Help! Want to cover awkward air conditioner in living room. See other photos for aesthetic of our other more complete decorated rooms.
We have lived in our apartment for 12 years, and have been redecorating rooms over the last few years to graduate from our 20’s & 30’s which had a more CB2 aesthetic, to our 40’s which have a cozier, more peaceful, cottage kind of deal. The biggest problem I need to solve is this godawful air conditioner and how to cover it when it’s not being used. I absolutely hate the cabinets that exist out there to cover these. Something about the prefabricated look of them drives me bananas, so please not recommendations for those unless you’ve come across one that looks a little more elevated. So far, the only thing I can think of is: 1.) A giant wicker or seagrass tray that’s really big but shallow, that has handles so I can cover the AC, and I can place art around it. I have yet to find the right tray, sadly. What I like about this idea is that it could be used as a tray on our huge leather coffee table, so taking it down and putting it up would be a snap. 2.) An enormous print that I can lean on the photo ledge under it. This would be a little more annoying because I would have to just take the painting down to the garage during summer months. We live in a small 1940’a apartment in Los Angeles and it’s excruciatingly hot for about 6 months of the year, so the AC is always running in those months. The last photos are of prints we liked from PSTR, a great art print company. Unfortunately, my husband’s favorite was the one with the striped blankets, and when it came, it was a bit chaotic looking at that size so we returned it. I love the one with the blue horse - sadly it’s my husband’s least favorite. I like the swans, but there’s something about it that feel like it needs a bit more color. I am a designer and so I am fairly particular about artwork, and I find many other places I can get prints are kind of trite looking or too mass market for my personal taste. I want something affordable, but beautiful and organic looking and peaceful, so if anyone has recommendations outside of Great Big Canvas, allposters, or Society6 I’m all ears! Or if you know an artist who sells prints you think might be a good fit, I’m open to that! I’ve also considered getting one of those beautiful landscape wallpapers and framing it? Anyway, would love suggestions! Thank you so much 😊 submitted by /u/emwinfield to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Before and After: Living room in our 1960s Canadian Cottage (repost for proper formatting)
Hello all! I posted this a few days ago but did not properly format the title. So here it is again. My husband and I bought this house, our forever home in 2021, and moved in with the very little furniture we had from our previous small apartment, which was a mix of Ikea and hand me downs. We have no interior design experience, and felt very overwhelmed with what to do with this room. When I was pregnant with our first child we started frequenting antique malls, flea markets and thrift stores for fun, and that's when we found the style we were looking for. Traditional, but cozy and rustic in a way that fits the bones of this 1960s Canadian cottage. With all the brick, the dark wood floors and the fireplace, we leaned into that style with leather, dark wood, dark greens navies and reds, and mostly thrifted furniture and decor. The couch is the same blue couch but with a green couch cover from Comfortworks, the leather sofa is from Article but found on FB marketplace, the quilt is Faire Living. The art, art lights, side table, toy chest, record player, snowshoes, and brass hooks are second hand finds from all over. The curtains and lamp are Ikea, and the rug is a surprisingly soft jute rug from rugs dot ca The paint and panelling was done by my husband, who is not a contractor at all, but a very determined amateur who absolutely crushed it This is our main living area with our two young kids and it is attached to our kitchen and dining space so nothing is very expensive or precious, my children would destroy any such thing immediately lol Enjoy! Lmk what you think submitted by /u/gabbyandarthur to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Feedback on this idea to improve my living room
Hello! I love this subreddit and I was hoping to get some feedback on this idea to improve my living room and add some warmth. I was going for cottage/ coastal before but it looks pretty bare and cold at the moment Would adding these things help? - wood coffee table with 2 small colored ottomans instead of one large grey one - cream curtains - rust/ mustard accents to offset the blues - colorful art - paint the walls a slightly warmer shade We plan on replacing the stair railing with a wood one and updating our old windows, so hopefully that will improve the room too Any other suggestion? Thanks in advanced! submitted by /u/historicpeach to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

1925 English cottage style (?) home with long and narrow living room. Would love inspiration from anyone with similar space constraints!
Hi everyone! We moved into our 1925 home and are really struggling with layout in the living room. I’ve attached our basic room measurements and some layout ideas, but it seems like we’re just super tight on space. We would be open to interior designers too if there’s someone you recommend working with virtually or have had success with! Last picture is the furniture we moved in with, plus dog tax! submitted by /u/introvertwandering to r/centuryhomes [link] [comments]

Trapped him yesterday for neuter today, but procedure cancelled due to snow — next TNR day is March 17. He’s in a large carrier in the living room. How to handle this?
