Milky white/very light pink non-streaky polishes?
I’m looking for any polishes that create the effect shown in the pictures without using gel polish and isn’t super streaky/requires only 2 coats? Is anything like this available? I’ve tried OPI Funny Bunny & Essie Marshmallow and both just look like dull whites to me without the milky effect I’m looking for Thanks in advance for any recommendations! ---------------------------- UPDATE: thank you all so much for such great responses and recommendations, I read through every one of them! I decided for what I'm looking for, Londontown Kur Illuminating Nail Concealer in Original (white) was the best match because I want a bright white (blue leaning) milky color and most other similar options leaned more neutral/peachy/cream (which I already have). Another bonus is that it has a super easy to apply formula/can be used for an easy low maintenance manicure. Note: for anyone who's interested, this does have very subtle fine shimmer/pearlescent finish that makes it have that blue/brightening glow. I've also ordered Zoya Madison as that seems the closest color-wise to the inspo pics (and no shimmer). It wasn't recommended here, but after testing it, I'm happy with both the color (bright & clean, blue-toned milky pink which contrasts a lot more with my skin than the warm-toned/peachy/nude sheer pinks that I already own, although I'd say Madison is a tad bit more pink than my inspo pics) and formula (was able to get good coverage in 2 coats and isn't perfectly even, but pretty good and only noticeable patchiness is from very close up). Since this post has gotten a decent amount of interest, I summarized what I thought were other great recommendations (and tried to include both indie and drugstore options) for anyone coming across this post and doesn't want to read through all the comments. Whites: Crellies: Cirque Linen, ILNP Coconut Cream, Cracked Vanille, Zoya Adel, Olive & June Icing is the Best Part (first 3 are off-white leaning to me, while last 2 are brighter bluish whites) Jellies: Starrily Ghost Jelly, Emily de Molly Sheer Tint Blanc, Fancy Gloss Milk Bath, Zoya Lucy, Essie Arctic Jelly Honorable mention: Dimension Nails Vanilla Almond Milk (this would've probably been my favorite of the bunch, except it's no longer available/the company shut down) Pinks: Very pale pinks: Londontown Kur Illuminating Nail Concealer in Pink, Olive & June Strawberry Scone, Olive & June BEB, Essie Gel Couture Fairy Tailor (last two lean beige/nude) Baby pinks: Zoya Bela, Orly Rose Colored Glasses, OPI Baby Take a Vow, Chanel Ballerina, Sally Hansen Pure Pink Cloud, Essie Vanity Fairest (subtle shimmer), Essie Mademoiselle, Essie Gel Couture Sheer Fantasy, Essie Gel Couture Gossamer Garments, Essie Gel Couture Inside Scoop, Cirque Odette, Cirque Chiffon I also did experiment with layering a sheer pink with OPI Funny Bunny, but Funny Bunny was too opaque and just made my sheer pinks look like cremes/opaque instead of milky. You may have better luck layering with a sheer white jelly option above. submitted by /u/Key_Ride_3480 to r/Nailpolish [link] [comments]

These salon quality handmade almond press on nails are the best
Handmade almond press on nails are honestly the easiest way to get that salon look at home, no crazy prices or hours wasted in a chair. The almond shape’s elegant, makes your fingers look longer, and the hand-applied gel polish or custom art actually lasts up to three weeks. Handmade nails usually feel way more comfortable than the generic ones you find at the drugstore. Soft gel materials flex with your real nails, so they just feel natural. You get professional results in minutes, not hours. Each set usually comes with a bunch of sizes to fit your nails, plus the tools you need to slap them on. Whether you’re after a classic French, something bold, or full-on 3D art, handmade press ons have way more variety and quality. Drugstore stuff just doesn’t compare. Here’s what I’ve learned about picking, applying, and keeping handmade almond press on nails looking fresh. I’ll cover which materials are best, how to make them last, and the tricks to make them look like you just left a fancy salon. Why Handmade Almond Press On Nails Stand Out Handmade almond press ons have a level of detail and care that you just don’t get from mass-produced sets. The combo of craftsmanship and that flattering almond shape? It’s a premium vibe, for sure. What Makes Handmade Nails Unique Each nail gets made one at a time, so there’s a real human touch. I’ve noticed that this means better quality and smoother finishes than the factory stuff. The maker can tweak little things as they go. You get better color, smoother surfaces, and the layers stick together better. Factory nails often have weird mold lines or just feel uneven, not these. Handmade press ons use better materials, like legit resins and gels. They look more natural and last longer. If there are rhinestones or painted designs, they stick around instead of falling off after a day. And the best part? Customization. Tons of handmade artists will size, shape, or design your nails