I am about to crash out!!! 😭
I feel like I have spent hundreds of dollars on skincare products, primers, setting powders, setting sprays & literally anything to fix this ongoing issue. I don’t sleep with my make up on. I wash it every night & do a milky toner, a serum & a night time moisturizer. I use a face wipe in the morning & then do a milky toner, gel moisturizer, the primer (feels like I’ve tried everything! Even the holy grail elf primer). I let each layer dry before moving onto the next & nothing is working. What’s worse is, once this starts to happen if I try to add even the slightest amount of foundation it becomes an absolute disaster & literally peels away the whole layer. What do I do?! Where am I going wrong. I’m at the point now where it’s making me more insecure to wear makeup vs. not because of how awful it looks. **UPDATE** first off, thank you everyone for some direction & words of encouragement! I think the reality is that as I’ve hit my mid 30’s, things “change”. I’ve went many years without makeup & after having my daughter 3 years ago I developed acne & it caused some scaring & resorted to make up. These are the products I grabbed today, I was looking for the IT bb cream but the color I needed was out. The versed was a better suited color for me (the elf was too peachy/pink). If anyone has recommendations for a more olive yellow undertone bb cream please share! • VERSED SKIN SOLUTION MULTI-SERUM SKIN TINT SPF 40 BROAD SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN • BYOMA MOISTURIZING RICH CREAM Tri-Ceramide • CAMO CC CREAM • POWER GRIP MATTE PRIMER • MORPHE ALL BASES COVERED set. neutral yellow foundation/BB cream/skin tint?
My perfect match is the Loreal Infallible concealer in the shade Eggshell 325, which is a light neutral yellow that isn't too saturated i love it. I currently wear the Elf Camo CC cream in shade 100w (which i am VERY grateful i found) but i am looking for something lighter coverage to use in the summer. Id be grateful for any recommendations of a light coverage foundation/ BB cream/ skin tint. Thank you ♥️ submitted by /u/fewyearsback to r/PaleMUA [link] [comments]

HOT TAKE: elf’s Soft Glam Satin Foundation is Overhyped
Everyone was raving about this foundation like it was holy grail status. Honestly.... I don’t get the love. I’ve tested it in shade Fair 120N across three different routines. I have oily/combo/acne prone skin. This was my experience: Application with average or matte primers = instant regret. Looked patchy, cakey, and dry. Needs a very hydrating base and careful layering to look decent. Even then it still clings weirdly in places. The finish leans matte, feels heavy, and settles into smile lines no matter what. I expected a lighter formula closer to their CC cream but not exactly. It does have some pros: 36 shades, cruelty free, solid price at $8, and nice ingredients like hibiscus and fruit extracts. Doesn't get oily or shiny. Still, elf’s old satin foundation formula was way better. They discontinued it for this?! Kind of a joke. Who agrees? I gave it a fair shot with sponge and brush, with and without powder, and it never looked flawless. I’d love to hear how this worked (or didn’t) for you. submitted by /u/ReportAny2227 to r/drugstoreMUA [link] [comments]

Looking for recommendations for CC creams and tinted moisturizers/skin tints...I'm so confused!
So I have been looking for a good CC cream and also a good tinted moisturizer/skin tint/whatever fun name the brand has given it. I am in my early 30s so I don't want anything that draws too much attention to fine lines. However, I feel like every time I try some of them out I am absolutely shocked that some of them seem like full coverage foundations While others seem like completely sheer. I have heard that elf is coming out with a skin tint but it's currently only available on elf.com. besides that I see so many awesome companies with what seemed to be amazing looking products but I would have to spend $1,000 to try them all so I would be so grateful if you guys could share with me any of your most flattering and favorite CC creams and tinted moisturizers/skin tint/etc. I would throw BB creams in there as well but to be honest I'm not totally sure what the difference is between a tinted moisturizer and a BB cream because when I Google it it seems like it's possibly the same thing but if it's not I'd love some suggestions for that too. Sorry to ask you guys for this favor but I will pay you in my undying love and also when you have questions like this I will comment with the answers so that's what I can give back to you and of course make love potions for you to give to the man of your choice LOL thanks again ( Sorry if the grammar and Sentence structure is horrific here, I just had a procedure on my right eye and I'm using talk to text and I can barely proofread it so forgive me) submitted by /u/loudupstairsneighbor to r/Sephora [link] [comments]

