RE:Anyone ever think about using a ice bath water chiller for fish box?
A quick look at those looks like they are designed for about 40f, which is too warm. Refrigerated sea water (rsw) systems are common on commercial boats, target temps are closer to 32. Hard to implement an rsw system on an outboard powered boat. Need room for the equipment and generator. Most sub 30’ production boats just dont have the space.

Anyone have experience with the AKSport Ice Bath Tub?
Looking at dishing $300 for one. Don’t need a chiller as it will live up in the mountains. Does it suck? Does it rock? submitted by /u/Beautiful-Working598 to r/coldplunge [link] [comments]

Photos for Upgrading my stock tank ice bath into a cold plunge - any advice helps
I've been doing sauna and cold plunge for about 20 years. I guess we're calling it contrast therapy. I got this outdoor 4x6 Finlandia sauna in my zen garden and a stock tank ice bath built on top of my redwood meditation deck. I want to upgrade to a proper cold bath with a 1/2 or 1 hp chiller (probably leaning towards active aqua) and UV filter and Ozone filter as well as some type of hair and dirt filter so I can keep the water cleaner for longer without draining all the time. I'd love to keep it clean and running all the time with minimal chlorine and make it as professional as possible. I was thinking of going go a local pool and spa store nearby somewhere here in San Diego and get equipment if necessary. So my idea is to upgrade from approx 100 gallons in my current stock tank to 150 gallons from this clean water tank | already own. I was gonna cut it down to that level. I also already own some nice pumps but I know nothing else about building a cold bath. Any advice would be great. Thanks All! is cold plunging here to stay? looking for the best ice bath for 2026
with all the hype around cold therapy, i'm finally ready to take the plunge (pun intended). i want to get a dedicated setup for my garage or backyard, not just a modified chest freezer. i've been researching, but it feels like the market is exploding with new brands and features. i searched for the best ice bath 2026 to try and see where the tech is headed, but it's mostly reviews of current plastic tubs and expensive chillers. what should i be looking for in a future-proof setup? are there advancements in filtration, more efficient cooling, or better insulation on the horizon for 2026? i'm also curious about smart features – like app-controlled temperature scheduling – are those becoming standard, or are they just a gimmick? for those who've used different setups, what are the pain points with current products that you hope get solved in the next generation? is it the cleanup, the cost of running a chiller, or the sheer amount of ice needed? trying to decide if i should invest in a solid system now or wait a year to see how the market matures. submitted by /u/Blanche_Bhatty99 to r/selfreliance [link] [comments]

We built a fully transparent ice bath chiller so users can see everything inside — would this be a pro or a deal breaker for you?
Hey r/coldplunge 👋 I’m part of the team at a factory (QuanGuan) that makes chillers. We’ve been experimenting with something a bit different and wanted to get real user opinions. Instead of hiding everything inside a metal box, we built an ice bath chiller with a fully transparent enclosure, so you can actually see the compressor, copper lines, filtration, and water flow while it’s running. Some people on our team love it for the “no black box” feeling and easier visual checks. Others think it might be overkill or even a downside. So I’m curious what you think: Would this be a cool feature or an instant no for you? Does seeing the internals make you trust it more — or worry more? Could you imagine this at home, or only in a gym / lab-type space? Genuinely looking for feedback. submitted by /u/Left_Cold_3289 to r/coldplunge [link] [comments]

Electrical questions/setup for Sauna/Ice Baths
Hey all I figured I would post this here for some feedback. Looking at getting a barrel sauna (6-8) people capacity and 2 ice bath with chillers but may get another sauna in the future. This is the electrical box (it currently powers flood lights at a stadium). Just wondering what I may need to actually connect this. I'm going to have an electrician take a look as well but any advice would be helpful. https://preview.redd.it/dhb1fokeyu9g1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=bbd5158241a18179e9f4305534b0de50c1b9ecbb submitted by /u/Tkfit09 to r/Sauna [link] [comments]

Thinking of upgrading from ice‑cubes to a water chiller — any good budget options under $1000?
I’ve been doing cold water baths using ice cubes for a while — honestly it’s a pain buying and storing ice all the time, and the consistency isn’t great. I’m now seriously considering buying a water chiller so I no longer have to rely on ice. My ideal setup: Water temperature as low as ~45 °F (or colder) Total cost under $1000 USD Preferably compact enough for a home/garage setup Before I decide, I’d love to hear from people already using chillers: How cold can you realistically get the water? (My goal is ~45 °F or lower.) How long does it take to cool down a full bathtub/tub with water? Any maintenance issues, noise, or water‑quality filters I should be aware of? Do chillers like these actually save time/money compared to constantly buying ice? Thanks in advance — I’m hoping to upgrade soon and appreciate any honest feedback or recommendations! submitted by /u/Feisty-Essay893 to r/coldplunge [link] [comments]