just how you want. Pre-packaged sets can’t do that. Key Benefits of Almond Press On Nails The almond shape is a classic for a reason—it makes your fingers look longer and more elegant. That rounded tip is flattering on pretty much everyone. Practical perks: Less breakage – The shape spreads out pressure, so you’re not snapping nails left and right Typing is easier – No stabbing your keyboard or phone screen Versatile style – Minimalist or wild, both work Looks real – Mimics healthy natural nails, not cartoon claws I’ve found almond press ons rarely snag on clothes or hair—way less than coffin or square shapes. The rounded tip just glides, and you still get enough space for cool designs without making daily life annoying. Salon-Quality Results at Home I can pop on a full set of almond press ons in about 15 minutes. No appointments, no commuting—just instant results. Here’s what I do: push back cuticles, buff my nail surface, then use either adhesive tabs for a quick fix or glue for longer wear. Handmade press ons usually last me 1–2 weeks if I glue them right. I get the same durability as salon acrylics, but my natural nails aren’t trashed. Plus, no UV lamps or stinky chemicals. It’s way cheaper too. A handmade set costs $15–$30, and you can reuse them if you’re careful. Compare that to $50–$80 per salon visit—yeah, I’m not going back. Choosing the Best Almond Press On Nails for You The right set depends on your lifestyle, your style, and how long you want them to last. I usually look at three things: shape and length, materials, and which brands have the best rep. Understanding Nail Shape and Length Almond nails taper to a rounded point, making your fingers look longer and more put-together. It works for most hands. For length, think about your daily routine. Short almond nails (about 0.2–0.4 inches past your fingertip) are great for typing or cooking. Medium ones (0.4–0.6 inches) hit that sweet spot between style and practicality. Fit matters most. Most good sets have 12–16 sizes in the box. I measure my nail beds and go for the closest match—if I’m between sizes, I grab the bigger one and file it down. Material and Durability Factors Materials totally change how press ons feel. Soft gel bends with your nail, so it’s comfy and less likely to break. These usually have a hand-applied base, color, design, and top coat. ABS plastic and acrylic are stiffer and more scratch-resistant, so they’re good for special occasions. I don’t love them for everyday, though. Gel finishes with UV protection don’t chip or fade as fast, and they don’t stink like regular polish. The best ones use builder gel for strength and a shiny top coat. If I want them to last, I use pro-grade nail glue. That gets me 2–3 weeks. Jelly adhesive stickers are easier to remove but only last a few days. Popular Brands and Their Features BTArtbox makes soft gel, handmade press ons with hand-applied polish. You get 16 sizes per set and all the tools. They’ve got everything from classic colors to ombre and French tips. Some brands focus on durability with UV coatings, others go wild with chrome or 3D art. I always check what’s in the package—kits with glue, tabs, files, sticks, and alcohol pads are the move. More sizes = better fit. Designs and Styles Available Almond press ons come in so many designs, it’s honestly overwhelming. You’ll find everything from basic nude to full-on seasonal art. Some sets have hand-painted details that look just as good as a pro’s work. Classic and Contemporary Almond Nail Designs Classics like French tips, nudes, and solid colors (white, pink, beige) go with anything. I always grab these for work or formal stuff—they never look out of place. Modern sets get creative with chrome, glitter, and geometric patterns. Swirls, color mixes, and accent nails with pearls or rhinestones are everywhere now. Seasonal collections? Super fun. Winter has snowflakes and icy blues, spring brings florals and pastels, and summer goes bright with tropical vibes. Customization and Handmade Artwork Handmade almond press ons are where you get real customization. Artists hand-paint, add 3D details, and make every set unique—no two are exactly the same. Custom orders let you pick colors, length, and theme. I’ve ordered Christmas sets and wedding nails before. A lot of makers use eco-friendly materials and make their sets reusable, too. 3D art can be wild—raised flowers, textured glitter, embedded gems. The tiny hand-painted lines and mini art are seriously impressive. It’s wearable art, honestly. Trends in Almond Press On Nails Minimalist designs are everywhere now—thin lines, negative space, just enough detail to look cool without being too much. Color blocking is big, too. Blue and white for winter, pink and gold for a luxe vibe, or mauve and matte white for something subtle. Some sets mix glossy and matte finishes, so you get contrast on each hand. Metallic gold and silver accents add a bit of sparkle without going full glitter bomb. How to Apply Almond Press On Nails for Lasting Wear Getting these nails to actually stay put takes some prep and patience. I always start with clean, dry