I’ve taken some of your advice on my wedding makeup, lmk your thoughts (also please be nice to me, lol)
Ohhkay, y’all, so I posted earlier and asked for opinions on my wedding makeup. I’m having a tiny, tiny ceremony of only 8 people because my family dynamics are complicated and I don’t want to deal with it + I’d rather spend the money on our honeymoon. I did delete that post because tbh in the moment I was frustrated with everyone telling me that my lipstick color isn’t “bridal” and that I should do red or berry or nude, which like, respectfully… berry??? Y’all. Berry lipsticks wash me out and don’t match the vibe. I think nude lipsticks are weird on me (I love them on other people, it’s just not my thing). And red does feel a little much for what I’m going for. Tbh, I am more married to the lip color than I am to my fiancé, so. There’s that. The last photo is the photo I made the original post with. The vibe is kind of like vintage, tea stained, old books, warm, sort of academic (I mean, my fiancé is literally wearing a tweed suit and we’re being married by his favorite professor in his department), etc. I’ve posted a picture of my dress for reference. Okay, onto the makeup and hair (the latter because I got some hair comments, lol). So, I got some comments about my lashes and them needing to be brown. The ones in the last photo are actually brown, but they are a dark brown. It is a little challenging to find brown lashes as it turns out. The ones in the last pic were just cheap ones I got off amazon, so I went to Ulta and found exactly one pair of brown lashes from MAC. They’re still kind of dark, but 🤷‍♀️. Next, some of y’all did not like the sparkly highlighter, so I switched that out to elf’s halo glow liquid highlighter. A LOT of you did not like the fake freckles and said I might not like them in photos since they’re a trend. I do have some natural freckles that I like, but my foundation (one size’s) was hella full coverage so I drew them on. I went ahead and picked up a CC cream while I was at Ulta to both give more of a natural-skin look and in an attempt to let my freckles be seen, which you kind of can on my nose, but not so much anywhere else. Regardless, though, I think I like the CC cream more and I’ve 86’d the fake freckles. You guys made some valid points about the gloss being messy for the ceremony so I got rid of that as well. Finally, and this is something I’m really insecure about so please be gentle, a couple of you clocked the wig and said I need to soften my hairline. My dad died after losing an 8 year battle with cancer. He wanted to die at home, so I did his hospice care. Between that, being in school (career change, y’all, I’m not a child bride, lol), and being the entire HR department for a small company contracted with DHHS while DHHS was (is) in turmoil, my hair started falling out from the stress. It’s starting to grown back, but it’s still really short, hence the wig. It is human hair, HD lace, glueless, and was kind of expensive (like $900?) and I’m terrified to pluck it myself because I’m scared I’ll mess it up. If anyone has any tips on that, lmk. Product list: Elf power grip primer • elf camo hydrating CC cream in fair 120 n • elf halo glow contour in medium/tan • covergirl outlast forever velvet pigment in baked clay; I used this for my blush, lip color, and in my crease • Kim chi chic that white powder setting powder • elf halo glow highlighter in rose quartz • just for redheads brow pencil in ginger • kosas air brow gel • essence prime like a pro eyeshadow base • colorpop super shock shadow in frog • L’Oréal lash paradise mascara in latte brown • MAC falsies (there is no shade or style name on the box, but they are brown) • NYX epic wear eyeliner in pure white • NYX epic ink liner in graham cracker • duo eyelash glue in clear/ white • elf stay all night setting mist submitted by /u/xyelem to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

recommendations for good drug store foundations or CC creams?
I’m 31F and I am trying to save some money in these crappy inflation times. I wear makeup almost everyday and have managed to slim down on the products I use daily. I’ve recently used Urban Decay hydromaniac and loved the finish/all day wear but tried to make the switch to ELF camo CC cream to save some money. I thought I was loving it, but i’m not. Best CC cream under $20
What the title says. I hate spending money on makeup because I never wear it and it expires, but I have a wedding to be in in April and I’ll need to doll myself up a little. Any recommendations? I’ve found a few similar posts to this one but have been a little overwhelmed with the amount of responses, and many of the answers on older posts are out of my price range. Elf Soft Glam Satin Foundation — What Concealer Do You Use?

