Black vs White keyboard aesthetic for ipad
I'm deciding between getting a portable black and mouse keyboard set or a white one for my ipad. The ipad is in space gray and the case is black. I'm torn between the two as they both look good. Black seems to be lowkey and matches my case while the white seems sleek and matches the apple vibe. What are your thoughts? Aesthetic iPad case recommendations please
Hey there! I’m looking for a Y-fold / multi-angle iPad case for the iPad Air 11-inch (M3, 2025) and wanted some recommendations. I’m specifically looking for something: - cute / aesthetic (not bulky or rugged) - good for note-taking (stable incline angle) - decent quality (won’t fall apart in a few months) If you’ve used something like this, please share: - the case name + link - your experience (especially for writing / daily use) - any downsides I should know Also open to underrated brands apart from ESR/Spigen/Apple! submitted by /u/sunflower-x to r/InstagramShops [link] [comments]

Malazan Art by Artist Jason Dement
Hello fellow Malazan fans! It's been awhile since I've shared my art here and I thought it would be a great idea to post all of them in one thread since the limit on images is 20 and I have exactly 20 full color Malazan paintings (I've done some pencil as well) [EDIT: had to repost this because my Masan Gilani painting was removed by Reddits filters so now the post includes a pencil drawing of Kalam instead). I started my Malazan art journey last year as a sort of resolution to make more time for myself to paint what I want to paint and to work on improving my craft. Around about my 7th painting (Trull), I decided to push myself even further and conduct as extensive research as I could about each character before I even attempted to paint them. I did research for the previous ones as well but I would say while true to the characters, they were a little more lenient (IE: Rhulad would have more coins on his body|placed closer together. That was a choice I made for art aesthetics. Lostara should have had some tattoos on her face as well, Icarium's hair should have been in a braid). This art journey has been the most rewarding, painting characters and scenes from my favorite book series of all time, and it has helped me grow as an artist. I'm not done yet of course, but the next painting may be a little while since I'm working on some Fantasy book covers, and sketch cards at the moment. I paint my art in Procreate on my iPad and I do this to share my love of Malazan with fellow fans. As such, I give my permission to use my art (with credit) to the Malazan Wiki, r/Malazan, or any creators making YouTube, TikTok, other content that shows Malazan in a favorable light. If you want to support my art, feel free to give me a follow on social "@artistjasondement" on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/artistjasondement/), [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/artistjasondement/), and [Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/@ArtistJasonDement). I do have Timelapse videos of me painting my Malazan art. I sell prints, bookmarks, and trading cards on my website at [www.artistjasondement.com](http://www.artistjasondement.com) We need more Malazan art! If you're an artist or a doodler, I encourage you to create and share it! submitted by /u/Automatic-Being-6176 to r/Malazan [link] [comments]

Really tried
man i really got excited to make the big switch over from iphone but there’s just so many little things that bother me. I love the device, the feeling the aesthetics, the bigger screen on the inside basically made my ipad mini irrelevant for Garmin Pilot. I open it and i am genuinely awe struck by the inner screen. However, cameras are genuinely such a disappointment, the screen is just so slightly off coloured from the iPhones especially in media centred apps. thankfully got imessage to work through open bubble. Any tid bits of help? I have been an apple loyalist basically all my life and might just wait for the rumoured ultra model this fall. submitted by /u/DevLikeMikhail to r/pixel_phones [link] [comments]

