A self-built spec house, described as "a castle; a cathedral; a temple; an affirmation of the American dream and the fertile potential of the Jeffersonian Hinterlands". Let's take a look...
It "looks" small but it isn't, however the architecture is a little funky. There is a room on the top floor dedicated just to the bathtub. Kinda like it but Not sure what that stuff in picture #13 is. The front facing kitchen island looks unfinished. Rooms are in several levels with a step, probably pretty challenging for a toddler. Especially the one, from a kiddo's playroom to the office looks pretty dangerous, on #36. What were they thinking!? The"open face" steps (#38) looks like a bad idea. Small kitchen: island feels visually disconnected + idea for sliding door - looking for suggestions
I need additional storage in my small kitchen (mainly drawers), so I planned a small kitchen island with drawers. However, it feels visually disconnected from the rest of the kitchen. I can’t extend the countertop to connect it, because I want to keep the dishwasher next to the sink. Also, the kitchen is visible directly from the entrance door. I was thinking about adding some kind of sliding door in the wall color, just to create a visual barrier and help contain cooking smells. Does anyone have a better idea for: - making the island feel more integrated and/or - adding a subtle divider near the entrance? Did I make a mistake?
Looking for honest but kind feedback. I was dead-set on blue tile for our kitchen and my husband did a great job installing it, but even though I loved the sample I’m unsure about the finished look. I was aiming for French farmhouse (we’re farmers) but I’m afraid I missed the mark. I’m looking for advice on how to style this in a way that distracts a bit from the tile. To be fair, the tile photographs even bluer than it looks in person. Photo 8 seems to be the best representation of the actual color. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! ***EDIT*** Thank you all so much for the feedback! I wish I could keep up with responding to all of you! So many helpful ideas! I’m currently searching for pedant lighting, painting or replacing the existing island seating, changing the beige paint, and adding a few things above the sink window as well as finding other items for the countertops to make the kitchen feel more lived in. Also, for those of you worried about our dog, she’s a BMD and she loves the outdoors! She’s very loved, I promise! If anything, I should be outside with her haha! Thank you again! ☺️ submitted by /u/milkmaid0435 to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

My roommate of one month wanted me to do therapy with him as a condition for inviting friends over to the apartment
TLDR: met someone who i thought was a good match but ended up not being a match in the most alarming way. He wanted me to do therapy with him, and would say and do the most bizarre things. Sharing this in celebration of him finally moving out. A couple months ago I sublet the spare room in my NYC apt to someone (34,M) I met on Reddit. i have lived in the apartment for 5 years now. Problems started almost immediately after he moved in. One of the main issues was that he arrived with a significant amount of shared-space items that he had never mentioned before. Not only did they not fit in the apartment, but he also began rearranging things and moving my items and furniture without asking... He started directing where things in the apartment should go and placing decorative objects in areas of practical spaces. The breaking point for me was when he placed a tray of several large vintage crystal decanters and wine glasses directly on the center of the small kitchen island as decoration (this is in NYC and the island is where I cook). The decanters were large, fragile, and took up most of the space. I told him that while they were beautiful, they couldn’t stay there because i need the counter space. I also hated the idea of the apartment being alcohol-centric to put it on display on the kitchen island. This upset him quite a lot and led to a series of increasingly intense conversations about fairness, "gracefulness", communication and our relationship as roommates. During one of these discussions he asked if I would be willing to go to therapy with him. At this point he had lived in the apartment for barely a month. To say I was shocked, shooketh and gagged would be an understatement of last year, but I kept a poker face and said I was open to the idea if it helped resolve tensions, mostly hoping he wouldn’t actually bring it up again. 15 minutes later he returned back to the topic of therapy and asked me a follow-up question; he asked me if I had agreed to therapy only because he had suggested it, or whether I would have independently thought of therapy myself. In other words, I think he knew how crazy the idea of therapy sounded and wanted me to validate him furthermore after I had said that I am open to the idea of therapy. This probing made me come to the slow and scary realization about him. He is a person of extreme intensity who constantly analyzes, calculates, questions, and interrogates every interaction. He would ask me similar questions to measure my intentions and morals, but frame them as "just trying to understand what you meant/ understand you better, why would you think the worst of me??". I would always feel probed and examined under a microscope as you can see above. It was exhausting. This was also a source of our tensions as I look back on it. After that discussion we spent the next two weeks mostly quiet, civil but not socializing. Then Halloween weekend came around and a friend asked if they could come over to stay with me. She has visited me every year before him in the apartment. I checked with my roommate first to make sure he was okay with it out of courtesy