Are apartments worth rerunning?
Got to the apartments for the first time. Stressed as heck because permadeath is now active. I searched literally every apartment and the loot was disappointing. Only 3 of the 50+ military crates had loot and I only found one special crate. The loot inside was garbage. The best find I got out of the whole multi hour escapade was a coffee machine and a beer. Left a man I just met sleeping in my apartment
I am living alone for the first time in a while and went on a first date. I suggested he come over to swim at my place, and then we could go out for drinks. However, he told me as I was coming back from work that he had brought his bags. I guess I thought he would leave after, but he didn't. Anyway, the next morning we had a very good time, it was a lot of fun, but I had to leave for work this morning, and he is still at my place. I left at 8:30. It is now 9:30. I messaged him to please turn off the AC before he leaves and to say I had a great time. However, he has not answered at what point I should freak out and believe he is robbing me. Or do people think he just genuinely slept in that long? Maybe I can drive home at lunch and see. Anyways any advice would be great, I will also accept people telling me how stupid I am. I at least took my passport, cards, money, and electronics with me to work, so the important stuff is safe. Edit: I feel like I should clarify he is solo travelling across Asia and thats why he had bags. Update: Didn't expect such varied advice. Um, anyway, it's enough for me to be spiralling, so I called him, and there was no response. I then texted him, "you alive" as one person suggested. Idk, maybe some people sleep in until 10:30, and we were up until like 3 am, but I don't think it's normal to sleep in that long at someone else's house. He just called me back and said that he just woke up, and to be fair, it sounded like it. I am still going to go back at lunch, but he said he would leave soon. Update 2: I got home and he literally made the bed and did dishes so kind. I think I was just hungover and anxious because of it. But I am very much safe and he is gone. Sorry to all the people who like to sleep in that I offended I just normally wake up with the sun that’s why it seems so foreign to me, but also maybe it’s more culturally normal in North America to sleep late into the day during the week. submitted by /u/Revolutionaries14 to r/Advice [link] [comments]

List of apartments to avoid
Starting a thread for people to share specific, firsthand experiences with apartments to help others make informed decisions in 2026. Please stick to factual experiences and timelines where possible. Here’s mine from Mirada Apartments in Lewis Center: Timeline / Pattern I Experienced: Over the past ~5 months, there was a noticeable decline in upkeep and responsiveness. During this period, management/ownership appeared to change multiple times within a year (3 to be exact), which may have contributed to inconsistency. Specific Issues Observed: Maintenance & Repairs Multiple maintenance requests were submitted but either delayed significantly or not resolved. In some cases, items were not repaired or replaced at all despite follow-up. I’m aware of neighbors who went months without functional balcony sliding doors, reportedly due to budget constraints. Amenities & Upkeep Shared amenity areas repeatedly lacked basic supplies like paper towels and soap for 5+ months. The coffee machine has been out of service since around Christmas last year with no clear resolution timeline. Overall cleanliness and restocking of common areas were inconsistent. Pest Control Recurring pest-related concerns that did not appear to be fully resolved despite reporting. They still dont want to do anything about cochroaches and spiders. Management / Operations Frequent ownership/management changes created confusion and inconsistency in how issues were handled. Communication was often unclear or delayed when trying to follow up on concerns. Tenant Experience / Concerns Some interactions and observations involving staff made me personally uncomfortable in terms of how tenants were monitored or approached. lawsuit with OCRC with retaliatory behaviors so they hired a lawyer to cover up for them Overall Impression: Based on my experience, there seemed to be a pattern of delayed maintenance, inconsistent management, and declining upkeep of amenities that didn’t match expectations for the cost of rent. Would be interested to hear if others have experienced similar issues here or at other complexes. submitted by /u/georgiatechatlwaddup to r/Columbus [link] [comments]

