I tested positive for gonorrhoea. I've been married for 19 years.
I am NOT OOP, OOP is u/25namelessoffmychest Originally posted to r/offmychest I tested positive for gonorrhoea. I've been married for 19 years. Thanks to u/NumbAsHell1 for suggesting this BoRU Trigger Warnings: infidelity Original Post: December 9, 2025 I am still in disbelief. I couldn't believe when I received the test results. I thought it was just a yeast infection. Even after I was tested for a second time the results were still the same. I have gonorrhoea. I've been married for 19 years. We have been in an exclusive relationship since 2001. I've never cheated on my husband, not even once. I'm just heartbroken and still in disbelief. I've been making plans for my husband's next birthday (we're both 44 years old) and our 20th anniversary and meanwhile I had no idea what my husband has been doing. I don't know if there were any signs or if I'm just stupid and missed them. I haven't told anyone yet. I have to make plans and speak to a divorce solicitor before I confront my husband. But I just had to tell someone. We have a 17 year old son. I don't know what I'm going to tell him or what I'm going to tell anyone. I feel absolutely sick. No one else knows yet and I've been pretending that everything is fine. Editor's note: OOP did not leave any relevant comments in this original post Top Comments Commenter 1: Nasty mf doesn't even wrap it when he's cheating. He deserves to he taken for all he's got. Leave his ass in the dust Commenter 2: I'm so incredibly sorry this is happening to you, get treatment. When you do confront him record it or have someone you trust with because he will definitely lose his stuff. See if you can hire a private investigator for proof, go through his phone. Check your finances, get as much proof as you can BEFORE confronting him. Talk to a lawyer as well before confronting him, get your ducks in a row( I know this will be extremely hard) then leave his ass. Take it all Commenter 3: Honestly I would book an appointment with either the doctor who diagnosed you, or with a couples therapist. And discuss this with him in that environment I wouldn’t recommend telling him outside of this situation, as he is clearly cheating and may gaslight/argue with you. You will need a lot of support, and I wish you all the best. I am so very sorry Update: March 15, 2026 (over three months later) Update: I tested positive for gonorrhoea. I've been married for 19 years. Just like with my last post, I am posting this anonymously. I don't want anything about this on my other account. It's hard to talk about this in real life. I moved out 2 weeks ago and my solicitor filed my application for divorce on Tuesday. When I faced my husband before I left and asked him if he was unfaithful he became really quiet. I thought it would turn into an argument, but he just shut down and didn't deny it. After I left he asked me if he could explain but I said no. Our son turned 18 in January, and he's enlisted in the armed forces. He is pretty angry at his father (he knows his father was unfaithful but not that I had gonorrhoea). I haven't told anyone about that. Only my GP and my solicitor know. My solicitor also told me that divorce is no fault, and I only needed to say our marriage has irrevocably broken down. I don't need to have any details about his infidelity, which is good because I don't have any. I went from planning for our 20th anniversary to applying for a divorce and the worst part is I never saw his infidelity coming. Also, if you are going to comment about gonorrhoea being doormat and going undetected for 25 years (including through a pregnancy) before suddenly showing symptoms 3 months ago, spare me. I'll just ignore it. Editor's note: OOP did not leave any comments in this update here Top Comments: Commenter 1: Can he explain?? Oh the audacity...lmao! Sure, he wants to explain so he can dump the excuses onto, OP! OP, Good on you for leaving quietly and quickly. You deserve better and your soon to be ex-husband is an asshat. Commenter 2: Ugh, brutal. OP, depending on the laws in your area - you could check with your local health department and let them know about your D/X - give them his name and they’ll contact him for testing and to advise he’s infected “someone” with an STD, that it’s been verified by a registered physician. It would be the sexual health/infectious disease control dept of your local health dept. WIBTAH if I went to stay with my parents for a couple of weeks because my husband’s family planned a 5-6 week stay in our 2BHK without asking me?
