never buying a lenovo again
i bought a lenovo legion 5i last summer so that i could use it for CAD for my engineering degree. fast forward 8 months, the laptop doesn’t turn on anymore for more than a minute, after that it automatically shuts down, the fans just start going crazy off startup, and i can’t even use the laptop. what a waste of time and money. the legions still under warranty but damn lenovo sure sent a message to the customers about how little they care for us with their shitty customer support. btw i dont game and i only use office so no idea why this happened. i’m sending this laptop for repair in the hopes of it working and me being able to receive it back in the next month. i might’ve just gotten unlucky with the laptop, but holy shit if someone asked me to recommend a laptop i’d rather recommend to not get a laptop over getting this hunk of junk. anyways, people that bought the same laptop as me, do you have a similar experience or is just that i got unlucky. sorry for the rant its been a long day… submitted by /u/vseprbabs to r/LenovoLegion [link] [comments]

Dont buy Lenovo laptops!
Do you enjoy constantly troubleshooting your computer over the most random nonsense? Like when the fan suddenly decides it’s training for takeoff and goes full jet engine for absolutely no reason, or when the UI bugs just reshuffle themselves with every Windows update like it’s some kind of feature. I still haven’t figured out why my volume controls disappeared for months. Just gone. No explanation. Then one day they randomly come back like nothing ever happened. Cool, thanks. And the touchpad… works perfectly fine for a while, then suddenly stops responding and now you’re digging through drivers, settings, and forums just to get basic functionality back. And even when it “works,” it stutters, clicks the wrong things, and scrolling feels like it’s fighting you the whole time. Then you’ve got the classic Lenovo experience—updates that somehow break more than they fix, Wi-Fi that randomly disconnects just to keep things interesting, battery life dropping off a cliff for no reason, and the keyboard backlight turning on and off like it’s haunted. At this point it feels less like owning a laptop and more like maintaining a fragile experiment that could break itself at any moment. TLDR; BUY any other brand than Lenovo, same-ish price(I bought my Lenovo laptop for 1100 dollars.) submitted by /u/BiotrT to r/laptops [link] [comments]

Quality of Lenovo laptops
Just a rant about Lenovo laptops. I bought a Lenovo Ideapad 5 in 2021. It was advertised as a decent everyday use laptop. For £500 I wouldn't even call it very cheap. It was ok for a couple years, no issues, but after ~3 years camera already started freezing and then stopped working fully after 4 years. Now after almost 5 years, motherboard seems to be faulty and I had to buy new laptop. I thought oh well, almost 5 years is not that bad, I'll buy Lenovo Yoga slim 7 which is supposed to be premium model. It still costs £800 in the UK with discount. This one was much bigger disappointment. It started freezing after one week, diagnostics software showed some CPU error and I had to return it after one week back to Currys. I could say I was just unlucky, but not so sure considering that with the first one camera stopped working too soon, and this even more expensive model was faulty. I read a lot of people had similar complaints. So not really sure why are these laptops getting so many positive reviews. And how much money do you have to cash out for a decent laptop? £2000-£3000? I mean who would even want to pay so much to a company that you can not trust. submitted by /u/Naive-Active6223 to r/Lenovo [link] [comments]

Lenovo "technician" breaks laptop worth $1400
Lenovo warranty guy just broke 4 month old Legion 83JJ. So initially the problem was only with two plastic switches of the keyboard which broke, the keys were still functional, only the scissor-switch plastic hinges were broken. Simple repair that doesn’t even require opening the backlid, but he insisted on replacing the whole keyboard, which is on the last layer of disassembly. The first thing he does is removing the battery, and somehow he shorts it onto the motherboard amd creates orange sparks. Then he goes on to yank out the eDP cable of the laptop and breaks it in the process. After opening the laptop, we find the display completely dim (because he broke the line related with the backlight probably) Now he calls another of his friend "engineer" who instructs him what to do over the phone, and tells him to remove the bezel of the display and the tape behind the display. After this he asks him to remove the "screen-guard", which actually the anti-glare film that came with the laptop (because it was dark in color), anyway he tells his engineer that this "screenguard" is external, even though I told him it came with the laptop, and then proceeds to peel it out with his screwdriver so hard that I'm 100% sure he made some dead pixels (can't test because the screen is broken) Not only that, he also caused major dents in the body of the laptop because he didn’t have a proper prying tool. In the end of this whole thing, his engineer asks him to leave the place on teams, and the technician has the audacity to ask for ₹1200 for "servicing" (which was replacing thermal paste) So this was my experience with Lenovos "Premium Care" warranty submitted by /u/taco-earth to r/Lenovo [link] [comments]

It's a literal pandemic within Lenovo laptops
Planning to get a LOQ 15ARP9 (R7, 4060), if anything goes smoothly, 2 weeks till I get it, is what I would say, until I discovered multiple posts here on how their Ryzen models suffered from the dead mobo PANDEMIC. First, it was the 2021-22 version, then pre 2024, and then Intel HX version, now it's Ryzen aswell. Should I get a LOQ? submitted by /u/WobblingWomble to r/GamingLaptops [link] [comments]

Everyone keeps saying Lenovos dont last, what do you recommend instead?
Im about to go into college (Chem Major!) and I dont wanna have to worry about a laptop that's built to break right after warranty ends, but I can't be breaking the bank, considering all my college expenses right now. I thought I was interested in the 1TB Lenovo Yoga 7 in Seashell, but I guess it might not be the durability I'm looking for. I dont remember which model it was but my older sister had a Microsoft laptop, where you could detach the screen and just use it like a tablet, but the hinge was weird (yk when you slit cardboard and it rolls smoothly? that's what the hinge was like) so it left a big gap when the laptop was "closed" which caused her laptop to break by her senior year after just 4 years, so Im staying away from that model too. I do like the idea of annotating, hence the tablet mode interest of the Yoga, but I guess its not as important as having a durable laptop. Looking for something with 1TB storage, a good processor, and a lasting build. I hope to take it with me to grad school in the future as well. Thank you! submitted by /u/ysalimitless to r/Lenovo [link] [comments]
