Looking for help with a bathroom renovation problem. I've just had a gut remodel of my primary bathroom. No plumbing was moved, all the same footprint. My contractor's plumbing sub has struggled from the beginning, lots of issues with his finish work and some of the choices he's made. The latest issue is the shower. He did some repair work that required removing the handheld hose from the pipe, and the result was that pipe dope clogged the shower head, blocked it, and that had to be cleaned out. But every since I've had an issue with that shower head continually dripping, very slowly but consistently for hours after use. I am being told by the contractor and plumber that this is "normal," but I know that a wet shower floor 12 hours after the shower was last used is not normal. The plumber came back today and opened everything up, found a bit more pipe dope in the hand held head, but otherwise found no issues. My research tells me that it could be a faulty cartridge in the main valve allowing a small amount of water to seep through. I would have to insist that they replace the cartridge, as I'm fighting the "it's normal" uphill battle. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? I have a 60” wall to accommodate a 3 way diverter valve, shower head and handheld shower on a bar plus a niche and I’m having trouble with the spacing. Door will be on the left hand side. Should I put the valve closer to door with the rain head further in? Google searching says 12-18” between shower head and handheld. I’d also like the niche at least a foot wide and taller vertically. My CPA/numbers brain is getting the best of me and I think I’m over analyzing this! Contractor is asking where I want everything and I’m stuck. Addressing this right off the riff but these are the lengths i went to try and make my Jolie shower head "work". It did for about a week until my anxiety took over and I took it down bc although I am 5'2 and not likely to bump into it and knock it down, perhaps gravity would take its toll and I wouldnt be able to shower ever again due to death by shower head falling on me (maybe. or id just be seriously injured and have to live w that, embarrassing way to go regardless). So i am here to ask for some advice on an alternative (last pic) (if you have other filter suggestions pls Imk). I rent, l am not able to have a shower head installed (even though other units have it… is that weird?), my water is very hard, and since i moved in 2 years ago, i have been losing a lot of hair/my skin is horrible. UPDATE: The solution was teflon tape! I did 10 wraps around and that gave me the wiggle room I needed to get it to sit straight. I am having the dumbest problem ever and I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong or how to fix it! 😭 I have an AquaBliss shower filter + dual shower head with a handheld attachment. I moved and am trying to install it in my new bathroom and no matter what I do, the handheld arm keeps pointing the wrong direction so that the handheld attachment would fall out. See attached picture... Both the AquaBliss and the shower head have to be fully tightened down or they leak, and no matter what point I start to screw them on from, the handheld arm is always pointing down instead of to the side. Firstly, sorry if there are mistakes, English isn't my first language and I know nothing about this line of work, but this is my last resort. For about 4+ weeks the faucet in my bathtub, handheld shower head and the kitchen faucet have been electrically charged. This happened around the time that out building changed the pipes in all the bathrooms. Before they were all metallic pipes that had the grounding wrapped around them, but they created a new line with plastic pipes, with old metallic pipes connected to the water supply being changed. After that the metallic surfaces prior mentioned were electrically charged. For more context, a bit before this we had a problem with the boiler. Our boiler is inside the bathroom above the bathtub. Basically, the thermoregulator and the heater were broken so it would overheat if left turned on for too long. We called an electrician for it and it got fixed. A couple of week after that we changed the pipes. We did call other electricians after to check what may be the reason for the charge, but they all said it was fine. Tomorrow we are planning to go ask if maybe there had been some issues that is at the house of the neighbor's vertical to us that may be causing this. Does anyone know what can be the cause of it? Anything you can suggest? I'm in the market for a new, powerful shower head for the bathroom in my rental apartment. I'm looking for one that has wide coverage, great pressure, and generally feels like a