@scrapperlisa It may not be as crispy and may be a little soft or soggy if the breaded chicken is heated by microwave. Texture may be less than ideal but it will not affect taste at all. Oven at 350 is better, or a toaster oven or an air fryer, but I would feel willing to microwave it for convenience. Eating with satisfaction and simplicity is your call.

Buying a toaster oven + air fryer combo, thoughts?
After my last post about toaster ovens, a few people suggested getting one with an air fryer built in, especially if you’re cooking for one. That actually sounds like the smarter move. The model I found is $85 on Amazon, but Buyhatke chrome extension shows the average price is closer to $61. Is $85 still reasonable for these, or do they usually drop back down during sales? If you own one of these combo units, does the air fryer part actually work well? submitted by /u/carebear7077 to r/LivingAlone [link] [comments]

PFAS-free/non-toxic toaster ovens?
I’m trying to buy a really good compact toaster oven that’s genuinely PFAS/PTFE/PFOA-free, ideally under $200, and I’m stuck after spending way too many hours researching. What I’m trying to avoid: Any PTFE/Teflon / “non-stick” coatings on any interior surface or rack. I don't mind swapping the baking trays. Vague “non-toxic” claims with no clear info on materials What I want: Ideally stainless steel Excellent everyday performance especially as a toaster. I prefer a compact size as I don't need a convection oven or air-fryer combo. Any ideas? Would appreciate any recommendations and sources. I've looked at Breville (PTFE-coated), Panasonic FlashXpress (only their air-fryer combo one is PFAS-free), Ninja (no real compact option), Our Place Wonder Oven (has its critiques/design flaws) submitted by /u/Pristine_Computer_50 to r/nontoxic [link] [comments]

Air fryer / air fryer toaster oven recommendations
Hello all, We're looking to buy an air fryer or air fryer toaster oven in Canada. I have been looking at the usual brands: Ninja, Cuisinart, Instant Pot but hear that these don't seem to last more than 3-4 years. I was hoping that buy something that lasts longer (BuyItForLife or at least 10 years 😅). I see related posts but nothing specific on durability. Any suggestions or advice? Thank you in advance! submitted by /u/Formal_Boss3652 to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

do I need an air fryer?
A relative recently visited us from out of state, and after they left they ordered us a Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer, compact size, as a gift. I'm a little bewildered, because we already have a toaster oven that they used while visiting. Perhaps they didn't like it? I've had it since the 90s, haha but it's going strong and my family has zero complaints about it. I know nothing about air fryers. I see this one costs $250. We don't eat french fries, or fried chicken, nor do we heat up frozen things like hot pockets or whatever. We do eat a lot of toast, and I heard that an air fryer is good for roasting veggies, which we do like eating. We already have one of those split ovens with a small upper oven so we can cook with an oven in a smaller, more efficient space. We generally reheat leftovers in the microwave. Looking for feedback on whether to keep, or trade this air fryer in for a new wok that we need. 11/25/25 update - We're keeping it. I read all 302 comments haha and the ones praising it for fish and veggies convinced me to at least give it a try. It was a generous gift! submitted by /u/Alaska-Pete to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

Air fryer toaster oven recommendations!
Hello!! As Black Friday is approaching, I want to get an air fryer/ toaster oven combo. I am just a single person and not looking at anything perfect, but will mostly use it to toast bread, reheat food and airfry frozen stuff. So far I have been looking at brands like Cosori, Cuisinart, Our Place, Ninja. From y’all experiences I want any honest recommendations on which I should or should NOT get. For example seen many people claiming the Cuisinart ones catch fire and I live in an apartment so that would be a definite no. Or some do not heat/toast evently etc. I also do not want to spend too much so definitely something that’s good enough without dropping hundreds (budget CAD$200 ish) Bonus if it’s stainless steel and without any toxic non-stick chemicals/materials. Appreciate any help!! submitted by /u/math_uwu to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

