BB/CC cream for oily skin while in humid weather
I’m traveling to the Philippines for a month and will be attending two events. I want to wear makeup but not sure what’s going to hold up well. I heard BB creams might be best but never used that. I don’t think my regular foundation (urban decay) will hold up. I’ve worn reg foundation in Florida/Louisiana/Georgia and it holds up decent. Even in New York, but I heard the tropical humidity is different so not sure what to expect. What are your recommendations for this weather & for oily skin! TIA! \*\* **UPDATE:** Finally tried Missha BB cream. I like the feel and coverage. The fragrance, I’m not too fond about. Actually the smell it has is really strong that I removed it after 10 minutes. I got tried Peach Slices Redness Relief Azelaic Acid Serum and it didn't help whatsoever. I was also recommended IT cosmetics, bye bye redness and Erborian’s CC Red Correct If anyone has other recommendations / suggestions, would greatly appreciate it! ------------------------------------------- ALSO ANY RECOMMENDATIONS / TRAVEL TIPS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!! (Must bring that will be needed when traveling) submitted by /u/sinigang5000 to r/phtravel [link] [comments]

🧿 Apparently my skin “glows” so here’s what I do
Okay so this is something I get complimented on A LOT 😭 (touchwood) : my skin. People constantly ask me what makeup/base I use and the answer is literally… none 💀 I only wear lipliner + lipstick. That’s it. No foundation, no concealer, no skin tint, nothing. And thankfully I currently have: - no acne - no acne marks - no pigmentation issues - and my skin naturally stays pretty glowy. So I thought I’d share what’s currently working for me: • Gentle cleanser twice a day (I use FixDerma Skarfix-TX Face Cleanser) • Serum (I use Minimalist Vit C 10% and The Derma Co 2% Salicylic Acid Serum, alternating daily) • Moisturiser twice a day (I use Dot&Key Ceramides and Hyaluronic Barrier Repair Moisturiser) • Sunscreen EVERY day (I currently Foxtale Golden Hour Glow Sunscreen SPF 50 but I will recommend Minimalist/ FixDerma/ The Derma Co) • Not overdoing actives (I use The Ordinary AHA30% + BHA2% Peeling Solution) • Keeping skincare simple and importantly, consistent My skin type - Super dry with oily T zone But honestly? The BIGGEST thing : PLEASE DRINK WATER 😭 I genuinely think people underestimate how much hydration affects: - acne - dullness - overall glow - and even how “healthy” your skin looks. Like you’ve NO idea how noticeable the difference is when you’re consistently hydrated. I do get random zits at times and that’s when I’m reminded to fix my water intake. 2 days back on track and the pimple disappears 🪄 P.S. Please ignore the “Prada” under my eyes. I’m working a night shift job and barely get enough sleep. On my notice period at the moment, so hopefully I’m able to fix this soon 🤞🏻 submitted by /u/ProcedureAdmirable47 to r/IndianBeautyTalks [link] [comments]

Illa True Skin Serum Foundation
Does anyone actually like this? I bought this from the mega drop shop in a color supposedly for light, cool skin and it’s so orange and dark and it smells horrible. Also it’s so incredibly oily. I don’t even have oily skin and I’m shining like a crystal ball and feel my pores clog the longer I wear it. It’s so bad. It was $20 too so not exactly cheap. I think it has completely oxidized and is essentially unusable even if the color was corrected. submitted by /u/Anna-Bee-1984 to r/Ipsy [link] [comments]

Products which worked for my oily acne-prone skin
Finally decided to share products I use on an everyday or event basis. Setting Sprays CT setting spray - great for everyday use. Keeps my makeup in place. One size setting spray - certified hulas proof makeup when you use this Powders CT powder - only powder which does not cake on me. I can retouch using this and hindi nagbubuo! Makes my pores appear smaller rin. Laura Mercier Setting powder - ang tagal maubos! Works well. Decorte eyeshadow Boosted my confidence! I attended a wedding and just used this and everyone complimented me. With zero eyeshadow skills, I felt that there's no need for me to book a makeup appointment as long as I use this! Haha Concealer Nars pot concealer - hides my acne marks. Previously, I use saem concealer lang but this really made a difference. I can't live without this. Foundations Nars soft matte foundation - holy grail but I heard this will be replaced already. Medium-full coverage Clinique serum foundation- ang ganda! Skin but better plus medium-full coverage na sya. Bought this online tapos sale pa! Dior foundation stick - nakakapanibago kaso mabilis magset and powder like finish. Trying to love this kasi ang mahal but I think mas bagay 'to sa mga flawless na ang skin. Benefit primer - does the job. Makes a difference to hide pores. Blush and highlighter Luckybeauty - sulit for the price. Long lasting Canmake/Cezanne - similar lang and cheap. Not too glittery and parang fresh lang talaga. Rare beauty - very blendable submitted by /u/mangodessert to r/beautytalkph [link] [comments]

