Loft Bed

My December “baby” has been in a loft bed for about 8 month now. I was nervous having him sleep on the top but he has been doing great. He loves sleeping up high and that below he has a fort. We laid out rules like no jumping and he has been good about them. I keep night light on his room so if he wakes up he can see and remember he’s higher off the ground.

Hello. New to this community. Love what the people on this subreddit are doing. I make DIY plans. Here is a recent creation. I would like your critique. The idea behind the design. I noticed a lot of plans make the stairs part difficult. Sometimes leaving the safety railing off completely. What if the person using it gets confused at night. Total lumber cost is roughly $300. Hi!! I’m an 18 year old girl with a super small room and a king size bed that takes up almost my whole space. My closet is tiny too so all my clothes end up on my floor or on my bed and I’m genuinely sick of it. I’ve begged my parents for a new bed for years but they’ve always refused. Where I live it’s really hard to find a job as a minor due to strict child labor laws but I finally managed to find one a few months ago before I turned 18 so I’m thinking about buying myself a new bed. I’m thinking about getting a loft bed so I can have more floor space and somewhere to actually put my stuff. If anyone has a small room, is a loft bed worth it? Like, is it comfortable for everyday sleeping? I also need affordable options since I start college next year😓 I also want something that has a spot to charge my phone since my current bed has one but other than that I’m not too picky I just need space !! I’m also 4’11 if that matters since I’ve seen people talk about height whenever I try to look for opinions on loft beds Any suggestions on what type of loft bed to get and where to buy it would help a lot. I live now in SF so I can go to school. I'm single, don't have plans to be otherwise. I need space, a loft bed would add space. I have a huge ceiling height (11ft maybe?) and would like to add stairs to it. As far as accessibility, it would not be bad. Why do people insist that they are tacky and a bad idea? What are better ways to save space? I feel like putting drawers and a desk underneath a bed is probably one of the best ways. We just signed for an awesome apartment but the bedroom is small on space. It does, however, have very high ceilings (think warehouse conversion kinda thing.) We’re 31 and 32 (a couple) and are considering getting a loft bed in order to maximise space and put a desk underneath. Obviously we’d probably have to go down the bespoke route rather than your classic IKEA because we’d need something sturdy enough for 2 adults. We’re both pretty nimble and fit but husband is 6’3” so his feet poke out a full size - we’d need to go for a queen. Anyone got any experience of this beyond college?