Ninja wants me to pay $329 to replace my $250 air fryer that rusted after 8 months - 43 minute call from hell
Bought a Ninja Foodi SP351 air fryer/toaster oven from Amazon for $250 in December 2024. Found rust inside the unit last week (after only 8 months of normal use). Called customer service today and... wow. They asked to send a picture and when they saw the picture, she said it’s misused. I asked how she knows that by just looking at the picture. She said it’s what it looks like. Claimed their warranty only covers returns in the first month The rust is inside The supervisor wanted to troubleshoot the rust lol. He asked me irrelevant questions for 20+ minutes (does it make noise? does the display work?) Supervisor said he was "the highest of the highest" and no one else could help Suggested I clean the rust with baking soda (I already tried cleaning - it's actual rust, not dirt) Finally offered a "replacement" for $329 - MORE than I paid originally I have the full call recorded and the rust photos. The call is incredibly frustrating to listen to they bounce between “no” and “maybe” while never actually honoring the warranty. What can I do at this point? submitted by /u/LankaRunAway to r/Appliances [link] [comments]

Looking for recommendations - toaster oven air fryer combo
Hello, I need to cook more at home. I would like a toaster oven/ air fryer combo for the countertop. I’d like a nice size capacity— i’m seeing some say “6 slices of bread” or certain size pizza. I see pictures with some height indicating users could roast a chicken! Reviews are all over the place. Looking for good value, ease of use, longevity, dishwasher safe parts. I have access to memberships at sam’s and costco. If you have a favorite, please let me know. Thank you very much in advance. submitted by /u/sensitiveobserver to r/Frugal [link] [comments]

Too many appliances/gadgets. I’m drawing the line at the air fryer.
I just realized my kitchen is more full of appliances and gadgets than food. I have a large kitchen aid food processor & parts, large kitchen aid mixer & parts, ninja blender & parts, small food processor, smaller food processor, spiralizer, hand blender, soda stream, old crockpot, small crockpot, ninja crockpot, instapot, ice cream maker, muli food mill, hand grater, manual slicer, rice cooker, george forman griddle, waffle maker, electric knife, toaster oven, convection/toaster oven (this thing is huge!), and electric griddle. That is not even the pots and pans. Now everyone is talking about air fryers… I’m just done and not falling for it. Glad everyone loves them but I have a lifetime of recipes that just need a regular stove. I will still die happy without an air fryer. EDIT: after reading a bunch of the replies I realized you all are the reason I have so many gadgets. I come from a long line of thrifters. So my family is buying what you are discarding. And I’m inheriting their stuff. I didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until I started to pull it out of all the hiding places in my kitchen. I know its the circle of life but I need to get off this wheel and set these things free again. But yes I’ll take my sisters air fryer and give it a try. submitted by /u/4travelers to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

AITA taking the air fryer from my apartment with me while I travel
I(23f) live with two people(both women in their 20s) and part of my job involves driving around and travelling. Never international(yet at least) and it isn't glamorous. I stay at cheap motels So be the clear. The airfryer is MINE. I bought it fully with my own money. There are other things in the apartment like my roommate bought a blender and my other roommate bought a coffee machine and toaster oven etc. I don't mind if others use the airfryer as it just sits on the counter. Because it is mine, if I am home and someone wants to use it they will ask me first because I might be wanting to make something soon. And it is the same with other people's appliances, we all ask. The only communal item is the oven/stove and microwave. In the last year I have been travelling a lot more and to save money on food expenses, I bring the airfryer with me. I also like eating healthy and don't want to eat out often. So with the money work gives me for food expenses. I just buy raw meat and vegetables and store them in a cooler in the car if I am on the road. And when I am lodging somewhere I put them in the fridge. When the time comes I'll just plug in my airfryer and season them up and toss them inside. I also have a small rice cooker and will do that as well. My one roommate doesn't really care but this PISSES off my other roommate. The first time it happened she blew up my phone. She said she had food cut and ready to be air fried but couldn't do it. She was pissed when I got back and said that I can't just take appliances. I told her that it is my appliance and I can do as I please. I told her and this is where I could be an asshole that "I wouldn't throw a bitch fit if you took the blender with you." She said that she uses the airfryer for most of her meals and meal prep. I said "use the oven or stove when I am gone." She said she uses it to reheat her food and that the microwave just isn't as good. I don't think any of this is my problem. If it is REALLY that important to her. I feel like she could just pick up an airfryer herself. I told her this and she said they are too expensive(which they aren't) but I just said it isn't my problem. Recently I was on the road for a whole month and I did a lot of cooking. To the point where I saved money and was able to just do fun things with that extra money. And stuff like this has happened before. She's taken her blender places and our other roommate took her coffee machine when she was staying somewhere else. I don't see why this is my problem. Maybe I could be partially the asshole for not warning her the first time. But it is mine so I just don't see the point. submitted by /u/hellasgoofy to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

