun, and I’m just using the preferred one. I’m a person who has a habit to interchange the preferred pronouns of an individual. For example, if your pronouns are she/they, I will address you both she and they. Like not most of the time, I will use she, I will juggle and change it to they. For example, I once joined in the enby group in Facebook. One post is about Demi Lovato, who’s pronouns are they/she. Most of the time, I address them as they. But in that particular post, I use a she to comment about how I love HOLY FVCK. And anyone is enrage at me, I’m not even exaggerating. The admin just gives me warning of being careful about pronouns. I know the story of why they put “she”, yet I am not being rude or enbyphobic to them, I’m their fan why I will become a nasty? I’m just recognizing that they also have another way of addressing them. Am I overreacting for this reason??? submitted by /u/Agreeable_Will3636 to r/NonBinaryTalk [link] [comments]

I shouldn't be forced to use preferred pronouns
I believe in free speech and I believe that adults can do whatever they choose to. If you are a consenting adult, do anything you want and be proud of it. If you want to identify as the opposite sex or create a new one, go ahead, but I shouldn't be forced or even expected to do the same for you. Free speech means that you can say what you want. You can say that you want to be called something. But I also have free speech, so I can say that I don't want to. Forced speech is not free speech. Free speech can mean silence just as much as speech. You might say that I DON'T have to, and they are just exercising their freedom of speech to tell me and pressure me into calling them that. But people ARE forced. A 90-year-old woman just got kicked out of an organization she has been volunteering in for 60 years! Why? Because she questioned what these new pronouns are and why they need to be used. This is not just in volunteer organizations either. A school teacher was fired from their job for not using a student's pronouns. Dallas warned their workers that they are at threat for termination if they did not use preferred pronouns. There is no reason for ANYONE to be fired for refusing the use of pronouns. ESPECIALLY not for just questioning what they are, as is in the case of the 90-year-old woman. Some follow a religion that doesn't coincide with these new identities. That is freedom of religion, which should be a human right everywhere. Some aren't religious, but have values in differences between men and women and believe it is immoral to change yourself to fit the standard. Should they be forced to drop their values and morals for the will of people they have never met? Everyone has a right to ask to be called something. But everyone also has the right to say what they want. Some might also use the argument that harassment is an exception. Not using preferred pronouns is not harassment. Calling someone a 'f****" or a "tran**" could be considered harassment, but simply refusing to use specified pronouns and instead using biological pronouns is not harassment, but rather it is use of that person's rights to thought and speech. It is possible to respect someone, but not respect their requests or beliefs. I love and respect everyone I know, but I disagree with many of their decisions and many of their political/social views. Does that mean I don't care about them? Does that mean I don't love them or respect them? No. That's like saying that a mother doesn't love her son because she doesn't love him smoking pot in class. There is a difference between respecting/loving a person and respecting/loving their views. They are not hand-in-hand. Thank you for reading! submitted by /u/KY_Unlimited1 to r/ControversialOpinions [link] [comments]

I Finally Understand "Any Pronouns"
I've come to a realization regarding what I want from other people in regard to respecting my identity. My preferred pronouns are they/them, but I've begun to understand people who use "any pronouns" which I never questioned but also never understood. However, being friends with people who respect and accept me as being non-binary has shown me that even people who try make a lot of mistakes. Weirdly, it doesn't feel nearly as bad to be accidentally misgendered by people who I know accept and support my identity. As long as they're trying and use neutral language most of the time, I don't mind an occasional mix-up. The key thing I've realized is that I just want to be seen as non-binary rather than my AGAB. I would be fine with "any pronouns" from people who I know are supportive, but I don't want to give people a free pass to not make an effort. submitted by /u/leo_the_greatest to r/NonBinary [link] [comments]

I don't have to use someone's pronouns if I don't feel like it.
There's not much to it really. Basically, they have the freedom to do whatever they want, but so do I. I can say and do what I want same as them. The freedom of speech makes it so you can control what YOU say, not what I say. There is no law forcing me to participate, and even if there was, I still wouldn't. submitted by /u/Nux1945 to r/unpopularopinion [link] [comments]