Ceramide and niacinamide moisturiser recommendation needed for oily skin + routine feedback
My current routine doesn't include ceramides and enough niacinamide, and I feel that may be a glaring omission. My current moisturiser is the cosrx snail mucin, which I do like, but I think that the moisturiser may be the best place to insert those ingredients into my routine. I have had trouble before with very rich moisturisers, as I have oily skin (particularly on my forehead), and have found that they can leave a film on my skin, exacerbate the shine, and prevent makeup from behaving properly. I'm a big fan of moisturisers that I don't feel on the surface of my skin at all within about half an hour of application. I'm in my late 30s, but young looking, with no major wrinkles, and just a very few fine lines. My issues are some skin texture and uneven skin tone, with some uneven pigmentation on my cheekbones from a previous hormone issue. With the exception of my forehead, my skin gets very dry without the hyaluronic acid serum, which is why I don't want to switch it out for a niacinamide serum. My routine is as follows: Morning -Glycolic acid cleanser (though I have just bought a new ceramide and niacinamide face wash, but unsure if something that I'm rinsing off is adequate application) -swipe of cosrx aha/bha toner -spray water -hyaluronic acid serum (either Nivea or L'Oréal, cost depending) -spray water again -loreal revitalift eye cream -cosrx snail mucin moisturizer -spf when required, currently Garnier super UV with hyaluronic acid. My foundation is also spf50 Night -cleanser -sometimes double cleanse with micellar water if needed -freederm 4% nicotinamide gel when the hyperpigmentation is darker (it fluctuates) -loreal revitalift retinol serum -boots retinol eye cream -cosrx 6 peptide booster -cosrx snail mucin essence -vaseline brand advanced repair body lotion (call me crazy, but I use this on my hands every night, and applied the excess to my face one night when I'd run out of the other moisturiser...haven't looked back) Thanks in advance for any input. submitted by /u/JustLittleMe73 to r/SkincareAddictionUK [link] [comments]

After/Before Makeup
Been super duper insecure about my skin and face more than usual lately, Just thought i’d share some realness with y’all and show the acne/texture/discolouration I have + uneven face in full HDR, and how it looks with makeup on top…. haaaate the texture around my mouth and nose but trying hard to see past it, no amount of foundation or concealer will hide that. It’s just that time of the month where my skin does what it wants no matter what skincare or makeup I do lol. Also am currently using epiduo gel (differin + benzoyl peroxide) for my acne and that causes some dryness as you can see under my nose…. I’ve been struggling with bad oily/acne prone skin all my life and makeup has helped me feel more confident throughout the years! Here’s the list of products I used for this look: Skin Prep •Geek & Gorgeous stress less serum •Geek & Gorgeous Hydration station moisturiser •Cosrx Ultra-Light invisible sunscreen Base • Estée Lauder double wear - 4W1 • L’oreal true match radiant serum concealer - 4N • Kiko Milano sculpting touch creamy stick contour - 202 (used to shade nose + eyelid + cheekbones) • Sheglam Smart cookie palette (I know it’s eyeshadow but sometimes I use the warm shades as a bronzer don’t come for me) • Nyx butter melt blush - my butta half 01 • Maybelline fit me pressed powder - 120 classic ivory (I use a little to set my concealer with a small brush, then use a big kabuki brush of this wherever I get oily) • I am also using a touch of a matte white highlighter I found on amazon on my nose and under my eyebrows Eyebrows + eyes • Maybelline Super lock brow glue - 000 Clear • Kiko Milano eyebrow marker - 04 • Elf instant lift eyebrow pencil - Deep brown • Kissme Heroine Mascara Waterproof - black • Nyx Epic Ink liner - 01 Black • Kiko Milano Colour Kajal Kohl pencil - 03 (used to highlight inner corners) Lips • Maybelline lifter liner - 05 on it • YSL love shine candy glaze - 03 (just in the middle of bottom lip, then I spread it with my finger all around) • I forgot to add a little moisture to my dry azz lips before taking the pictures but I am also using a touch of Sosu Lip Glaze in Almond Butter! I do still need to buy a highlighter and a proper bronzer, I’ve been eyeing haus labs glassy balm highlighter stick in champagne quartz for the highlighter. Do let me know if you’ve tried this! and recs for bronzer that isn’t too red/orange as well if possible :( EDIT: Just want to note that this is not my daily makeup. It is not the cause of my acne OR making it worse. Makeup when applied properly with the right products will sit just fine on top of it. Besides, I go most days without wearing any at all because i’m a hermit that doesn’t like to leave to house :D and when I do, it depends what situation i’m about to be in and i’ll match my makeup to that. I would wear heavy makeup like this more for a night out, date, if i feel like it or if i’m even bothered. This shit takes at least 40 mins lmao. My go to if I wanna look alive is my eyebrow + eye combo and elf plums up lip tint on my lip and cheek submitted by

Why is my makeup doing this?
I used moisturizer, primer, foundation, and setting powder. My makeup looks like it’s…peeling?? It’s all off brand stuff, so I’m guessing that has something to do with it. I’m willing to buy new stuff, even though shade matching gives me anxiety. I also don’t want to break the bank on new products. My main goal is to minimize pores, have a smoother finish, and cover any impurities or imperfections. I have combination skin, with my oily areas being my forehead, nose, and cheekbones. Thanks in advance! ETA: for those of you saying it’s because my face is dry or I don’t have a proper skincare routine, that’s not correct. I’m actually quite particular about my skincare. I use a high end face wash, toner, serums, moisturizer, and exfoliate once a week. My skin ONLY looks like this when I put face makeup on. Thanks to those who are teaching me about different products. I never had someone who taught me things and it’s basically been learn as I go type thing. I’m excited to try the different products recommended to me submitted by /u/Ok_Salad_7865 to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