Purchased our Cuisinart Air Fryer from Costco in 2021….
Got our air fryer on sale at Costco back in 2021 ($140 I believe), and the knob stopped working properly. Called Cuisinart customer support and they shipped out a brand new one for free! There’s a 3 year warranty on this air fryer and I really didn’t want to have to take the whole thing back into the store. A chef explaining why air fryers are a scam on r/unpopularopinion
As a chef, it’s an insult to hear “air fryers are as good as frying”. Air fryers are fucking bullshit scams and are just convection ovens with an extra fan added. Seriously, pan searing or regular baking will always be better. I swear to shit Jared if I hear you compare fried chicken to air fried chicken one more time I’m gonna smack the gob out of you. Edit: I’m in danger, I never realized how deep the air fryer fandom goes. I will die on this hill Edit2: I’ll never stop upvoting and loving you all but… but I’m just gonna go cry about something totally different.. Edit3: i think id be a lot less upset if it was called an “extra air oven” as its a convection oven with extra fans. Edit4: if I had a dollar for every comment “you clearly don’t own an air fryer” I’d be able to put it towards a new toaster oven. Do yourself a favour and get a toaster oven
Do you live alone? Or cook separate meals from your partner/family due to dietary needs? Do you need something to make healthy food quickly and easily without a huge mess? Get a toaster oven. I never had one before last year, and never had an interest in getting one. Then one fateful Christmas 2019 morning, there it is, under my pile of opened gifts. My first thought was, "why would I ever need this?" Well let me tell you why I need this and why you need this as well. Want a single baked sweet potato in 15-20 minutes? Done. Want a single baked chicken breast or other portion of meat? Easy. Want to roast a small tray of veggies for yourself that will be good for only a couple days? Yessir. Seriously this thing is awesome. I've eliminated so much food waste from not over cooking and letting leftovers go to waste. Not to mention not having to wait 20 minutes for the oven to preheat, for a couple items that could easily fit in the toaster oven. Save yourself money, time and energy and go get a toaster oven. Please share any quick and easy healthy toaster oven recipes you have! Would love to read some. Edits: Thank you for all the Iove on this, did not think this would get so much attention! Some lovely commentors have brought up some great points: Air fryers are apparently better. Well, I need to do some digging on this and see! Toaster ovens are also good for baking. Texas summers sound awful, but are much better with a toaster oven! Shout out to my Texas peeps. There is no match for reheating pizza in a toaster oven. This is a fact. To everyone stating that all these things can be done in an oven: Yes. You're correct. The benefits of the toaster oven are: A) Not heating up your whole house for the sake of a small meal (especially in the summer) B) Saving yourself on bills (and the planet) by using way less energy C) Reheating food quickly and easily without it getting soggy, D) Not having to wait for the preheat time on your oven (especially if your oven has a long preheat time). submitted by /u/Vanoice to r/EatCheapAndHealthy [link] [comments]