I had the pleasure of creating the artwork for the Stranger Things finale ✏️
I've been really excited to share this one. I've had to keep this project under wraps for some time now, so I'm so thrilled to finally get it out there! I've been watching Stranger Things since it first started in 2016. One of my first ever pieces of poster fan art was for the show, so it sincerely is a surreal full circle moment to have illustrated the very last shot of final season, and have my artwork close out the show's final credits sequence. The concept was to paint something that felt akin to classic D&D books of the era, and we sought to be as faithful as possible whilst remaining true to the spirit and aesthetic of the show. We looked at a ton of old D&D books and paintings for reference. I've been really enjoying seeing all of the theories sparked by this artwork! Alongside this final shot, I also had a hand in illustrating some of the other shots you see throughout the beautiful credits sequence, which I'm going to be sharing a little more about on my socials. It was a real treat to work on these alongside some industry peers that I've admired for many years, including Matt Taylor and Ken Taylor. Seriously so many talented people worked on this and it's great seeing it all on screen. I hope you all like it! - Hand painted digital illustration, made with Procreate on iPad Pro. submitted by /u/samgreenartist to r/StrangerThings [link] [comments]

Jumped off the Tesla train 🚆➡️ Joined the Rivian R1S club (former Tesla fanboy)
Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. Figured I’d share my story for anyone else coming from Tesla and debating the jump. I’m a Tesla fanboy, no shame in admitting it. I’ve been driving a Model 3 for years and absolutely loved it. Tesla software is still top-tier in my opinion, clean, intuitive, and just works. But once you throw two kids into the mix… reality hits. Car seats, strollers, bags, sports gear, random kid chaos, the Model 3 started feeling very compact. It worked, but it wasn’t comfortable anymore. So I started shopping for something bigger, ideally a truck or SUV. I test drove every EV I could, and honestly, most of them were a letdown. Overcrowded GUIs, weird layouts, clunky software, if you’re used to Tesla’s UI, a lot of other EVs feel like a downgrade. It was like trading an iPad for a Temu tablet — same rectangle, completely different life choices. The GUI and graphics were rough. Then I drove the Rivian R1S. It was the only vehicle that felt even remotely comparable to Tesla from a software perspective. It’s clean, functional, and not trying too hard. That alone put it at the top of my list. Still, I was skeptical. Rivian is a new company, and with my background in R&D, I’m very aware of what comes with new products: quirks, bugs, and growing pains. I really didn’t want to feel like a guinea pig. I actually ordered a Cybertruck and was close to taking delivery, but I cancelled it. Between Elon’s constant shenanigans and the way his behavior is now tied directly to the Tesla brand, it became an easy decision. I just didn’t want any part of that anymore. That’s when I decided to give Rivian a real shot. I’ll admit, I was nervous after hearing all the negative chatter, especially around service. But I made a conscious decision to ignore complaints tied to process and scaling issues. Rivian is young, demand is high, and those challenges don’t scare me. One more big factor for me: If I’m spending over $100K on a vehicle, it better feel like it. Miss me with the ultra-minimalist aesthetic and plastic-everywhere interiors. I want something that actually feels premium. The R1S interior, materials, and seat design hit that sweet spot perfectly—luxury without being flashy, rugged without feeling cheap. It just feels right. So here I am—officially off the Tesla train and all in on the R1S. Excited to learn from the community, put miles on it, and see how Rivian continues to grow. Glad to finally be part of the club 🤘 submitted by /u/Quick_Ideal_8510 to r/Rivian [link] [comments]

Indefinite Backpack Travel - Year 11 Update!
Not sure how many onebaggers reach their second decade! For better or for worse, nothing has really changed since my post last year, since I have achieved “onebag perfection.” Still, I'll keep up the tradition of posting here annually I still live out of the 9 liter Aer bag I've had since 2021 (Aer actually updated their website to say it's 8.5L), and still only own what fits in the bag (plus a few outfit duplicates at my NYC homebase so I don’t need to do laundry as often). More than half of the items I carry have been with me for so long that they're no longer sold/impossible to restock Probably more interesting: I just updated the “onebag progression” Google Sheet I shared here a few years back, which tracks everything I’ve owned since 2015. Have any other onebaggers shared lists like this? I was hoping this format would become a thing! It's such a cool way to track the process! 2025 changes: My Sandisk SSD got corrupted. I’ve since learned that every travel SSD has this issue. I repeat, every travel SSD has corruption issues! Plan for it! Anyways, I decided if I’m gonna have to deal with the risk of corruption I may as well switch to tiny Samsung USB-C thumb drives that disappear in my pockets. Haven't had any issues with them so far! I got rid of my iPad, since it stopped being a device for art and creativity and became a device for movies and games. I will eventually add it back when the time is right As of this past winter I’ve been trying out a canvas jacket, which could never in a million years fit inside my bag but can be worn while on the move. Stacked on top of my down jacket + hoodie + shirt it gives me maximum cold protection and also has pockets to enable zero-bag travel I added a baseball cap. Purely an aesthetic choice I didn’t even make a new knoll photo, since you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Just pretend the iPad and SSD were replaced by a jacket and hat. And that's literally all the changes since last year! Consumerism hates me Full post on my website as always, but fair warning it's 95% the same as last year :) I’m also currently editing a video going over my onebag that I’ll share to Instagram (@jeremymaluf) later this week Safe travels! ✌️ submitted by /u/jeremymaluf to r/onebag [link] [comments]