I didn't want to pay $95 for the Clarins Double Serum Foundation so I went home to MacGyver something together ... this is what happened.
Hi. Hello. I know you are used to hearing from me regarding hair care, but today I wish to speak on the subject of lust. Specifically, the lust for a new foundation. But first - a little backstory. I used to have hideously oily, acne prone skin. To the point where I'm surprised BP or Caltex didn't turn up wanting to investigate my face as a future drilling site. Which is a shame, because I could have used the money quite frankly. My skin was so oily throughout my 20's that I could only use powder foundation, as a liquid foundation would get broken down and destroyed within a couple of hours of application. Anyway. I started using a prescription retinoid (tretinoin 0.05%) in my early 30's for my acne. It also served the purpose of drying my face out just enough to allow me to go hog wild in the world of liquid foundation. Fast forward five or so years and now I'm on tazarotene 0.1% cream that I have to have compounded by a specialist pharmacy in QLD. Combine somewhat drier skin and the encroaching winter months, and I began to lust after my dream winter skin foundation. Light coverage. Practically glossy with dew. Just enough pigment to even out my skin tone and reduce any redness. I wanted the sort of skin that speaks of a relentless skin care routine, adequate water intake and what is undoubtedly a luxury foundation. Except I'm supposed to be fiscally responsible this month. Which is what made my trip to Myer today to pick up some Click & Collect so hard. I saw it. The object of my lust and desire. The Clarins Double Serum foundation. Gag me, I wanted it BAD. But I didn't even let myself touch it. I knew sampling a little pump on the back of my hand would lead to shade matching, and shade matching would lead to buying. I walked past the display as fast I could, and probably seemed quite rude to the sales ladies who were trying to offer me samples of some sort of perfume. I'm sorry ma'am - I just had to flee from the siren song of temptation. I was picking up another Click & Collect order in Priceline (stocking up on my beloved Garnier Pineapple Hair Drink after I used up my last bottle) when the inspiration struck. I have been trialling the L'Oreal dupe for the Clarins Double Serum for a week or so after picking it up in a half price sale at Priceline. I could always try mixing it with my foundations at home to see if it gave me the effect I was looking for. I won't lie - I didn't RUN home. But I certainly did power walk. I got home, put my shopping away and grabbed a few supplies - the L'Oreal Le Duo Serum, my bottle of Maybelline Super Stay Lumi-Matte foundation in the shade 128 and my little pump tube of NYX Bare With Me Concealer in the shade Medium Vanilla. I cracked open my bag of Shop Miss A beauty blenders for a fresh sponge, and got to work. Feeling much like a make up MacGyver, I pumped out one pump of the Le Duo Serum and one pump of the Lumi-Matte foundation on the back of my hand. I mixed them together, and dotted the mixture all over my face, blending with my damp sponge. I then applied a few dabs of the NYX Bare With Me concealer around my eyes and blended with a sponge. And YA'LL. I don't mean to brag but my skin looked pretty damn fucking perfect, considering I had just come in from being outside and was a bit red and shiny. This combination looks absolutely amazing on the skin. I haven't done a full day wear test yet, but the initial application was so encouraging I had to run straight over to this sub to report my findings. So if you too are lusting after the Clarins Double Serum Foundation and are trying to be responsible this month ... I highly suggest making your way over to Priceline and grabbing a bottle of the Le Duo serum and mixing it in with your foundation of choice ... you just might find that you already have everything you need. submitted by /u/phantompath to r/AustralianMakeup [link] [comments]

Foundation for Sensitive/Reactive Pale/Red Skin
Hey! I'm looking for a new foundation after realizing just how sensitive and reactive my skin is. I am very pale and have always run red, even orange compared to my neck. I want a foundation that is non-irritating, soothing, calming and doesn't have ingredients that will create more inflammation, like fragrance or even niacinamide. I used Nars in shade Light and do like the coverage but want other suggestions specifically formulated for my skin issues. My skin is dry but gets fairly oily once I have makeup on. I also wear a mask all day so I'd like something that soaks into my skin vs sits on top, and nothing too heavy, more like a serum or BB/CC cream would probably be better! Recs I've already seen are for It Cosmetics, Clinique Redness correcting, and Eborian CC cream :) submitted by /u/bones_n_brains to r/Rosacea [link] [comments]

fav skin tint/light foundation for combo/oily skin?
I've been using Danessa Myricks yummy skin serum tint for a few months and, while I like the formula mostly, I wish it was everrr so slightly more coverage, and also just not quite the perfect shade match for me. It also tends to rub off a bit during the day and I'll notice little areas where I've scratched or something. I'm looking for something on the more medium side of coverage but still looks like skin. Thank you in advance! Editing to add: I went and tested a few of these suggestions today and ended up with Ciele! It’s such a beautiful tint and shade 2 was an easy match for me. The sales associate made me a sample and I went home to put it on a clean face and it wore so well for the rest of the day without powder or anything else! We also tested the Dior foundation stick for extra spot coverage which was gorgeous but we couldn’t find the perfect shade for me (I’m a tricky neutral). submitted by /u/Chaptera to r/Sephora [link] [comments]

Best lightweight skin tint or foundation for dry skin?
Hi! I have dry skin and I’m looking for a lightweight foundation that actually lasts on the skin and doesn’t disappear after just a few hours. I’ve been considering these: -Covergirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation -Versed Skin Solution Multi-Serum Skin Tint -e.l.f. Halo Glow Skin Tint -Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation I’ve also thought about the Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint, but I’ve seen that it’s formulated more for oily skin and doesn’t perform as well on dry skin. I’ve heard amazing things about the L’Oréal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum, but from the reviews I’ve seen, even the lightest shade looks too dark for my very fair (Casper-level) skin. Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts? Which one would you recommend? submitted by /u/NobodyIsAnnG to r/drugstoreMUA [link] [comments]

