Interviewed with Omnicom, why are there group interviews now?
And no, I do not mean a group interview that lands the job, I mean as an open day process that leads to the job. We had to present a campaign idea that had like 7/8 of us in and you can tell there would be some overshadowing as I got in my feedback. submitted by /u/QasimofKarbala to r/advertising [link] [comments]

I got Laid-Off this morning- OMD Canada - Omnicom
Hi guys, writing in a state of shock and sadness, that I have been laid off from my Assistant Strategist role at OMD Canada. Reason for termination- "Business Restructuring", I just feel it might be another term used for Merger and offshoring work. Additionally I was told that I would have another meeting on Thursday with the HR to discuss my relieving package. Would really help if anyone can advice what other things I shall do, what questions or things I need to do. I have the laptop with me. However my email access and sign in access has gone. How will they reach out to me now? Took 10 minutes for the conversation and all I was able to say was okay, during the call and as soon as the call ended I just cried for a while. My first job after graduation, taking up all the tasks working after hours, going out of the way to get work done. Feeling sad and in a state of confusion that now even junior roles are being cut off, I literally didn't even have a pay package I should be boasting about. Making strong relationships with everyone at my office was a best thing I could have done. Reaching out to my network, hopefully people have been replying and feeling a little motivated that I will get back on the track soon. Please if anyone can reach out with any Leads for junior roles? Thanking again to this community, looking ahead with optimism 🤞 submitted by /u/smallSHARKK9933 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Leaving Omnicom
Fortunate enough to land another role - just found out today. Those who’ve left recently (post IPG acquisition), what’s been the typical process? Did you guys give in your laptops (I’m hoping I can keep mine lol). Was it the standard 2 weeks or did you say you were leaving after 2+ weeks? I was thinking 3 weeks just cuz I have so much to offload and dependent teams that I don’t want to leave these folks hanging (especially a lot of India resources that I’ve worked closely with these past 5 years - they deserve better). By the way what do I do with my 401k balance? Do I just leave it in fidelity? Do I have to do anything before my last day? submitted by /u/ProfileOriginal3865 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Omnicom Health town hall showcasing meds our plan excludes
This morning’s Omnicom Health town hall ( which is a misnomer since we aren’t allowed to interact with the speakers) featured creatives for Cosentyx and Jakafi. Meanwhile, under our Express Scripts plan: Cosentyx appears on the base formulary but is not covered under our plan Jakafi is covered only with prior auth, limits, and very high out of pocket cost Our plan is self funded under ERISA, so the company has broad discretion over what gets covered, so this is a deliberate plan design decision my Omnicom. We are a multibillion dollar organization actively promoting these therapies while our own benefits have been gutted so employees often cannot access them. Sitting through a town hall listening to Dana drone on about empathy while our own plan excludes or gatekeeps these drugs Omnicom profits from is infuriating. It also raises a bigger question about transparency: Do these clients know that the people building these campaigns are shut out from accessing the very medications we’re promoting? submitted by /u/tungsten_pancake to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Omnicom benefits and PTO?
Im currently looking into moving to another agency and Omnicom seems to have a lot of openings. I’m looking to move into manager role from senior associate in video investment or investment manager. My current company has great benefits such as unlimited PTO and a good 401k deal. I heard Omnicom is kind of lacking in the 401k match department. But wanted point of view if everything works out and I move to Omnicom. Are the benefits at at Omnicom at least decent? How much PTO do you get usually? Is there anything else I should know like are there a good amount of sick days? Anything helps, thanks! submitted by /u/Future_Strawberry_92 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Stay away from Omnicom right now
The horror stories about OMG these days aren't exaggerated - they're actually worse than what people are saying. Working here feels like watching a train wreck in slow motion and the leadership has absolutely no clue what they're doing Those of us who survived the recent cuts are drowning. Management slashed headcount without any real strategy for handling the workload, so now everyone's juggling twice as much for the same pay. There's zero direction from the top and each day brings fresh chaos If anyone's considering a role here, please reconsider. The company is bleeding talent and it shows in every project we touch Don't want to sound insensitive to folks who got let go - that was brutal too. But the aftermath for remaining staff has been a nightmare of impossible expectations and complete organizational dysfunction submitted by /u/Full_Employment_9607 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Omnicom CEO makes $70M in 2025 and I think I’ve finally cracked the business model
So I just found out that John Wren is pulling in around $70 million a year. Technically, his base salary is $1, and the rest comes from stock. Which means every time there’s a press release about cuts and the market reacts nicely, his earnings get a helpful little boost. And honestly… fair play. I think I finally understand what we actually do as an industry now. It’s not advertising. It’s not creativity. It’s not even convincing people to buy stuff anymore. It’s cost-cutting as a service. Every time there’s a “challenging macroeconomic environment” or a “strategic restructuring,” a few thousand agency people disappear, the stock price does a small celebratory bounce, and somewhere a compensation package quietly levels up like it just hit a bonus round. Meanwhile: • Someone’s mortgage doesn’t get paid • Someone’s college fees suddenly look even more scary • Entire creative teams get Thanos-snapped into “alumni networks” But don’t worry, because the press release will say it’s about “efficiency” and “future-proofing the business.” And the wildest part is, the system works perfectly. Not for the people making the work, obviously. But for the people measuring the spreadsheet that used to contain the people making the work. Flawless. I’m starting to think the real KPI isn’t creative output anymore, it’s how quickly you can turn salaries into shareholder confidence. Imagine explaining this to someone outside the industry: “We make ads, but the better we get at firing the people who make ads, the more money the top guy makes.” At this point, award shows should just introduce a new category: “Best Use of Redundancies to Drive Executive Wealth.” Winner goes to whoever can cut the most jobs while still technically delivering a campaign. Anyway, congrats to John. Genuinely impressive. Hope the next quarterly results are strong enough to unlock another yacht tier. John Wren says there’s ‘no negativity’ in the Omnicom merger. I’ve been on calls with people literally crying.
What planet is John Wren on? Per article in Adage: Wren claimed business partners have been largely enthusiastic and that optimism is “shared all the way down through our employee base about what position Omnicom now is in …” “So across the board, it’s far better than I fully expected, because I always anticipate that there will be some negativity, but we haven’t seen any of that, any particular place in the group,” Wren said. Really? No negativity? Not ANY?! In your private satellite office in Palm Beach I guess it’s hard to hear anyone crying from your decisions. I’ve literally been on multiple calls with folks who have dedicated late nights and weekends for many years, literally crying because their long time coworkers and friends who are crucial in them hitting deadlines are getting laid off for “efficiencies” with almost no notice after leadership told them on an all agency meeting they want folks to “feel safe”. Who at Omnicom is picking out who is essential and who is not, because the house is on fire and they are still rearranging the furniture. I have spoken to many colleagues across multiple agencies at Omnicom who have expressed to me that they are working late and put in impossible situations to triage the blood that is being spilled from letting go of people who were crucial experts in running the business, with no clear direction on where to go when there is vacuum that cannot be filled and no longer enough staff to support the speed of client asks. I am shocked to see that people high up in leadership continually blindsided that these efficiencies are happening until it’s too late. You mean to tell me you aren’t even consulting with leaders who run over 100s of millions in business that there are about to be canyon-like cracks in business strategy that may cause the company to lose tens of millions of dollars in business because you no longer have the experts needed to service your brand at the speed needed? John Wren, tell us where this “enthusiasm” is being felt below the c-suite level and how this is best for your clients? You have gutted your experts, caused bottleneck in every department, and decimated employee morale. submitted by /u/McStressin to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Omnicom = Dumpster Fire
Everything you’ve heard about the current state of OMG is both true and way understated. Every day here is a new shit storm of incompetence (editing to specify that the incompetence is at the senior leadership levels), and somehow it almost seems worse for those of us left behind in the layoffs. There is no one steering this ship. All this to say if you’re thinking about coming here, do not. Not to diminish the pain for those who were laid off. We are just feeling the effects of a penny pinching org reducing staff significantly with no plan for the work other than putting it on already overworked and underpaid people. submitted by /u/Ok-Zone257 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Omnicom does it once again…
Not only have they capped my PTO to 10 days accrued (6.67 hours per month accrued), made my 401k discretionary, changed my health insurance benefit, and mandatory RTO. They don’t even cover my medications I have been on for years!!!! I specifically checked each of my prescriptions and doctors before signing up for the new health plan and it said it was covered. Stay FAR AWAY from this place. If they haven’t laid you off yet, they’re waiting for you to quit so they don’t have to pay severance or die by not covering medications. submitted by /u/ColdAffectionate8431 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