nails and pick my adhesive based on how long I want them to last. Preparing Your Natural Nails First, I wash my hands with soap and warm water. Once they’re totally dry, I trim my nails short and file them to match the almond curve. I gently push back my cuticles—never cut them, that’s asking for trouble. Then I buff the nail surface so the glue or tabs have something to grip. A quick swipe with rubbing alcohol gets rid of oils. I try not to touch my nails after this step. The whole prep takes five minutes but is totally worth it for longer wear. Applying with Nail Glue or Adhesive Tabs I use nail glue when I want my set to last up to two weeks. A small drop on my nail, a thin layer on the press on, then line it up and press for 15 seconds. If I’m just testing a look or want them off in a few days, I grab adhesive tabs. Stick the tab on, peel the top, press on the nail—done. Tabs are easier on my natural nails, too. I do one nail at a time so I don’t mess anything up. After they’re all on, I avoid water for at least an hour so everything sets right. Caring for Both Your Press Ons and Natural Nails Keeping your handmade almond press ons looking good (and your real nails healthy) is all about maintenance. I swear by daily cuticle oil and gentle removal. Maintaining Your Almond Press On Nails Before I put them on, I clean my nails with alcohol wipes to get rid of any oil or lotion. It helps the glue stick and keeps things sanitary. Daily habits I try to stick to: Moisturize your cuticles—oil or hand cream both work Dry your nails after washing hands Skip harsh cleaning chemicals Wear gloves for chores I lightly buff the back of each press on before gluing. It helps them stay put. I also give my real nails a break between sets—let them breathe a bit. Almond nails can lose their shine or start to lift over time. If I spot any edges coming up or the color fading, that’s my cue they’ve had their run. Proper Removal Techniques to Avoid Damage I never peel or pick at my press-on nails—seriously, that just wrecks your natural nails. Instead, I grab some warm soapy water or an acetone-free remover and let the adhesive soften up slowly. My removal process: Soak your nails in warm water for about 10-15 minutes. Once the adhesive feels soft, gently lift the edges. If you need a little help, use a wooden cuticle stick. After the press-ons are off, buff your natural nails lightly. Don’t forget to slather on some cuticle oil and hand cream. I usually file and shape my natural nails right after removal. It helps prevent any snagging or random breakage before I slap on the next set. Keeping my nails trimmed and healthy just makes the press-ons fit better and hang on longer. Honestly, it’s worth the extra two minutes. Top Tips for Getting Salon-Quality Results at Home If you want salon vibes at home, avoid the rookie mistakes and actually take care of your nails first. Most of my disasters happened because I rushed the prep or tossed my press-ons in a messy drawer. Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them Skipping nail prep is probably the #1 fail. You gotta push back your cuticles, give the nail surface a quick buff, then wipe each nail with rubbing alcohol. That gets rid of any oils that mess up the glue. Never apply press-ons to wet or damp nails. Seriously, they won’t stick. I always wait at least 10 minutes after washing my hands—better safe than sorry. Using too much glue is another classic blunder. Just a thin layer on both your nail and the press-on does the trick. Too much glue means bubbles and nails popping off when you least expect it. Press each nail down firmly for 30 seconds once it’s on. That pressure really helps the adhesive set and pushes out any sneaky air pockets. I also avoid water for a couple hours after—yeah, it’s annoying, but it works. And don’t forget about sizing. If the press-on is too big or too small, you’ll get lifting at the edges. I always test-fit each nail before gluing, and file the sides if I need to. It’s a little tedious, but totally worth it for that flawless look. Longevity and Reusability Advice Okay, so if you wanna get the most out of your press-ons, proper removal and storage are honestly a game changer. I usually soak my nails in warm, soapy water for about 10-15 minutes—just enough to loosen the glue without going overboard. Seriously, never force them off. That’ll mess up both the press-ons and your actual nails, and nobody wants that headache. Once they’re off, I go after the old glue with a nail file or sometimes a cotton pad soaked in acetone. Store press-ons in their original case or just toss them in a tiny container—anything that keeps them from getting bent or weirdly shaped. I try to remember cuticle oil every day, just to keep my natural nails from drying out between sets. For extra mileage, I slap on a thin layer of clear top coat every couple of days. And yeah, I wear gloves when I’m washing dishes or cleaning, because water just kills the adhesive way too fast. submitted by /u/shopboopthesnoots to r/readbeforebuying [link] [comments]

Would Dark green nails go okay with a baby blue dress?