despite the clear guest policies. This prompted the response in the screenshot. I even compromised to him in return by telling him that she will exclusively stay in my bedroom which has its own bathroom, so that he won’t be bothered by her presence. I planned to bring her water and food from the kitchen if needed be. He still found a problem with it, claiming that I have control issues and that there was no point in asking him anything if I was going to do whatever I wanted to do in the apartment. The crazy thing is that I gave in and did the therapy with him, and regretfully regretted it. He exploded into bursts of rants in therapy and the therapist did little to no help claiming « nobody is right or wrong » . I distanced myself as far away as possible from him after, worried he would lash out to me. Some of the other bizarre/outrageous things he did: - He posted on part of his reddit apartment search that he prefers not to live with people who are on psychiatric meds. He also asked me if I was on psych meds when we met the first time and explained that he does not prefer to live with someone taking psych meds. It seemed like he had a bad experience. I agreed with him, saying that while I respect people who take psych meds, I would prefer not to live with them if possible but that it's not something I actively screen for. A month into his move in, I found prescription bottles of Escitalopram and other anxiety meds in his name lying around. - While we were hanging out shortly after he moved, I once told him in passing "... blah blah since I tend to be an introvert". He told me he actually didn’t appreciate that I hadn’t disclosed that I am an introvert when we met, and said that if he had known I was an introvert he might have made different choices about moving in. When I asked what he meant by that, he said : Him: "Well, I am a 100% extrovert, and I didn't want us to be passing ships in the night, and expected this to be... sort of a Golden Girls situation where we are close together." Me: "... Well, I am sorry if you feel that my introversion is something I should have announced to you, but that does not mean I won't spend time with you at all but rather that I do need some time alone from time to time with myself to recover and reflect. So if you would like to spend time and hang out with me like we are now, just tell me or ask and I can let you know if I am free". I kid you not, he said : "Well...... I am not sure if I like that, because I don't like to put myself in a position where I am being told yes or no" Me: "😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 ....... So if you have a work obligation or any other obligation, and if I ask you to drop whatever you are obligated to and hang out with me non-stop 24/7, are you saying that you will do it? Is that what you are also expecting me to do? While he did not answer me yes, he also did not answer me no and had to think about the answer before diverting to another topic!!! I never really truly understood his nature as I had to distance myself from him, so please let me know if I missed something clearly obvious from him. Anyway, he finally moved out. Here’s to hoping I won’t have to do therapy with the next one!! Stay safe out there! submitted by /u/nightshade_45 to r/badroommates [link] [comments]

Help - Just bought a home – looking for kitchen layout advice (fridge placement, cabinets, island rotation?)
Hi all. We just purchased this home and are trying to figure out how to improve the kitchen layout without doing a complete gut remodel. Overall we like the look (the white trim + lighter floors are the current finishes. Note the darker trim photos are just to show additional angles of the kitchen). Functionally, it feels a bit small and awkward. Main issues: The fridge is placed in a way that makes the corner cabinet really hard to access. The double doors are currently the only pantry storage. Counter space is decent, but the layout feels inefficient. No integrated microwave or trash can. We’d love to add more cabinet storage if possible. We’re wondering: Should we move the sink under the window on the right? Ideally, we’d like to keep as many of the existing cabinets as possible. We’re considering turning the fridge/pantry wall into a full cabinet wall. However, there doesn’t seem to be enough space with the island in its current orientation. Would rotating the island 90 degrees make better use of the space? Or would that make traffic flow worse? We don’t want this to turn into a full-scale remodel, but we understand some reworking will be necessary. Would love layout suggestions, especially from anyone who has dealt with awkward fridge placement or limited pantry space. Open to creative ideas that maximize storage without completely redoing everything. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/djhatrick12 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Small kitchen with an island
So I’m getting ready to start planning our kitchen remodel. A few owners ago the kitchen was “upgraded” and they added an island in our small kitchen. Kitchen is about 10’8” x 11’ 6” with a dining room of one side and opened to the living room. The island sits right on the divide from kitchen to living room and even has carpet going around a portion of of it. I’d like to turn the island into a peninsula kitchen, but that means giving up my tall pantry. I’ve seen a few pictures of a tall cabinet put on the corner of a peninsula kitchen and was wondering if that would work well because it’s over a longer countertop or would it make an awkward cabinet to get into. Any recommendations or ideas would be great! I’ve attached a few pictures I’ve pulled from the internet trying to explain the idea/trouble spot. submitted by /u/Mismatched_8586naan to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

We have a kitchen island!!