What would you think of a titanium iPad M5 Pro with iPhone Air aesthetics?
I've been imagining what the next iPad Pro could look like, and I keep coming back to this concept: What if Apple made an iPad M5 Pro with a titanium build and the sleek design language of the iPhone Air? My thoughts: - The clean, minimal lines of the iPhone Air would translate beautifully to a larger form factor - Titanium construction would make it incredibly premium while keeping it relatively lightweight - The M5 chip would obviously be a powerhouse for creative work Questions for the community: - Do you think Apple would ever go this route with iPad design? - Would the premium pricing be worth it for titanium construction? - How important is design consistency across Apple's product lines to you? This is just my imagination running wild, but I think it would look absolutely stunning! What are your thoughts? Would you buy it? submitted by /u/oKaY_EnGiNeEr to r/apple [link] [comments]

Fold 7 feels amazing in-hand, but there’s something concerning…
Just checked out the Z Fold 7 in person today. I’m currently using the Z Fold SE, and I gotta say that 1.7mm difference in thickness? Way more noticeable than I expected. It actually made me start thinking seriously about upgrading. But… there was one thing that kinda worried me. On the demo unit, the outer corners on the opening side didn’t fully close. When folded, the very ends didn’t line up flush. It looked like they were slightly bent or warped. I couldn’t tell if it was a manufacturing defect or maybe just damage from people constantly opening and closing it throughout the day. Still, it got me thinking... is this gonna be another bendgate? Like with the iPhone 6 or those iPad Pros? The thinner design is super impressive, no doubt, but if we’re sacrificing durability for aesthetics, that’s a real concern. submitted by /u/kyunghoonyoo to r/GalaxyFold [link] [comments]

I’m an iPad owner—yes, one of those—who thought it would change my life forever.
Last year, I bought an iPad Air thinking it was the missing piece in my productivity puzzle. I had a project going on and somehow convinced myself, “This is it. This is what I need. It’s sleek, it’s portable—it’ll revolutionize the way I work!” Spoiler alert: It didn’t. Turns out, my laptop was way more convenient for work stuff. The iPad? It just sat there looking pretty. I thought, “Okay, no worries—I love to scribble, maybe I’ll go digital.” Bought Goodnotes. Doodled a bit. Got excited. Then, well… the excitement fizzled out faster than my motivation on a Monday morning. Next idea? Reading! “This is it,” I thought again, “My reading era begins now.” But nope. My iPad’s screen saw more memes than book pages. (And yes, the return window had already slammed shut by this point.) Still determined, I dove deep into YouTube to unlock the “hidden potential” of my iPad. Watched a ton of videos—only to realize most were aesthetic “iPad productivity” montages and digital planner promotions. Tried that route too. Didn’t stick. So now, here I am. Proud owner of a very expensive social media and Netflix machine. Fellow Redditors—do you have any creative, weird, or actually useful ways to use an iPad? Please save me from turning this thing into an overpriced coaster. submitted by /u/Hot_Appointment_2220 to r/ipad [link] [comments]