I (29F) got married in December (less than 3 months as of today) after being with my husband (29M) for almost 7 years. One thing I’ve always been very clear about with him, both before and after marriage, is that I need my space and that decisions about people staying in our home should involve both of us. Recently I found out that his sister, her husband, their child, and my in-laws have all booked tickets to come stay with us. That’s about 5-6 weeks. I would be more than happy to host them for 1-2 weeks but 5-6 weeks seems too overwhelming at this stage. The part that really upset me is that no one asked me beforehand. I only found out after everything was already booked. That too when it was asked that how long they were planning to stay. We live in a 2-bedroom apartment in is an extremely hot climate, and this will mean 7 people total in the house in peak summer. My husband will be at work most of the day, so I’ll be the one at home with everyone. There are also lifestyle differences. My in-laws are strict vegetarians (they won’t even let us make eggs at home), while my husband and I both eat non-veg as a staple diet. I already know I’ll have to adjust what I eat at home, what I wear around the house, and generally how I live for that entire time. What hurts more is that this isn’t the first time we’ve discussed boundaries. For years my husband told me he understood that I need space and that he would handle these things with his family. This was the one deal breaker from my end but he always assured me he would make sure I never have to be put in situations like this. But when I brought this up again after finding out about the visit, his response was basically: "What do you want me to do, everything is already booked?" For context, I also moved away from my own family and friends to live where he works, so this house is pretty much my entire world right now. At this point I’m honestly feeling really hurt and disrespected. It feels like decisions about my own home were made without me. I’m considering going to stay with my parents for a couple of weeks while they’re here just to get some space, but they live on the other side of the country so it’s not a small trip, and I’m not sure spending that much would be financially advisable. Also to add, his parents keep coming to visit us for 7-10 days every other month anyways. This was also not discussed with me but in good faith I adjusted. How would you handle something like this? Update: I held my ground and stayed with my parents until he sorted the situation out. He spoke with his parents, and set boundaries. In conclusion, the trip got shortened to 3 weeks (still a lot but manageable). We mutually agreed on not asking them to bluntly cancel this time since that would ruin the relationship in the long run. They were very sweet and polite throughout these conversations. He made sure they knew that during these 3 weeks we would not be playing hosts and they needed to do their share of housework to help. I will also be renting out a co-working space during this time to help me focus on my work rather than stay home, my husband will foot this bill. Apart from this, he also discussed on the frequency of their visits and they agreed to shorter weekend trips going forward. submitted by /u/Majestic-One6602 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

I became a dad last night
Just wanted to share the biggest and happiest moment of my life. Say hello to Theodore ❤️ Edit: Thank you everyone, for all of the kind comments; they've brightned both my wife and i's day greatly. Just wanted to address some of the concerns some of you have, for a child that isn't yours. No, making a reddit post was not the first thing i did, after he was born. The picture is from shortly after the birth, and i waited until both my wife and Theodore had all their needs met, before i made this post (a day and a half after his birth). Why have i/we not blocked out his face and name? Simply said; because we don't have the same ideals and fears that some of you possess. His face is gonna be completely unrecognizeable in 6 months, from what he looks like right now. We're both not that into facebook, instagram, twitter, or other social media; but we both like and use reddit, and wanted to share this momentous achievement with people; strangers or not. A newborn picture often sends someone down their own memory-lane, be it their own children, picture books of themselves, or something entirely else; this seemed like the effect it had on most people, which bringhtned their day, as much as it did ours. Lastly, i want to say that i'm very sorry that you might not feel these happy feelings that most of us did, but you still shouldn't try to force your ideals and mindset onto others, just because theirs differs from yours. submitted by /u/PleaseDonatePot to r/MadeMeSmile [link] [comments]

Update From Brandon
