Carpe Deodorant

Long story short I was a dove deodorant user for YEARS but after I had my son dove stopped working a friend recommended trying aluminum free deodorant so I switched to fussy/wild deodorant. It works great but as someone who lives in the US it kind of a pain in the butt to get. Also sometimes it doesn’t last as long as I’d like and the reusable case feels impossible to completely clean. I’ve been looking into alternatives and a friend recommended Carpe deodorant and she swears is the best deodorant she’s ever used. I did a little research and I noticed it has aluminum in it which makes me a little nervous but I’m considering it. Is it worth the hype? Is it worth having aluminum in deodorant? So I've been using Carpe underarm antiperspirant since March of last year and it genuinely changed my life. As someone who deals with excessive sweating, the white stick was one of the only products that actually worked for me. Then they released the new orange bottle and the performance dropped off completely. I figured something had changed but when I reached out to their support team, the first response I got was: "The formula hasn't changed at all. The ingredients, the percentages and even the manufacturing process are exactly the same. The only thing that has changed is the packaging." Something didn't sit right with me so I pulled out both sticks and looked at the Drug Facts labels side by side. Here's what I found: White stick (old): Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate 15% Orange bottle (new): Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate 20% Not only did the active ingredient concentration change, but the entire inactive ingredient list is different between the two versions as well. I sent them photos of both labels calling out the discrepancy directly, and the second response was a completely different story. They admitted the formula had changed — referring to the old version as their "2.0 formula" and the new one as their "3.0 formula." They said the old formula had a known issue where it would solidify in the stick after 4-6 months and they reformulated to fix it. Which is fine. Products get updated. That's understandable. What's not fine is being told point blank that "the percentages are exactly the same" when they demonstrably are not. It took photo evidence to get an honest answer. For what it's worth, they did offer to send me their Clinical Grade stick for free once the truth came out, which was a decent gesture. But the initial denial was frustrating, especially for something as simple as a label comparison anyone could do at home. If you've noticed the new orange bottle isn't hitting the same as the old white stick — you're not imagining it. The formula changed. TL;DR: Carpe changed their antiperspirant formula, denied it when I complained, but the Drug Facts labels tell a different story. They eventually admitted it after I sent photos. Has anyone actually tried Carpe and does it actually work? The secret deodorant that I normally use is starting to make my unarm super itchy and I’ve tried using tons of other alternatives but they have left me stinky. DO NOT BUY CARPE DEODORANT I saw this product online and wanted to give it a try, I ordered a few due to how much I liked the scents. After I used them my armpits burnt which I found very weird due to them claiming it’s all clean ingredients BUT, it contains aluminum sesquichlorohydrate, and phenoxyethanol. These chemicals are most likely what was the cause to my armpits burning due to my sensitive skin. If you want to read more about these chemicals you can look at “Yuka” app to see the risks of these chemicals even though they pose a low risk. Carpe on paper looked like a great product on paper, but it wasn't for me. Carpe is $19.95 which is absurd for deodorant. In my opinion you can find better products out there for cheaper. Such as, DR. Squatch for $12.99. Which is my personal favorite product. And is also available in stores. My biggest issue with this product is the subscription. When I bought this item I bought the one-time purchase, BUT I just got charged for another order saying I have a subscription which I never started nor applied for. I know for a fact I never started a sub, because why the hell would start one if I just wanted to try it. This made me pretty mad and tried to return it, but turns out they don't allow returns for second purchases with no exceptions. I’m a teenage girl and I have hyperhidrosis, I sweat excessively under my arms at ALL times. Even when it’s like 20 degrees. There is still a massive sweat stain on my shirt. Even short sleeves. I’ve been sentenced to only wearing dark colors or things so think you won’t be able to see the sweat, and around 2 months or so I kept getting tiktok ads about carpe so I caved and asked my mom to buy it. IT WORKED SO WELL. I’ve tried so many antiperspirants and sweat blocking products but this stuff really works. I still sometimes sweat a little bit with it on, but it’s nothing compared to what i previously had to endure. You do have to follow the instructions for the best result tho. My mom was