RE:Cozumel Beach Club Progress - help needed
Beware, the protests are now directed against the Cozumel project. It seems that public opinion in Mexico has found a common enemy in Royal Caribbean. The reason is difficult to explain, but the truth is that there is a widespread and growing hatred (largely unfounded) against the cruise line.

First time with Royal Caribbean… did I mess up? Need advice (please be kind)
Please don’t come at me - I already feel awful about this and I’m just trying to figure out what to do. This is our first time ever booking with Royal Caribbean (and also our first time using Cruisebound). We’re used to Disney Cruise Line where we’ve always booked a balcony and had zero issues, so I truly thought I did enough research going into this… but clearly I didn’t fully understand how their “guarantee balcony” works. We ended up being assigned an infinite balcony, and I had no idea that was basically just a window that opens vs a traditional balcony. Unfortunately, that setup is NOT going to work for our family: • My 6-year-old daughter is autistic and has sensory triggers, and the open-window concept is already causing concern • My husband is claustrophobic, so having to keep it closed feels really uncomfortable for him So I’m stuck in this situation where either way doesn’t work for someone in my family. I’ve reached out to both Royal Caribbean and Cruisebound trying to explain everything, and I honestly feel like no one cares or is trying to help. The only “solution” I’ve been given is to pay $2,900 more just to move to a regular ocean view balcony (not even a suite or anything upgraded). To be transparent - yes, I understand now in retrospect that with my family’s needs I probably should have picked my own room. But when I booked a “guarantee ocean view balcony,” based on the research I did, I truly thought that meant a traditional balcony - not an infinite one. I really did try to research this ahead of time, which is why this outcome feels so frustrating and honestly upsetting. I also had a Royal Caribbean agent make me feel pretty terrible about it - basically saying this is my fault for not choosing my own room - which just added to how bad I already feel. So I’m really just asking for kindness here… I don’t need negative comments, I already feel that myself. Our cruise sails in less than two weeks and I’m honestly really anxious about my family’s comfort at this point. I feel like I tried to plan something special and it’s turning into a stressful situation. It also looks like there’s only one traditional ocean view balcony left online, which might be why they’re being so difficult about switching me. A few questions: • Has anyone had luck with the RoyalUp (bid) program actually helping in situations like this? • Has anyone been able to switch rooms at the port or once onboard? • Is there anything else I can realistically do this close to sailing? Also really disappointed because Cruisebound was supposed to call me back and instead just sent an email - no real help or solutions. At this point I’m worried this experience is going to completely turn my husband off from ever trying anything other than Disney again 😞 Any insight or advice (kind advice please) would really mean a lot. submitted by /u/WorkNew5548 to r/Cruise [link] [comments]

Mestastic on Family Cruise - Worked Great for Family of 4 - Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas
TLDR: Took a Meshtastic setup on a family cruise to keep connected -- Saved a 'boatload' of money and my wife keeps praising me for how well it worked! Full Story: The price for being able to have communication for my family of four an upcoming Royal Caribbean cruise seemed ridiculous. $27/person/day. 4 persons * 8 days * $27/person/day = $864 (before taxes/fees/etc) I was a bit worried since the Harmony of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships in the world and it's a giant collection of metal boxes. I knew we needed to carry around our "Sea Pass", so I figured sticking a node to the back of everyone's lanyard might be feasible. I'd recently heard really good things about the WisMesh Tag and the form factor was perfect. To boost the mesh, I set up the WisMesh Pocket with the Gooseneck Tactical Antenna as a base station in my room, which luckily was a balcony room, on the INSIDE section of the ship (see picture). That was ideal since it had easier access to the floors below and above. Sometimes the room steward would unplug the WisMesh Pocket, but since it has a strong battery, that didn't cause any issues. We set up a FamilyComms channel, and used that exclusively for communication. When a message is received, each WisMesh Tag would beep for 1 minute, so you didn't have to constantly have your phone on you. The IP66 rating ensured we were safe from most water activities. Since GPS was not helpful at sea, I turned that off on all of the WisMesh Tags when we were on the ship (super easy by pressing the button 3 times). This was also a great way to save battery. When disembarking the ship at the various ports we re-enabled GPS (again, pressing the user button 3 times). We had almost no problems staying connected. I only had one message fail to send, and it was a Direct Message to my wife, which I could see immediately and simply resend. I was a bit worried that the learning curve might be too much for my 10 year old, but it wasn't an issue. Basics - $325 (before tax) (1) WisMesh Pocket (1) Meshtastic Gooseneck Tactical Antenna (4) WisMesh Tag Extras - $93 (before tax) (4) Cruise Ship Lanyards (1) Roll of Double Sided Tape (3M VHB) (4) 3D Printed ID Holders (probably was overkill?) (1) 6 Port Anker Charger (2) USB-C to A adapters Total cost: $418 (before tax) The last bit I'd leave you with: This activity really intrigued my 10 year old son, and he is now nerding out with me using Meshtastic. He LOVES tinkering with the WisMesh Tag node and the entire Meshtastic hobby has become a great excuse for us to spend time together. submitted by /u/PoweredParaGuy to r/meshtastic [link] [comments]