Hey, all! News has broken. Rather than post on all the threads, I figured I would do a new post here with some info and thoughts. In May I flew to Hollywood to start looking for a new partner on the Cosmere. This is something I've done before, but this time it was different. I'd been off the market for many years, working with Epic and my friends there. That means this was my first time being in Hollywood with my Cosmere rights since...oh, 2016? This time, I got to meet the real decision makers. Not just producers or low level executives. And this led to some really tough choices. I got the red carpet treatment, and liked everyone I met. The decision to pick Apple was due to two factors. First, the level of approvals and control. Apple wants to be a true partner with me, and they feel like they really get what I want to do. Second, their track record. Apple does fewer things, but with higher quality, than some other studios. I find virtually every thing of theirs I watch is excellent and creator driven. Join me for a livestream on Friday, probably 6pm mountain. I'll talk more then. But I will be writing the Mistborn screenplay myself over the next 5 months, as my full time work. Goal is for a theatrical Mistborn, then Stormlight show after. Focus on doing it carefully and right. I promise not to get too distracted to do books. However, if I want this done right, I need to give some real attention and heart to it now. Brandon submitted by /u/mistborn to r/Cosmere [link] [comments]

Today I had the most entitled client of my career and I still can’t process what happened
Earlier today, I had a new client book me for a mobile massage. I’ve never worked on this woman (possibly in her early 30’s) before so because of that, I make sure to go through all expectations well before the massage and ensure that my clients get every bit of what they are paying for. So we did just that. We chatted for about 5 minutes before we got started and she was really kind. She went into detail about exactly what she wanted and she asked for a 1.5 hour massage, told me exactly what areas to focus on, she had zero areas to avoid “pain points” and had reported no pain so all was golden as far as I could tell. So we finalize everything and start the massage. As we are going, I make it a point every 15-30 minutes to check in and ask questions to ensure everything was exactly what she wanted. Every time I ask she enthusiastically said “it was perfect” and that she “was super relaxed” so we kept going. Now…once her 1.5 hours hit, I decided to take an additional 15 minutes to give her a scalp massage, hot towel, and even hot stones. Again, this is AFTER the massage. This is just something I’ve always added on for my clients as a thank you. And again, I made all of this very clear that this was FREE and on me. As we are wrapping up and I am putting up all my stuff and getting ready to have her get up and change, she suddenly says to me: “Wait, was that a deep tissue massage? I wanted a relaxing massage, the pressure was too hard for me.” I politely replied: “Oh no, that’s what we agreed upon and I asked you about pressure along the way and you said it was perfect? Did I miss something?” She then sits up, looks at me and says: “Um no. So I definitely am not tipping you at all for something I didn’t even want…that is not what I asked for. If you were a good massage therapist, you’d give me more time and make sure I am taken care of” And when I tell you HOW FAST I told her to get her ass off my table, pay me and lose my number. 😡 submitted by /u/Best-Pirate5073 to r/EntitledPeople [link] [comments]

(Loved Trope) Reoccurring character gains more and more injuries as the series progresses. Basically turning into an entirely different person. (bonus points if it’s an antagonist)
Cricket from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: This one is pretty popular so I wont go into as much detail but basically cricket started off as a priest and repeatedly has his life ruined by the gang, he lost his priesthood after dee baited him into believing she was in love with him, causing him to quit. after becoming homeless the gang got him addicted to crack, had his leg broken by the mafia, got a eye scar from working at a dog pound, etc. He repeatedly has his life ruined by the gang, anytime he seems to be recovering, he gets completely ruined again. Alvin the Treacherous from the How to Train your Dragon books: My favorite example of this, Alvin starts off the series as a seemingly minor antagonist and then becomes the primary villain of the books. he starts off by tricking hiccup into finding a treasure for him. he lost his arm in a booby trapped coffin before the series started and throughout the books is constantly on a hunt for the 10 lost things that would allow him to become the king of wilderwest. over the course of the series he: gets swallowed whole by a Monstrous Strangler, losing all his hair from the digestive juices, Fell off a balloon into a sea of Sharkworms, losing his eye and a leg from the feeding frenzy, had his nose melted off from being swallowed by a fire dragon, went from very slender to extremely buff, developed a terrible rash all over his body that got so bad at one point he wore a metal mask to hide his disfigured face, and he fell into a burning forest. he survived all of these things and he is still so obsessed with killing hiccup and completing his goal he doesnt realize how much he’s changed. I think it’s a great aspect of his character that reflects his personality a lot. I wont spoil his fate but it’s very satisfying imo Joshua from Clarence: This one is kind of a gag but he is occasionally a minor antagonist in some episodes. His appearances do fall off as the show goes on but he’s still a perfect example of one of these characters. Joshua starts with just a scar from a off screen fight with sumo, he then has a chunk of his hair bitten off by sumo, a goat bites one of his ears off, he slips and a fork lands on his eye, loses his hand from falling off a train. basically looks like a completely different character by the end of the series. did he deserve any of this? probably not. submitted by /u/DaveyTheDuck to r/TopCharacterTropes [link] [comments]

AITA if I cancel hubby's birthday plans and leave the house leaving hubby to host his family for my birthday?