My husband and I saved up and bought a kitchen island on Amazon along with a set of bar stools for it. It was $350 CAD total for everything and it feels like a major purchase for us. Growing up, the height of luxury for me was a kitchen island. The idea of one with a built in sink was extra luxurious. My very wealthy friends in both elementary and high school had islands including a sink. Since childhood I’ve always said that I’ll know I made it in life because I have a kitchen island. Now I have my own! It doesn’t have marble counters or a built in sink but I don’t care because it’s mine. I didn’t get to properly use it because the chairs didn’t arrive until today and we put them together within 45ish mins. I did put dishes in it but that was it. When I finally got to sit down at it and just experience that, I burst into tears because I felt so accomplished. I ate dinner on it tonight and that started another round of waterworks because it felt like a reality. I know that for a lot of people, even on this subreddit, a $350 island and chair purchase may not seem large, but for me it is the realization of a childhood dream. It also has outlets, which is very exciting! submitted by /u/MoonAndStarsTarot to r/povertyfinance [link] [comments]

Has anyone figured out how to NOT immediately create a pile on every flat surface?
Counters. Chairs. Desks. That one spot on the stairs. ✨ Pile ✨ I’m trying to move away from anxiety-based motivation in my house, so I’m looking for gentler, weirder, more whimsical solutions. How would you utilize this kitchen island rack?
We just got this (used) ikea kitchen island with an overhead rack. How would you make use of it? I think it looks a bit out of place as is. I’m currently on the fence about removing the rack part, but I feel like there should be some good use for it. It came with hooks, but hanging pans extend fairly far down and make sitting at the island feel cramped. I think wrapping something around the vertical rods could look nice, but fake vines feel cheap. I just tossed some wine bottles on top for the time being, but I feel like there may be better uses for this whole rack unit. I’d love to hear any ideas submitted by /u/Shamilamadingdong to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Ideas to update this kitchen? Looking for a cozy, “modern traditional” vibe
Here is a photo of my kitchen, the blue is way too bright and I’d like to for something more cozy, English cottage/Victorian to go with the rest of the house. We have a New England farmhouse from the 1800s. The layout needs to stay the same to make this more budget friendly. My thoughts originally were to paint the kitchen a creamy white, and paint the upper cabinets a similar creamy white, and stain the bottom cabinets and island a darker wood color. Unsure if I’d be able to do that successfully. Any thoughts and tips would be appreciated! submitted by /u/Impossible_Sport_445 to r/interiordesignideas [link] [comments]

How can I DIY my kitchen island?/general advice?
I moved in to this house recently and have been slowing changing things to be more my style. This kitchen island that came with the house is pretty banged up and has old burn marks on it, so I want to spruce it up and also make it look better with the rest of the kitchen decor I have going on right now. I’m sort of at a loss for ideas though. I really want it to look darker since I have a lot of other wood tones in the kitchen and I don’t like the white cabinet look as much as I like cabin style/woodsy decor. I also think I want to paint the walls at some point to be a darker color but not sure yet. Can anyone think of ways to DIY the island that would look good with the rest of the kitchen? Or any other tweaks I should do to make it look more cohesive all together? I do think I’ll do new backsplash on the walls at some point, doing expensive changes for the kitchen are just not really a priority right now so I’m hoping that by painting the island or doing other low budget tweaks I can make it look better. submitted by /u/ageofbronze to r/cottagecore [link] [comments]

Ideas for updating the kitchen and dining room
I'm really debating about keeping the original cabinets and painting/retaining them as they are great quality wood, as compared to refacing them. However that might be very costly, especially when the other side of the kitchen faces a whole set of other cabinets with the same look and feel. Some preferences: - make it feel more modern! - moving the security monitor to the top of the fridge, or somewhere thats easily visible - white counter tops to brighten up the space - we like a natural oak wood color in general - move the 2 seats near the island to the middle facing the microwave area Thank you kindly!! submitted by /u/coffeenbagels20 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Let me understand why there is so much hate for the stove and sink on the kitchen island