***UPDATE: My friend decided that he should let Clem go back outside to be with Mama Cat rather than stress him out by keeping him inside in a cage. There were literally no safe, larger spaces to keep him in. If you saw this cottage, you would understand. So for now, Clem and his mama are outside, being fed 2X daily by my friend, and all is well. My friend has gotten better traps from a local rescue and will re-trap for the March 6th TNR day. Thank you, everyone, for sharing your ideas with us! * * * * * * * **EDITED to clarify that Clem is not in the trap but is in a dog crate that measures 20”W x 33”L x 26”H, with a small litter box by the opening. TNR clinic rescheduled today’s procedures to March 6th. So a bit closer than the 17th.** My friend (in NJ) made TNR appointments for today (February 24) for the mother/son feral cats on his property whom he has been feeding for several years. He successfully trapped the son (Clem) yesterday, during the big snow storm, and he now has him in a large dog crate in his living room (along with two resident cats). But the shelter is closed today due to residual storm cleanup and the TNRs are cancelled. And there isn’t another TNR day until March 6th 17th. What should my friend do? Keep Clem in the dog crate for 2 weeks? (I included a picture of the size of the crate, with one of the resident cats next to it for size). If so, how would that work? He can’t let him hang out the bathroom, as it’s a small cottage and he won’t be able to keep the resident cats out of the bathroom for that long. Should he just keep him in the crate and tough it out? FWIW, my friend is pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to trap Clem twice, so he doesn’t feel like letting him back outside is a good plan. Mama cat was too savvy to be trapped this time around, so that’s a whole ‘nother thing. We would be grateful for your advice/ideas. Many thanks. submitted by /u/AlicePalace2 to r/Feral_Cats [link] [comments]

Let's discuss David and Yuna in the living room (EP 6)...
After watching episode 6 three billion times, I am still not sure... >!When Ilya and Shane arrive at David and Yuna's cottage... Do you think David has already told Yuna? In the book, David had already mentioned it to Yuna so she is surprised but not completely baffled. I feel the scene in the show is quite hard to read. The surprised noise she makes when she sees them walking up the drive way, could sound like "oh they are here, as expected, yikes" but it could sounds like "wait why is Shane walking up and who is that... Is that rosanov??" Then she looks between David, Shane and Ilya like "wtf?? Why are you talking about a charger?" When Shane says "I'm gay" she looks like "oh? I know but what does that have to do with anything?" But David looks like "yah I saw..." What do you think? The show is so book accurate that it stands to reason they followed the book, but it honestly feels quite ambiguous and the only changes they have made in the show seem to improve upon the original source material. IMO, this would be an improvement - David letting Shane explain for himself and not telling Yuna in advance Edit to add: What do you think David and Ilya talked about when Shane and Yuna were outside lol? ! submitted by

📆 TIMELINE: Bookcase build turned ✨EXTWEEEM✨ living room makeover | MaCenna Lee's non-stop procrastinating
Although I believe others have mentioned MaCenna had been bringing up building bookcases even before September 2024, I'm starting this bookcase build (turned extreme living room makeover) timeline from the point she makes her first dedicated video about it. 📆 September 19, 2024 MaCenna announces the bookcase project and shows the "design" as part of a Fiverr sponsored ad. https://preview.redd.it/kymkumw3nctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=e3111e986230630dca1a113bda2c7ecd698ff0c2 https://preview.redd.it/307amzs7nctf1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1554acfd13b64bfbf5f499483e5779565af53c00 📆 September 24, 2024 In this vlog, "flea market decor shopping & hosting family after renovations," she visits the flea markets to shop for things to put inside the bookcases that she hasn't built yet. 📆 October 1, 2024 During the Q&A, MaCenna announces she'll be doing the bookcases in November (2024) because she wants to decorate them for Christmas. https://preview.redd.it/g14g7inunctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=fbb90d83263cd5f801f72ab51063ba590b198b22 Quote (video transcript): yes I have it in my schedule to work on in November, cuz I want to do the patio first and then I want to do the bookshelves. I feel like it would be really nice cuz I'd love to decorate it for Christmas, so I'd love to have it done for sure. 📆 November 19, 2024 It's the middle of November and no mention of the bookcases in any of the vlogs since Oct 1, even though she "planned" to work on them in November. She posts a vlog full of excuses called, "DAYS IN THE LIFE: feeling lost, project delays & trying to get on track for the holidays." 