I only have four days to make a decision. I have been going back and forth trying to decide if I should cancel my husbands birthday reservations I made for him at this really cool indoor golf place followed by reservations for dinner. He's always commented on wanting to try both and I thought it would make a nice gift. His birthday is only a few days after mine. For Christmas he legit took the time to buy and wrap me a box of diapers for our daughter in the next size up and presented it to me as my gift. I'm still angry about that. No, gag gifts for Christmas has never been a thing between us. Last year he got me a spatula and I thought this year he would do better after the falling out we had over the spatula. A little bit of Background info: Our daughter is now two months old and we have been working on replacing the floor and painting our home since before she was born with the goal of having it done before she can crawl. Over the summer he did the nursery floor and in the fall, a week before she was born, he did the flooring in our older son's room. Mind you, the flooring was given to us for free from my dad, and my dad bought my husband his own miter saw for Christmas to get the job done so we would no longer have to borrow his. I do all the painting. This past week as we have been clearing things out of our bedroom for me to do the painting and him the flooring he brought up my birthday. He said, "wow, all this work for your birthday gift." I said "Excuse me, what gift? He said "All the work of putting the flooring in our bedroom, but don't worry I'll still do a dinner for you and we can invite your mom and my family, what do you want me to cook?" I said "I would like to just have a quiet birthday dinner, you, me and the kids at Longhorn Steak House, come home and watch a movie together. Also, the flooring is not my gift. This is something we've been planning now for a year. And with the house torn up, I don't want to host anyone in our home especially after having hosted for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Besides we don't even have a place for people to sit. We have all the bedroom furniture, and our clothing in the living room. I'm currently sleeping on the mattress on the floor in here. Plus, I'm not a fan of your brother coming over so you two can sit and just drink beer all evening while I watch our and his kids." He said no, I'm going to cook at home, just tell me what you want me to cook. I said "Ok, I want to do steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans." (But there is a problem here, he can't make mashed potatoes to save his life and only likes green beans if their boiled. I like fresh green beans slowly sautéed with olive oil, garlic and herbs. So if I want it cooked this way, I will have to do it.) He said "no, we're not doing steak, it will cost to much if the family comes over. I'll just do a chicken." I lost it. I said again, "For MY birthday... I DO NOT want people over." He kept arguing the issue and I said "fine, do what you want for my birthday." Side note: Last year, he ordered the traditional tres leches cake but he ordered it with peaches. I hate peaches, he likes peaches. I like strawberries. Plus, my name was spelled wrong on the birthday cake, he thought it was hilarious. I am now seriously considering cancelling his b-day golf outing & dinner reservations, leaving home if he invites his family for my birthday, buying him a box of diaper wipes and presenting it with a card that says "Happy birthday. I painted the house for you." Would I be the Asshole? Update: Birthday plans: I have since logged in and cancelled his birthday golf outing and dinner reservations for next week. Tomorrow is my birthday and his day off work so he will be watching baby as I have also booked myself for a 90 minute massage. After that I will be stopping by Starbuck for my favorite drink and one hour of un-interrupted time with my new book that my son got me for Christmas. Then I will be picking him up from school and taking him to go see a movie. I will round off the day by coming home, taking a long hot bubble bath, ordering DoorDash and ending my day holding baby girl. That sounds like an amazing birthday to me. For him, I will just be getting him a card that reads "Happy Birthday, I painted the house for you." The bag will contain a case of diaper wipes. If he looks disappointed, I will just tell him "I cancelled the Golf outing and dinner reservations and instead go this bulk pack of wipes; the perfect gift to accompany the box of diapers you got me for Christmas." He will get the message. Divorce: As for the people advocating for divorce, kicking him to the curb, leaving with the kids in the middle of the night, claiming that he isn't a good husband to me and father to our baby, please know that you only got one little glimpse into our life. He is a loving and caring father to our children. We struggled with infertility for a very long time so this baby was a surprise but a welcomed blessing. Every day I prayed to not miscarry and even feared death during labor as my pregnancy was high-risk. He took a month off of work to care for me as I recovered from 3 degree tearing and a bruised tailbone. Every night he does the night time routine: Bath, pajamas, story time, and rocks baby girl to sleep. While he does that, I do the house reset: dishes, garbage, sweep. He wakes with me for all her feedings and prioritizes my sleep over his to make sure that I am rested enough to care for our daughter during the day. This is the same man who, during pregnancy, cooked me breakfast every morning and massaged my feet every night. Before he leaves for work every day he will make sure I have time to self-care (shower, brush my teeth, eat breakfast, and pump) before handing me the baby (if she's awake). Then he will make sure I