I guess it's due to a different experience in using the island. Well, in my country, kitchens don't traditionally have an island. Traditionally, the dining table is in the center of the kitchen. Installing islands is a fairly recent trend and is seen as a luxury option. Lately, modern luxury design kitchens here feature a sink and hob (induction hob, usually with a bottom extractor hood built into the hob) on a large island and one or two kitchen "walls." So the idea is to use the island for all kitchen tasks, without having to face the wall, especially when facing the living area in a large open space. I like this idea, but from the comments from the US, it seems like a terrible thing. Why? Having never had an island, what am I missing? One of the main criticisms I see is that it's annoying for people sitting on the island, do people actually sit around the island? In my idea, the island is just for cooking, people sit around the dining table. EDIT: Thanks everyone for your input! So, from what I gather: Team A uses the island as a large kitchen table which has bonus storage space. On the island you not only prepare food, but you can serve it, you can eat it (breakfast seems to be a preference for many) and carry out non-cooking-related activities, such as doing homework. So, on your island-table you don’t want to have a stovetop and big sink that take up space and can dirty the countertop. Perhaps a secondary sink on the side would be nice. Team B uses the island for cooking, just as a galley kitchen that’s missing a wall. Having the stovetop and sink on the island allows you to spend time looking at other people and not at a wall (this is especially nice in an open space). If you want to opt for this solution you need to have a rather large island, install an induction hob and invest in an expensive downdraft vent (the telescopic ones seem nice to me) knowing that it will never be as efficient as an overhead hood. Of course, you need to plan some separate space for the above activities, such as a kitchen table on the side. And you also have to be particularly tidy. submitted by /u/PolpyBlu to r/floorplan [link] [comments]

2 tiered kitchen islands?
Are 2 tiered/multi level kitchen islands functional? I don't like the idea of our sink/dishwasher on the island while other guests are potentially sitting right across, so I would prefer a second tier for some separation like photo above. However my husband thinks one big island is a cleaner look. We have no other place to put the sink. Also, Google apparently says these are outdated. I also see some trends now where the seated tier is actually lower at dining table level, but I don't know how I feel about that. submitted by /u/c9chung to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Kitchen remodel before & after
Bought the house 10 years ago because we loved the location and view but HATED the kitchen. Only one person fit in the kitchen at any given time and it was the Ikea idea house. Learned a lot in the process. Not sure I would do rift white oak cabinets again - or at least would spent a LOT more time making sure everything was correct so I didn’t have mismatched grain patterns all over. We went with GE Cafe appliances. I really like the look of them but 1) icemaker SUCKS which you think is no big deal until you have more than 2 guests over and have to run to the store for ice every time. 2) Matching the “bronze” handles was a challenge. Everyone’s version of bronze is different so trying to find a faucet with soap dispenser, garbage disposal button and hot water dispenser was rough. Thanks Waterstone but $$$&. For cabinet pulls we found Atlas Homewares Thin Square 7-9/16 Inch Center to Center Handle Cabinet Pull in “champagne” bronze which we love and fits well with the GE Cafe “bronze” handles. Has just enough of the red tint in it to make it more bronze than the bright gold options we kept running into during our search. We went with a longer island versus adding a dining area by the window (now glass door). Haven’t missed it. Bought a transformer table we use for holidays and gatherings and it works great. Removing the wall which had structural implications was hard but not as expensive as we were told by multiple contractors it would be. One contractor told us to “fall in love with the post” coming from the island as our only option. It cost us about $4k for an engineer and maybe $20k in framing and the beam to eliminate that dumb wall that caused the 1p kitchen design. We were made to feel crazy for wanting to put a beam in and eliminate the wall separating the living area and kitchen and it just took persistence and a great contractor to help us see the vision. Favorite things so far are the island double waterfall with calacatta miraggio gold engineered quartz countertops and the drawer fridge in the bar area (near sliding door for indoor/outdoor entertaining). We like the wood and white look but again not 100% excited about rift cut white oak cabinets. Another thing we really love unexpectedly is all drawers below compared to lower cabinets with doors. SO much more storage!! I wouldn’t do the 5 in one oven (GE Cafe) again. Just get a microwave. The amount of work to go through every time you want to use it as something other than a microwave (along with risks of accidentally leaving something metal in there before switching back) is not worth it. Just get a microwave. It will save you a lot of money and you have an oven you can use in convection to air fry (or get a countertop air fryer). We went through a lot on our 10’ island and the outlets because we wanted extra deep seating on the island so you didn’t hit your knees when you sat there. We ended up finding a way to build outlets on the inside of each side of the island that could pass our electrical inspection. We didn’t want a “pop up” on the island and had a really hard time figuring this out but ultimately built a small wood frame inside each side of the island on living room side in order to install outlets. Enjoy the before and after of our Ikea idea house turned more contemporary and functional with our recent remodel. submitted by /u/tkziggity to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Am I nuts to buy this house as a first time home buyer?