I know the one image is a little off-topic, but I am going to be a bridesmaid at the end of next month, and this is the dress I am wearing. None of the other bridesmaids are wearing the same color dress, so asking them what they are doing with their nails isn't really an option for me. I attached an image of nails that I am thinking of, but I am really not sure if they would go okay with this dress. submitted by /u/Current_Tiger2607 to r/RedditLaqueristas [link] [comments]

I've changed my nails 3 times this week 🙈
Tried painting my natural (very short) nails, loved it but chipped it quickly. Tried square shape but didn't like it. Now back to almond 😅 hopefully these last a week because I'm tired of switching. I’m kinda furious 😭
I paid $110 for these (plus $70 for a pedicure) - asked for an almond shape with a french tip and they’re just so wonky and triangular. Should I be as mad as I am or are they not as bad as I think? I haven’t gotten my nails done in 7 years because I have a blue collar job that makes having acrylic nails impossible. I’m going to a wedding and an extra long over-due vacation after so I figured I’d treat myself. submitted by /u/AsparagusMan73 to r/Nails [link] [comments]

On the hunt for a good quality red almond shaped press on nail
I’m looking for a medium length almond shaped red press on nail, but not an orangey red, more of a true blue undertone red. All the ones I’ve found have had designs on them. Family was polite about them at Easter dinner but now I want to show people who “get it.”
My background is I’m nearly 50 y/o but never knew I was into nails since I’ve always gardened until recent life circumstances made that difficult—bought blue Sally’s Insta-Dri + some pearl nail charms back in November and that somehow spiraled into a total obsession with my gel UV lamp arriving in the mail in early February. The first sets I did were holiday-themed (& not sized properly so I didn’t end up wearing them). I also happen to have done a set of Easter nails on a set of “extra short almonds” but prior to wearing them discovered I don’t like to wear that size as much as the normal “short almond.” Which is why my nails are bald in these pics & I’m currently trying to decide which set to wear this week in case anyone wants to weigh in what you’d choose. Slides: 1– all my unworn/fully sanded/cleaned up/final topcoat sets 2 & 3– recently made a set of images that make me think of my partner then wore it to the hospital during his heart surgery last month. It’s all special moments, mutual favorite songs, etc. 4 & 5– my Easter set which was experimenting with new products or techniques 6– a galaxy themed set I recently did for my youngest son to enjoy since he’s obsessed with space 7– two recent sets mostly using stamping plates & testing colors. On the top one I was testing my ability to do 10 matching/uniform plus I liked using a moth image for 2 of the triangles. 8– stamping plate images over cat eye gel with the goal that the image is nearly invisible from some angles & very visible from others 9– chrome over laser chrome with stamping plate images (I really went nuts over stamping plates though eventually I want to do a lot of hand-painted too… but I’m already SLOW af). 10– experimenting with getting uniform circles in cat eye gel (plus bugs & flowers) 11– these really didn’t want to photograph because i was too successful at my goal of using stamping plate images over cat eye gel so that the image is nearly invisible from some angles & very visible from others 12– nails from sets I abandoned for various reasons. I’m particularly pleased with the little builder gel honey pot over cat eye gel 13– this set got damaged in removal but I wore it over St Patrick’s Day 14– The first two sets I ever made that unfortunately didn’t fit I had a few other sets I accidentally destroyed before I learned better methods to remove them. I don’t have anyone local to talk to about my obsession (at least, anyone who isn’t just humoring me 😆) so any comments/conversation are welcome. submitted by /u/SkilletKitten to r/Nails [link] [comments]

The end of a 10-year dupe quest