📆 Also in November 2024 [I can't see exact dates of reddit posts while using the app, so this could have happened before or after the vlog above] MaCenna does an Instagram Live Q&A and confirms she wants to build the bookcases in November still, before Christmas, or during Vlogmas. During the IG Live she gives lots of excuses about why the "patio" makeover isn't done + why she hasn't started the bookcases yet. Clips from the live were shared here in the sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/XOMaCennaUnfiltered/s/vQ5eUfgBeR [From the comments on the linked Reddit post, it seems she also came to the decision of doing them for Vlogmas during that live or a post on IG stories shortly after the live.] 📆 December 2, 2024 It's Vlogmas Day 1, and MaCenna announces she changed her mind, and will NOT do the bookcases during vlogmas. 📆 December 10, 2024 Another Q&A. This time it's a "Wrap & Yap" for Vlogmas Day 9. Someone asked about bookcase progress and she says.... Quote (video transcript): I want that to be like the first project that I kick off in 2025. I haven't figured everything out but I think that that's naturally going to be the first one that I tackle. I had this idea to to do it over vlogmas. in this time of year it's already so chaotic with my film schedule, and just the holidays in general, to tear up our living room because it would be like I would have to like really dive in and like work on that project every day. it was just, it's just too much, my brain kind of started to shut down and I was like, oh I'm already tired even thinking about that, uh so I just like couldn't take that on. especially with like finishing the patio, which I'm going to dive into tomorrow, uh and then decorating for the holidays and stuff, it was just too hard. 📆 December 25, 2024 It's Vlogmas Day 24, and instead of just NOT mentioning the bookcases again, since she already said she'd do it in January, she instead breadcrumbs her audience by announcing that she's preparing for the bookcase project. Quote (video transcript): I also want to do the bookshelves in the new year um because I've feel like it's just like such a dead space like we need the storage and it's a dead space. [referring to the area behind the sofa] 📆 January 14, 2025 It's a new year and MaCenna's first vlog back after her holiday break. She weirdly smushed some winter decor in with the video about the LA fires. In this vlog she starts her 2025 breadcrumbing about the bookcases. She brings out a bunch of old books that she claims she bought for the bookcase project she'll be starting soon (🤣) and she tries to cram them on the entry console as part of her "winter decor" segment of the video. https://preview.redd.it/w0wc0i45pctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=1193b066cb484b52c1ed5a6df243de9a733bc9a7 📆 January 16, 2025 MaCenna decides it's time to share her plans for 2025, in her vlog titled, "2025 Goals & HUGE announcement you won't want to miss!" She shares what she wants to do & achieve in 2025. [Spoiler from the future: she did none of these things] Interestingly, she does NOT mention the bookcases amongst projects she wants to tackle. In fact, the bookcases aren't mentioned at all. Foreshadowing, perhaps? 🤔 📆 January 23, 2025 MaCenna spends an entire shopping video looking for items to decorate the bookcases she hasn't built yet, or even measured for. She also states that the shelving of the bookcases will be purely decorative and the bottom will be cabinets for storage. Timestamps (2:36), (12:05), (21:24), (21:30) 📆 January 25, 2025 MaCenna is shopping for items to put in the imaginary bookcases again! In this vlog she's on the hunt for "bookshelf things" at an estate sale. [She also shopped for patio items—she still hasn't finished the "patio" makeover that she insisted on doing betore the bookcases, back in October.] https://preview.redd.it/544x7cmlpctf1.png?width=1079&format=png&auto=webp&s=dd321d47dd9be99f2e18ec293632e0b4465fa942 📆 February 4, 2025 In today's vlog MaCenna starts off letting the audience know that she's still "collecting" things for the bookcases, but before she can do that, first she has some URGENT things to do for work. The urgent things ended up being going out to buy items to COMPLETELY COPY the valentines day post another creator made. You all may remember—we talked extensively about how ridiculous it was, here in the sub. https://preview.redd.it/nivs6snspctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=73f3b208d67b98c92031737ea3a77b3835bf2d31 📆 February 11, 2025 The Texas cottage vlog series begins as MaCenna hightails it to Texas in hopes of getting 1 million subscribers. 🤭 📆 March 18, 2025 https://preview.redd.it/p9t093a3qctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=b72bb51b20d3fcaeb77a505a7692fa5e2e7cf4aa MaCenna is back in LA for a few days and decides to take the opportunity to further breadcrumb her audience with tales of bookcases to come! She reminds us that the entire wall in her living room will be bookcases ONE DAY. But for now she's going to make it a gallery wall, so she can enjoy the art she has collected, even though she plans to be in Texas most of the year... Wait a minute... 