Foundation Was Too Heavy for Me - I Tested Skin Tints Until I Found the Ones That Look Natural
I reached a point where the traditional foundation just felt too heavy. Even the ones labelled lightweight looked like makeup when I didn’t want to look overly done. So I started exploring skin tints and tinted moisturizers to see if I could build a minimalist base routine that still made me look even and awake. Turns out, finding the right skin tint is its own journey. Some made me look oily. Some pilled over sunscreen. Some disappeared completely. Some clung to dry patches. Here’s how I tested them and what actually worked. 1. What I needed from a skin tint I wrote down what I wanted before testing: • Light coverage • Natural finish • No clinging to dryness • Easy blending • Works over sunscreen • Stays comfortable all day I wasn't looking for full coverage. Just something to even out my skin. 2. The first round of testing I started with: • L’Oréal True Match Tinted Serum • NYX Bare With Me Skin Tint • Morphe Glowstunner These gave me: Pros: • Easy to blend • Looked more natural than foundation Cons: • Some settled around the nose • An oily sheen by 3–4 hours • One pilled over sunscreen 3. Tinted moisturizers weren’t as easy as I thought Tinted moisturizers look hydrating but can be tricky. What I noticed: • Some turned greasy • Some pilled on top of sunscreen • Some made my pores look larger But they looked more radiant than skin tints. 4. Sunscreen compatibility matters This shocked me. The wrong sunscreen makes any base look bad. Mineral sunscreens made my skin tint patchy. Gel sunscreens worked the best. Good top-layer behavior: • Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun • La Roche-Posay Melt-In Milk • Neutrogena HydroBoost SPF 5. Application technique decides everything Brush vs sponge vs fingers - huge difference. • Brush gave too much coverage • Fingers created slight streaks • Damp sponge = smoothest finish 6. What didn’t work at all • Matte skin tints (looked dry) • Applying powder on top • Using too many skincare layers • Trying to build too much coverage Skin tints look best when kept simple. 7. The skin tints that behaved the best Not recommendations, just examples: A. L’Oréal Tinted Serum Light, smooth, natural. Slightly glowy. B. NYX Bare With Me Hydrating and forgiving on texture. C. ColourPop Pretty Fresh Great on normal to dry skin. 8. What looked the most natural The combination that worked consistently: • Gel sunscreen • A single thin layer of tint • Liquid blush • Minimal powder (or no powder) That’s it. 9. What surprised me Skin tints actually look better after an hour of wear. They settle into the skin and look more natural over time. Community question If you use skin tints daily, which formula looks closest to real skin for you? Still searching for the perfect everyday one. submitted by /u/Juhezmane to r/BeautyRecommendation [link] [comments]

Swatches from my quest to find a serum foundation for my neutral-cool skin
I've been trying to find a serum-like foundation and that doesn't feel heavy on my skin and an undereye concealer to match. I have combination skin that's extremely oily in the t-zone and dry on my cheeks. I've been matched at different stores and as you can see, that has wildly different results lol Face swatches (from left to right): - Lisa Eldridge T3 - Pat McGrath L1 - outside in serum foundation 040 - this is surprisingly really pink, like nars oslo - nars Oslo - nars vanilla concealer - fenty 100c I loved the texture and luminous look of the Victoria Beckham foundation but it's unfortunately too scented for me. I think my second favorite texture-wise is going to be the Outside In, which feels really light and looks really radiant. The Lisa Eldridge also feels really light, but is much lighter coverage. submitted by /u/dogmom_123 to r/PaleMUA [link] [comments]

is there a way to get this foundation to work for dry skin?
i’ve never tried this foundation before but i’ve eyed it for many years. i’ve been hesitant to try it because i heard it’s for more for oily skin. i have very dry skin and i tend to stay far away from matte foundations because i don’t like looking dry and cakey. are there any dry skin people here who use this foundation?? i was thinking maybe i could mix it would a serum so that its not so heavy? submitted by /u/kaden356 to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

