I’ve been in and out of hospital with the same thing the last 4 weeks, it’s become so debilitating and distressing. Still chasing a report from cardiology to see what recommendations they can make - my resting heart rate sat up is 150/160. Google Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia- it’s really interesting and fits and really highlights how it needs to be recognised and not dismissed. I’ve definitely...

May I ask you about your tachycardia? I have never been diagnosed with it, although anecdotally I do sometimes feel that my heart beats fast and while in labor, it was averaging 124. They had me do an ekg after I gave birth because the nurses were concerned that it was so fast. The ekg didn’t show anything other than a fast heart rate. How was your tachycardia diagnosed? And what causes it?

I was told I had a heart murmur caused by pregnancy but that it should go away. There are also heart issues (like WPW— I found out I had it at 35 years old!) that are exacerbated by pregnancy. Rapid heart rate, etc. I’d see a cardiologist just to be safe. Unless they do an EKG a dr wouldn’t know if it’s really anxiety (I was told my fast heart rate and dizziness was anxiety for years).

Mine stayed between 130-150. I was asked a few times if I normally have a fast heart rate, or “are you nervous?” In my head I’d think of course I am, I’m a FTM in labor!! When a new nurse would come in the current nurse would catch her up and I heard many times “her heart rate stays elevated” I guess they weren’t concerned because it was constant 🤷🏻‍♀️