I’ve had a mini bottle of nail polish for about ~14 years (I got it as a gift in middle/high school) and it’s always been my favorite. When I went to repurchase it — nowhere to be found. It’s a Sephora-brand polish (not a collab), in a weird little sideways-almond-shaped bottle. I know this bottle shape was used until at least 2013 because I bought a different color in that bottle shape in-store right after my college graduation but man, I can’t even find pictures of them online anymore. My googling skills may have degraded. Anyway - it’s gorgeous. The palest lavender pearl in the bottle, half a shade from white on the nails. Glowy like you wouldn’t believe, with a turquoise/pink shift. It’s always reminded me of the dragon scales from Dragon Tales. I started hunting. I bought a polish that was as close as I could get from the drugstore (this was before my Nail Polish Hobby really took off) — not even close to a match — gave up and tucked my little half-full mini bottle away for very special occasions. Periodically since then, I’ve tried to find a dupe and had no luck. Pearly whites abound!! But none had the right shimmer, none had the hint of lavender. I turned to indies and had no better luck. Too MUCH shimmer! Green shimmer! Holo sparkles! But I kept buying and hoping. AND THEN. The OPI x Wicked collab came out. 'Oh for Oz Sake' is a ~99.1% dupe and I’m so happy I could cry! It doesn’t have the lavender - it’s a pale pale pink - but on the nail you’d practically need the color receptors of a shrimp to tell the difference. I still got a second bottle and am going to experiment with mixing in a little lavender, just to see… but the dupe has been found. The dupe/the polish/the failures: (All 3 coats, over Nailtiques Formula 2, with Sally Hansen Insta Dri as top coat) PIC 1: Left hand Index: Cirque Moonstone. Previously the closest I’d found, but not exact - no lavender, shimmer is too blue, has holo sparkles. Middle: Sephora 'N. 49' aka The Polish Ring: OPI 'Oh for Oz Sake’ see what I mean??? So close!!! Pinky: Mizshe no-name polish from Amazon that’s too purple, too sheer, green shimmer, and tbh smells weird so I’m a little scared of it. PIC 2: Right hand Pinky: Phoenix 'Oops! 44' I have BEEF with Phoenix over this one because the picture online looks NOTHING like this. This is just straight up pink. Pink jelly. Pinky jelly with green shimmer and sparkles. not even close. What the fuck. Ring: Nailed it! 'Resilience’ from HHC. Pretty, but too pink and the shimmer is too yellow-green and too strong. Middle: The Polish (again) Index: Sinful Colors 'Let Me Go' the only thing I could find in the drugstore 8ish years ago that was even a little close (it is not at all close.) PIC3: Cursed thumb pose: Lyn B 'Rainbow Quartz' I didn’t think this would be a dupe but I also was getting very fed up by the time I bought this and I started to doubt if I actually knew what I was even looking for anymore. And I had $5 shop cash to burn. PIC 4: The Polish / The Dupe up close (exposure lowered to capture the glowiness a little better) PIC 5: left hand polishes, in order (I had The Dupe again on my thumb) PIC 6: right hand polishes, in order PIC 7: blurry unfocused shot that, of course, actually does the best job showing how glowy the polishes are. submitted by /u/paraprosdokians to r/RedditLaqueristas [link] [comments]

[MISC] List of black owned beauty businesses
Don't know if anyone else has posted this here before, if so, sorry for making another post about it. I already posted this list in r/Euroskincare but thought it might get more reach here. With everything going on I wanted to share some black-owned beauty businesses because a big part of invoking real change is to be more conscious of where you spend your money. We as consumers are the ones that have the power to make or break these companies. Lets put our money where our mouth is! EDIT: Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful in sharing all these brands! I'll try to list as many as possible! Wanted to share this link as well. If you have the means, please donate to some of the organisations that could really