ELF Camo Hydrating CC Cream going patchy and breaking up?
I need a little help deciding if I should give the ELF Camo Hydrating CC Cream another try or just return it and the primer? Per the website’s “primer finder” the ELF Power Grip primer was suggested to use with the Hydrating CC cream but I wore it to brunch and my chin, nose, and much of my lower face was broken up and patchy before 2pm. I redid my face for family dinner at 5p and now (not quite 10p) it’s a patchy mess again?!? I very rarely wear a full face anymore so I don’t really want to spend a ton on foundation… my skin is maturing (not quite 40) and combo/dry (and cool toned pale). I have a skincare routine that works quite well for me and did let my skincare sink in (10-20 minutes) before starting my makeup both times. I did go back to the ELF website and the poreless putty primer is recommended under “how to use” but I hated the consistency when I tried it previously. Any advice is much appreciated!! I don't know my foundation color!
I'm 33 and just now getting into makeup. I have 10 different foundations and I don't think any of them are correct 🤦‍♀️. I know I burn, but then eventually tan. I have blue veins. I rarely have the time to go into a beauty store because there's not one real close to me. I have the shades listed below: 1. Lorielle infallible #435 2. Fenty Beauty pro filtr #175 3. Elf Halo glow shade 4 medium 4. Elf Camo CC cream- light 205N 5. Maybelline fit me matte and poreless- 128 warm nude 6. Neutrogena sensitive skin serum foundation- light 01 7. Nyx total control drop foundation- light clair? 8. CoverGirl clean matte BB cream- 520 light 9. Maybelline fit me matte and poreless-120 classic ivory 10. Milani Conceal and perfect 2 in 1 foundation and concealer- Ivory Also, same with concealer? Does it need to be the same color or lighter? I have dark under eyes, and texture on my skin. My face is also a pinkish red, sometimes just red. My husband thinks these foundations make me look pale, but I feel like it would be the opposite and be too dark, orange? I also think I have hooded eyes. I'm just learning about blending eyeshadow, is there a better way to make my eyes stand out? Any help is greatly appreciated. I didn't have my mom or really any family to teach me. My dad raised me and while he tried his best, he had no clue about makeup, so I've been trying to learn everything off videos on tiktok and YouTube. submitted by /u/Upstairs-Leek4339 to r/PaleMUA [link] [comments]

I've recently started priming my face and it lasts a lot longer even when I'm sweating. I do know that my contour is super dark and it should be a lot lighter, I have a really hard time applying evenly regardless of how much I clean my brushes or how much or little product I use. I'm also still working on my ability to get it in the same place on both sides. I know my brow shape is very uneven too, but unfortunately my left brow has always been naturally arched much higher so I just work with what i have! i'm also not a big fan of no-make-up make up looks on me, I love my full glam, and I'd love to stick to it. I could definitely use some different eyeshadow techniques though I'm very much stuck in the 2016 cut crease if you can't tell!! I will say I've been branching out a lot in terms of eyeliner. I do a regular smoky eyeliner look to work now, instead of a striking black line. CC welcome, i could use some more glam growth!! submitted by /u/sad_girls_club to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

I think I finally found some foundations I can wear without needing to mix blue or green ~ Elf Camo CC Cream in new olive shade & Elf Flawless Finish in Beige
Foundations shown: 1st photo: Top shade: Elf Camo CC cream in their new olive shade, 205N light neutral olive. Crazy to finally see olive shades at the drugstore, especially something other than warm tan olive. I’ve tried this foundation before and had to mix shades to get a kinda not really match lol. They did a pretty good job with this shade. It could be a bit more green and muted for me personally but it’s definitely close enough to wear on its own without any adjustment. Go elf! Bottom shade: Elf Flawless Finish Foundation in Beige ~ only recommend for light cool olives. It’s listed as a cool pink foundation but I don’t see much pink, it’s name is perfect because it’s a muted grey beige. The formula of this foundation is wonderful it’s super creamy and blends amazing. I used to wear the shade “Natural” when I thought I was warm and I’m sure I looked orange. This shade is definitely my closest match and good for light cool olives. If you are sensitive to scent it does have a flowery scent. It goes away once applied though. Second photo: Elf Camo on the left, Flawless Finish in Beige on the right next to my neck I am a muted light cool olive, I used to think I was neutral leaning warm until I got color analysis by 2 professionals who both firmly told me I was cool olive (deep winter). What confirmed it for me was instead of mixing blue & green into a warm / yellow foundation like I always did, I mixed green into a cool foundation and got a way better match. However mixing can be tedious and I was still on the hunt for foundations I can throw on without having to play makeup chemist. I’m happy I found these because I feel like I can get away with wearing them without mixing. submitted by /u/couturemeplease to r/OliveMUA [link] [comments]