FAE BEAUTY SKIN TINT/SERUM FOUNDATION - THE SEXY REVIEW
hello beautiful people! Thank you to the people who interacted with me on my last post here - it was helpful to know what all you wanted me to look out for! I will try to address the questions that were raised in the last post. Hope this helps you make an informed choice. TESTING CONDITIONS every fair test needs to expand upon its testing conditions. Here's what I was working with - medium-neutral olive skintone. closest foundation match: estee lauder double wear in cashew oily-combination skin. heavy acne scarring. weather: cloudy, cool, not very muggy or humid, plenty of sun. no primer. my regular primer is the danessa myricks yummy skin blurring balm, because its the only product that can control my oil production. Yes, I am that oily. But I thought it will be a good idea to test the product without a primer. why? for three reasons. average consumer doesn't wear primer in their day to day ideally, a skin tint shouldn't need a primer. i wanted to see how the product would perform against my oily skin without the help of danessa. I applied the product using my fingers as well as a makeup brush. SKIN TINT OR FOUNDATION? the formula doesn't quite know what it wants to do on the packaging that i received, the product is named "super serum skin tint" whereas on the website, it is called the face card serum foundation. this inconsistency is the cornerstone of this product. it doesn't know whether it wants to be a skin tint or a foundation. to be clear, the product is more foundation than skin tint. it's thick and goopy (and it gets everywhere!!) and when it goes on the skin, it lays down very much like an oily, heavy foundation. This isn't a negative thing, necessarily - but I fear for those of us who wanted rare beauty at fae beauty prices will have to keep looking. Full disclosure, I expected a skin tint and am on the hunt for a skin TINT. I have plenty of foundations and don't really need another one. THE SERUM PROBLEM - DO WE REALLY NEED MORE NIACINAMIDE? I'm copying this directly from the fae beauty website. this is what their marketing material claims Niacinamide (0.5%) - Brightens, refines pores, strengthens barrier Kakadu Plum (2%) - Contains the highest recorded natural concentration of Vitamin C - up to 100x more than an orange. To Brighten dull skin and boost radiance. Fade dark spots & acne pigmentation. Liquorice Extract (0.2%) - To calm inflammation and redness. Moringa Oil (0.5%) - Nourishes & protects against pollution Amino Acids (0.5%) - Help maintain hydration & skin resilience Hybrid SPF system - SPF 15 - Protects from sun damage I have a huge problem with niacinamide and other heavy hitter actives being in makeup products, because they don't suit everybody. The other major issue is, the actives present in this formulation are too little to actually have any benefit. you're never going to put enough skin tint on your face to have the full effect of niacinamide. and 2% vitamin C... give me a break? 2% is nothing. so what we have here is all these actives getting wasted in the formula, because they're too little to have tangible benefits. but at the same time, they are present and may cause allergic reactions to skin types that are more sensitive. This is a big problem with the sciencification of makeup. In order to make up for past wrongs, we have pivoted too hard in the other direction. We're putting niacinamide in everything, and it really needs to fucking stop. UPON IMMEDIATELY APPLYING... I noticed that it goes on incredibly oily. like, very oily. I wonder if the moringa oil is doing overtime here or if there's some other ingredients here that that is a heavy hitter. I am not a cosmetic chemist, so maybe someone else can weigh in. From what I can tell, in their effort to make the product look dewy, they have added some heavy hitter silicone products, in addition to the kakadu plum oil and the moringa oil. My first application, it was a little disconcerting to have a product this oily on my face. I thought I was applying it wrong, because the excess oil made it difficult to see if I'd blended the product properly. After going in with my hands, I also went in with a dense foundation brush to blend it. Didn't help. I decided to let the product dry on my face, before going in with the rest of my products. IT TOOK ONE HOUR FOR THE FOUNDATION TO DRY DOWN, the oiliness of the product began to settle. Just to give it an additional boost - I topped it with some huda beauty powder (shade kunafa) in the more oily areas of my face. After the powdering, it started looking more skin-like and dewy rather than just oily. If you do buy this product and plan to use it, i would recommend starting your makeup atleast two hours before you are to go somewhere, because even with my oiliness, it took the foundation quite a bit of time to truly settle into my skin. After my hour, I put some products on top. mac gingerly blush milk makeup contour nars soft matte concealer + estee lauder double wear concealer nyx i know that's bright palette. milani make it last dewy setting spray huda beauty easy bake powder MAC glossy liner - root for me MAC lustreglass alone time MAC kajal CLIO long curling mascara the products settled well and didn't pill or react immediately. I'm a little shy about putting my face on reddit but my makeup looked fly as heck (my girlfriends said so!). other than the milk contour, I would recommend all these products. anyway, back to the review. DID IT OXIDISE? yes. here i took the two photographs against the same window, and roughly the same angle. today, in my city, the weather has fluctuated and sunlight has been more or less steady. if you notice the two photos, it kind of looks like I've had a slightly bad tan in the second pic. does it look terrible? no. i went out and it was fine. not oompa loompa orange. but while purchasing, I would probably buy one shade below. of course, this is slightly difficult for me because the shade directly below my shade 31N, is 30N which has a "peach undertone". Most decidedly, peach is not my undertone. I'll just save money and go for rare beauty. DID IT PILL? no. here there was no pilling, caking or flaking. in fact, it blended most beautifully with my other products, to give a really nice glow. you'll notice under my eye, there's a slight fading and feathering. it looks like it is clinging to the dryness, but that's because i have run out of eyecream and my undereyes were crusty as hell. overall, as far as pilling goes, it has performed well given i didn't put any primer. IS IT TRANSFER PROOF? yes, somewhat. after it is on the face, there's slight transfer before it dries. but once its dry its pretty much not moving from your face. WHAT TYPE OF SKIN WILL IT SUIT? if you are someone who dislikes the oily feeling, it will not suit you. it may be best suited for dry skin, but to be very fair I didn't notice any substantial issues on my oily combi skin. I will say, if you have sensitive skin, its best to avoid because of the heavy hitter actives, the oils and the pore clogging silicones. DID IT COVER ACNE SCARRING? ohohoho, here's my time to shine. if there's any type of acne scarring out there in the world, I most likely have it. you can check out the pics I've put above, and judge for yourselves. Here are my thoughts - it wont cover the icepick, boxcar and rolling scars. it will cover some hyper-pigmentation and marks. think of it as your average medium-low coverage foundation. you can use it to even out the skin, not necessarily cover. use your colour correctors. HOW LONG DID IT LAST? It's about 75% gone from my skin after a good 4.5 hours. I actually don't like long wearing products, and to be fair - I did not use primer. I suppose with primer it would have lasted full 8 hours as they claim, though that's hard to say. I am super oily, haha. So, not a minus for me. OTHER SKIN TINTS? since this is a foundation, I think its unfair to compare it to the house of makeup skin tint - which is the only other skin tint that is being created by an indian brand. however, I will say - the house of makeup one is a true-blue skin tint. its a runny, beautiful formulation that sits very well on the skin. If you can find your shade in the house of makeup skin tint - go for that one. why i say "find your shade" ?- because you may find it difficult to. their medium m10 is NEON ORANGE on me. they have completely fucked up undertones. difficult to figure out which shade to buy using their website images. however, i have dear friends who have found their shades and are VERY HAPPY with the product. I'm just unlucky. such is life. SPEAKING OF UNDERTONES... I truly don't think the fae team understands undertones. They have marketed their shades as "olive" and "warm" and "cool" but I found it highly strange that no matter what I put, it all seemed orange on me. for reference, I tried shades in the medium skin range (40N, 30N, 31N, 41O, 42N, 32W) - i don't have images, but frankly don't think I need them either. just go on the website and observe their own images. the neutrals are very orange. the warms are even more orange. the cool will likely be peach. if you want to understand what olive foundations should look like, look no further than about face beauty - which i consider the gold standard for actually olive foundations. the difference will astound you. this isn't to shit on fae, atleast they're mentioning olive. but, be warned. you may need blue color corrector. LA Girl has a good one. FINAL THOUGHTS good marketing, terrible execution. I am more forgiving of FAE than I am of other brands, because I do think their brand ethos is very clever. they identified a gap in the market and are now having a lot of fun in it. I do wish the marketing would be backed up by solid products. unfortunately this hasn't been the case for the foundation. I am not a fae hater. I like the lip whip and the brown kajal. but the products have been inconsistent across the board. The lip liner fades after 20 minutes, lets not even talk about the gloss. Unfortunately for me, the foundation is another miss. Given the oiliness, the work it took to make it work for me (one hour wait is far too much) and the oxidation, I don't know if I am willing to spend 1000 rupees on the product. I can just mix moisturiser into my estee lauder and make a skin tint that doesn't give me so much trouble. hunt for a good skin tint continues... https://preview.redd.it/02r2pbg4zwtf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=1754de868819451c6fac35e37eeb7ab5a17112a9 submitted by /u/SexyFoodandFilms to r/IndianBeautyTalks [link] [comments]