Shitty Omnicom town hall/email
Wanted to share this bullshit email we just got summing up a worthless town hall that would be a total waste of time to watch. "As you will see and hear, Omnicom Health is 'uniquely powerful, together unstoppable,' ready to lead the future of healthcare" Who gives a shit? Why would we have any interest in Omnicom succeeding? It's already wildly successful, yet all you do is crush your workers. "With you at the heart of it all." Fuck you! You just laid off thousands of people, cut our PTO, slashed our 401ks, and are forcing us back into the office even though we've proven we can be productive and successful when fully remote. And now you're going to pretend you care about us? Go fuck yourself you lying sack of shit. submitted by /u/Pale_Patience_9251 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

The leaks coming out of Omnicom’s Townhalls today should give every client pause about hiring them
I’m hearing some meetings crashed and couldn’t be accessed, others featured long leadership rants about how the execs are victims and others where leadership are doing long-winded presentations about how much this merger is going to help the business. I think Mark Read at WPP had one of the worst years in history when it came to corporate communications and PR, but these Omnicom leaders are giving him a run for his money. If they can’t even handle basic PR and comms for themselves, how could they for a huge global brand? If I were a CMO I would be going all in on Publicis or an Indy. What a complete mess. submitted by /u/Cornwallis400 to r/advertising [link] [comments]

CMV: Omnicom and IPG have gutted their most valuable asset, and will now fall into deep, deep decline.
One thing that seems to get lost in all the AdAge and Adweek coverage of the Omnicom and IPG mergers is WHY they needed to merge. If you talk to CMOs and senior marketing clients, it’s simple: they’ve been paying a premium fee for talent that continues to get worse. They know they’re paying for overhead, not the best creatives, media execs or strategists. Thats why so many huge, blue chip accounts have gone to Preacher or Wieden or Highdive or Arts & Letters. By gutting IPG’s employee benefits and engaging in mass layoffs without even consulting managers about performance, John Wren has doomed OmnicomIPG to fail in the long term. He has completely forgotten Omnicom’s only proprietary asset: talent. This merger will create huge short term savings, but accelerate the decline of their offering and cause a continued exodus of clients. Publicis and independents will continue to chip away at OmnicomIPG from one side, while AI companies batter them from the other. Wren’s handling of this merger has been a disaster to put it lightly, and he will struggle to hire top people for years to come - thus keeping them behind their competition indefinitely. submitted by /u/Cornwallis400 to r/advertising [link] [comments]