researching it cause I asked her to rebuy it for me. (Heads up it’s a 1.7 ounce stick of deodorant so it runs out pretty quick.) I’m not sure what she researched but she said it was too harmful and expensive to keep up. (it is pricy) so she bought me a different deodorant. I went back to sweating but I noticed it was a lot less than before!! But I did unfortunately go behind my mom’s back and rebuy it with my own money. So if you have hyperhidrosis I would strongly recommend researching it a bit and then purchasing it to see if you like it!! Earlier in the year I was seeing ads for the Carpe deodorant literally EVERYWHERE and as someone who sweats really bad, and also deals with bad odor, I bite the bullet and put in an order for a $21 stick of deodorant. When I received it it was an okay product but knew that I could find better for wayyy cheaper so I knew that I was not going to be repurchasing. Today I get an email from Carpe saying that my order is confirmed for yet another $21 purchase. Did not realize that I was still on a subscription plan as I could of sworn I canceled it and was very confused as it came from out of the blue with no warning. The funds that it took were very important and were needed for other things like bills or Christmas. I had an exact amount of money in my account for bills and this order just took me by surprise so now I am in a tough situation. I sent an email and told them that the product did not meet my satisfaction and needed my order to be canceled/refunded. However, after sending the email I just stumbled upon the page where they said that they can't offer refunds or cancellations unless this is your first order. Unfortunately this is my second time ordering so I have a feeling that they more than likely won't approve my request. It is very weird of how the website says that you cannot be refunded past the point of when the 'order has been processed'. From what I have gathered, apparently Carpe believes that the order is considered processed the absolute first second the order button is clicked. So what this essentially means is that this its entirely impossible to cancel or get a refund. This whole no refund process is absolutely ridiculous compared to literally any other website. Normally processed means it takes at least a day to get to your order so this mentality is crazy. Yes, I could have sworn that I canceled my subscription so when I saw I was charged I was very shocked. However, these mistakes happen all the time and with other companies they generally understand that. At any other retailer if you make an order you generally have 24 hours to decide if you want to cancel. Its as easy as just going in and pressing cancel and its okay as long as this is done in due time before the order is packaged and shipped. However, here I am requesting for a refund and asking to not be sent the product literally in the first few minutes of receiving the email saying I have an order and its most certainly going to be denied. It is also very unfortunate that they don't have a phone number to call as this could be caught immediately and something could have been done. Your only option is having to email to which they state that they might not respond until 48 hours later and then when they do it's probably gonna be a situation of "well 2 days have passed so its already been packaged/shipped so no refund." I'm sure this is done on purpose as one of their tactics so they can scam you out of your money while still having an "excuse". Obviously I went into my account to go ahead and cancel my subscription and it isn't impossible as some people may say but it definitely is bothersome. It is annoying how they ask you like 5 times if your sure you want to cancel and keep beating around the bush but I eventually was able to cancel my subscription. The way they are running the website and their policies are absolutely shady and greedy. Based on my own research I can even allege that they could be breaking many laws. Due to this I joined several others in reporting them to websites like ftc.gov and others. I've been using carpe for about 2 and 1/2 years and after a lifetime of hyperhidrosis in my armpits and no deodorants working I found carpe and it worked amazing. It also worked for my three children and four of my coworkers that have all struggled with wet armpits and store brand deodorants turning to a sour smell after an hour or two. In the last few months I noticed my armpits being more sweaty and even sometimes being a little stinky. I brushed it off thinking I must not have applied enough until my younger daughter mentioned having the same issue. Eventually I spoke to everyone I had recommended it to who used it and we were all experiencing the same issue. Upon looking at reviews online some people were complaining that the carpe right out too quickly so the company change the formula which is now very creamy and never really dries under your armpits, gets all over your clothes and you still sweat or stink... Or in my case both! It's really frustrating to have found something that works after 40 plus years and then have them change the formula. According