Travelled by train for the first time in my 23 years of life and it was wholesome
The sleep I got at night was way more comfortable than I expected and not to over exaggerate but I haven’t slept so comfortably even at my own home with So called high resilience mattress and gel infused memory foam pillows, lol. I don’t know how the phenomenon works. I thought privacy would be an issue but I was proved wrong. The curtains did a decent job. The washrooms were still a big NO ! for me. Didn’t try the in-train food as I was not sure of the hygiene and instead ordered it from Zomato. I was so excited to see real farms and farmers farming on their land as the train passed through villages. It was so wholesome for me to actually see it in front of me. Soo many isolated empty railway stations with no humans in sight. It seemed to serve no purpose and felt unreal. The people who lived in those remote locations didn’t seem to have any high tech gadgets or the life full of luxury but still their lives felt peaceful through the window. Even though our families reached the cities first, got their hands on things that make life easier and comfortable, the real comfort comes with peace of mind which those rural people had. submitted by /u/compressed-beauty to r/TwentiesofIndia [link] [comments]

Absolute Tails wanders around, a high-tech blaster by his side and 7 robotic tails attached around his waist
When creating Absolute Tails, I decided to base his backstory off of Nine from Sonic Prime but with some slightly darker elements, I will be using Nine for his design (lore) Miles Prower was a young, 2-tailed fox from Westside Island, he was bullied due to his abnormal amount of tails but there was nobody to help him, he took it into his own hands, creating many gadgets, such as weapons and his 7 robotic tails, one day when he set out from his home, when a bully approached him, he shot them point blank, setting an example of what would happen to those who messed with him, but he hated himself for it, he vowed to never let this happen to anyone again, he now wanders the world, trying to stop others from becoming like he did submitted by /u/hypersonicplays to r/EggsoluteRP [link] [comments]

Need recommendations on high-tech, otherworldly, or clockwork/steampunk-y items.
So, I run a homebrew setting where one particular city-state was governed by a god of artifice and craft. When he was a mortal, he was responsible for creating and improving firearms. Because of this, the whole culture of this city revolved around technological advancements and discoveries. In the setting, there was a massive interplanar cataclysm that destroyed several cities, this one included. It was an underground, dwarven-style metropolis carved into the interior of a mountain. It became engulfed by the plane of shadows, and horrible creatures inhabit it nowadays. I've alluded to it the whole campaign, and now that we're in the endgame, my players are finally heading there. Many eccentric craftsmen used lived in the city and may have created technological gadgets and things that maybe never really saw the light of day when it came to mass production, but there might be still be prototypes buried under the rubble. I'd like some recommendations of cool/interesting items that either are high-tech/steampunk/clockwork themed, or could be easily flavored as high-tech/steampunk/clockwork. My players are all level 11 (which is this campaign's level cap, we're doing kind of E6~E8 but it's E11 I guess lol), and we use a homebrew variant of ABP, so items that simply give enhancement bonuses to stat boosts, or resistance bonuses to saves, are mostly out of the table. I can easily remove a stat boost from an item that gives other benefits and tweak its price, though. Just earlier today, someone made a post mentioning the Lightning Gun, which kind of fits really well here, but it's a bit too strong, I think. I know there's the "Expended" version, which I'm already considering as possible loot. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I guess I could give a little bit more context regarding my players' party comp. They have: Thundercaller Bard - mostly focuses on buffing. Has decent strength, occasionally dips into melee but doesn't really deal good damage with it. Empiricist Investigator - uses a longbow (an oathbow, to be precise), deals pretty good ranged damage but doesn't have the best to-hit bonuses. Is very squishy and has died like twice. Spellslinger Wizard/Eldritch Archer Magus - uses two pistols and spell cartridges. Decent, reliable damage, barely ever misses because firearms. Gloomblade Fighter - crit-fishing TWF build, is by far the best damage dealer of the party. Can easily dish out 300 DPR with a little luck. submitted by /u/MatNightmare to r/Pathfinder_RPG [link] [comments]

I’m sorry wasn’t Overwatch supposed to be high tech only with a few exceptions of magic shenanigans like Genji and Hanzo?
I though Overwatch was supposed to be a “military elites in a war between 2 factions with high tech only” Then why am I only seeing characters who don’t fit at all that mood? Mizuki, Kiriko and Anran clearly use magic and it feels out of place in a universe where the basic usage is guns or high tech gadgets Even Juno, Venture, Hazard and Wifeleaver have me thinking “Why are you even here for? What elite are you supposed to be?” They don’t make me see them as someone who would beat a squad of Null troopers themselves (Hazard and Wifeleaver are a lil more forgivable considering their beefs with vishkar) Jetpack cat is meh, 50/50 he looks like a weapon made for battle but not that useful or successful realistically Domina and Vendetta despite having me wondering why’d they go to a gunfight without any armor (but that is questionable on a lot of characters) at least make me think “damn if I were to fight them I’d get my ass whooped” same for Embre So yeah why am I seeing more magic representation and non elites into OW? submitted by /u/Flame_Guardian47 to r/Overwatch [link] [comments]