use your help. Supporting these beauty brands will benefit black-owned businesses in the long run. But right now the people that need our help the most are those on the frontline! On another note, apparently a lot of useful comments have been downvoted. To anyone doing this, and to the people that have come here to argue, why are you here? Nobody is forcing you to go through this post or buy these products. This post is clearly not for you! Stop forcing yourself into a conversation that you are clearly not willing to have. Just post your shelfie and go! FRAGRANCE TAGS: [FF] = Fragrance & essential oil free brand *no known sensitizing extracts [MFF] = Mostly fragrance & EO free brand *no known sensitizing extracts [FFP] = Fragrance & EO free products *no known sensitizing extracts [FPW] = Contains fragrance or EO, but only in a wash off product [FFC] = Fragrance & EO free product, but use with caution when you have sensitive skin *no known sensitizing extracts Some brands contain 'fragrance free' products but are formulated with a lot of botanical extracts. These extracts aren't always known irritants and can even have beneficial properties. However, if you already have sensitive skin/known allergens, proceed with caution. Research the ingredients (as you always should do) as being exposed to so many highly formulated extracts might be sensitising to some. All products listed below can be used by anyone. Skin care is not limited to one gender. But if you are feeling cautious wether you can try these products or not because of for instance, heavy fragrance, I suggest you try out one of the fragrance free products. But also, fragrance is genderless too! Liking nice smelling stuff is a universal thing. SKIN CARE - Epara Skincare [skincare] [FPW 1 2] - Beneath Your Mask [skincare] [FPW 1 2] - Unsun Cosmetics [sun care] -Undefined Beauty [skincare] [FFP 1] [FPW 1] - Base Butter [skincare] - KLUR [skincare] [FFP 1 2] - ROSEN Skincare [skincare] [FFP 1 2 3] [FPW 1 2 3 4] [FFC 1 2] - epi.logic skincare [skincare] [MFF 1 2 3 contains fragrance] - Dehiya Beauty [skincare] [FPW 1 2] - Pholk Beauty [skincare] [FPW 1 2 3 4] - Shani Darden [skincare] [MFF 1 contains fragrance] - Hyper Skin [skincare] [FF!] - Black Girl Sunscreen [sun care] [FF] recommended by u/bluepans - Nolaskinsentials [skincare] [FFP 1 2 3] [FPW 1 2 3 4 5 6] rec. by u/Illernoise & u/daramichele98 - Bolden Skin Care [skincare] [FPW 1 2 3] recommended by u/illecebrousowl & u/tooptoop - Épanouie Skincare [skincare] [FFP 1 2 3 4 5 6] [FPW 1 2 3] recommended by u/wetwhyofcourse - MoonXcosmetics [skincare] [FFP 1 2 body care =FF] [FPW 1] recommended by u/sarcib - Beauty Strike [skincare] [FFP 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9] [FPW 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 \all non-sheet masks=fragranced] [FFC 1 2 3]* recommended by u/smileyglitter - Ceylon Skincare [skincare targeted at men] recommended by u/spinmyworld - Nyakio Beauty [skincare] [FPW 1] recommended by u/spicegrl1 - KNC Beauty [skincare] [FFP 1] recommended by u/bringabook - Ayele & Co [skincare] [FFP 1 2] [FPW 1 2 3 4] recommended by u/LovesGG - Elle Johnson [skincare] [FFP 1 2 3] [FPW 1 2 3 4 5] recommended by u/dimichuji COSMETICS - UOMA Beauty [cosmetics] - Mented Cosmetics [cosmetics] - Beauty Bakerie [cosmetics] - Juvia's Place [cosmetics] - The Lip Bar [cosmetics] - Coloured Raine Cosmetics [cosmetics] - Path Mcgrath [cosmetics] - Vera Moore Cosmetics [cosmetics] recommended by u/HardSign99 - IMAN Cosmetics [cosmetics] recommended by u/cherchezlafemmed - Kween Cosmetics [cosmetics] recommended by u/jadelovebird - Hue Noir [cosmetics] recommended by u/speecher HAIR CARE - Briogeo Hair Care [hair care] - Loving Culture [hair care] - Pattern Beauty [hair care] - Kinky Curly [hair care] recommended by u/elianna7 - Miss Jessies [hair care] recommended by u/elianna7 - Adwoa Beauty [hair care] recommended by u/wetwhyofcourse - Boucléme [hair care] recommended by u/mimidaler - The Doux [hair care] recommended by u/al_vore - Aunt Jackie's [hair care] recommended by u/mellbell13 - The Mane Choice [hair care, grooming] recommended