Help! Considering buying this mid century modern home (1958) Need ideas for how to modernize tastefully (without ruining the character) and also estimates of cost? For the kitchen we would keep the flooring but replace the island, cabinets, and appliances. I don’t have pictures of the bathrooms but they have original tile. Need some updating. Need new carpeting and wallpaper removed/painting in some areas. also needs deck replaced. Deck is currently stone and looks good to the naked eye but is leaking into garage ceiling which is underneath it. We’d have about 100k to put into it immediately. submitted by /u/vermonter432 to r/Contractor [link] [comments]

I accidentally broke my boyfriend’s ribs and punctured a lung after he recreated the worst day of my life as a “prank.” I think it's destroyed my life. What do I do now?
This just happened two nights ago, so I’m still reeling emotionally. I know this is long, but there’s some important background context, and I am in desperate need of answers. I’ve been a longtime listener to the THT podcast, so I’m really hoping that the community can just…give me options on what I can do. Almost 6 years ago, I (29M) lost my partner suddenly in an accident while he was overseas on a work trip. When I lost him, I cannot describe the pain and the anguish and the emotional hellscape that I found myself in. We planned a life together and in a fraction of a second it was all gone. In the aftermath, I completely collapsed as a human. I left my career in healthcare, I couldn’t leave my apartment for 3 months, I lost 60 pounds and was already really skinny, and I just shut down. In short, I was a mess in every single way. With the support of some very persistent friends, community resources, and an amazing therapist, I started to process and move forward. Through intense therapy and temporary psychiatric help, I’ve been able to heal over the years, though grieving isn’t a linear process. Fast forward to around two and a half years ago when I met my current boyfriend (29M). It’s hard to describe getting into a relationship after losing a soulmate, but please know that he wasn’t a rebound and isn’t second place or anything like that. I do love him with my whole heart even though I’ll always still love my late partner. My boyfriend has a foundation of similar values, ideal relationship dynamics, communication styles to my late partner, but has a completely different personality, look, lifestyle, appearance, etc. I love him for all of his differences as much as his similarities. My therapist and I knew that it was important for me to not date someone who I would expect to be a stand in for my late partner. Her and I have checked in constantly throughout the major stages of my relationship to ensure that I’m sticking to that. At this point, I’ve honestly pictured what the rest of my life would look like with him in it, and he’s said the same. He was also the most understanding boyfriend when I first told him about my late partner’s passing and my grieving journey. If there was a textbook way to handle the situation, he could’ve written the whole thing. I truly could not have asked for a better boyfriend. That was until yesterday. My boyfriend likes to play pranks on me, and he’s even filmed some of them to upload online. It’s not a constant thing or frequent enough for me to always be on my toes, and I’ve always said that I’m prone to weird things happening to me, so I’m never the wiser when I’m being pranked. For sake of anonymity, I won’t go into details on previous pranks he’s pulled, because a few have gotten quite a large number of views, but they’re mostly harmless, annoying, etc. As much as I hate being pranked in the moment, he’s never gone too far, he’s always checked in on me, he gets my permission to post them, and all that. I guess I should say that he had never gone too far until yesterday. He texted me in the morning to confirm dinner plans we had that evening, and I replied asking if he needed me to pick up anything on my way home from work. At least twice a month, he cooks us an elaborate dinner. I’m talking coordinated wine pairings, 5 courses, tasting menus, things like that. Like I said, he’s a perfect boyfriend. I planned to FaceTime him at lunch like I always do, so no big deal. Well he didn’t answer me at lunch. No big deal, he’s probably busy. I sent him a couple more texts after lunch, just random stuff, but he never responded, and when I finished work my phone showed he never even read them. I got a little anxious admittedly but pushed it aside. I don’t need to hear from him constantly, but a sudden break in our routine felt weird because he always tells me in advance when something is going on or if he’s busy. Always. He also always forgets something for the dinners he makes us and asks me to grab something on the way home. Always. Not today though. Anyway, I drive to his apartment from work and let myself in with the key he gave me. I expected to hear music, smell some dinner, or something, but it was completely silent. I put my stuff down on