Has anyone tried SPF Tage Cica Tree Water Jelly Sun Serum?
I’m considering buying the Tage Cica Tree Water Jelly Sun Serum SPF, but I can barely find any reviews online. I also searched Reddit and couldn’t find a single discussion about it. I have acne-prone skin, so I’m quite careful with sunscreens. I’m looking for something lightweight, non-greasy, and ideally non-comedogenic that won’t trigger breakouts. I originally found this SPF because it was recommended by an influencer, but I’m a bit skeptical since it looked like a sponsored recommendation. Link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXMm7tXCFsX Did it cause any breakouts or clogged pores? How does it feel on the skin (sticky, greasy, lightweight)? Would you recommend it for acne-prone skin? submitted by /u/zlutycech to r/koreanskincare [link] [comments]

My pores secretes oil and sweat as I apply my foundation.
Since last week, my face has been secretes oil and sweat every time I apply my foundation. This has been an on-and-off issue for me since last year, but it coming back seemed sudden to me because I thought it was a skincare issue. I'm asking if anyone had similar issues and what the solution was. Context and products: My skin type is combo and sensitive. My skin prep routine is just my toner—Round Lab Dokdo Toner, my serum—Torriden Dive-In Serum, my sunscreen—Skin 1004 Hyula-Cica Water Fit Sun Serum, and my primer of choice—Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm Powder, Shade 0.5 My current foundation is the Kryolan Tv Paint Stick, Shade 1W, however this issue has happened before with my other foundations, mainly the Haus Labs, Shade 60W and Huda Beauty Foundation, Shade Vanilla. In the past, I've used oil and sweat controlling primers to try and solve it, but it only worked 50/50. These primers were the ONE/SIZE Secure the Sweat primer, the ONE/SIZE Oil Sucker primer, and the Danessa Myricks Water Powder Serum. EDIT: More context. My skincare routine since ya'll asked: - Anua Heartleaf Oil Cleanser - Beauty of Joseon Peeling Gel, Night Only, Specifical Days - CosRX Good Morning Cleanser, Night Only - VT Reedle Shot, 300, Night Only, Specific Days - Roundlab Dokdo Toner - Dr. Althea Brightening Serum, Day Only - Anua Azealic Acid Serum, Night Only - Abib Eye Cream, Night Only - Differin Adapalene Gel, Night Only, Specific Days - Torriden Dive-In Serum - Torriden Dive-In Cream - Skin 1004 Water Fit Sun Serum, Day Only The reason I don't use my moisturizer in my skin prep routine in makeup is because I've been told that keeping your skin prep minimal helps prevent piling and separation. I took this advice because I use techniques from theater and drag due to the style and aesthetic I'm going at, which is douyin/eastern makeup. The reason why my moisturizer is gel and not cream is because I'm worried about clogging my pores on my T-zone. Some of ya'll thought the skin lifting from my nose from from being dry, it's not. That's from me accidentally nicking myself while shaving. Since ya'll seem to hone in that my skin type might actually be dry and that I'm experiencing TEWL, I'll try to use a typical cream moisturizer for the next week and if it'll change for the better. I'm using the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for Body and Face. submitted by /u/MethBitchDragon to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

Finally finished my holy grail sunscreen 🥲
Bought this a year ago in Japan at Matsukiyo on a whim when I saw Tina Tanaka Harris purchase it in one of her shopping vlogs. I had no idea what to expect but I didn’t think a drugstore brand sunscreen would outperform every other Japanese and Korean sunscreen I’ve tried, and it’s such a good value too! For context, I have oily skin, especially in my T zone area. Where I live isn’t very hot but is typically still humid since it’s right by the ocean and we get a lot of moisture in the air. Before trying this sunscreen, my other go-to sunscreens were Skin1004 Hyalu-cica Water-fit Sun Serum and Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit. Those two have the least glowy/dewy finish on me, but I would still be left with a slightly sticky/tacky feeling that never really dries down unless I apply setting powder over it. But this sunscreen. It goes on so easily and dries down really fast. It leaves zero tackiness on my skin. I can reapply throughout the day without any pilling at all. I don’t wear makeup though so I can’t say if it would pill in that situation. The bottle says it’s “brightening” but I don’t think it means whitening since it left zero white cast on my skin. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fragrance, but it eventually goes away after applying it. It’s so lightweight on my skin and while normally my T zone will get oily by midday, I really didn’t experience that on the days I used this. I hate that I can’t buy this anywhere online 😭 my new favorite sunscreen that comes very close in terms of user experience and finish is Skin Aqua Serum UV. But this Matsukiyo sunscreen still comes out on top due to its insane value for money. The only thing is I’m not sure how much I can trust the UV coverage since it’s a drugstore brand, though I never burned or tanned whenever I used it. Unfortunately I don’t remember how much I paid for it, probably around $12-15 USD. Definitely not over $20. Next time I go to Japan I’m definitely stocking up on this! submitted by /u/boleitea to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