Micro Tech and Gadget Kit
I’ve been checking out lots of different kits on this sub for a while now, and got some excellent ideas for you all! (Quarter for scale - a banana seems too big) Goal: - Smallest possible kit that contains all the tech and gadgets that I’d need/want for a trip away. (This Viperade pouch is 3.5” x 5” x 1.5”) - Wanted to be able to toss it in any bag that I was taking - wanted a setup that allowed me to have a little charge stand on my bedside table when in hotels - wanted a USB C cable that was at least 5 ft long to make it more practical to plug in Notes: - Carry-on safe scissors / multitool (NexTool S0 Micro Scissors Multitool) - something to write with (Mini Sharpie & OHTO Minimo Ballpoint + Rite in the Rain Wallet Notebook) - mini compass is fun (SUUNTO Clipper Compass) - flashlight (OLIVHT Oclip EDC) - Saw John Gadgets you EDC kit always have high strength string and a magnet to dig out keys in tight places and liked it - a few USB C adaptors & a Data Blocker for sketchy USB C ports - small fold of gorilla tape submitted by /u/Speedyk2000 to r/onebag [link] [comments]

A FPS mmorpg with futuristic high tech environment, weapons and enemies. No magic. Monsters are ok if most enemies are not monsters.
. FPS means you need to aim, no target selecting (except for homing guns) A futuristic game played 95% of the time in the flourishing wilderness is not that futuristic to me. I want futuristic dense dark towns, bunkers, bases, buldings with cameras automatic doors with electronic locks etc. wilderness can just be a devastated desert or inside a garden. Magic is like mana is your generic nanobots for implanted weapons ammo and to become gadgets. Too far from our reality. So no magic. I want forged ammo, devices, guns, implants etc. Monsters like from dreams are not that fun. Unless they are augmented cyborg humans, dogs, bears etc, may be some deformed abomination supported by cybernetics. Spawning dream monsters everywhere is not futuristic to me. Everything that depends too much in nanobots are weak to me. They go thru the magic way path. You didnt have to forge the stuff, they auto forge in the air, to me it feels weak. Mmorpg is cool, people are always the best surprising challenge, but we could be able to single play too and offline too. A good and long main quest story is good too. submitted by /u/RivitsekCrixus to r/gamingsuggestions [link] [comments]

List of items that will likely be impacted by tariffs, stock up now if you can.
I've seen a couple of threads about this but not really a list, it's possible I missed one though. I found this one on Facebook and wanted to share: Stock up NOW while you still can and think LONG TERM. Birthdays, holidays, emergencies. PLEASE don’t get caught scrambling later when prices are sky-high and stock is wiped out. If it’s made in China, it’s about to cost you more and that's if you can even get it. Stock up now for the next 6–12 months. Move while everybody else is not paying attention or burying their heads in the sand. Please don't spend unnecessarily because if you're not in the 1%, you're going to be impacted. ELECTRONICS & TECH: Phones Laptops, tablets Chargers, cords, adapters Headphones, smartwatches CLOTHING & SHOES: Everyday clothes (jeans, shirts, jackets) Socks, underwear Sneakers, boots Heavy coats for winter, summer clothes and shoes TOYS & BABY GEAR: Toys for birthdays and Christmas Board games, puzzles Car seats, strollers, cribs, baby monitors FURNITURE & HOME: Beds, mattresses, sofas Desks, chairs, shelves Lamps, lighting CAR STUFF: Brake pads, filters, car batteries Tires, parts Motor oil, car care products, wipers etc PERSONAL CARE: Skincare, haircare, hygiene supplies Makeup, razors, toothbrushes Beauty gadgets and products FOOD & SUPPLEMENTS: Canned fruits, veggies, frozen seafood Snacks, spices, vitamins, supplements HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES & TOOLS: Rice cookers, air fryers, blenders Vacuums, steam mops, lawn mowers Power tools, gardening tools Additions from OP: garbage bags (or better yet reusable pail liners) and sunscreen/UPF clothing/hats, both inspired by this thread from the other day. submitted by /u/quietly-bookish to r/TwoXPreppers [link] [comments]

