Renter friendly ways to cover this god awful wallpaper and carpets
Honestly don’t know what the obsession was here, I’m moving in on Tuesday and it looks like this was decorated back in the 70s. Renter-friendly wallpaper border solution
In desperate need of help trying to find a renter-friendly solution to covering this wallpaper border around the perimeter of my office. There is sentimental value in the border for our landlord. I could live with it, but I’d prefer something else/it not to be there if I can swing it. I’ve been racking my brain trying to come up with solutions. A few I have thus far: Install floating shelves around perimeter of the room, fill with books/decor/plants to cover the border (inspo pic attached, drilling/putting holes in walls is fine with landlord) Put peel and stick wallpaper over the current wallpaper border? Worried about damage to the original border I have heard of people using double sided tape to install regular wallpaper… I could order a roll of wallpaper, cut to my needs, and hang up with double sided tape right over the current border I am a quilter and have considered quilting a crazy long quilt top border to hang up, but this would be a pretty large undertaking Could hang up curtains but not loving this idea… still feels dated to me #1 probably most aligns with my aesthetic and preferences, but I am hoping someone here is more creative than me. This border has made decorating my office SO difficult, any advice is very appreciated!! submitted by /u/scaryskier to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Renter Friendly Options for Redoing Apartment Floors and Walls
Hey there, I hope everyone's doing well! My partner and I just moved into a new place, and we would like to spruce it up a bit. We're renting- of course- and we wanted to know of any brands, and or materials that you- the community- trust to use that are renter-friendly when it comes to flooring and wallpapers, as well as any other switcheroos we can make to really personalize a space that we eventually would like to get our deposit back on. For the Bathroom (Budget: $150-$300) Flooring: We're planning on redoing the bathroom floor as well as adding wallpaper. For the floor, we want to go with a peel-and-stick tile, including grout and silicon caulking for all the exposed edges, but we aren't sure which brands are trustworthy enough for that since we're new to the DIY game. We understand that we should have an underlayment barrier, but we're unclear as to how to go about choosing a vapor and waterproof barrier for a bathroom that's reasonably priced and safe to use in a bathroom (or in other places, to save money if we have to buy a large roll), so it won't damage the floor. We also aren't sure what order of operation we should follow to ensure there is no damage to the bathroom flooring. We were thinking of the following steps for the Bathroom Flooring: Clean and cover the bathroom floor in blue painter's tape to protect the floor (we're uncertain if it's vinyl or tile). If you can recommend another material to cut down on cost of using nothing but blue painter's tape to protect the floor, let us know please. Use the peel-and-stick vapor and waterproof vapor barrier on the floors with this or this material, on top of the blue painter's tape. (Yes, we know floors coming in contact with water and vapor should probably have a better material like Schluter's Kerdi Waterproof barrier, but we're trying to save money, and also not have to do the landlord's job to renovate this outdated space.) Sweep and vacuum the floor to get rid of any dust and add the peel-and-stick tile and make the appropriate cuts where need be. Grout + Clean up the grout and manage the haze. Caulk all trim edges with a water resistant silicon caulking that would go around the toilet, trim, bathroom vanity, and tub. (Definitely recommend us a good brand that we can remove with ease or minimal damage so we can fix it before moving out.) Please let us know if you guys know of any materials you'd recommend using for the vapor and water barrier, the caulk, the grout, and peel-and-stick tile. Should we forgo the blue painter's tape at the beginning or keep it? Should we use another material to protect the floor in the bathroom of the apartment we're renting before putting the barrier down, or is it safe to just put the barrier down? Again, we don't know if the flooring is vinyl or tile, but it looks more like a luxury vinyl floor, so we want to protect it in case the MoistureBlock material damages the flooring upon removal when we eventually move out. Walls: For the bathroom wallpaper, we were looking around and were thinking of cleaning up the walls and then covering them in this material, very carefully, so that it lies flat, and then use yellow painter's tape to ensure the paper is nicely secured. Our plan is to make sure that the corners and trim and everything like that are seamlessly covered as well, so that the peel-and-stick wallpaper will go on without any issue, as well as be peeled off without damaging the paint on the walls. Note: It's a little overwhelming looking around at all the peel-and-stick options for wallpaper, so if you have any affordable brands in mind, please let us know! Fixtures: We would like to be able to change out our showerhead for one that has a showerhead as well as a wand. If you have any suggestions as to which are easy to swap out and are affordable, please let us know! Thank you for reading up until this point, and for any suggestions or comments made below! Take care, folx! EDIT: We also want to do the livingroom walls, add a kitchen backsplash, some wallpaper, and redo the floors as well, with renter-friendly materials, so also let us know what materials you trust to make sure you keep your deposit. Thanks again! submitted by /u/sweetspark10 to r/DIY [link] [comments]

Renter friendly wallpaper?