Is the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum genuine?
The reviews on the Ulta site say that it is nothing like the original one people buy from overseas, and that the one of Ulta smells like heavy sunscreen. I would love to purchase it at Ulta, but I want the genuine product. submitted by /u/Icy_BlueJay_ to r/Ulta [link] [comments]

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF 50+ PA++++
Hello, this is my first review here. I recently finished a bottle of SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF 50+ PA++++, which lasted me about six months with fairly consistent use. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin that can swing between normal-oily and normal-dry depending on the day. I’m also using Epiduo. Overall rating: 8/10 This sunscreen is acne-safe and fungal-acne safe (at least in my experience), and it doesn’t pill, which is a huge plus. It genuinely worked really well for me, no breakouts, no compatibility issues, and it layers beautifully. When my skin barrier was compromised from Epiduo, it could sting slightly around the eyes, but otherwise it stayed comfortable. On drier days, I only needed a moisturizer underneath. It also sits really nicely under makeup. My main issue is the finish. It is very shinylike, “did I just dip my face in oil?” shiny. Even though I’m medium to fairr with cool undertones (think Casper the Ghost if he was a baddie who used bronzing drops 💅🏻) I usually don’t deal with much of a cast. But with this sunscreen, the shine sometimes created the illusion of a whitecast, which would fade after a couple of hours. Still, it was pretty annoying in the moment. It definitely gives a strong dewy finish, but in my opinion it leans more oily than glowy. The texture, though, is excellent and oh so lovelyyy: very serum-like, almost like a lightweight lotion. It feels slightly oily at first but settles into a silky, barely-there layer on the skin. Overall, it’s a really solid product and I do like it a lot. I might repurchase, but only if I find a good setting powder that can properly control the shine for my skin type. Best for: people who love a very intense dewy/oily finish, or anyone who has a good powder that can keep oiliness in check. Thin Cica Serums for Type 1 Rosacea?
Recently diagnosed with rosacea thanks to an incident with a red light mask. A big heads up for those of y'all with fair and sensitive skin: these do more harm than good. Haven't ever had to deal with rosacea til now and it's throwing me through a loop. Primary symptom: cheek redness. I've visited a derm and been prescribed various RXs which are too way much for my sensitive skin. Gave me skin crawling/pins and needles/tight skin sensations. Am now focusing on calming and repairing the barrier. My normal routine plus adding Dr Jart's cica moisturizer has helped some but the serum's way to thick for everyday use. It gave me 'real' acne which then needed exfoliating which then gave me the rosacea pustles, which I hadn't had before. Ugh! Am looking for thin cica serum recs from this sub. Anything I can use nightly without breaking my skin out. Any other recs (with or without cica) for acne prone skin sensitive Type 1 folks welcome! PSA: Niacinamide does not play well with me skin - it's way too drying - I also had a rodeo with trying a new zinc-based SPF. I recently ordered CutiCare sulpher cleanser and Prosacea cream. Currently, I use 10% azalaic acid in the am under my SPF and use CeraVe PM lotion at night. submitted by /u/vellichorxlibris to r/Rosacea [link] [comments]

On a mission to find my favourite k-beauty suncream 🤩
After doing a bit of research on suncreams that may work well for my skin type (acne-prone), I bought 6 suncreams, and I’m on a mission to find my holy grail! For me, that means one with no white cast, won’t sting the eyes, won’t break me out, and ideally, has no fragrance. I’ve listed the suncreams I’ll be trying out below, so if you have any questions, ask away and I’ll respond once I’ve finished using the product your question relates to. My aim is to use only use one suncream at a time and finish a whole tube before moving onto the next. 1. Beauty of Joseon - Relief Sun Aqua-fresh 2. Beauty of Joseon - Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics 3. Isntree - Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel 4. SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-fit Sun Serum 5. ROUND LAB - 1025 Dokdo Sunscreen 6. ROUND LAB - Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen I also plan to try out the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen, which I don’t currently have. If you have other recommendations that meets my suncream requirements, please let me know! 😊 submitted by /u/No-Mayo1 to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