My retirement has been delayed a Decade - I've lost 40 percent of my Net Worth since early February
Just curious if anybody else is as fucked as I am. So, the good news, I suppose, is that my 40 percent net worth loss is just on paper. I haven't panic sold (yet). There's like 5 different times where I should have panic sold. I would have been much better off, but now I feel it's too late. I'm currently 54. Originally, I was hoping to retire last December. Then I was thinking I'd retire this December for sure, or maybe December 2026 as a worst case scenario. Now, it's looking like my retirement could be delayed another decade, if not cancelled completely. It's pretty amazing how quickly this has happened. I was looking at my stock portfolio in early February, and it was at an all-time high. My net worth was slightly more than 1 million at that time. (maybe 80k over 1 million). Now.... don't get it twisted. I'm not even close to being rich or wealthy (or more accurately was rich or wealthy). Yes, my net worth did hit 1 million about 70 something days ago, but I don't own any property. Every penny I have is basically in the stock market. I live by myself in an apartment. I make basically no money. The only good news I can say is that I work for the government and thus have a good healthcare plan. I will also get a very tiny pension, when I finally do retire. That's pretty much the end of the good news. I'm paid a measly $25 per hour in my office job for the government (that's my gross per hour, lol) My pension, if I was to retire right now, might be $1200 per month, but possibly a bit less after some deductions. Assuming Social Security exists when I'm 62 in another 7 or 8 years, I'd get another $1200 for that. I'm not even a full-time employee. I only get about 30 hours per week. My monthly spend is about $2600. I actually make about $2350 or so after taxes per month, so I have a shortfall of $250 per month. (I've been taking out money from my portfolio to cover my monthly shortfalls) I live in a very high cost of living location in Northern California. A relatively mediocre 3 bedroom 2 bath house with 1500sq in a "decent" neighborhood is about 700k here. If you want a "good" neighborhood, it's more like 1.2 million. You can't find a one bedroom apartment for less than $1400-ish, unless you go to a legit ghetto type area where there's gunshots nightly. I'm lucky in the fact that I got a 2 bedroom apartment in a decent area back in 2021. I'm paying $1450 per month for my apartment. I spend no money on ANYTHING basically. Just bills and food. Nothing else. I haven't been on any vacation since the summer of 2019. I don't spend money on clothes, gadgets, streaming services, video games, movie theaters, restaurants, sporting events, concerts, you name it. I basically stay home 24/7. I go for long walks to help with my mental health/boredom. I'm divorced with no money to try to pursue dating. I tried online dating a few times, but it was a complete waste of time. Anyways, shit is really, really, really bad, but I guess things could be even worse. I could be living under the freeway overpass. I see people every single day that are living under the freeway overpass. They're only about a mile from where I'm living. I walk by them on my way to the grocery store. My physical condition is really good, although my diet is pretty shitty. I don't have the money for high quality protein sources, or good vegetables and fruits. I still buy fruits and veggies when I can get them on aggressive sales, but it's getting more rare. Just curious if anybody else is as ass-out as I am. I'm not looking for any pity or anything. Nobody put a gun to my head and forced me to have my entire portfolio in tech stocks. Nobody put a gun to my head and forced me to have a low paying job. I made my bed and I'm sleeping in it. I suppose misery loves company and I'm just looking for some company, lol submitted by /u/LarryJones818 to r/GenX [link] [comments]

Been waiting 8 years for this beauty and she’s finally mine!
Check out my brand new 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz with a blue two-tone exterior. It’s a first edition AWD with a 91kWh battery and 330 horsepower. And there’s lots of fun interior specs like a smart sunroof, 360 backup camera, and a large carplay screen. When they first announced the Buzz in 2016/2017 I was immediately hooked! I was like yes that’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. So I went to the VW dealership where I had bought 3 cars prior, and begged for information. They or course had nothing to share. Since then I have been annoying my sales rep (sorry man!) and reading every article and update I could find about it. I found myself in need of a new car in 2022 and got an ID.4. It has been really fun diving into the EV world. I love the way the ID.4 drives and glides down the road. And all the tech gadgets are fun also! Yesterday. Finally. I got the call from VW that there was a Buzz on the lot that I could come look at. I went down this morning and fell in love! The ID. Buzz gives me all the warm nostalgic feelings but with new fancy features! It drives very smooth, just like the ID4. The battery has a huge capacity, there’s a ton of modular space on the inside, and it’s also very zippy! My only complaint is the high step up to get inside. But I’m sure I’ll get used to that. I’m so stoked to finally have this amazing vehicle! Can’t wait to plan a trip and really test it out! submitted by /u/gobstopper84 to r/electricvehicles [link] [comments]