am happy on the couch with baby girl and anything I could need before he leaves-blanket, remote, water cup, my phone, phone charger, a clean binky and bottle for baby. As soon as he get's home from work, he will take her and give me 30 minutes to myself before we start talking dinner plans. We make a good team when it comes to daily life. I don't have to make him lists of things to do. I like that when were low on milk, he will just pick it up on his way home without having to be asked and he doesn't wait for a "thank you" like he did me some big favor the way I have seen other men seek gratitude for doing basic tasks. He sucks at gift giving and this year and last year, so yes! I will be doing nothing for him for his birthday. Despite the shitty thoughtless gift and non-birthday birthday plans, I will be holding off on kicking him out and just matching his energy for his birthday. For Christmas 2026, I think I will get him an IKEA toddler bed to assemble for our daughter and call it a day. Birthday update: Yesterday was my birthday. Hubby surprised me with breakfast out at my favorite local spot and we did a Home Depot run for more flooring. After that, I did go for my massage, It was wonderful, and I did stop at Starbuck for my free birthday drink. I didn't have time to sit and read before I had to pick my boy from school, but that's ok. Instead of going to see a movie at the theater we came home and began a Harry Potter Movie marathon. I LOVE Harry Potter. However, my son, without my knowing, had texted my dad and my best friend to come over and surprise me with a visit. He didn't know that I had already had my best friend and her niece scheduled to come over to look through a pile of clothes before I took a large haul to donate at the Salvation Army. It was so much fun watching her niece try on dresses. We wrapped up the night with some pizza and cheesy bread. Hubby surprised me with a little gift: two new books, a pack of my favorite cookies, and a squishy niffler that I can add to my Harry Potter book shelf. Overall, I had a great day. :) submitted by /u/Funny_Leather_5540 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

My experience with 13 cabs in Melbourne
It’s 6am on a Thursday morning, I’ve just finished work and caught a train to beaconsfield station where I decide to call a cab home and use my tips to pay for a trip home. Eventually cab #2274 arrives, and I answer the all too familiar “cash or card” question with cash before he begins the drive home. Now, it’s a trip I take often, it’s usually $20 max in an uber and $25 max in a taxi. We arrive home and the driver tells me the trip was $40, and I notice he hasn’t turned on the meter, I tell him the trip will be $25 and ask if he turned on the meter. He tried to argue, but didn’t have a leg to stand on and begrudgingly takes the money, I assume that would be the end of my dealings with him and go inside. Also personally if I was trying to dodge the tax man I’d pass some savings on to the customer? Since I’m a bartender these 6am cab or uber rides are quite common, and eventually he accepts one of my trips again that’s booked under my name… And cancels. I rebook, he accepts, and cancels again, knowing that it won’t automatically book another cab and that he could stop me getting a taxi and he could keep going until he gets bored. Eventually I choose a random females name and book another taxi to a location nearby, cancelling once he arrives to give him a taste of his own medicine. The driver remembered that I was at Beaconsfield station and decided to come visit. I’m greeted with “I remember you, you’re the one that didn’t pay me”. Of course I disagreed with this comment and we argued until he drove off stating “You’re not going to be able to get another cab”, I can only assume because he’ll personally make sure I won’t. Thankfully my booking went through to another cab quite soon after. Now, this same situation has happened multiple times, and I assume it’s because he starts work at around 6am nearby. I’ve reported it both to Safe Transport Victoria and to 13 cabs and have heard nothing, I would have thought they would stop him from being able to accept my bookings at the very least. Eventually I started fighting fire with fire, I started always booking using a different name and if he happened to accept a booking I’d cancel and send him on wild goose chases with false bookings around the area with false bookings, not the nicest thing I could do, but entertaining nonetheless if I knew he’d try and screw me over anyway. Sometimes this would end with him calling and abusing me over the phone. Now we come to a video I’ve attached of a time I forgot to look at who the driver was and ended up in his car, to my absolute shock he refused to turn the meter on yet again and tries to negotiate cash because he remembers he failed to scam me., but then conveniently claims not to remember me when I bring up him telling me that he’d “fuck my sister”. As you can tell I was quite agitated, after multiple occasions of cancelling my trips, trying to scam me out of more money, verbally abusing and threatening me, and making sexualised comments about my sister, and to top it off I’m getting screwed around after a 12 hour shift and an hour train home. After all this 13cabs has banned my number from making bookings over the phone, and while I don’t blame them, I wish there were better systems in place to protect their customers, both from getting scammed, and by the very least, stopping cabbies from accepting trips from customers that have reported them. Arun definitely hasn’t been the only driver that has tried to scam me, but he is definitely the worst experience I’ve had with a driver. Thanks for reading my rant I guess. The ONE thing in a horror story that's never explained, and is all the scarier for it.