Hi! I’m a renter and probably will be for a long, long time (thanks housing market lol). I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for wall paper that’s renter friendly? I’m new to decorating and want to make my space my own, but I need to do it in a way that the landlord will never find out lol. I just saw a post in here that says peel and stick is awful and wondered if people repeated the sentiment, or if they found a brand that wasn’t too bad, what is it? Renter friendly "hacks"
My question is for those of you who do renter friendly "remodels" (i.e. using adhesive wallpaper to change the look of the counter tops): how did you explain it to the leasing office? Or did they bring it up to you? Did they cause an issue or make you remove it? Been thinking of using contact paper on a white refrigerator and dish washer as well as for back splash, as well as putting a mini washer and drying set up. For reference I'll be living in San Antonio Texas if area matters. submitted by /u/CommunalBottom25 to r/Apartmentliving [link] [comments]

DIY Renter friendly mirror tile wall??
I live in a rental in upstate NY. The building is very old and I’m trying to be a good tenant and not use nails, per my landlords request. I have this big framed mirror but it is VERY heavy and would definitely need to be anchored. I was thinking instead to do a wall of mirror tiles. The space doesn’t get tons of natural light so this would help it to feel lighter and more open as it reflects the kitchen window light as well as the rest of the space. (The paint (not wallpaper) also makes me feel like I’m looking in a kaleidoscope….) I was thinking of doing it up to the doorframe? Too much? Good idea? Should I get peel and stick wall paper and adhere the mirrors to that or is that a bad idea? Thoughts welcome! Should I put the mirrors on Masonite? Would that make it too heavy to stick with adhesives? I was thinking command strip Velcro bc I do not want to tear the paint/plaster off the wall, but I also want the mirrors to stay secure. The adhesives that come with the tiles seem to work too well and taking them off proves challenging… Thank you! submitted by /u/Impressive_Local3635 to r/interiordesignideas [link] [comments]

Renter Friendly Ideas for Hideous Bathroom
Y'all. I'm so stuck on what to do with this bathroom tile. The green would be manageable if it weren't for the yellow. Anyone have any ideas on maybe how to cover the tile in a renter friendly way? And color suggestions? Was thinking either off white or something tone on tone? For the floor, I'm gonna try contact paper because I've read there are waterproof peel & sticks that are renter friendly. But I have no idea how to cover the garish tile. So far, replacing the tile is not an option for a few reasons. Any help or points in the right direction are appreciated. Thanks in advance! **Update: thanks everyone for all the encouragement to just lean into the colors. I've been re-designing in photoshop and with a different floor and some wild wallpaper, it ain't too shabby! I'll post pics when it's complete. Y'all are so helpful! https://preview.redd.it/vb32t4f99uag1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=098f83a0dbfab962a5b2cd8c34a4376727f233a8 https://preview.redd.it/n706z4ib9uag1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4326d1e53c1b23df4a23182e6a6c477046b59a36 there's also a shower with the same tile submitted by /u/Dynomysus to r/DesignMyRoom [link] [comments]

Please help me make this brown 70s bathroom chic (renter friendly advice)
So I just moved into the cutest studio, but it has this very brown bathroom that doesn’t fit the vibe I want for the rest of the apartment. It’s super brown and I don’t know where to start in trying to make it look more chic using renter-friendly methods. There is floor-to-ceiling tan tile on every wall, flat tan porcelain floor tiles, cherry wood on the vanity, door and medicine cabinet.. I’m scared to attempt to buy anything because I don’t want to accidentally make it look worse. I am also scared of things like contact paper, temporary vinyl wallpaper, and peel and stick tile because of the horror stories I’ve seen about it damaging surfaces or being a huge pain to fully remove. I am definitely going to want to my deposit back when I eventually move out. I am looking for any tips on how to decorate the space, ie bathroom accessories, shower curtain color, suggestions for floor mats, wall decor, lightbulb covers, lightbulb type) anything I can do to get the bathroom to match the look and feel of the rest of the space as close as possible and to help all of the brown seem much less intense. I added some photos (photos 3-12) for reference so you can see how I will be attempting to make the rest of my space look. Think sculptural, moody, a combination of silver-leaf and chrome finishes, metal patina, faux furs, Modern and moody with a worn edge. I also included a photo of what chat gpt thinks I should do (2nd photo) although I think it looks a little too glam-millennial for my taste, however it could be a good jumping off point? I feel totally lost and overwhelmed submitted by /u/ultragoat5 to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Growth Idea: Renter Friendly Wallpaper