HG tinted moisturizer or light foundation "your skin but better" for sensitive skin—without crazy glowy?
I just need a little extra oomph to blur age spots and spider veins at 42. I tried Nars Tinted Moisturizer in Alaska and WOW perfect...but it burns! I also tried Ilia Skin Tint—way too glowy. And their serum foundation—broke me straight out. Non-comodogenic? Not oxidizing? What do you less-is-more peeps love? My skin tone is light-medium warm skewing quite yellow / golden. I prefer a skin-like or lightly glowy finish, no matte and no super glow. My skin is balanced, but our climate is dry—more likely to skew dry than be oily. I'm fine with paying $50 or $60 for the right thing. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/greysunlightoverwash to r/Makeup [link] [comments]

My skincare routine for my "youre not wearing foundation???" skin
Ive been asked this question and even more recently, I've noticed my skin being exceptionally clear, bright, and smooth. I know ymmv with skincare but I thought someone could benefit from knowing my routine! Age: 31, tret user. previously oily skin, now dry. Breakout-prone Skin type: I'm not too sure about the Fitzptrick scale but.... I'm Armenian with pale skin, dark hair. I don't tan super easily but I can tan both with and without burning. So...type 2 I think? For anyone who takes it really seriously. Coastal North American climate. I have many allergies/sensitivities to ingredients, so most extracts make me react. Keep in mind that means my routine will be limited to products. I'm even allergic to Centella, so do with this information what you will. I don't regularly wear makeup aside from eyeliner and lip, sometimes blush if I feel fancy. Cleanser: When using makeup or sunscreen, I first cleanse with the Kose Softymo speedy cleansing oil. Nothing much to say here, I'm actually allergic to squalane, but this doesn't make my skin react. I don't wear waterproof makeup, so if I am wearing anything, this cleanser does a good job. Nothing too special to note, a very basic and affordable cleanser. Second cleanse: Belif Aqua Jelly Bomb Cleanser. I used to not really care about cleansers, I knew some were better than others, but felt that as long as it wasn't too stripping, it was probably fine. I happened to buy this at a Winners (like a TJ/TK maxx) and had it sit on a shelf until I finished my other cleansers. Once I started using this, after about a few days, I noticed my skin was so much clearer, softer, and brighter! Claims to be hydrating, but since it is a cleanser, I don't know how much it will make a difference in that regard. My skin does feel slightly less dry, maybe like 1-2% but as a tret user, I wouldn't expect this to make a huge difference. But wowee, is my skin ever soft and glowing. 5/5 Toner: Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner: The first time I started using this, my skin became so much softer. My friend even touched my skin and went "oh your skin is surprisingly soft" (I was going through a breakout at the time). I can't say it does much for hydration, but its softening power is real. 5/5 Celimax Dual Barrier Creamy Toner: Bought this because my skin was going through an insane bought of dryness and I thought a milky toner would help, and I'm sensitive/allergic to pretty much every other milky toner's extracts and plant ingredients. As I said, my skin was intensely dry when I bought this, so maybe many people can't relate, but although it added hydration, it still wasn't enough by itself to fully satisfy me. I don't blame the toner, it did a good job, but my skin was a level of dry it simply had never been before. However, since Ive used this regularly, my skin has gotten much healthier. My skin loves ceramides, and I've started layering this toner for more hydration. I use 1-2 layers during my toner stage, let it sink in and then move on to serums, and then I'll add one more layer before heading to the creams. I'm sad that the bottle is kind of small, though, for the price (Approx $20 CAD for 150 mL on Stylevana rn). I want to rate it a 5 but the size makes me sad so I won't. Serums: Melano CC Vitamin C essence. I've been using this for a couple months now. Non-greasy, and I feel it did a good job at helping to fad dark spots. For my dark acne marks however, this is not enough on its own. I do feel that due to continued use and in combination with my other products, it helps with the glow. But I do love that its a Vitamin C serum that won't break me out and doesn't seem to oxidize. I dont really know how to rate this, 4.5/5? IUNIK Beta-Glucan Power Moisture serum. Apparently this went through a viral moment? I never really saw that myself, but someone mentioned it on this subreddit so I gave it a shot due to the intense dryness I mentioned earlier, after the Celimax toner wasn't solving it by itself. It's very clear and applies well, a little thicker than regular serums. Did it change my skin entirely? No. Was my skin healed from its dry curses? Also no. Did I feel a little bit better with it? Yes. I like the texture and that it won't break me out, however the stopper is really wierd. Not Sure if its just my specific bottle, but after a certain point, it became hard to get a seal for the dropper so it wouldnt suck up the product. Now I have to finagle it a little to get it to suck it up from the bottle. But I want to rate just the product, not the bottle bc I feel like its unfair to rate the actual product and its effects for skin bc of a physical bottle issue. After continued use, I feel like my skin is a little stronger, maybe plumper. 4/5 Cream: Cerave Moisturizing Cream. Non-AB so I won't spend too much time talking about it. It made my skin stronger For SURE. 100%. I feel the structure is much stronger and healthier after using this cream. And even so, I hate this cream so much. I hate it. I hate it SO much. The texture feels gross to me, but the part that makes me hate it, is that it does not moisturize at all. It doesn't even lock in the moisture that was already there. After applying it during the day, my skin will be dry a few hours later so I have to either mist my face, or re-apply toner and cream. I've literally never had a cream that acted like this. I'm still going to repurchase it because of how strong it made my skin, but I hate it so much, and cannot use it on its own. I apply for the ceramide effects, not the """"moisture"""" effects. 2/5 overall, 0/5 for hydration or moisture. but 6/5 for the health of my skin. Round Lab Dokdo cream: I re-started using this after I realized the Cerave one was trash-y. I had to stop using it for a while, because I think my skin does not like Shea Butter. Unfortunately, I do break out when I use this, but only surface-level pustules. Do with that what you will, I just scratch them to pop them. I have to trade-off on whether I want to deal with dryness, or the pustules. 50% of the time I'll choose the pus. Sorry for saying "pus" so many times. When I use this, my skin feels much more hydrated than the Cerave Cream, although I'd say its more about locking in the existing moisture that the serums and creams added, rather than adding any moisture itself. 3.5-4/5. Sunscreen: Non-AB, won't say much. Garnier Ombrelle for Kids. Doesn't leave a white cast, but leaves a dewy glow. Unfortunately, I have not found an AB spf that doesn't severely break me out. The closest one was the P Calm Water Barrier Sun Cream, but even that makes me react. However, I would recommend that one because I loooved the experience of using it, leaves the skin dewy and the texture was beautiful. So there you have it! Feel free to share your experience with any of these products, recommend any others, or an spf (hopefully with no plant ingredients?). I hope this helps someone! submitted by /u/spikechild to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

