I bought a five pack of these great Scrub Daddy sponges even though they weren't on clearance. An even better splurge was buying a beautifully crafted and decorated bent shaft canoe paddle when I already had one the same size but not as nice.

Each one of its benefits are either not that useful or in actuality drawbacks of the product hard when cold, soft when warm. I don't like to wash dishes in cold water, who likes to have their hands freezing. "oh but you don't leave the cold water running, you just make the sponge hard with the cold water", yeah and then because of friction heat, within 10 seconds it becomes soft again and useless for surfaces that requires a rougher or harder sponge. You know what would easily fix this, a sponge with a soft side and a hard side, the ones that you know already exist. Small holes like the smile of the smiley face to clean spoons - yeah there's already a solution for that, bend the sponge, it's ridiculously easy to do and gives you a way better position to scrub hard on the spoon if there is any material left behind, scrub daddy is not really bendable, and different spoons have different sizes and shapes that don't all conform to the smile of the sponge They are pricey compared to dollar store sponges which don't have the above disadvantages I tried sponge daddy first hand, thinking it was an interesting product on shark tank, but it is such a bad product. I just bought a new scrub daddy from Target last week and it feels so different than the last one. I thought I was just so used to the old beat up one that I didn’t know what they should feel like anymore. I realized that I had two more in a pack from earlier this year so I compared them. New one is yellow and the one I found in the multipack is the green one. They are completely different. If you saw my last post about the barely used scrub daddy deteriorating at a rapid pace, here’s the update! I got in contact with scrub daddy, but they also reached out to me over Reddit. I bought the product off Amazon, and it looked very real, complete with heaps of 5 star reviews. However, Scrub Daddy themselves have confirmed that it was a fake, and kindly sent me some real replacements. Looking forward to testing these out 🧽 Thanks to everyone who told me that fakes were rampant, and for the advice! Above is a comparison - brand new, the fake looked identical. I’m not the type of guy to keep a sponge around longer than a week. Personally not only do I feel like it’s disgusting and unhygienic but it also smells terrible. Yes I know you can dip sponges in bleach water or microwave them. This personally has given me unsatisfactory results , not only does my kitchen smell like dirty sponge when I microave them but they usually still come out smelling bad l, I believe this is due to the non organic compounds that are deep in the sponges pores. Because of this I buy a 15 pack of sponges at Costco every 2-3 months. This costs me roughly about $16. Money well spent in my opinion. The reason I’m telling you all this is because if you are a doomsday sponge hoarder then you will likely not appreciate the $4 price tag for this sponge. Your $1 sponge apparently works well for you and I’m not here to change your mind. The Scrub Daddy is all that and a bag of chips. I am able to do basically every house hold chore with it. More notably I’m able to wash my dishes and clean my glass stove which are the 2 most difficult jobs in my kitchen. The best part is I don’t have to feel guilty for getting it drenched in oven top cleaner, I can throw it in the dish washer anytime and it comes out brand new. The design makes it so that not only is hygienic but also long lasting. Because the entire thing is made of scrubbing material, it never gets old. The smiley face and eyes are good for cleaning straws and silverware, it’s nothing life changing but it is a very thoughtful feature on an already wonderful product. I have taken a picture of my Scrub Daddy after 1 month to give you an idea of the wear, I have been using it everyday for my dishes and my stove top, sometimes more than once a day. I think it has another month left in it which is significantly cheaper than my sponge pack. No more sniffing sponges for me . No more prioritizing the old sponges to do dirty jobs. I was watching the episode with Scrub Daddy the other day and I thought it was interesting watching the pitch in hindsight knowing the company has become super successful. These are wikipedia numbers but they've sold over $100 million worth of Scrub Daddys and the company as a whole is estimated at 209 million dollars. It was interesting watching the pitch knowing it would go on to be this huge mega success. Kevin's royalty deals are usually made fun of and seen as a bad deal by everybody, but it got me thinking that this is the scenario where the royalty deal actually kind of makes sense. Lori ended up getting 20% of the company. Kevin's offer was initially 10 cents for every Scrub Daddy sold in perpetuity. The entrepreneur countered with an offer of 5 cents which I thought was interesting as a lot of the entrepreneurs never seriously consider Kevin's royalty deal - he was at least considering it if he could get the number right. Kevin moved down to 7.5 cents per unit. So, back of the envelope math, Kevin would have made $7.5 million on $100 million in Scrub Daddy revenue, but the entrepreneur would have kept 100% of his company now worth over $200 million. As it stands if the company was sold today Lori would make $40 million. Plus, the company's product line has expanded and as I understood the deal Kevin only had the royalty on the original Scrub Daddy. I guess the only way he is not kicking himself is if he believes Lori brought ~$32 million worth of value over Kevin. Which she very well may have, it's the type of product that's right in her wheelhouse. Although I feel Kevin could have gotten the product into retailers as well because it's simply a great product and would have sold well no matter what. I suppose also the royalty deal could have affected liquidity issues, but I think he probably could have gotten Kevin to fund purchase orders as the company really took off. Or maybe he doesn't give a fuck because he's a millionaire many times over, lol. Just interesting to think about because it seems he was seriously considering Kevin's deal.