Renter Friendly Wallpaper is a type of wallpaper that can be easily applied and removed, making it suitable for tenants wanting to temporarily customize a rental property. Wallpaper has enjoyed a revival in recent years. It is now more popular among Gen Z than any other generation. In fact, wallpaper is a $1.88B global market, and is forecast to grow by another $1B within a decade. “Peel and stick” wallpaper can be placed on the wall without the need for any paste. As well as suiting renters, it makes it easier to change out styles with more regularity. Top performing renter friendly wallpapers on Amazon generate close to 1K monthly sales. submitted by /u/hurebegz to r/AssetBuilders [link] [comments]

Renter-friendly adhesives?(CA)
Moving into a new place on Friday and in my lease it says that we can’t paint, wallpaper, puncture, penetrate the walls or apply adhesives to any surfaces without written permission. It seems kind of excessive, especially if we do ask for permission and get rejected, or do it without permission and can’t get our security deposit back as a consequence. The only place to have a tv in the living room is by mounting it above the fireplace. We also have children and will need to anchor some furniture to the walls to prevent tipping, as well as baby-proofing the place(mostly the kitchen), which most of the baby-proofing locks use adhesives or screws. We plan on asking for permission in writing first, but looking into other renter-friendly options it seems that most options for storage/organization purposes use some sort of adhesive in lieu or screws/nails. My concern in using products that have adhesive strips/tapes is that it will be hellish trying to remove them cleanly without causing some sort of damage/defect to the walls or cabinets by the time we want to move out. Has anybody used these “renter-friendly” products with adhesives and were able to remove them without too much of an issue? Are there any specific adhesive types I should avoid? I know that command strips are a decent renter-friendly option for some purposes, but they have their limits and we won’t be able to use them for everything. I want my security deposit back in full when we decide to move out, so I want to make sure that whatever furniture or products we use while living in our new place are either easy enough to remove without doing damage(especially to the kitchen cabinets), or can easily be patched up and restored to pre-move-in condition. submitted by /u/Acceptable-Towel-856 to r/Renters [link] [comments]

Renter friendly home renovation help
Me and my partner just moved here to help out her older relatives for a couple years and to get out of the states. We recently rented a gorgeous but outdated house just outside of Bangkok and are looking to do some renter friendly renovations. We know that a lot of items are not always searchable online but there can be in person stores that have what we need. •We are looking to get peel and stick dark green wallpaper as well as a dark floral print. The rooms are quite huge so we need it to be affordable as possible 6000 baht (200-300 usd range) living room is 44’ x 6.7’ •We’re also having a hard time finding dark colored bed sheets even at ikea or home pro (dark green/red/black) •In search of ramps for a staircase for sausage dogs, we have a two story home and I’m finding it impossible to find either stair wedges for each step or a ramp to place on the stairs. I’d rather him have the freedom to go up and down as he wishes and not harm his back as they’re delicate. •Where to get affordable curtains that have the hook ins on the older track slide rods. •We have looked into ordering stuff from Amazon.it (Italy) cause we know about the shipping with them is affordable, we are very wary of Shopee and Lazada because of research we’ve done. If anyone knows of any shops to go to that are hard to find online please let us know asap! We want to make this home our own while getting to know Thailand :) submitted by /u/Corn_in_my_asscrack to r/Thailand [link] [comments]