What happened to Royal Caribbean?
I went on a bunch of Royal Caribbean cruises back in the day and didn’t really have any complaints. Then I went on one recently and I have some major concerns. -The food was terrible. Even the bacon was bad, the hash browns were bad. The spaghetti tasted like it had cinnamon in the sauce. I heard a lot of people complain and a few people said they would never go on RC again. I agree. I ate at the speciality restaurants and they were good. This just indicates they know what good food is and are serving terrible food. -The bed and pillows were terribly uncomfortable. I was in a balcony room. -Getting drinks was a slow nightmare. I just wanted canned drinks but lots of people were ordering frozen drinks and they made every single one individually and they had no pre made frozen drinks or machine. It was so slow. I also wanted to bring drinks to my room to just relax and it was very difficult to get more than a couple drinks to bring back. I had the unlimited drinks package. -The Tv channels were seriously lacking. I just wanted to relax in my room sometimes and there was nothing to watch on TV. I even had the Internet package but it was too slow to stream content. Maybe cruises just aren’t for me. submitted by /u/Mysterious_Reality_ to r/royalcaribbean [link] [comments]

Disappointment with Royal Caribbean
First time cruiser here, so forgive my ignorance. I’m currently on Symphony of the Seas. There have been some wonderful things about our experience so far, and some not so wonderful things (special shoutout to you, Wonderland). But the one thing I am extremely disappointed in, is the watered down drinks. Now, some of you may not be able to tell. But as a former bartender, and someone who enjoys a drink… If after 9 Tito’s martinis and I’m still completely sober, something’s up. I just asked for a shot of Tito’s, and my suspicions were confirmed. The alcohol is 100%, I repeat, 100%, beyond a shadow of a doubt, watered down. And when I say watered down, I mean your drink is roughly 20-30% of your alcohol, mixed with water. It’s not even a 50/50. They are bamboozling us. A shot of vodka should burn, at least a bit. I’m sick of being completely sober while simultaneously being stomach full and bloated from the liquid consumption. Hey, at least I won’t be hung over tomorrow, I guess? PS: The service has been outstanding. Shout out to all the folks working the ship. They are amazing. But, Never again. submitted by /u/Marcozy14 to r/Cruise [link] [comments]

What tips do you have for first-time cruisers on Royal Caribbean?
As someone who is gearing up for my first Royal Caribbean cruise, I'm excited yet a bit overwhelmed by all the options and experiences available. I want to make the most of my time onboard and at the ports of call. What are some essential tips you would recommend for first-timers? Are there must-see shows or activities that I shouldn't miss? How about dining or shore excursions - what's worth splurging on? Any advice on navigating the ship or maximizing the cruise experience would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hearing your insights! submitted by /u/maopro56 to r/royalcaribbean [link] [comments]

DO NOT CRUISE WITH ROYAL CARIBBEAN! My 21 month old son was assaulted and they do not care!!
On June 27, 2025 around 9:30am, while walking toward the elevators to exit the terminal, my 21-month-old son, just had a tantrum and was trying to clam down in his stroller. I gave him my phone to watch Ms. Rachel and his crying and screaming stopped. I kept hearing "mind your business," keep it moving" from a young man's mother; the young man was approximately 20 years old. He kept looking at my son with anger and was very vigilant. As we approach the elevator, the young man lunged at my son and attempted to yank him out of the stroller by his legs. This was a terrifying and unprovoked act, and it could have caused serious injury or worse had my brother-in-law not immediately tackled and restrained the attacker. The individual’s mother, who had earlier stated to us that her son is autistic, made no effort to remove him from the situation, provide him with headphones, or request an escort or accommodation to exit separately—despite visible signs of escalation and her own repeated attempts to verbally redirect him. This deeply disturbing event occurred in a family-packed terminal with children everywhere. My family and I were shocked by the lack of preparedness, response, and proactive measures from both the parents involved and terminal staff. Royal emailed me the following in several replies: To provide clarity on our policies, you may refer to our Guest Conduct Policy available at this link: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/guest-terms/guest-health-safety-and-conduct-policy/english/ — which is also included in your booking invoice. This policy emphasizes the importance of responsible supervision by parents and guardians, particularly for minors and young adults, throughout the entire voyage, including disembarkation and port activities. It underscores that guardians are responsible for ensuring appropriate behavior and supervision at all times. We understand the gravity of this incident and will share your feedback with our Operations Team for internal review to assess our procedures and identify potential areas for improvement in managing behaviors and ensuring safety during disembarkation. Rest assured, any measures we implement will be aimed at preventing similar occurrences in the future and all information will remain confidential. Additionally, we have forwarded your comments to our operational teams for review. While this remains an internal process and results are confidential, please rest assured that we are committed to evaluating and improving our procedures where possible. I contacted the Port Authority, they told me to contact the municipal court and the court said I could file a report, go to court, but this does not confirm that the cruise line will ban this individual from traveling again. I circled back with Royal Caribbean on their "review," but nothing. This means that the cruise line DOES NOT CARE about your safety. If you have a young child and they get hurt on the ship or on their property, they will not ban the person. My son could have died and I am appalled they are not doing ANYTHING. I want as many people to know my story because they are not hearing me at all! #CruiseSafety, #RoyalCaribbean submitted by /u/Only-Establishment29 to r/Cruises [link] [comments]
