Which Fitbit for a newbie in 2026?
Coming from Garmin Venu 3, and I am really looking for great battery and google Wallet. Garmin uses some useless pay called Garmin Pay, I wish they would integrate Google Wallet. From what I have read on the reviews, pretty much any Fitbit will satisfy my two wants. Also seems like all Fitbits will track heart rates, steps and sleep. Do any have Fitbits the ECG function? Anyway, thank you for any comments and suggestions for me about what Fitbit you would recommend. Also, I will be 60 on my next birthday. I only really use for walking ,occasional biking, and I like looking at the sleep metrics as well. I am not a hardcore athlete. submitted by /u/Lar281 to r/fitbit [link] [comments]

Fitbit saved my life.
So, day after Christmas, came home from a hard workout and I was freezing. Like involuntary shaking and teeth chattering freezing. It was raining and cold out so I figured it was just the weather, so I got under a couple covers and warmed up. About an hour later, I was finally warm and my Fitbit starts going nuts. "We noticed your heart rate is elevated, but you don't appear to be doing any physical activity." Look at the app and my heart rate is fluctuating between 120 and 160 leading up to the alert. This after falling to my normal range (80ish) after getting home from the workout. Didn't feel my heart racing, so decided to monitor for a couple hours, it never dropped below 120. So off th the ER we go. Long story short, I had a raging infection that had gone undetected and ended up in the hospital for 5 days with massive amounts of antibiotics and eventually a toe amputation (I am diabetic and they think a small sore is where the infection got into my body, even though it was healing and did not present as being infected). I never felt bad, the wound on my toe was healing, and did not present any signs of infection. Had the Fitbit not alerted me, I probably wouldn't have gone to the hospital as soon as I did and the infection and treatment could have been sooooo much worse. submitted by /u/ALostSoul77 to r/fitbit [link] [comments]

Is Fitbit still the best at sleep tracking?
I am looking for something that could track my sleep very well because sometimes I wake up for an hour in the middle of the night and then goes back to sleep again. I would also nap randomly from 20m-1h during the day. My sleep quality has decreased dramatically this year, I need something that could tell me how much I actually slept, how well I slept with how many times that I woke up during the night, and a daily readiness score. Should I still buy a Fitbit? Or should I choose another brand?
heard that Fitbit might be discontinued soon, and I’m worried that there won’t be any support for the watch or the app in the future. My Versa 2 stopped working last week after 6 years of use. I have an iPhone, so I wouldn’t be able to use a Pixel Watch. An Apple Watch is too expensive for me, and the battery life is ridiculously short. What should I do? Should I buy another Fitbit, which I’ve loved so far, or switch to a different brand? And is Fitbit support really guaranteed? submitted by /u/Civil-Entrepreneur-6 to r/fitbit [link] [comments]

Google is killing off FitBit. Where are you migrating?
[Edit. Turns out I was maybe mislead by some random articles and other threads. But it could still happen. So let's go with IF FitBit takes a dive, what device and apps would you turn to?] Looking for reviews and general info/opinions on alternative fitness trackers (NOT smartwatches). I currently have the Charge 4. Was going to get the 6 until I found out about the changes. I'm sure some fitbit stuff will be around for another year or two at least, but I'd rather just go with a whole other brand since they're eventually going to phase them out altogether. I have no interest in the bulky pixel watches or other things Google has. I love google as a service, but I do not want a smartwatch constantly pinging notifications and data at me and distracting me all day, I just want fitness tracking and a simple (reliable) app. submitted by /u/Treagus to r/fitbit [link] [comments]

Garmin, don’t become like Fitbit. We didn’t buy your watches to pay for data we already own.
Dear Garmin, We, long-time users of your watches, are deeply concerned about the path you're taking. Garmin used to stand out as the one brand that gave us full access to training insights, body metrics, and performance tools — without any monthly fees. That was your strength. That was your identity. Now we’re seeing core features slowly being put behind a paywall — exclusive challenges, recovery analysis, AI-generated workout suggestions. You're turning into just another subscription-based platform, like Fitbit or Apple. But that’s not why we trusted Garmin. We don’t want gimmicks or flashy interfaces. We want precision, freedom, and full access to the data our watches collect — without being asked to pay again after spending €300+ on a device. If this trend continues, many of us will start looking elsewhere. Garmin was supposed to be different. If you become like the others, you’ll lose what made you great. Please listen to your community — before it’s too late. Garmin #ConnectPlus #NoToPaywalls #WeOwnOurData #SubscriptionFatigue submitted by /u/No-Virus-2173 to r/Garmin [link] [comments]

Fitbit or alternative?
EDIT: Thank you all so much for your input! I've decided to take u/DistanceNo2061's fitbit if it's still available. But if I manage to kill it (or if she gave it away to someone else while I dithered) I will definitely look into all of your recommendations. You have made me feel very welcome :) I've just started walking after being sedentary for the last couple of years, especially the last 6-8 months. I'd like to get something to count steps for me. I've had three fitbits (at least two different models), and each one lasted less than a year. I'm not rough with them or anything, they just... die. I both can't afford, and have no desire for, a smart watch. I don't really care about a lot of bells and whistles. Fitbit confirmed that it will share period-tracking data "to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request"
I use my Fitbit watch for period tracking. I asked Fitbit if they would share my period tracking data with the police or government if there was a warrant. After a few weeks and some back-and-forth, this was the response I received: As we describe in our Privacy Policy, we may preserve or disclose information about you to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request. Please note: Our policy is to notify you of legal process seeking access to your information, such as search warrants, court orders, or subpoenas, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so. So this is awful. I can't think of any legitimate reason to disclose my period tracking information to any outside party.