by u/rnountdiablo - Curls [hair care] recommended by u/Pushrestart - Mixed Chicks [hair care] recommended by u/Pushrestart - The Jane Carter Solution [hair care] recommended by u/Pushrestart - Curl Junkie [hair care] recommended by u/Pushrestart - Dizziak [hair care] recommended by u/CrueltyFreeUK BODY CARE/CROSSOVERS - OUI The People [body care/hair removal] - BEVEL [men's grooming/hair/body/skin care] - Ixora Botanical Beauty [soap/grooming/skin/body care] recommended by u/humboldtwaffle - Bombd Aesthetics [soap/skin/body care] recommended by u/Segundosegundo - Camille Rose [hair/body care] recommended by u/elianna7 - Injoy Soapworks [soap/grooming/skin/body care] recommended by u/Whatuptee - Oyin Handmade [hair/body care] recommended by u/tooptoop - GOLDE [health/skin care] recommended by u/auller1014 - Foxie Bombs Cosmetics [skin/body/hair care/fragrance] recommended by u/HuiLingMao - Delish Condish [skin/body/hair care] recommended by u/humboldtwaffle - Eden Bodyworks [hair/body care] recommended by u/TakingOverYou - Papa Rozier Farms [skin/body/hair care] recommended by u/shoobishoe - Salt.xo [soap/body/skin care] recommended by u/Britt_candace - Ancient Cosmetics [body/skin care] recommended by u/anna-alicia - HappyRose [body/skin care] recommended by u/theinsidesoup - Organically Bath & Beauty [soap/body/skin care] recommended by u/tronliveson - Karen's Body Beautiful [hair/body care] recommended by u/styh06 - Donata Skinfood [skin/body/hair care] recommended by u/arrobaac - The Butters Hygienics [skin/body/hair care] recommended by u/jonesgrey MISCELLANEOUS - Pear Nova [nails] - Baalm [skincare lifestyle] recommended by u/ValkyrjaValor - The Honey Pot [feminine care products] recommended by u/72PlymouthDuster - People of Color Beauty [nails] recommended by u/MACMUA BRANDS THAT NEED A DISCLAIMER Wether you want to support these brands or not is up to you. But because they need more of an explanation, I wanted to list them separately. - Fenty Skin & Fenty Beauty, As pointed out by u/Heytherestairs, is mostly owned by LVMH. And while it's an INCREDIBLY big deal that Rihanna signed with them, it seems that Rihanna is only listed as the founder of the brand and its name, but not as the CEO. Wether that's problematic or not is another conversation. But the question here is, how much of the brand does she truly own and how much of that money actually comes her way? If anyone has done more research on this, please share it! For now Fenty Skin & Beauty will stay listed here. This is not a boycott, just a disclaimer. - SheaMoisture is listed here because they have been bought by Unilever. More about Unilever's practices here. Thank you u/addanchorpoint & u/elianna7 for pointing it out. - Carol's Daughter is listed here because they are owned by L'oreal. More information about why L'oreal doesn't deserve our support here. Thank you for pointing it out u/falloutficus if you believe any of these brands should be on one of the above lists instead of here, please state so why so we can discuss it. This is an open conversation, I'm just trying to listen to the community here and adjust where needed. If there are any other brands that need a disclaimer, please let me know. LINKS I just saw u/itscaitlin had posted a very helpful list under the 'Black Lives Matter' post, which you can find here This Into The Gloss article features a lot of great brands that aren't listed here! recommended by u/radgreek u/Wakandalady posted here about why you shouldn't support L'oreal and any of its daughter-brands. This is why Carol's Daughter is listed under 'disclaimer'. Thank you for pointing it out u/falloutficus '9 black-owned grooming brands you can support' The SkincareAddiction team had already shared these link in their Black Lives Matter post: Resources specifically relevant to skincare: List of black owned beauty businesses from u/esteelaundry on instagram Indie black-owned businesses from r/Indiemakeupandmore, includes skincare If anyone knows of any other brands, would love to hear about them! submitted by /u/angry-lemonade to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]