to Google the active ingredient is still the same so what ingredient did they remove that caused the deodorant to lose its efficacy? Does anyone have any information? I am so mad rn. I should have researched carpe on reddit before purchasing a month ago because i’ve read up now to see that every customer goes through the same thing. I purchased a carpe deodorant to try in August and this morning I woke up to a notification at 3 am that my card was charged 25 dollars. I NEVER signed up for a subscription and distinctly remember clicking the “buy one time” option at checkout. nope. They do not let you know either until your card has been charged. I have heard I can’t even dispute it with my bank because it is not in their policy to give refunds. I’m thankful it was only 25 dollars but i’m pissed. I placed a one-time order with this company, believing I was making a single purchase to try out their product. At no point did I knowingly agree to enroll in a subscription plan. However, without my consent or clear disclosure, the company automatically enrolled me in a recurring subscription model. Roughly one month later, I was charged nearly $100 and sent four more deodorants—despite the fact that I had barely used the original ones. I received no email notification in advance that a new order was being processed, nor any meaningful reminder that I was on a subscription. To make matters worse, when I tried to cancel, I discovered the cancellation process was intentionally tedious, requiring me to cancel each product one at a time. It felt designed to make the process frustrating and discourage cancellation. Now, I’ve been told the second shipment is ineligible for a refund due to a clause buried in the fine print. I ordered in good faith, with no intent to become a subscriber. The user experience and communication are clearly designed to mislead customers and maximize profit through deception. Just wondering if anyone else has had their armpits break out in acne after using carpe for a while. It’s like painful cystic almost. Carpe works well for sweat but the closing off of pores seems to cause acne for me. I put it on nightly, after I shower and am completely dry. They have a 15-20% aluminium content depending on the product, which is the same as Driclor. However, driclor uses aluminium chloride which is more potent than carpes aluminium sesquichlorohydrate, but the tradeoff is that carpe shouldn't burn/irritate the skin like driclor does. I have been using Native deodorant for YEARS. The Aloe and green tea one for sensitive skin has been my godsend. I have always found that when I sweat, I still feel confident because I don't smell bad/like BO. This changed 4 days ago. Suddenly every day I smell like BO by the afternoon. On the second day, a coworker said their Native deodorant isn't working either which was super weird. Anyways, I'd love to hear your theories or other natural deodorant recommendations for sensitive skin (Im also sensitive to fragrances but the smell of the native one never bothered me). I've been looking to switch from Lume to another deodorant that potentially has better scents and the Carpe advertising has totally got me to at least try it out on an impulse. I didn't realize until after it shipped out that aluminum is a prominent ingredient (Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate at 15%) I've had issues with Dove deodorant causing yellowing in my white shirts and it hasn't been an issue since I switched out of alum. It is currently a sweltering 24C (75F) and I am not coping well. I am extremely pasty white British lady and anything over 19C (66F) is hellish for me. Whilst I have always been somewhat averse to the heat, but since combining lisdexamfetamine and venlafaxine I am not coping well. Mentally, the best I've ever been but physically? I am damp. Currently my routine is shower, dry, liberally clean armpits with glycolic acid toner. I read somewhere a while ago that this gets rid of bacteria and honestly it has been a godsend in making sure I don't smell. I'm currently using Mitchum extra strong deodorant which is great, but again not really any anti perspirant. Also my nurse recently advised that I should switch up my deodorant every couple of months so I don't get used to it, and it stays effective. Please tell me I am not the only one having soggy girl summer. Do you have any tips or products you'd recommend to keep me mostly dry? I'm being bombarded with ads for Carpe Antiperspirant which looks good in theory but it's very expensive, so would appreciate if anyone had any experience with this. I don't want to buy it, find out it doesn't work and then be damp and poor. Please help me, I've literally had to grow my fringe out for summer because I can't deal with it being plastered to my forehead. I'm having seasonal haircuts like a dog! Has anyone else who’s used carpe gotten actual burns from it? This is mainly for those using the underarm version but —- i guess the others might cause burns too. I never use it after shaving and i always always make sure my pits are dry so I’m not sure why it’s caused a burn on my skin.