I actually HAVE an apartment recommendation
I am NOT being compensated in any way for this post. I'm just a normal person who got sick of living in "luxury" crap, finally found something nice, and want to share. I've lived at Park at Westover Hills for 2, almost 3 months now and I still can't say enough positive. It's not just bare minimum, it's above and beyond for what you pay. The staff is phenomenal. I had a few minor issues at move in and maintenance was there in minutes. They even compensated me an extra $500 off rent for the "inconvenience" (it wasn't even that bad). That's held up, too. Maintenance comes that day or the morning of the next for any work orders, and does the WHOLE job. Not just patches it until it breaks again. I really consider the staff similar to a work friend. Obviously we don't spend personal time together, but whenever I'm in the office for any reason we end up chatting. They're responsive and actually answer the phone. The apartments are well kept (they are newer construction) but they were built with quality materials. And the amenities. Y'all. WHEN I TELL YOU this is the ONLY place I've ever lived where I'll use the community spaces at all, much less just to sit and chill. The grounds are beautiful with tons and tons of outdoor spaces to sit and read, socialize, or just wander around and have some outside time. The pool looks like something you'd find at a vacation resort. There's "green egg" grills, 2 gigantic dog parks, and an indoor dog wash (I have cats but my best girlfriend will bring her dog to get clean and have some social time sometimes). The landscaping is beautiful and they've planted herbs in many places. Grab some rosemary for your chicken. The gym is professional-level and can be used 24 hrs. It's not an airplane bathroom with a treadmill that doesn't work and half a set of free weights. There's multiple machines - preacher curls, leg machines, dumbells and barbells, steppers, bikes, treadmills, *a power rack*..... Indoor common spaces are also fantastic. There's a big screen sports simulator. Golf, baseball, football..... $6k espresso machine, free for use. 2 co-working spaces. Table games. Pool table and that area can be rented out for parties. I'm sure there's a lot more I'm forgetting. Pricing: TOTALLY reasonable for what you get. I have a "studio".... which is actually a small 1 bedroom. It has walls and a door. And it's 100 sq ft BIGGER than the "small one bedroom" in the garbage I last left. Full size washer and dryer. Patio. Altogether I pay $1300. Think of that split if you're a couple without a lot of stuff. The next size 1 bedroom starts at $1300, with fees would be around $1400. Yes, if you want a decent place you're going to pay a little more. But I toured several other complexes in this area, that weren't half as nice and didn't have half these amenities and it was a price difference of only $100-150 less. There's still plenty of units available since they actually just finished construction last year. Traffic can be crap in this area, yea. But I work super close so that's not a big issue for me to have an apartment that actually feels like a home. submitted by /u/Far-Spread-6108 to r/sanantonio [link] [comments]

Landlord asked me to keep quiet during apartment showings
Moving out of my apartment in 3 months, and my landlord immediately started showing my apartment after getting notice of vacating, occasionally with less than 24 hours notice. The realtor couldn't answer all questions, so they differed to me for some questions. Everything I said is factual. Got asked about bugs, being a basement apartment, I showed the spray I had to use, and said the landlord only offers pest control once per lease, otherwise they state it is the tenant's expense. Sometimes I make note of things unprompted like, "I have a recycling can, but the landlord does not have recycling pickup," when asked about the garbage fee, or "just be aware, this apartment is right next to the machine room for the elevator. It's not constant noise, but if you are sitting in the living room, you'll know when someone uses the elevator," or "there's a light above the side entrance door that needs to be kept on at night for safety reasons, and that light comes straight through the door window and into the apartment. If you have guests sleepover, you might want to look into a curtain." Landlord was unable to lease the apartment on first day of showings and hit me with a "please keep commentary to yourself if possible. The longer we are not able to lease the apartment, the longer we have to keep showing your apartment to your inconvenience." If the landlord can't sell the apartment with fairly levelheaded transparency on the issues, he should either fix the issues (as I've asked in the past) or lower the price. "Free market" and all that. I don't mind the prospective tenants. My dog loves them. submitted by /u/TheKowzunOne to r/Apartmentliving [link] [comments]

New to this apartment & not feeling safe now
I moved to this apartment March 1st. I was assigned to a spot in the garage. When I attempted to park there the first night there was someone parked there. I emailed the office & they said they would contact the person parked there and if they didn't hear back a tow would be initiated. They followed up saying the tow was going to occur on a certain day. It didn't, so I emailed management again. Finally on Tuesday night I checked and the spot was empty, I thought it was handled so I parked there Tuesday night and last night. Well, this is what I came down to this morning. The duct tape on that note was in a million tiny pieces and it took me 30 minutes to finish getting it off. I am a single woman with a daughter who ran from a domestic situation. I take our safety incredibly seriously. Of course I called and emailed management right away and will file a police report, but how would you handle this? I have never had to deal with something like this in all my years of renting. **UPDATE*** Was able to speak with management, they notified me this person's lease will be terminated immediately. They also let me pick from any other open spot (she did stress this spot was NEVER signed out to anyone else so this person is clearly unhinged for something that isn't even theirs.) and said they DO have cameras in the garage, which they will provide to police. They encouraged me to file a report which I will be doing today. I'm sure I will need some sort of protection order because I am sure I'm a target to this person now. Thanks for all of the helpful advice & encouragement! **2nd update** Filed the police report. They said no charges can really be pressed since there was no "real" damage to my car and no threats to my physical harm... so I contacted management again, asked if I could be notified when this person no longer has access to the building & asked if I could park in a different building until then. Sorry I can't reply to all the comments but I appreciate you all for the kind words submitted by /u/Alpal2510 to r/Apartmentliving [link] [comments]