Takes forever, but gets better. Trust the process.
Now vs. Then (September 2024) I've had oily, acne-prone skin with plenty of hyperpigmentation since I was a teen. But it was mostly hormonal acne, and it was never anything like that second image. That was some kind of infection that I think I got from swimming in very unclean water. At first, I spent like a month using overly harsh cleansers and actives, washing my face too often, not eating in a way that could help my body fight the infection off, not drinking NEARLY enough water for the healing I wanted to achieve, and basically just making everything even worse. Then, when I finally saw a dermatologist, I was initially given doxycyline and clindamycin, but I was NOT making the best of it. I was playing around eating a bunch of dairy still, not putting on sunscreen (and not re-applying often enough when I remembered to), and still using harsh facewash and toners because I thought they would help (spoiler: they did not). So it felt like I just kept applying and applying for like three months and not seeing any sort of improvement. I was literally living my entire life outside with one of those covid masks on every single day because I hated the thought of being seen so much, and yet I still wasn't doing the best for myself. Thankfully, I ran across a youtube video about "things you don't realize are hurting your skin" and actually listened to it properly for once, then did a bunch of research (though I still made mistakes ngl) and changed my habits. This is a list of steps I took (copied from my reply to a different post): I used a clean cotton shirt on top of my pillow case and changed it literally every night because the oil and bacteria leftover plus my hair products were just too much for my skin to fight I tried to drink at least 10 glasses of water with a day, more if I could (like I literally used alarms on my phone to remind me) I used benozyl peroxide 10% face wash every morning (\NOTE* - this was one of the mistakes! Apparently I should've been using it only at night!)* (ask your dermatologist first, sometimes there are combined benozyl peroxide+tretinoin creams you can use instead, but using them as separate products might require only using one in the morning or something, it depends) and only the cerave gentle cleanser at night I bought hydrocolloid bandages and cut them to fit specific parts of my face and used them every day, at home and under a mask when outside, sometimes even changing them two or three times a day (these are the big version of acne patches) I used sunscreen (SPF 50 PA++++, I use a Korean brand called singmulnara/식물나라) daily and reapplied regularly even tho it felt greasy and just un-fun sometimes I cut down my dairy and sugar consumption to as little as my happiness could tolerate I started taking bromelain supplements because they're anti-inflammatory I didn't use any exfoliating actives or physical exfoliation until like eight months in when my skin was a lot better I only moisturized with cerave, sometimes with a drop or two of a niacinimide and cica serum in my hand before I applied it Those are the main steps that made a HUGE change in the initial healing, and after around four months of this, my dermatologist put me onto a low dosage isotretinoin (10mg, twice a day) that did some serious heavy lifting in getting rid of the last of the acne. There were a few times long after the initial "purge" worsening period when I'd just get a huge cyst overnight seemingly, but I was able to go in for steroid injections directly into the pimple that just magicked them away within a few hours (and yes, it was absolutely mind-blowing every single time), or other times I put a tiny bit of the paula's choice benozyl peroxide gel directly onto it as soon as I noticed it forming and that usually made it go away. I just finished with the isotretinoin at the end of January. My current routine: Day: Cleanser: Cerave Gentle Cleanser Toner: ROUND LAB 1025 Dokdo Toner Serum: I rotate through these - APLB Glutathione Niacinimide, APLB AHA BHA PHA Centella, APLB Kojic Avid and Vitamin C (note: I currently live in Korea so these are more convenient, but when I go back I will be using Medicube serums if I can't get them probably) Moisturizer: Cerave Moisturizing Cream (in the tub) - I use a plastic makeup scoop instead of my hands to get a bit out and drop the serum into it Sunscreen: Singmulnara Light Watery Sun Gel (note: I will probably switch to ROUND LAB when I get back to America, I am fully convinced by Korean skincare at this point) Night: Cleanser: ROUND LAB 1025 Dokdo Cleansing Oil, then Cerave Acne Foaming Wash (10% Benozyl Peroxide) Toner: ROUND LAB 1025 Dokdo Toner >> I always do a Face Mask at night (yes every night) for 10~15 minutes, just any random one from those bulk face mask packages (like the Dermal ones) with the occasional premium one from Medicube Serum: the same ones I rotate through in the morning, as above Moisturizer: Cerave Moisturizing Cream (with serum mixed in) Random Other Things: I still drink hella water, and I still change my pillowcase frequently (and my towels, I have a separate one only for my face and I never re-use them after I shower, I'm like traumatized or something tbh). I still take the bromelain, but I'm probably gonna stop when this bottle runs out. I take collagen supplements in the morning. Sometimes I smear my whole face with a thin layer of aquaphor at night if I feel dried out for some reason. Also I keep my face masks in the fridge because the freezing cold mask after a hot shower is supposed to be good, and it does make my nose less red for a while. And I use a pimple patch the moment I see even a tiny dot of red anywhere on my face, even if it hasn't even itched yet, because why risk it??? But yeah. This is just to share progress, and to say that it does get better and you can overcome your acne, but it may take some lifestyle changes and it DEFINITELY takes a lot of consistency and actually listening to medical advice. And... A hella long time. submitted by /u/sinkintothesea to r/Blackskincare [link] [comments]