What happened to the Daniel Craig era James Bond series?
The general sentiment around the Craig era is that Casino Royale and Skyfall are masterpieces and the other films are either just "okay" or downright stupid/boring, definitely not must-rewatch material like the first and third. I couldn't help but notice that after Skyfall there seemed to be a misguided tonal shift. The first three movies definitely were trying to go for a more grounded-in-reality approach with real life stakes that felt relatable to our modern world (Terrorists/African warlords/Foreign coups). They definitely wanted to ditch the mustache-twirling evil-lair campiness of the earlier bond films in favor of making them as realistic as possible. They even hang a lampshade on this in Skyfall when Q says "A gun and a radio. What were you expecting an exploding pen? We don't really go for that anymore." However in the last two films, they seem to ditch this attempt at over-realism and lean back into the campiness of the old era with notable silly/campy plot points such as the sinister shadowy men sitting around a giant golden table, or a killer nano-robot virus that targets DNA, or machines that can wipe your memories/mind-control you. The gadgets themselves also seem to have taken a 180. Despite them poking fun at the campiness of the older bond films with their high tech gadgets, they end up going back on it and added silly gadgets like the magical magnet balls that allow you float like in zero-gravity. Keep in mind there is nothing wrong with this approach if you wanted the whole franchise to be like this but the over-the-top campiness of the last two (and arguably bits of the third) definitely clash with the tone that was initially established in the first movie. The later bond movies also seem to have an obsession with bond as a character with a sort of "he's key to all of this" approach whereas in the first couple movies Bond was just a normal expendable but highly-competent agent. They also pull the "everything is connected" card, and claim all the villains from the first movies were all secretly working together instead of just letting them stand on their own and have their own motivations. For me personally, I got so attached to the way the first movie was presented that I just couldn't get on board with the last couple. I don't know how we went from targeting financial operations of terrorists to trying to stop killer micro robot infection missiles, and the jarring shift in tone is just too much for me to overlook as someone who prefers the more grounded movies. I still watch Casino Royale and Skyfall to this day, but I never had any desire to rewatch any of the others. Am I alone in this? submitted by /u/Nicole_Auriel to r/movies [link] [comments]

My "High Tech" Trading Setup
I always see the Fancy setups with their 5 monitors but noone ever shows where it all starts. I'm a self-taught DayTrader that created my own trading method from Scrach (almost 2 years to develop) and this week I have been doing my trading in bed with an IPhone... I Just want to Motivate anyone that thinks you need all the fancy gadgets and screens and all this extra information, i have all that as well but still just prefer the simple Iphone/Ipad lol. Weekly Progress: +38% Monday. +5% Tuesday (forgot to set alarm). +11% Today to put me at +60% for the week. Average trade time last between 1-10min. Today was literally 11% in 2 min. I know people will say I'm just getting lucky but idc anymore ill just let the Numbers speak for themsleves. GOOD LUCK today. submitted by /u/iShOOtStickz to r/Daytrading [link] [comments]

I’m Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak, Ask Me Anything!
Hi Reddit, I’m Steve Wozniak. I will be participating in a Reddit AMA to answer any and all questions. I promise to answer all questions honestly, in totally open fashion, even when the answer is that I don’t have an answer to a specific question or that I don’t know enough to answer it. I recently shot an interview with Reddit as part of their new series Formative, in which I talk about the early days of Apple. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrhmepZlCWY The founding of Apple is often greatly misunderstood. I like clearing the air about those times. I like to talk about my ideas for entrepreneurs with humble starts, like we had. I have always cared deeply about youth and education, whether in or out of school. I fought being changed by Apple’s success. I never sought wealth or power, and in fact evaded it. I was able to finish my degree in EE&CS and to fulfill a lifelong goal to teach 5th graders (8 years, up to teaching 7 days a week, public schools, no press allowed). I try to reach audiences of high school and college and slightly beyond people because of how important those times were in my own development. What I taught was less important than motivating students to learn. Nothing can stop them in that case. I’m still a gadgeteer at heart. I buy a lot of prominent gadgets, including different platforms of computers and mobile devices, because everything different excites me. I think about what I like and dislike about such things. I think about the course technology has taken since early PC days and what that implies about the future. I think often about possible negative aspects of what we’ve brought to the world. I try to develop totally independent ideas about a lot of things that are never heard in other places. That was my design style too. I admire good engineers and teachers greatly, even though they are not treated as royalty or paid a fraction of other professions. I try to be a very middle level person and to live my life around normal fun people. I do many things to affect that I don’t consider myself more important than anyone else. I had my lifetime philosophies down by around age 20 and I am thankful for them. I never needed something like Apple to be happy. Finally, I’m hosting the Silicon Valley Comic Con this weekend March 18 - 19th, so come check it out. You can buy tickets here. It was delightful to hear the questions and answer them, but I also enjoyed hearing all your little screen names. Some of those I wanted to comment on being very creative. I always like things that have a little bit of humor and fun and entertainment built into the productivity work of our lives. submitted by /u/TheSteveWozniak to r/IAmA [link] [comments]
