US begonia lovers- where are you buying begonias?
Wanting to expand my list of places I buy begonias from. Other than Steve’s leaves and in general Palmstreet, where are you guys buying your begonias from? I’m US based. Any Palmstreet sellers you love? Any Etsy sellers that you have good experience with? Any sites that have neat begonias? I’m looking for people that have a variety and more unique/unusual begonias. Scummy behavior from The Green Escape
2 weeks ago I ordered a pink alocasia bambino during a live. I was excited as it's really difficult to actually get sought after plants from TGE as they sell out in a millisecond but I was lucky! A couple days later I got a message that the plants "no longer met their standards for shipping, and they canceled my order. I asked to please wait until they got suitable plants instead because it was a stroke of luck that I was able to get one, they said they weren't going to have more anythime soon and proceed to cancel the order. Then they started doing auction format for some plants that same day that they contacted me (this is new for them), and I had a suspicion something was going on. Lo and behold, they have been auctioning off pink bambino tonight, 10 days after telling me the ones that had weren't good enough to ship out and they weren't getting more. How scummy. submitted by /u/sunbathingturtle207 to r/houseplants [link] [comments]

Staghorn shipped from HirtsGarden has rotting shield
Can it be saved? The plant is soaking wet, but the fronds look great. New growth. The shield, not so much. This is my second staghorn. I got the first from the grocery store last year. Not a pretty plant, but a stunning one! One of my favorite plants! (Don’t tell the 55 other houseplants). My Monstera deliciosa knows it’s my favorite, but some of the drama queen plants (maidenhair and Dieffenbachia, I’m looking at you!) might pout. submitted by /u/ArtAllDayLong to r/Staghornfern [link] [comments]

Hirt's Gardens
Has anyone used Hirt's Gardens for shipping plants? I ordered from them once in the fall, and they were amazing. Plant packaged extremely well. I wanted to use them again, and wanted to be sure it wasn't a fluke. submitted by /u/Aggravating_Photo169 to r/houseplants [link] [comments]

My bambino flf (Tree Fiddy) dropped almost ALL his leaves. It looks like the ones he dropped were ones with Edema, I got him from hirts gardens a month ago and I've only watered him twice since. Except for the bug prevention treatment I gave him. Is this normal? I know they're usually kinda picky
Also what's this lil crunchy thing in the middle, someone elses post asked about it also, but I still don't understand submitted by /u/AnubisTheLycan to r/fiddleleaffig [link] [comments]

I am very sorry. I just learned about poaching from this sub. I bought this from Hirts Garden somewhere about a year ago and finally sprouted. I don’t know what it is, and I want to give it the best care incase it was poached. What is it and do you believe it to be poached at this size from Hirts?

My ordeal with Hirt’s Gardens
So everything was first documented on this thread here Basically, I purchased a 5 inch chocolate aglaonema. When it came in the mail, this is what I got, versus what they advertised: https://imgur.com/a/4U7ZYe3 The two cuttings they shoved in there were completely unrooted and looked so pathetic compared to what they advertised. I contacted Hirt’s to see if I could switch out the plant or get a refund, and they refused to provide one. They said to “give the plant time” and that they only provide refunds for dead plants. I told them that that was unacceptable, and all they did was refund the $7 shipping charge. The best part about that is that since they refunded the shipping, I can no longer leave a review on their website since it now considers that refund as having never ordered that product. So, I’m here to sum up my experience and basically provide my review. Would highly recommend avoiding Hirt’s in the future. Thanks. submitted by /u/squel_ch to r/houseplants [link] [comments]

Online: Huge sale on Hirt’s Gardens website including String of Hearts 2.5” for $9.99
I know people have had mixed results getting plants from Hirt’s, but they currently have nearly all of their houseplants on sale. They are anywhere from 20% to over 50% off. The String of Hearts is normally $25.00, but is on sale for $9.99 (plus shipping). Hirt’s Gardens 2.5” String of Hearts With the sale, I also got a small Jade Pothos and 2 N’Joys for less than $40 (for all four plants and shipping). submitted by /u/crazybluegoose to r/plantwatch [link] [comments]

Went plant shopping today. Think I found some lovelies. Made a special trip to hirts gardens in Ohio. I know they get mixed reviews as far as shipping plants...but it was heaven walking through their greenhouses.

Experience with Hirt's Gardens?
If you've ever ordered from Hirt's Gardens, what was your experience like? I've seen a lot of mixed reviews. Personally, I've ordered from them twice (large and small plants, 3+ plants per order) and both times everything came in perfect condition and it was packaged really nicely. But I've seen some unboxings on youtube that were the total opposite. They ship from Ohio and I live in southwestern Pennsylvania only about 2 hours from Ohio, and what I've put together from what I've seen is that the further they travel, the worse the plants come. Opening this discussion because I placed another order last night for 6 plants 😂 submitted by /u/sjmihave3cats to r/houseplants [link] [comments]