Buying an ice bath (Scotland)
My bf has expressed a desire to start cold plunges. We both currently cold water swim weekly here in Scotland, but he's looking to plunge at home after strength training and running. I was looking at the Polar and Lumi ice baths, and was wondering if anyone had experience of those? Also, do you think it would be possible to use without a chiller for the time being and add that later? (asking due to cost reasons and the fact that it's cold enough here without a chiller in winter!) Thanking you kindly submitted by /u/twattyprincess to r/wimhof [link] [comments]

What chiller does the Brass Monkey’s The Pro Ice Bath use?
I’m hoping someone here might be able to help. Does anyone know which chiller unit is used in the Brass Monkey The Pro ice bath? I’ve checked their website but couldn’t find any technical details about the chiller model itself. If you own one, have tested one, or know anything about the system they use, I’d really appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance! ❄️🙏 submitted by /u/AmbaFR238ayy6 to r/coldplunge [link] [comments]

How have ice baths helped with your hypermobility, and how often do you do them?
I’ve been dealing with hypermobility for a while now, and it can really mess with my joints and muscles, especially after workouts or long days. I’ve heard a lot about ice baths helping with recovery, so I decided to give them a shot. I actually bought an ice bath setup from Nordik Recovery, and it’s been pretty solid so far. The thing is, it inflates in about 5 minutes and can hold up really well – it’s made of military-grade PVC, so it’s super durable. It also comes with a high-pressure pump for easy setup, and it has a two-year warranty, which is nice. The cold plunge is definitely a shock at first, but it’s been really helpful for my recovery. I try to do it after tough workouts or on days when I’m feeling extra stiff. I also got their chiller system, which helps keep the water really cold for the full experience. The chiller is easy to use and cools the water down to 3°C, which feels intense, but honestly, I feel so much better after I get out. Does anyone else with hypermobility do ice baths regularly? How often do you dive in? Does it actually help with joint pain and all that stiffness we deal with? Also, any tricks for getting through the first few minutes when it feels like you're freezing your bones off? submitted by /u/FeelingGlad8646 to r/flexibility [link] [comments]

Water circulation for ice bath
Any one know of a floating water circulator that would help keep the water in an ice bath cleaner longer? No chiller or pipes or any kind. Just know moving water stays clean longer. Something like the floating pond fountains but on a smaller scale (without the fountain). Thanks! submitted by /u/teachgolf to r/coldplunge [link] [comments]

Vital Ice Bath Ultra x2
Finally took the chance on an ice bath, I’m located in Australia and just moved into a new place. I always wanted an ice bath and spent a few weeks researching Vital+, Primal Ice, Recovry Zone etc. Didn’t find a bunch of great reviews on either and also didn’t wanna spend thousands so I decided to go with the new Artic White Ice bath with the ultra x2 chiller. Had it for a week so far and can honestly say I absolutely love it. Fingers crossed it will last for some time as it cost about $1800 AUD. Anyone else have any good feedback about Vital+? submitted by /u/Jamie236 to r/coldplunge [link] [comments]

any idea what this yellow slimy stuff is in my ice bath?
this stuff comes out of my water inlet hose every time I fill it back up after cleaning the tub. It's got to be something from within the chiller (myo-master), potentially along the pipe walls or something... I've tried flushing the filter out in the past with fresh water and an open ended outlet pipe to see if it will get it all out, but seems to come back the following week when I clean the tub. I use it 4-5 times per week after a sauna, don't use any chemicals in it, and empty and clean by hand once a week. Thinking I need one of those ozone stones, but anyone got any suggestions for what it could be? originally thought it was dead skin before I first sieved it out haha submitted by /u/HarryEFC95 to r/BecomingTheIceman [link] [comments]

Chiller recommendation
I have an inflatable cold plunge that the temperature at night was keeping high 40s to low 50s. I’ve been adding 80-90lbs of ice once a week for the last couple weeks, and just letting the temp rise from 38-56 ish and then adding ice. I live in Northern California and my plunge is in my backyard. As the temperatures at night are rising I am looking for a chiller that would work well. There are hundreds out there but I’m sure there are a few that are better than others. I know in the summer I will not be able to maintain low 40 temps but I’m tired of adding ice. I do not want to spend more than $600. Thanks in advance for responses submitted by /u/Reyes703189 to r/coldplunge [link] [comments]

Ice bath for recovery
You guys might have seen my other post of my gym. Thought I would update you guys now that I've finished up the ice bath "room" The wood panel "wall" opens up into this room. The walls are lined with aromatic cedar and my chiller doubles as a water heater, so I can convert it into a hot tub if I wanted to. As you can see, the room doubles as my wood storage room... 😅 submitted by /u/Fragrant-Carpenter53 to r/homegym [link] [comments]

Any gyms or spas with a cold plunge or ice bath?
I'm trying to get into a routine of cold exposure in the morning as a personal challenge but don't have the resources to drop $500 on a home chiller. There's lots of gyms with saunas and hot rooms, but are there any with ice baths? Theres a couple of cryo therapy spots but they all charge per-plunge and its so expensive it would be insane to do it daily. submitted by /u/IDontReadToS to r/bullcity [link] [comments]
