Honest opinion Legoland CA
Ok we just returned from a 6th birthday trip for my son. I did a fair amount of research before our trip, to include Reddit posts. One of the things I read often was that the breakfast buffet and other food was not good at the hotel. For reference, we stayed in the adventure room and the main hotel and only ate there and in the park. The breakfast buffet was fantastic for a buffet. My son was only bummed that we never were served the Lego shaped waffles that they supposedly serve from time to time. We mostly door dashed dinner but on our last night we decided to eat at skyline. My wife and I shared the brussel sprout appetizer and the salmon. Both were fantastic! We had a fantastic trip, the employees we interacted with were all SUPER kind and friendly. They all seemed genuinely happy to be of help. The pace of the time the park opened etc was honestly perfect for us. It felt like fun but without the pressure of rope drop to fireworks that you often get at Disney. We enjoyed our time very much! Also, if you have time, the flower fields very near the park are in bloom right now (April) and are worth a visit! I’d say we will be back but our 6year old is the youngest and the park is truly geared for younger kiddos. 6 years old was the perfect age to visit and we are so glad we did! submitted by /u/kenkel4 to r/legoland [link] [comments]

Legoland was great but the operating hours are terrible
We just finished up a 2-day, 3-night trip to Legoland and had a great time. The one major piece of feedback I have for the park is please, I’m begging, fix the wonky hours. Navigating the timing of everything was a major chore and it rarely made sense. The park opening and closing hours change three times over the week depending on the day. The park is open for a measly 6 hours on most weekdays, opening at 10:30am by which point most families with small kids have lived five lifetimes. It closes at 4:30pm, so if your kid naps in the middle of the day you can choose to miss half the opening hours or skip the nap and suffer the consequences. Early access gives you an extra 30 minutes in the park but only three rides are available and they get jam packed with all the people eagerly waiting to get the day started because dang, we just entered the park and it’s nearly lunch. Food and coffee options don’t open until 11am at the earliest, some not until noon. Waiting to open the coffee shop until 11am in a park filled with sleep deprived parents has to be one of the worst business decisions I’ve ever encountered. The water park opens on weekends only (seasonally, we visited in April) and closes an hour before the theme park, while the aquarium both opens and closes later than the theme park for unknown reasons. Just posting this as a warning for those who like to plan - you may need more days in the park than you think because it is hard to get to everything with the limited hours and closures. Edited to add, since someone asked: This was at Legoland California. submitted by /u/The_Lime_Lobster to r/legoland [link] [comments]

Had great time at Legoland California
We just got back from a trip to Legoland California with two kids and wanted to share a really positive experience. It honestly exceeded our expectations -- we may have even enjoyed it more than Disneyland. We stayed at one of the Legoland hotels, and that was a huge win. Being just a few steps from the park made everything so easy, especially with kids. And the themed rooms were a big hit with the kids. The whole experience felt very low-stress compared to bigger parks. The park itself is super easy to navigate, which was great with younger kids, but there was still plenty to keep older kids entertained too. The rides, activities, and little details throughout the park were really well done, and the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. Our only real downside was the food at the hotel, it was pretty mediocre. Not terrible, just not on par with the rest of the experience. Overall though, we had an awesome time and would absolutely recommend it, especially for families with kids in the elementary school range. submitted by /u/Direct-Flamingo4504 to r/legoland [link] [comments]

Underwhelmed by Legoland
So we’re on day two at Legoland California (my wife got us two-day passes), and I’ve gotta be honest, I feel like we could’ve skipped today. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad she’s having fun and the kids are happy enough. But man… I expected more builds and hands-on Lego stuff. There are a few stations, sure, but it’s mostly rides with long lines and not nearly enough places to sit. After a while it all kind of blurs together. Same line, different plastic. I’m not complaining out loud because this trip was my wife’s idea and she’s having a great time, and that’s honestly what matters most. But internally? I’m just hanging in there, smiling through it, trying to appreciate that we’re making family memories… even if those memories mostly involve waiting in the sun surrounded by screaming toddlers and five-year-olds with zero spatial awareness, subpar/overpriced food, and rides that feel straight out of a county fair. IMHO this is a one-day thing, and the two-day pass is designed purely to keep you spending money in the park. I guess this is a rite of passage for dads everywhere. Maybe this post will help another dad plan accordingly. submitted by /u/ebonylabradane to r/daddit [link] [comments]

Help! Am I doing Legoland all wrong?
Just had our day 1 of 2 today. First time after waiting for my kids (5 and 3) to be old enough for Legoland. Our first visit was mostly.... miserable. Maybe my expectations were high but it's been pretty disappointing. I'll get to what we liked below but I wanted to see if anyone could give some tips or advice because people seem to rave about this place here and IRL. WAIT TIMES - the park didn't even feel very packed compared to the multiple times we have been to Disneyland and Universal, but how are the lines so slow?? Staff seemed so inefficient in every ride we've gone. Is this just a matter of getting the 'Reserve & Ride' top tier? It's unbelievable how expensive it is! Which brings me to... **EVERYTHING IS... PREMIUM?" - Why is so much of the 'entertainment' charged? It feels more like a carnival with every interactive game being pay to play. I'm not saying that games for prizes should be free, but it's very confusing and frustrating for young kids why some things are ok to play with and some aren't. Specially after paying so much for admission. STATE OF DISREPAIR - So many of the rides or amenities are dirty, paint chipping off, Lego figures faded from the sun. It feels so much more like a state fair carnival than Disneyland. The LEGO factory experience was essentially abandoned. Not a single LEGOland employee around and half of it wasn't operational. CUSTOME SERVICE - not all staff was bad but so many of unfriendly and clearly unqualified. If I was paying $40 to get into the State Fair carnival, I would understand but not at how much it all costs to be here. Staff at rides seem unprepared, and at times rude. Multiple times I saw some staff yelling at kids (sometimes legitimate but sometimes not). I was taking a picture of my kid and another child wandered in the shot and a staff person YELLED at them to get off the shot and I felt so bad I had to tell the little girl it was ok. Food - I admit I might be petty here, but I ate a mediocre yet expensive cheeseburger at the 'Burger Stop'? that made me so nauseated hours after that it was a miracle I didn't throw it all up. Now to the positive: My kids loved the playgrounds. They also loved any building Lego station that we found along the way. Honestly, if the whole park was just play areas with Lego building stations at a third of the price, I would be plenty content. And maybe I just had too high of expectations that I just need to lego. Is there anything you would bsuggest that I do differently (besides have a better attitude) for day 2? submitted by /u/thechateau to r/legoland [link] [comments]

Tips from an employee (LEGOLAND California)
Hit up skipper in the morning first because it has one of the slowest moving lines due to the loading system. 2.the Driving school attractions usually never have a long line so if most of the lines are long, go on driving school if you are of age to do so. Fire Academy is permanently closing in a month, so ride it while you still can. Driving and Junior are being moved to fire academy but will be much much smaller Any questions feel free to ask! submitted by /u/GroundbreakingCar616 to r/legoland [link] [comments]