Resident Evil Village: In Donna Beneviento's house, Ethan is stripped of his weapons and forced to solve puzzles in her basement, when he suddenly comes across... this thing. We don't know if it's even real or not, since there's a lot of mindfuckery in this level, but unlike Donna's living dolls we're never given an explanation behind it, even in the developer's notes. We're not sure if it's a hallucination, a very realistic doll, an actual B.O.W., or whatever other option there is. Five Nights at Freddy's 2: Very rarely, shadowy versions of Freddy and Bonnie can appear on your cameras. These have never appeared again in the series and none of the later lore ever ties back to them directly. Shadow Bonnie even appears for a split-second in the film version of FNAF 2, with no acknowledgement of its existence from the characters. Dead by Daylight: The Unknown - In a game where all the Killers have a dedicated backstory inspired by classic slasher movie or survival horror archetypes, The Unknown takes after Creepypasta and Analog Horror monsters and, true to its name, has nothing about it directly explained. Its lore entry is entirely based around a reporter attempting to figure it out from a mishmash or hearsay and speculation before it finds her and is subsequently abducted by The Entity. Coraline: It's more apparent in the book than in the movie, but the tunnel to the Other Mother's world Coraline eventually realizes is part of a living creature, "very old and very slow", much bigger, older and more powerful than the Other Mother, and apparently it only ever noticed Coraline at the moment she crawls through it for the final time. submitted by /u/Electronic_Bad_5883 to r/TopCharacterTropes [link] [comments]

Celebrities Who are Actual Nerds
A lot of celebrities are fairly vapid, even those related to nerdy stuff. And sometimes they're just normal people collecting a paycheck. I don't expect a voice actor to understand every facet of a video game or cartoon they do work for. However, sometimes, a true nerd slips through the cracks. Here are some of my favorites. Peter Cushing: Respected Shakespearean actor famed for playing Sherlock Holmes and Grand Moff Tarkin (and being in several Hammer Horror Films), Cushing is also a fairly famous war games player, back before even Games Workshop developed Warhammer. Henry Cavill: (Insert witcher interview here) Cavill is built like a brick house, and yet has some fairly nerdy passions. He builds computers and loves LOTR and Warhammer 40k. It's kinda funny seeing him wasted on stuff like Mission Impossible when his dream gig is a 40k adaptation. Robin Williams: A gamer back when gaming was still in its infancy, Williams loved Nintendo so much, he named his daughter after Princess Zelda. He was also a bit of an animation nerd, hiding a reference to Evangelion in his movie 1 Hour Photo. Christopher Lee: More of a classical nerd than a modern nerd, Lee is a lover of history and swords, even having his own. He's also very literary, and when asked to voice the villain Last Unicorn, brought a book with all the passages he wanted adapted highlighted. And one of his last big things was being in a metal music video with some local garage band. Who are some of your favorite nerds who achieved acclaim? And of course, RIP to all three of the ones listed who are no longer with us. Mad props to all of them. submitted by /u/Doodles_n_Scribbles to r/TopCharacterTropes [link] [comments]

My polish grandpa before and after WWII. It is supposed to be 7 years between the pictures according to my mother. He survived concentration camp and had an ID-tattoo. Never wanted to talk about which one. Something about his eyes tell me more than any history book ever could. Wanted to share.

I drag my books with me everywhere I go. Here's a before and after comparison
I picked up a brand new copy of A Feast For Crows after finishing a Storm of Swords and the difference was so dramatic I had to compare them side by side A month of heavy reading took its toll. Edit: I get it, you use a Kindle. I do not. Thanks for letting me know though. Different strokes. Edit 2: I thought I'd let all the punk ass book jockeys know that the books survived their ordeal and are not a representative sample of the books I have with me. They are a little older and more wrinkly, but still good. We'll see how the next read through goes though. I will be sure to keep you all updated accordingly. submitted by /u/rageflows to r/books [link] [comments]

TIL that scientists at UC Berkeley were able to take atomic-scale pictures of a molecule before and after a chemical reaction. The images looked EXACTLY like the classic molecular structure diagrams shown in text books.