I got tired of looking at my ugly faux-stainless refrigerator- and project review
So, I’m trying to make my house into the dollhouse pink wonderland of my dreams without spending gobs of cash. I did sink a little money into my kitchen to make it more functional and get the pink floors of my dreams. But I was left with the awful fridge the place came with. It wasn’t even real stainless steel, just painted a metallic gray with black trim. That was definitely not the vibe. Would I like an actual pink fridge from Big Chill or Smeg or whatever? You betcha! Do I have several thousands of dollars to buy it? Yeah, no. I saw lots of people on Pinterest covering up their fridges with peel and stick wallpaper so I thought I’d give it a go. This is the mostly finished result of my efforts. Let me know what you think. The materials- one can of pink spray paint. I’m not sure it matters which brand, but make sure that it is good for use on plastic. It should say that on the label. I used Rustoleum brand. The wallpaper is Ismoon Floral Boho Peel and Stick Wallpaper. I used one big roll. I don’t think I can use Amazon links in the posts, but I think if you search for that on amazon it should come up. You’ll also need a plastic scraper thing for smoothing on the wall paper and something to cut the wallpaper with- scissors for cutting pieces off the roll and something more like an exacto knife or razor for trimming along the edges. The process- Make sure to clean your fridge with a good degreaser and then use the spray paint according to instructions on the can to paint the plastic trim. Then, when that is done to your satisfaction and dry, get prepared to curse. This particular brand of peel and stick is the worst I have ever worked with. It’s not really repositionible because it gets super stuck to the surface on first touch. Then, when you pull it off, it stretches out. I ruined a couple pieces that way and there are a couple of places where there are wrinkles and imperfections due to this, mostly in not as obvious places, like the edge/bottom. Despite being super sticky, there are other places where it bubbled up and I had a hard time smoothing those out with my scraper. The results- well, I like it better than the faux stainless. Would I do it again? With a different, more amenable brand of peel and stick wallpaper? Probably. It certainly was way more cheap than buying a new fridge. I paid $6 in spray paint, $23 for the wallpaper and invested in about three hours of torturing myself with peel and stick wallpapered. I may come back in several month to tell you how it held up to use. Is this renter friendly? If you don’t paint the trim pieces like I did, maybe. Depending on the peel and stick brand you use. Some of them come off more easily than others. Others will leave residue or not want to come off at all. I wouldn’t risk your security deposit unless you are certain of the performance of your peel and stick. submitted by /u/GreenNerdieBirdie to r/femalelivingspace [link] [comments]

Next tenant was cheap; wanted my stuff for nearly nothing. She didn't get to keep anything.
This happened several years ago. I rented from a social housing society, in the Netherlands. Over here the renter is responsible for flooring, wallpaper or paint, gardening themselves. I had taken great care and great pride in both decorating the house and growing a beautiful garden. When I moved, I talked with the next tenant to see what she wanted to keep. But for a price of course. That's how things are over here. But she was cheap and refused to agree upon a reasonable price for the lot. I got the feeling she gambled I was not able to remove the lot anyway. She gambled wrong. I gathered a bunch of friends and within two days everything was gone. Bare concrete floors. Bare concrete walls. Bare old dirty wooden stairs. The minimal kitchen. And the garden was just an empty, flat, black soil wasteland. Everything was gone including the 3mx5m wooden shed. The fence at the very back, gone. All the nice tiles, plants and flowers, bushes and a pear tree, gone. I was very pleased when I closed the door of that house behind me one final time. Later I heard from a friend who lived a couple of houses down the road from that house, that the new lady was upset with how she found the place, but there was nothing she could do about it. Well, perhaps the lady learned a thing. submitted by /u/SteadfastDharma to r/pettyrevenge [link] [comments]

AITA for not telling my boyfriend I own the building we live in?