🤔 📆 June 3, 2025 MaCenna couldn't ditch Texas fast enough after that hideous bathroom reno. Now she's back in LA, and just got her nails done for her "feminine phase." We later learn that means she actually won't be touching another project for the foreseeable future, due to not wanting to mess up her nails. https://preview.redd.it/8dqiw6wjqctf1.png?width=751&format=png&auto=webp&s=be292cbc62443b15e247861f0387405eb18701b2 [Spoiler from the future—she'll keep this same set until OCTOBER and only get them filled/maintained ONCE during that 4 month period] She also can't wait to TALK about the new projects she'll be working on now that she's back in LA for the whole summer. Projects like making pillows, hanging blue plates, and the vanity mirror. Noticably missing from the project list? Bookcases. 📆 June 17, 2025 Today's vlog is "malibu beach day & organizing our home." MaCenna drops bookcase breadcrumbs by showing the audience where she's "collecting books for the bookcases" in the garage. 📆 June 24, 2025 She's shopping for the imaginary bookcases again! This time she bought THIRTY (30) books for $30. Well that should surely be enough shopping for the bookcases now, right? She also reminds the audience about the cottage bookcases she built over 3 years ago. https://preview.redd.it/wb7cte7tqctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=939c3f304600da4298c84672c8cbb5c4e77a00fb Anyway, she crams her 30 books in the garage, probably never to be seen again, because now she's WATERCOLORING for 100 days [spoiler: she doesn't follow through with that either] 📆 June 29, 2025 Another shopping vlog. 😭 She buys a vase for the bookcases that don't exist yet and that she hasn't even measured for. But surely she must be close to building it by now, right? I mean she said she'd be building them in September 2024, and now it's June 2025, so she must be close to starting.... right? 📆 July 1, 2025 Guess what?! She's rattling off a list of projects she's going to tackle soon, like working on the guest bedroom (spoiler: just nightstands sponsored by Anthropologie) But she's also "getting her brain primed" for the bookcase build!🎉 To emphasize the "brain priming" she does a painful thinking gesture for some reason. We totally get it, MaCenna, thinking hurts! https://preview.redd.it/xq0lstpgrctf1.jpg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a421d0bbc25c2b7f06bc4b4d1301f663253da50b 📆 July 11, 2025 Whew, it has been several days since she was "priming her brain" to work on the bookcase, so she spends today's vlog SHOPPING for items to put inside the imaginary bookcases again! https://preview.redd.it/ydhk7l7nrctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=c13ed397028530f01d1f4f5d88794a8ca8477490 She states she's "on the hunt for bookshelf decor." Later she says she's going to "dive into the living room as well and do like the bookshelves and stuff" (8:04-8:09), and will use some smaller art from her gallery wall in the bookshelves. Those imaginary bookcases are SO FULL OF CRAP ALREADY, and they're not even built yet! 📆 July 29, 2025 Shopping again. 👉🏾🤯 Romeo finds a piggybank that he wants to display on the imaginary bookcases. Well, because it was Romeos suggestion and something HE wants to do, she of course hates the idea...but buys the piggybank anyway for some reason. https://preview.redd.it/6guqtyl0tctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=e80ef460aafffa47f9f4d4e29eb59dd841ca6293 📆 August 1, 2025 📍✨ The vlog, "roadtrip to discover what's next in HOME DECOR TRENDS," that we think is about her trip to a home design show in Vegas, becomes the official marker for when... 📍📍 the bookcase project morphs into an EXTWEEEEEM living room makeover. 📍📍 It's only a few second statement, but it changes the project from "bookcases" to a "LIVING ROOM MAKEOVER." Quote (video transcript): I'm starting on the living room. August is going to be like the living room makeover. So, August is in like a day or two. So, I've got to get started on like gathering my supplies and stuff. So, stay tuned. Living room makeover is underway. There's a lot of projects that are going to go into that room. And I'm excited to see that room that we spend so much time in come to life. That would be great. 📆 August 5, 2025 We're officially in August, the month she most recently dedicated to this project, so MaCenna decides she needs to buy wood and trim for the bookcases she'll build. https://preview.redd.it/2cy3md19tctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=5cbc35ad345b5342ed91b42f1739caabea0cdfff Oddly, she starts by shopping for TRIM for the bookcases, even though she hasn't chosen wood. She decides she also needs trim for the TV frame. She takes pictures of trim in the store, and buys nothing. She sits down with a new Anthropologie mug to tell her audience how this entire month (it's August 5, as a reminder) has been the hardest month ever. She's laying the groundwork for dipping out on the bookcase/living room makeover. After overwhelming herself by looking at trim, she tells the audience that actually the bookcases will be "phase 2" of the living room makeover. Likely because it allows her to procrastinate another week. 