I downgraded from a 2017 MacBook Pro to a 2015 MacBook Pro and my productivity soared.
A bit of backstory: For the longest time, I used my old 2012 MacBook Pro, even though the battery died very quickly, it was bulky compared to the newer MacBooks, and had started to slow down quite significantly. Even so, I was able to be really productive using it, specifically when it came to writing... I could type for hours on my old 2012 MacBook Pro and not get tired. I loved using it, loved typing on it, loved working on it, would bring it with me everywhere. Finally, I decided to upgrade and switched to a top-of-the-line 2017 MacBook Pro 13" with TouchBar. It was sexy, it was thin, the keyboard wasn't as comfortable to type on, but hey, it made a nice 'clack' sound when you pressed the keys. Over the next few months, though, I realized my productivity had been significantly falling. I had stopped writing for pleasure, and would only type when I absolutely had to. I used my MacBook more like an iPad — browsing, clicking, scrolling. I 'liked' my new MacBook, but I didn't love it like my old 2012 MacBook. I suspected the keyboard was holding me back, but I didn't realize how bad it really was. After all, I was using the second-generation butterfly keyboard. Wasn't it supposed to be better than the first one? Then I read a post by /u/7506blasting: The [butterfly] keyboard is objectively bad. We've had decades of research into ergonomics, we know what works. The mac pro keyboard puts all the shock of a key impact, and more strain on your fingers than any other keyboard I've used. It's only marginally better than typing on a tablet. No travel means no cushioning. It's like punching a wall instead of a bag. Of course we get used to it (we can get used to anything, even typing on phones - doesn't mean it isn't hugely inferior) but all the strain is now on your finger. You have to press lightly - but try doing that when you're in the flow, tired at the end of the day, when you've already put out thousands of words and just want to be done. I'm genuinely concerned a year or two of using this keyboard would bring me very close to RSI, arthritis, or any other joint issues in my hands. And that was it. I finally saw how bad the keyboard was (for me). I couldn't go back to my 2012 MacBook Pro (it really was slow at this point), so I went on eBay and found a top-of-the-line MacBook Pro 2015... the last MacBook with a comfortable, usable, meant-for-writing keyboard. Holy shit. The difference stunned me. The 'old' keyboard was so much better than the 'butterfly keyboard' that I had to put up with for months. I didn't have to hammer away at the keys. My fingers danced across the keyboard and the familiar 'mushy' keys responded quickly and easily. It was an absolute joy. All the love I felt for the Mac came back. This was a real laptop. This was a real machine that I could use for work, that was designed to be typed on. And on top of that, the little things. Having dedicated volume buttons on the top row. Dedicated pause/play button. And USB-A ports. Wow. Being able to use any old cable or external drive, without thinking of finding an adapter? It was pure luxury. I am never giving up this laptop. I'm even thinking of buying another one and just keeping it in my closet for the eventual day that this one might die. I don't see Apple going back to the old, comfortable, fantastic keyboards, like the one on the 2015 model. They're too obsessed with thinness and too proud to reverse a decision like that. (And some people do seem to like the butterfly keyboard, which makes the whole situation even more muddled). Which basically means that... the 2015 MacBook Pro is the last MacBook I'll ever truly love. If we're gonna keep using the butterfly keyboard in the 2018, 2019, 2020 MacBooks, there's no way that I can go back to that hell. (And it is hell, for me, when your work depends on you typing and you're given a sub-par keyboard.) I don't know at what point Apple shifted from aesthetics/usability balance to just the aesthetics, but I find it extremely sad. I love the Mac, I love macOS, I want to keep using the platform. For now, I still can. But I don't know what I'm gonna do five or ten years from now. If you're using one of the 2016 or 2017 MacBooks and you find your productivity falling or you're not writing as much as you used to, I urge you to look into switching back to an older Mac or at least a different external keyboard. The difference for me was night and day. submitted by /u/frizzyfox to r/apple [link] [comments]