(42M) I'm leaving Seattle. I'll miss this apartment.
Way back in 2008, I crashed at a cousin's high-rise apartment in Tribeca, NYC, and left dreaming of some day living in a place like that. A dozen years later, I landed this apartment in Downtown Seattle. I'm moving abroad soon, after 24+ years in this city, 5+ in this home. Will I miss this view? Absolutely. Will I miss the rent payments? Not so much. Side note: Thanks to everyone in this community! I've been lurking here for years, and it really helped me dial in my taste. submitted by /u/DrObvious83 to r/malelivingspace [link] [comments]

Apartments you actually enjoyed living in?
Any particular complexes or companies you’ve actually had good renting experiences with? Trying to move soon and it’s been very hard to find places that seem decent 😞 submitted by /u/Mean_Refrigerator911 to r/rva [link] [comments]

my PC before vs after apartment fire
a fire completely obliterated my apartment just over 2 weeks ago. i built my first PC by myself in July 2025. my 2x32 GB ram was $250 at the time, and now its $950. what a time to be alive EDIT: specs typo. Also, I am so overwhelmed by the love and support this post has gotten during this tragic time in my life. Thank you thank you thank you EDIT 2: because many people have asked: - my case was the Hyte y70. My liquid cooler was the part with the screen, the TRYX Panorama SE 360 AIO liquid cooler. - the fire was caused by an electrical failure in the attic. fire investigators think it also may be largely due to critters in the attic chewing on wires. The building I was living in was over 100 years old. - no humans were harmed in the fire and everyone in the building made it out safely. I had a friend staying with me with 2 of her cats. Due to extremely unfortunate circumstances, one of her cats did not make it. We had a very beautiful burial for her and she has been put to rest. Her other cat is in good health and is making a full recovery. submitted by /u/sprezzaturaz to r/pcmasterrace [link] [comments]

America is falling apart.
America is falling apart under the current administration, and I’m beyond fed up with it. I’m exhausted by the nonstop defense of this president by die-hard supporters, no matter what he does. There’s no justification for it. People were misled. Conservatives were promised fiscal responsibility and a reduction in the national debt, yet in less than a year the debt has increased by roughly $2.3 trillion and continues to rise. At the same time, the president has taken frequent vacations and participated in leisure events—such as attending the Army–Navy game and hosting large, high-profile events at the White House—all funded by taxpayers. I’m tired of the hypocrisy, the excuses, and the refusal to acknowledge reality. This isn’t leadership, and it isn’t sustainable. submitted by /u/Old_Swimmer_7284 to r/complaints [link] [comments]

40M living in a subsidised government apartment
Got my own space after living with my parents for 40 years. Now living on my own at the western part of Singapore. Anything else you think I can do? Edit: Thank you guys for the upvote and compliments! Never imagined that it would cause a stir. Responses to FAQs: Chair: HÅG Capisco Puls 8020 Monitor: Samsung M5/M50D 32" Smart Monitor Desk setup: I placed the desk in this configuration because it also serves as my TV console. When I’m not in the mood to work, I just sit on the sofa and use the smart monitor as my TV. Lamp: IKEA VARMBLIXT lamp Mat: Ngh Ngh pooping mat https://shop.wheniwasfour.com/products/ngh-ngh-bath-mat?_pos=18&_sid=1f142d36e&_ss=r Wall paintings: One is a purchase from a painter whom a priest knows, and the other was a gift from the same priest. Lighting: The lights are warm orange, but the iPhone camera autocorrects them to white. I can also adjust the lights to white or warm white. Mahjong nightstand: Can be purchased here: https://lofthome.com/products/modern-resin-side-table-huat Oven placement: The oven ended up on the sink-side counter as a band-aid. The initial plan was to place it near the stove, but it was too close. But it’s a regret I can live with anyway. Decor: Paintings for my bedroom and plants for the house are on the way. Housing in Singapore: Yes, this is a newly built subsidised flat. I live in Singapore, and every citizen is eligible to purchase a flat from the Housing and Development Board (HDB). Single citizens aged 35 and above can purchase either a new 1-bedroom flat with a fresh 99-year lease, or buy any flat type from the resale market through property agents. More details: https://www.hdb.gov.sg/residential/buying-a-flat/understanding-your-eligibility-and-housing-loan-options/flat-and-grant-eligibility/singles Fun fact: About 80% of Singaporean households live in HDB flats. Even fun fact: HDB works with architects and designers in private practice to design flats submitted by /u/jnt85 to r/malelivingspace [link] [comments]