I am NOT the Original Poster. That is u/CapableEmergency5154. They posted in r/AmItheAsshole and their own page. This was one of the top voted AITA posts in the last few weeks. Trigger Warnings: threatening behavior (OOP is not physically harmed) Mood Spoiler: bizarre, but OOP is ok Original Post: November 4, 2023 Hi! Obviously a throwaway for privacy, also am new to posting so I hope I do this correctly! When I was 18, my dad gifted me a house with two stories. I am extremely thankful, we are not upper class but my dad bought this house for a cheap price a long time ago (it was his grandmothers cousin's house). I know that this was an extreme privilege and I am forever grateful for this. The layout of this building is like an apartment, but it is a house. So basically, each story has its own separate entry, its own kitchen and bathroom. I live upstairs while I rent out the downstairs. My boyfriend 25m moved in with me about three months ago and we have been together for six months. I have not asked him for money, neither for utilities or to pay me any rent. The only thing he contributes to is groceries, that we split 50/50. I have not brought up that I own the building as it is not something I tell many people, if people ask me I of course tell them that I own it, but if they just assume I am a renter then they can believe that. The topic of a landlord, the renter downstairs or the owner of the building has not been something we have talked about. This last Tuesday the renter came up to tell me that her freezer has stopped working. I answered the door and my boyfriend heard us talking I suppose. I went downstairs to take a look and we came to the conclusion that she would buy a new one, send me the receipt and I would give her the money. She was very grateful for this solution. When I went upstairs my boyfriend asked if it could be fixed, I told him no, but she was going to buy a new one and I would pay for it. He looked at me like I was crazy and asked me why the hell I would pay for her freezer, I told him that because I am her landlord and the freezer was there when she started renting, I would stand for the cost. He just asked me if I was serious, to which I said I was. He begun screaming at me, asking him why the hell I would hold this information from him and that I was an evil person. I said I was sorry for not telling him but I did not think that it would matter. He said he could not believe he was together with someone who is a landlord, that all of us just use people for money and that the only thing “we people” care about is money and would rather have people be homeless then offering affordable rent. (The downstairs is 1 kitchen, 1 bath and 4 other rooms, I charge 500 dollars in rent). I understand many people have had trouble with landlords, but I try my best to be a good one. He demanded that I give him 50% of the money I make from rent or else I was just as bad as he thought. Was I really the asshole for not telling him? He has not talked to me since Tuesday and I have tried telling him that I am truly sorry but he doesn’t answer me at all. Edit: obligatory edit to add that I certainly did not expect this to blow up the way it did, I have tried to read as much as I can. Thank you all for your advice and support, I have talked with him and I will update later tonight when I had have time to process everything that went down and try to write it out as best as I can. For the people who was worried about my safety, I called my dad who was sat outside in his car when I talked with my boyfriend and I am safe as of right now and hope it will continue that way. Thanks yet again to everyone Relevant Comments: I'm assuming he never offered to pay half the rent otherwise this would have come up? "No he did not offer to pay for any of the rent, if he offered I would have explained to him that I own the building. In hindsight, I should have told him that it was my building that he would be living in with me even if he did ask or not. I think that his outburst really showed how he was, I thought about breaking up with him but also thought I was maybe overthinking it. If it comes to that, at least I learned something for future relationships" He wants half of it just cause??? Wtf? "He sees it as both a way of me proving that I am not renting as a way to grab money from people, so that is money is not what I care about I should have no trouble giving him half, but also as a way to prove to him that I am sorry for not telling him earlier that I own to building." This seems fake because it's so random and his thought process is completely illogical: "Idk really know exactly how his brain works or process things, I wish I did. From what I know from these last three months of living with him is he very often blame other people for his misfortune and at the same time expect people to sacrifice things to make it better for him. Thinking back it should have been obvious red flags but it was clearly not for me at the time. His employer did not want to give him a pay raise, he got explained to him that it was mainly due to him sleeping in often, taking longer breaks then what they are generally allowed and his work not being in line of where he should be with his experience. He got frustrated because he believed he should have this raise, then asked me if I thought it would be reasonable to ask them to cut his hours to 75% work time but with the same monthly pay still. The more I think about everything the more confused with myself I become, it really does seem like my thumbs write things that really couldn’t have happen, but crazy enough, it did. Guess there are people for everything" More on what OOP is charging: "I don’t live in the us, and while I live in a very good area, it is a small community with only 3000 people living here. I think for a place like this in a area like this the rent is about 600-700, so it is a bit under the market. The prices are not 100% accurate when converting but about that" You're obviously rich and not upper middle class: "The house has been on my dads side of the family for a very long time, my grandmothers cousin did not have any kids and therefore asked my dad if he wanted to buy it or else she would sell it. My dad bought it for no more than 15k, which is extremely extremely cheap, it was a bit run down at the time and we both worked on it to make it nicer. My dad work as an engineer and my mom work as a cleaner, so no, we are not upper class, just happen to find ourselves in an extremely lucky situation. I really don’t see how it is much different from people having 50k to access in a savings account when they turn 18" OOP is voted NTA. Mini Update in Comments: November 