📆 August 12, 2025 https://preview.redd.it/gix69sjytctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=fe630b1a1c84b40ad95356539acd1d2cc8f544c3 This is it! She's going to buy wood for the bookcase build. Oh no, she got overwhelmed and left and didn't buy any wood at all. She also doesn't "design" the bookcases, as the title would have you believe. She goes home and talks about how she needs trim to match the wood she didn't buy. (yes, I know, but that's what happens!) Lastly, she comforts herself by forcing the audience to watch her unbox a haul of her online shopping addiction. 📆 August 14, 2025 https://preview.redd.it/8gi1kztuuctf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=22af93a2d7b1153cb8d8035b4c58715e21af2e16 MaCenna decides that even though she doesn't have any wood to build the bookcases, she needs to build a worktable for her saw, which she'll later use to build the bookcases. (sure, Jan.) She builds a wobbly uneven worktable. Seems proud. She also buys stain for a totally different unrelated project and says that it's a good test because she might want to stain her bookcases this same color. Even though she hasn't chosen the wood yet, and literally hasn't decided on the type of wood she'll be using or what color the wood will be, she's considering stains for some reason. Ok. 🫠 📆 August 22, 2025 We're shopping again 👉🏾🤯 She talks about needing to order curtains for the living room (as part of the makeover). She knows she wants roman shades, but she doesn't actually order any. [Keep in mind that if she's using Twopages—her favorite company because they'll sponsor/gift them to her—it will take about 3 weeks AFTER ordering for them to arrive.] Then she takes us shopping for...yup, more bookcase decor at the flea markets again. As a refresher: she hasn't even measured, or bought a single piece of wood at this point. 📆 August 27, 2025 August, the month dedicated to the living room makeover and bookcases is over, with no progress on either portion, except shopping for decor to cram inside the bookshelves. Quick monthly recap of August "working" on the living room & bookcase project... no wood decided on no wood purchased no measurements of the space taken no trim decided on or purchased for the TV frame or the bookcases no curtains ordered MaCenna announces that she's heading out to Texas for a quick trip, and that she'll START on the bookcases when she returns. https://preview.redd.it/yg6jqms5vctf1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21f1581b0196ad6ef043976e1c0f2ccb2f3dcc99 📆 September 9, 2025 MaCenna is back from Texas and as promised she jumps right into building bookcases! Oops, no. [Checks notes 📝] Actually she has now decided she needs new sofas, or fabric for new upholstery. Or both! So she spends a lot of time shopping for both upholstery fabric, and a different sofa for the living room makeover. She decides on nothing, and goes home empty handed again. No new new sofa, not even a single fabric sample to consider. Absolutely no progress made. Still, she takes a moment to tell the audience that the living room makeover is her priority. And moments after saying that, she turns around and starts redecorating Romeo's office that she has taken over. Lastly, she announces she will be stripping the the beams in the living room the following day. 📆 September 12, 2025 In this vlog she empties the living room. She says she promised Romeo it should only be a few days. 🤭 She... Doesn't strip the beams. Instead she makes a test spot with stripper because she thinks it's going to be too hard and she might paint them with Retique-It instead. She also plays dress up so she can record the "before" footage for the main channel and social media. Other than taking the living room furniture out, no progress was made. 