the hall bench and walked toward the kitchen. I saw grocery bags at the kitchen's entrance, which I thought was weird. As soon as I entered the kitchen, I saw a broken wine glass at the far end of his kitchen island with a few drops of what I thought was red wine until I saw his feet sticking out. I sprinted around the island and he was laying on his side, facing away from me. There was blood everywhere. On the edge of the island, splatters on the wall, and a large pool of blood around his head. I haven’t made the sounds that came out of me since I got the call that my late partner passed. My heart was racing so bad that my chest and head hurt. Though I felt like I was in full blown panic mode, I physically went into autopilot. I work in healthcare again, so I'm glad that my instincts kicked in. He was on his side, so I flipped him flat on his back. From what I gathered, trying to take a medical visual inventory of his injuries, it looked like he was just bleeding from his head. He didn’t respond to my voice or a quick sternal rub. He wasn’t moving at all, and when I put my ear down to his mouth, I wasn’t hearing or feeling breathing. He had blood all over his face, so I couldn't tell if his lips were blue or anything like that. I do remember checking for a pulse and I truthfully didn’t feel one though in hindsight I can’t be sure if I was mentally stable enough to discern one either way, so I tilted his head back and put my hands over his chest to start CPR while screaming at my phone for Siri to call 911. I only got 2 hard and fast compressions in when he miraculously “came back from the dead” screaming bloody murder. After that, I’m not going to lie, I blacked out a bit. I remember getting lightheaded, my boyfriend shaking me, him apologizing, I remember him calling off 911, and I remember leaving his apartment covered in what I had obviously figured out was fake blood. I did get a call from 911/police to confirm basically that my bf had played a prank and no one needed help. Otherwise, I felt completely catatonic in a way? I dissociated. Needless to say, since last night I’ve been a complete mess, I’m angry, and I’m devastated. The entire thing keeps playing in my head, and while the logical part of my brain knows that he pranked me and that he’s alive, my body hasn’t figured it out. Worse, this completely brought up everything surrounding my late partner, and I feel like I have to start my grieving process for him all over again. The anger I feel isn’t a revenge type of anger, but an exhausted type of anger. The rage is so strong and intense that it’s taken every once of energy away to act on any of it. I guess that’s a good thing. My boyfriend has tried calling me over 40 times. He’s sent me too many texts to count. He even came over to try to talk to me that same night, but luckily even though he has a key, I have a deadbolt chain so he wasn’t able to get in. Basically he shouted an apology through the crack and begged me to talk to him. My neighbor shooed him off after a while. My friends have also messaged me to ask if I was safe, saying he contacted them and told them everything. I’ve only texted one of my friends back. I have a therapy appointment tomorrow, but I just...need to crowdsource thoughts right now. My boyfriend’s sister called me this morning in tears apologizing on her brother’s behalf and told me how sorry he is. She said that if he would’ve told her about the prank beforehand, she would’ve chewed him out for even thinking of the idea. Their parents were horrified as well and have said that they are here to support me in whatever way I need. His sister told me that he had come over to her house after I didn’t let him into my place and he was having a major anxiety attack with chest pain, racing heartbeat, and trouble breathing. It was so bad that she took him to the ER where they learned that I had fractured a couple of his ribs while attempting to give him what I thought was life-saving CPR and in the process had also punctured a lung. There are so many emotions going through my head right now. I am so angry at the world for — yet again — ripping away a man I love from me, because even though he’s alive, I don’t think that I’ll ever be able to get over this. At the same time, I still love and care for him. It’s like, all I want to do is rush to the hospital to be by his side, while at the same time feel like the sight of him would make me sick. He disgusts me in every way, yet the thought of being without him breaks me in ways I can't explain. What do I do? Is there any possible way for me to heal from this? Do I even consider trying to fix things with him? Do I even want to make this work? Was this entire relationship a facade that he built up to “sell” a prank that is so personal and cruel and disgusting? Why would he do something that he knew would destroy me so thoroughly? What did I do to him that made him think that I deserve this? How do I start my grieving process over while also processing this breakup? How can I ever trust anyone ever again? I mean seriously.