[Misc] I analyzed 90+ Reddit threads to find the best sunscreens
I scraped comments from 90+ posts where people asked “what’s the best sunscreen?” (plus some big skincare rec threads), then ran the whole pile of thousands of comments through an LLM pipeline to see which products consistently get love vs. mixed reviews. Goal wasn’t “most mentioned,” but “most positively talked about.” Method in a nutshell: – Scraped 90+ “best sunscreen?” threads & skincare megathreads – Ran GPT-5 + Gemini 2.5 to extract product names and classify sentiment – Scoring = ~70% positive vs. negative differential + ~30% positive/total ratio – Merged name variants so duplicates didn’t inflate scores (e.g., “Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun,” “BOJ SPF50+” → one entry) + some other nerdy sentiment tweaks that I won't bore you with Would love your feedback! submitted by /u/LoneKnight25 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Skin1004 Hyalu Cica Water Fit Sun Serum Review
Skin Type: Dry Climate: Dry and windy skin1004 hyalu cica water fit sun serum I needed a sunscreen that was hydrating without being greasy, especially with all the wind lately. Anything too oily ends up catching every stray hair on my face. Texture: It has a lightweight lotion consistency. I found it a bit less greasy than the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. Ingredients: Niacinamide, Centella Asiatica, Hyaluronic Acid scent: There’s no scent at all. I usually hate that sharp smell you get with chemical sunscreens, but this one didn’t have it. Even under a mask, I didn’t notice anything. As the weather started warming up, I noticed a bit more oil around my T-zone, so greasy sunscreens are a no go for me now. Thankfully, this one doesn’t add to the shine. That said, it doesn’t hold up well against sweat, so I wouldn’t recommend it for hot and humid days. Once I finish this bottle, I’m planning to try the Anessa sun milk. Since the weather’s getting warmer, I’ve been skipping cream and just going with toner, serum, and sunscreen. This one is hydrating enough that it works well even without layering a cream. It keeps my skin feeling comfortable without being too much. submitted by /u/Ill-Year-418 to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

[Sun Care] I am DESPERATE. Can someone please help me find a Japanese or Korean sunscreen that might not break me out and has a texture similar to Skin1004 hylu-cica water fit serum and lives up to its SPF claims?
I am so upset. It makes my life so much worse. Every sunscreen I have ever tried has given me pimples. I am someone who has never struggled with acne until I started trying to protect my skin from the sun. It makes me feel like wrinkles when I'm older is a better alternative to horrible skin while I'm young. I wear a hat every day instead and it makes me sad that I will have to wear a hat and sunglasses every day for the rest of my life. Sometimes I cover my entire face. I want to be able to feel pretty or fix my hair or sit by a window without the shades closed. I recently tried Skin1004 hylu-cica water fit serum and loved the texture because it doesn't have the greasy feeling of other sunscreens, but it gave me pimples after wearing it two days in a row and it broke my heart. Is that sunscreen waterproof? I am thinking if it is then I need one that is not waterproof or something to make it not so clogging. I want to use tretinoin or something to clear up my acne from all the sunscreens, but I need to find a better sunscreen first, so that I don't do extra sun damage. Dermatologists are no help. I ask them if it is possible that I could never find one that works for me and all they say is "no. impossible. you MUST wear sunscreen." and then they sell me a new, expensive sunscreen that also gives me acne and then I hand over the co-pay feeling so angry at doctors and the world. I am so frustrated and defeated. It has been 5 years. I don't know how much more I can take. Should I give up? TLDR: Sunscreen has made my skin worse rather than better. I love the texture of Skin1004 hylu-cica water fit serum, but it gives me acne. Can you recommend a Japanese or Korean sunscreen that lives up to its SPF claims? (maybe not waterproof? Would that help the acne?) submitted by /u/jescak to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

CAN I GOT FOR DOT & KEY
I have acne-prone skin with acne scars, and my skin often looks dull. Does the Dot & Key Cica Calming actually help? Is it worth buying? Does it give a glow and a pinkish, healthy look over time? submitted by /u/yoursfaithfuly to r/IndianSkincareAddicts [link] [comments]