Skin Aqua Serum UV – Alcohol-Free, Fragrance-Free, No White Cast, and Surprisingly Lightweight for Oily Skin!
Hey everyone! I wanted to share a review of the Skin Aqua Serum UV SPF50 because wow, this sunscreen really surprised me in the best way. This is my second time trying a Skin Aqua sunscreen, and I wasn’t expecting to love this one as much as I do. My first was the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Barrier Gel, and that one didn’t work for me at all. I have oily skin and live in the very humid climate of the Philippines, so the greasy finish of that gel just felt uncomfortable, especially for outdoor use. 🌟 Product Claims (from Ratzilla) - SPF50+ PA++++ - Water-resistant (up to 80 minutes) - Lightweight, watery serum texture - Designed for dry, sensitive skin - Alcohol-free, fragrance-free, paraben-free, mineral oil-free 🌟 My Experience (Oily Skin + Humid Climate) - This may be marketed toward dry skin, but as someone with oily skin, I LOVED the light, hydrating feel. - Texture is super watery, spreads like a dream, very similar to Skin Aqua Super Moisture Barrier Gel and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence. - No alcohol scent, no fragrance whatsoever. - No stinging on the eyes or face. - Dries down surprisingly fast for something alcohol-free. - Leaves a dewy but not greasy finish. It’s a healthy glow and not the sticky, heavy kind of dewiness. If you’re someone who dislikes any kind of glow, this might not be for you. - What shocked me most: no greasy film after it dries down! Looks dewy but definitely doesn't feel like I have grease sitting on top of my skin. - Wore beautifully under my non-AB Make Up For Ever (natural-matte) foundation. It gave it a subtle glow that looked radiant but still held up throughout the day. I personally liked the glow, but if you prefer a fully matte or natural base, keep that in mind. - I even wore it to the gym with heavy sweating and it still felt like it held on decently. Just a note: this isn’t marketed as a hardcore outdoor sunscreen, so use with care if you’ll be under intense sun for hours. - Another big plus: no need for an oil cleanser to remove it. I just used my regular gentle foaming cleanser and it came off easily. 💭 Final Thoughts I’m honestly so impressed by this sunscreen. I didn’t expect to love it especially since it’s meant for dry skin but it totally worked for my oily skin in hot, humid weather. Compared to my other gel-type sunscreens, I actually like this more than both Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence 2025 reformulation and Kose Suncut UV Perfect Gel for everyday use. Kose Suncut is still my go-to for all-day outdoor activities, but this Skin Aqua Sunscreen is an amazing everyday option especially if you want something comfy, elegant, and non-irritating. submitted by /u/AtTheUngodlyHour to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