📆 September 16, 2025 Yay, Romeo has stripped one beam, which means it's time for MaCenna to drag things out by doing another Q&A! The title of her video mentions design plans, but she's actually just answering fake questions for a Q&A literally nobody cared about, like where she plans to put a xmas tree. Half way through September and 1 beam has been stripped for the living room makeover and bookcase build. https://preview.redd.it/07ztpx25wctf1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba6cd6eba3c2396b049d0e870cfca147315c03d8 📆 September 19, 2025 At the end of a vlog titled, "fall bedroom refresh" MaCenna announces she'll be posting the first episode "Chapter 1" of the living room makeover/bookcase project on the main channel "VERY SOON" [Spoiler: this was a lie] 📆 September 26, 2025 After pretending like the living room makeover and bookcase project didn't exist for a couple vlogs, MaCenna picks things back up and goes shopping for trim, for the THIRD TIME. This time, specifically for trim for the TV frame. She buys a single piece of trim, that's not enough to do the whole frame, but says she'll get more at another location (she did not). Progress made on the actual makeover and bookcase build since the last video about it - 0% Possibly 1% if you consider her buying a single piece of trim that she didn't use. https://preview.redd.it/7hbuu9piwctf1.png?width=1079&format=png&auto=webp&s=f38a70a55709e261b4dbafd836c55a6ee7fdcd6f The video concludes with her saying she's going to "prepare " to work on the fireplace, which she claims will also be in "Chapter 1" of the living room makeover video that was already supposed to be published on the main channel the previous week. She then claims that "Chapter 1" will be on the main channel this Sunday (Sep 28th). [Spoiler: this was a lie] 📆 October 1, 2025 She's back with another excuse after failing to upload the "Chapter 1" main channel video for the living room/bookcase, yet again. This time, she painted 5 bricks on her fireplace, determined it a failure, and spent the next few day's running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to find brick veneer for her fireplace instead. After transforming herself into Goldilocks, where every brick was not quite right, she finally finds exactly what she's looking for, but there's not enough in stock. https://preview.redd.it/wpa7zevkxctf1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1c6e6087247de54d8e68801db8aa52feca83944 She later calls another location and they have the brick veneer she liked in stock, in abundance. Instead of heading to that location and buying the veneer that she liked, she instead does more googling and more shopping around only to eventually come home completely empty-handed, having bought nothing. She has successfully procrastinated and delayed her main channel "chapter 1" videos, yet again. 📆 October 3, 2025 MaCenna is back at the hardware store getting brick veneer again. Only this time she visits the location that has the brick she wanted in stock. Somehow, she leaves with a completely different brick. She doesn't explain how or why, she just carries on as if the original brick she wanted in the last video was a group hallucination the audience had. https://preview.redd.it/vlkwz67qxctf1.png?width=880&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b604e0929df1e1bb05094334e6eb86743919ed5 Now, with a completely random different brick in hand, she hurries home to... Put up Halloween decorations?! She ends the vlog without mention of the "Chapter 1" video for the main channel, or the bookcases, or any living room makeover progress. Guess we're back to pretending she's not MONTHS behind. xo Bye guys! submitted by /u/ihearthorror1 to r/XOMaCennaUnfiltered [link] [comments]

I was looking at old English cottages I’ll never afford and came across the Platonic ideal of a living room.
Sunlight pouring in, overflowing plants, well-worn floorboards w/ rugs, piles of books, a woodburning stove with chopped logs next to it. Just perfect. (shame about the TV, verrrrry slightly ruins the fantasy). I want to drink red wine in there. I want to be old and weird in that room. The listing is here if you want to snoop. The rest of the property is nice, but nothing reaches the heady heights of that reading room. Found some other cute cottages on my search here too. submitted by /u/rickyafro to r/cottagecore [link] [comments]

Living room makeover - what is my style?
After 16 years with uncomfortable ikea furniture, I finally upgraded! The light, couch and chairs, and pillows except the tiger are Serena and Lily, table is Jonathan Adler, rug from Etsy! The last 2 pics are the before - taken by a professional photographer back when I rented out my house. My house is a tiny 150 year old Victorian cottage in a New England seaside resort town. Besides just being ready for something different after 16 years of mostly the same, I was trying to move away from some, but not all, of the beach house vibe. The old furniture was always meant to be temporary, but persisted since I had 2 cats to trash the place, and other projects to spend the money on instead. When deciding where to start, I knew I wanted to stick with white, and always liked the contrast with that and a red rug. I did a redo with a similar vibe in my bedroom last year and decided to carry it into the family room. The built in is mostly unchanged but always evolving (I travel for work and pick up new things all the time,) I am currently looking for a new pair of urns/vases to replace the TJMaxx specials I currently have. I’m not sure what my style is? It feels like a mashup but I don’t know of what. submitted by /u/bimbels to r/HomeDecorating [link] [comments]