5, 2023 (Next Day) "I am currently at Work (i don’t live in the us so different time zones and i work weekends) To those who have been supportive, thank you. After all your comments i think this relationship need to come to an end, but I will try and talk with him today or tomorrow and see what he says. To those who think this is made up, trust me when I say I wish this was. I can’t speak for why he said things that contradict each other, that only he can have an answer to Ending the relationship should not be that hard emotionally, even though I have grown to like him, seeing and realizing what you helped me do, the emotions you can gather in six months are easy to overcome." Update Post: November 5, 2023 (Same day as the mini update) This is going to be extremely rushed, lack details and maybe not be so clear. I apologize for that and I tried my best writing out everything as clearly with as much detail as I could. Sorry if it feels a bit anticlimactic reading it due to the style of how I wrote it, I tried. Before get on with the update, I just want to give some answers to frequently asked questions and some claims I have seen. Also would like to note that I am not in the US, neither do I live in a country where English is the first language. Why on earth I would charge 500 dollars in rent for a place with 5 rooms? I don’t live in the us, neither is this place in the city. It is a place about 1 hour drive from the nearest city, 15 minutes to the nearest store. We still are about 3000 people who live here, but what we have is a preschool, one playground and school for kids ages 6-9 and a church. The cost for other places with the same amount of rooms in this place is about 600-700, it can be a bit more if the place is newly renovated, have a nice view, have a garage etc etc. many factors play in, the building I own don’t have a garage, is not newly renovated except new floors and wallpapers in rooms that we changed. (Also other stuff that you NEED to change, like stoves, bathtub, toilet etc but I don’t see that as a full on renovation). So even though the rent is below market rate, I still make enough from it to cover outstanding expenses regarding the house. That this story would be fake. You can bet I would have loved it if this was something my mind just came up with, but it is not. I have seen some people claiming it is fake for different reasons, being that if it was real, rent would be higher, but as seen in 1 I already explained why. Another reason is that my bf would not hate on landlords then want to participate in having money from the rent. Do everything everyone always make sense, no, did this make sense, absolutely not. I can’t tell you all why he would say that, I am not him. Why would you move in with someone after 3 months? He had problems with his recent living situation, told me about it, I offered to let him stay with me for as long as he needed/wanted. I did this as a nice gesture as I did not want him to be homeless and he expressed that he would feel like a failure if he moved back in with his parents. On to the update. I read as much as I possibly could and after thinking about this, also about previous stuff I just brushed off, I decided I would break up with him. It may seem like an impulsive decision, but after everything I felt that the sooner, the better it would be. I texted my dad and explained a bit off it all to him, I asked him if he would be willing driving to my place and sit in the driveway when I was going to talk with my boyfriend and he without hesitation said yes. I thought about what I would tell him and how I would lay it out. I was extremely nervous about how it would go and not going to lie, I was scared after all the people telling me I should be careful and that he may try to hurt me. When I got home he was already there, I just greeted him and he of course said nothing. I texted my dad, my dad got here and I sat down on the couch besides my boyfriend (he did not know my dad was here). I can’t recall the exact details of the conversation, as my mind tends to blank out in stressful situations, but I will try my best to recite it. Me - I think we need to have a talk with each other if this relationship is going to work. Him- So you are ready to apologize? Me- I will apologize for not telling you that you lived in my building, which I have apologized for many times already. I will not apologize for not giving you a part of my income. Him - And why is that such a big deal to you? If you don’t rent out for the purpose of taking peoples money, you should have no problem giving any of that money away. Me - I really try to understand how you think. You think I am in it for the money and think I am a bad person for renting out the downstairs complex, but yet you want money from it. Don’t you understand that it seems like you are just in it for the money? I rent out the downstairs for 500$, if you really believe all landlords are money grabbers and not good people, would you like me to donate half off it to charities specifically for housing? Around here is where the calm, collected and fine conversation ended. My memory from all of this is still all around the place, the gist of it is him telling me I was crazy for even thinking he wanted anything to do with the money for selfish reasons. That I should just trust what he says. He said he regret ever meeting me, that he would make sure all my friends knew how I really was. He said that we were through, he threw my keys at me, he tried punching a hole in the wall (unsuccessfully). By this time I had already texted my dad who came in to see what he was doing. My boyfriend just laughed and told us both he never wants to see us again and that he was out. I know this is extremely extremely rushed, but it all just happened so fast and was incredibly stressful. It was much more said and much more done, but in all honesty, I don’t really have the best recollection of everything. I tried to write out all the important stuff and if I in a few days have managed to take care of my emotions and calm myself down, I will try to at least comment and answer questions if any of you all have any for me. The conversation I tried to recite seems very cold and emotionless, in reality it was more emotions and other words, I just tried writing it out as best as I could However, I am safe, he can’t come in here because he threw his key at me so he don’t have it anymore. He is now my ex-boyfriend and I will contact him in some time asking about when he would be able to pick up his stuff. I don’t know where he is staying, neither do I really care. submitted by /u/LucyAriaRose to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]