good, heavy soaking (think like an enveloping waterfall, rather than being under a needle-jet). I'm specifically looking for a handheld to make bathing my dog and cleaning the shower easier. After several hours of research, I've narrowed it down to the Hansgrohe Croma Select S 2.5 GPM Multi Function Hand Shower and the Grohe Tempesta Cosmopolitan 2.5 GPM Multi Function Hand Shower. I'm leaning towards the Hansgrohe only because when I was a kid, my grandma had the Hansgrohe Clubmaster 2.5 GPM Multi Function Shower Head - and to this day, it's the best shower I've ever been in. So I'm looking for something similar (without the $300 price tag). Does anyone have experience with these brands or shower heads specifically? Any alternative suggestions? I bought this shower head brand new from Walmart. Out of the box. It doesn't work. The main issue with it is the leak as shown in the video. The only cause I can think of is this plastic washer that goes in the mounting bracket, but it doesn't really look broken, it looks like it was made with that split. Hi everybody, I’m hoping to get some opinions on a bathroom remodel in our just purchased first home. I’ve asked chatgpt to render the two options as I’m in a creative/practical conundrum on which direction to go. Advice or a clear winner in your opinion would be awesome! Constraints/Considerations: 1. We refinished the cast iron tub professionally, but it’s a longer than standard 66”. This is making it difficult to find a glass slider tub door. 30” standard depth though. 2. We purchased tile and it’s the 2.5”x8” Bedrosians Cloe in green. We’re gonna lay it stacked vertically. 3. Rough plumbing has been completed and the final fixtures will be Delta’s champagne bronze (spout, handheld, and shower head with a separate diverter valve above the mixing valve). 4. Total bathroom size is 60ish square feet so not huge. 5. We’re installing a niche on the wall to the right. 6. Vanity will eventually be a light natural wood finish. Pic 1: original tub surround before demo. Pic 2: chatgpt generated version if we kept the walls as is. Ignore the toilet and cgi weirdness of the fixtures. Niche should be on the short wall to the right. Pic 3: We add an arch to the tub entry. Same cgi issues as above. This happened 2 weeks ago and I’ve only just stopped cringing entirely when I think about it. My boyfriend and I were visiting his (quite conservative) parents house for the weekend. I took a shower, and I remember feeling really smug because I remembered to bring all of my cleansing stuff with me, including my new cleansing brush. For anyone that doesn’t know what it is, it’s literally a small handheld electronic contraption with a brush at the end of it, and does a better job of cleansing your face and leaving your skin smooth af than if you just used a flannel. After using it, I wrapped myself in a towel and was sorting out my shower bag when I had the amazing idea of detaching the brush from my cleanser, and leaving both parts on the windowsill to dry. It’s important to note that I had the contraption body facing away, towards the window, so you could only really see the handle and then the back of the ‘head’ of it. Anyway, everything’s fine for a couple of hours - boyfriend and I are sitting in his bedroom when his dad knocks on the door, gives me a really shifty look and then asks for “a word” with my boyfriend. We both looked at each other weirded out, but my boyfriend obliged and went outside to the hallway. After a few moments he comes back in a bit red in the face, sits down on the bed and says “why did you leave a sex toy in the bathroom?” Obviously I was perplexed, saying I REALLY had no idea what he was talking about. He was embarrassed rather than accusatory, and explained his dad had briefly described it as “pink with a big bulb” and then it hit me. I too, went bright red and laughed rather uncomfortably as I explained what it was. His dad got a bit defensive, and his response still makes me want to crawl into a hole and die when I think about it. “Well I’m sorry, but it looks just like one of your mother’s toys!” I’m not religious at all, but when I say I wanted God to beam me up there and then... I’m not kidding. I felt like jumping out the window. The whole energy of the room shifted. His dad made a hasty retreat as my boyfriend stood there gobsmacked, and we didn’t dare leave the bedroom again for the next couple of hours. Worst part was we had a family dinner that night, and his mum asked me about the facial cleanser and where to buy one. My boyfriend and his dad put their forks down at the same time. Talk about awkward. TL;DR I left my facial cleansing brush on the windowsill of my boyfriend’s conservative parents bathroom.