41F skin seems best at this age
I’ve had problematic skin since I was a teen and it’s not until I reached my 40s that it’s actually playing ball now. Has anyone else found this too? Took long enough! I found this routine and ditching the foundation has helped loads. Carbon theory charcoal cleansing bar The body shop camomile cleansing butter The ordinary copper peptide serum ROC multi correxion vitamin c serum Neutrogena 0.5% salicylic acid moisturiser Neutrogena 7% aha liquid exfoliant (great cheaper dupe for Paula’s Choice) Cerave retinol serum once a week Instead of foundation I now use Dr Jart’s Cicapair and whatever random concealer I have with a translucent setting powder to stop the oiliness. I suffer from RBF 😂 so get regular botox for frown lines and I’m looking into co2 laser for under my eyes and an upper bleph soon. I’ve noticed my eyes in particular are looking way more tired at this age. I’ve got a really square jaw so was contemplating masseter botox but been told this can cause jowls so think I’ll avoid that one! submitted by /u/crystalyzex to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Best Products for Common Skin Concerns Series: OILY SKIN and ACNE
Second in my series aimed at compiling recommendations offered from members of the AB community for addressing common skin concerns. If you missed it, the first of the series can be found here: ROSACEA, REDNESS, and IRRITATION Products, tips, or advice that come up frequently will be listed in bold. I have grouped everything that's toner -> ampoule since the lines can get kind of blurry in those categories, and oil-based and foaming cleansers are also grouped. I have included Western products in order to be inclusive of the advice found on this subreddit. I have tried to place those items lower on the list in each category to give prominence to Asian items, given the nature of this sub. Please feel free to add to the comments - if you see your HG for acne isn't listed, tell me! I would love for this to be a working document that is edited as needed, so we can also consider converting into a similar format as it exists over on r/SkinCareAddiction PLEASE NOTE: What follows is a compilation of the advice given on this subreddit to address conditions associated with cystic and comedonal acne and breakouts. It is not a substitute for medical advice or the advice of a dermatologist, nor are they indicative of my own preferences or what I would personally advise. Before trying any new product, it behooves you to check ingredient lists, take note of personal or individual sensitivities, patch test, and introduce only one new product at a time. IF YOU HAVE A FEVER, SEVERE HEADACHE OR NECK STIFFNESS, EYE IRRITATION, LIP OR OTHER FACIAL SWELLING, PLEASE LEAVE THE INTERNET AND SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION FROM A HUMAN BEING. IN PERSON. For those of you experiencing hormonal outbreaks, its important to communicate this with your healthcare provider. Hormonal acne may be a sign of other endocrine/hormonal issues that should be evaluated by a medical professional. Please do not rely on Dr. Internet for addressing issues of hormonal imbalance. Another Note: This list proved quite difficult to compile, given that many contributors with oily/acne-prone skin are using multiple actives and/or retinoids to treat their skin. As such, many use products to restore a depleted moisture barrier that may prove far too heavy for someone with oily skin who is NOT using these treatments. I strongly urge use of this list merely as a starting point, and advise looking at the original threads for additional details. In the meantime, I do plan on doing a separate post for "tretface," overexfoliation, or an otherwise damaged moisture barrier, so stay tuned! It can be easy to want a quick fix, but most products that address acne or problem skin take TIME and consistency. Remember even if you are generally acne free, you can still get a breakout now and then and it doesn't mean the products have failed. It's better to look at acne in an overall general improvement kind of way, rather than all or nothing, otherwise you are going to feel like you're failing constantly (u/TrishBrennan) Make sure to rule out dehydration/compromised moisture barrier as the cause of your acne. Acne can be caused by many things (diet, allergy, hormones, even fungus!) but the easiest version to cure is the one caused by dehydrated, overworked skin. (u/Daheep) Be careful to avoid overexfoliation, which can make your acne worse. Many acne patients, especially those familiar with the classic Western medical approach to acne can be over-exuberant with their exfoliators, leading to a compromised moisture barrier, which can lead to more reactive skin. The AB (and in many ways, SCA) approach is far more gentle, aiming to treat acne-prone skin with hydration and only using as much exfoliation as necessary. Stop all other actives when starting prescription acne treatments, namely chemical exfoliants or any other potentially irritating parts of your routine. Make sure you have a solid base routine with a good moisturizer before starting prescription treatment, as many prescriptions can rapidly and drastically deplete your moisture barrier. A healthy moisture barrier is critical to clear skin. Sometimes it's not about ADDING something, but about ELIMINATING an offending ingredient. Try to identify what products and ingredients help your skin and which seem to make it worse. Sometimes acne can actually be irritation in disguise. If starting a retinoid/rx medication/AHA, USE SUNSCREEN Many ABers will swear by techniques and approaches that may seem counter-intuitive to the unintitiated, such as using oil cleansers as a first step, applying facial oils, and moisturizing the skin. People with oily skin general fear oils in most of their forms, so it can be difficult to feel comfortable applying oils to the face or moisturizing creams. That feeling is normal, feel free to try different suggestions and techniques depending on comfort level, but try to keep an open mind. Check your make up application tools (brushes, Beauty Blender) - these may be a source of bacteria and mold that could be at the route of your skin problems. Make sure you wash these tools thoroughly and regularly and let dry completely between uses. Sanitize your cell phone Change your pillow case twice a week or use a t-shirt over your pillow Use new face towel every day Avoid picking or touching your face (hydrocolloid patches can help with this) Practice positive affirmations If you want to truly mimic how they do things in Korea, go see a dermatologist, especially one that specializes in aesthetic dermatology. Koreans are much more likely to see a dermatologist for even minor breakouts. Of course, accessibility and affordability are an issue for many, so of course, this may be easier said than done. Get some sleep already! EDITORIAL COMMENT This is the topic that is probably covered the most thoroughly here on Reddit, giving that the demographic likely skews younger. After reading through thousands of comments and posts on this topic, the major takeaway for the AB approach to acne is to use an Asian-style routine (double cleansing, multiple hydrating layers, gentle approach, use of whitening/brightening products that also have anti-inflammatory effects) in conjunction with prescription medications. Retinoid based treatments can be very harsh on the skin's moisture barrier, and lucky for those of us who are AB enthusiasts, we have multiple tools at our disposal to replenish lost hydration and provide the necessary occlusion to keep that moisture in the skin. While you can of course try maxing out your OTC exfoliation, the fastest route to clear skin is very likely going to be to see a dermatologist, and then using your AB routine to deal with the aftermath. Many, many respondents have said that the single most effective change that cleared their acne was seeing a dermatologist Sources Acne prone ABers: What product has made the biggest difference in your acne HG Products for Acne Scares Combination Skin What do Koreans use for acne?
