Alright so I am going to build a second deck as I asked the other day. My current setup is a 8.38 with 8.38 thunders. I am going indy with these trucks, was going to get an 8.38 with a 144(8.25) truck. I figure it won't be noticeable, but I can get an 8.25 board instead. Now with the setup I am currently riding the 8.38 feels good, I want to try Indy's, but on the thunders I feel like the board gets stuck in the pivot cup and cranked to the side kind of often, and I land on the heel side pretty often. I also want this board to be a little different than my other one. I am stuck between staying at 8.38 and 8.25. What are the thoughts on this? I know the trucks will fit it's just at 1/16th of an inch, but what are y'alls feelings on the actual deck size? Going with a smaller harder sidecut wheel too (Bones X formula 99A vs spitfire sapphires at 94a iirc) so I suppose this could be my street/tech deck but I am not even there yet, so just splitting hairs at this point. I received my US pre-order for the Liquid Skateboard LQS-1 yesterday and wanted to post some initial thoughts and pics. I haven't been able to take it out yet because I'm sick and it's cold AF outside, but definitely will ASAP. For those of you unfamiliar, this is a single 350W hub-driven ESkate that doesn't use a remote. You push like a normal skateboard, but when you bring your back foot up onto the kicktail, there's a sensor that engages the motor to act like cruise control. You stop by footbraking. There's also a Pause mode you can enable/disable by pushing the power button twice, which disables the motor/sensor and allows it to be skated like a normal board. 12km range, 22kph top speed, 2 hr charge time. The battery is removable with 4 screws on the top of the deck. First, this thing is beautiful. The wheel wells really pop because of the contrast between the deck layers; the tape job is clean, and the bottom graphic is subtle against the deck's woodgrain. The construction quality and finish feel top-notch. It's lightweight, and I think this is going to be a great city/campus cruiser for me. This, along with the 90Wh battery, which allows it to be carried on commercial flights, are the main reasons I ordered it. Size-wise, I've included a picture of it next to my Landyachtz Tugboat cruiser for comparison. It came securely boxed and completely assembled. The 75x56mm 78A wheels feel super grippy to the touch and are mounted with what appear to be generic Japanese bearings. The matte black TKP trucks are mounted on 1/8" risers. EDIT: 2/17/26 - Short Ride Thoughts I was only able to get about 30 minutes on it, so this is definitely not a full review, but for first impressions, I enjoyed it and am excited to get back out for more. The kingpins were a little too loose for me, and I forgot to grab a skate tool on my way out the door, so I just bumped around a parking lot for a bit and down a walking path. I've since tightened them and will hopefully be able to get out more tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be nice. The sensor is a ~5x5" square under the grip tape, so the "foot sensor" outline doesn't all actually engage the motor (see new photo in comments). The Ride: Very nimble, almost surfskate feel, with as loose as the trucks were. I pushed a couple of times, placed my back foot, and the motor kicked in and I was just cruising around. Did some lazy figure eights, and rolled over some sticks and pebbles with no problem. This board is not going to feel very torquey, like ever, just more like a regular cruiser skateboard that you don't have to push as often. I didn't have the opportunity to really see how it does on a slope, so I'll be paying special attention to that next time. The motor is extremely quiet, with only the slightest hum to remind you that there's anything electric about the board. Stopping: It's pretty much footbraking, and only footbraking as far as I can tell. With the relatively short wheelbase (I'm 6'3") and the limited real estate on the tail that isn't over the sensor, I don't feel like I will be able to get a stable enough stance for speed checks or full slides without also engaging the motor. I'm also not sure how much abuse I can throw at the hub motor since I've never owned one before. Portability: The Liquid LQS-1 doesn't feel like it weighs much more than one of my longboards, just in a more compact package. This is easily carryable at your side or strapped onto a backpack. EDIT: 3/21/26 - Longer Ride Finally had a couple of nice days, so took the Liquid out when the wife and I went riding. I still really like it, but it is definitely more of a regular cruiser that you just don't have to push as often, than a true Eskate. They are not being conservative with the 10-degree incline rating; it will not take you up any terrain that you would look at and think "that's a hill". Plan on pushing, just not as much on flats. It pushes pretty well for being heavier and riding higher than I'm used to with wheels this large. Going downhill was smooth, and the motor being engaged by my foot didn't seem to affect small speed checks, but I wasn't tackling anything steep. It didn't feel like it was trying to run out from under me, but I'm also not skilled enough to full on slide it (yet). It turns very well. I had to tighten the trucks up because they started to feel a little squirrely at higher speeds, but I didn't feel like the bushings were too soft. I now have 4 threads showing on both the front and back with the stock components, but it still turns well. Even with the looser trucks, I didn't experience any wheelbite. That said, I'm a little over the "max weight" of 100kg, at 111kg / 245lb, so take that into consideration as well. I don't feel like I need to upgrade the bushings at this point. With the trucks loose, it was almost pumpable, like a shorter-wheelbase surfskate. Some day I might try extending the motor cable to accommodate a Waterborne/rail adapter, but that'll be another project for another day. All in all, it isn't a direct replacement for an Eskate, especially if you live in a hilly area, but if you're interested in a cruiser board that lets you coast along flat areas without pushing and you're comfortable with foot braking, it's a fun little board. submitted by /u/snapcrackowmyback to r/ElectricSkateboarding [link] [comments]

Hi Moza fans, I wanted to share my experience with the Moza SRP pedal set, I’ve been racing with them for the past 2 years with some awesome success! I’m going to dive into how they feel out of the box and what I did to make mine feel the way I wanted. Please also share your experience in the comments as a resource for those interested in buying them. Out of the box: These pedals are a great entry level set for the casual user. The feel of the pedals is super chill because they have low spring rate for driving without shoes and less complex mounting. I really couldn’t be happier for the first month of driving with these for their price. Customization: As you may have noticed in my video I have some serious modifications made to the throttle and clutch. For those of you who think they leave something to be desired. I decided to change the feeling of the SRP pedals to make them a capable tool for precision racing and drifting. My mods add some major resistance changes and I’ll get into each of them below. Stock and modified Pedal feel breakdown: Throttle: Out of the box the throttle is very drivable. It has a light linear coil spring to provide tension. For the most part it feels nice and quite smooth with the occasional squeak. The faceplate on the throttle is a full length plate and it feels nice on the foot, although some slippage can occur so a small strip of skateboard grip tape can fix your issue if you feel it necessary. I personally use my throttle mod which features a linear compression spring to increase the tension and allow for faster more precise movements. Brake: The Brake is very drivable out of the box. Especially if you have the load cell this will help a lot with precision. Many people complain about the feeling of the brake but this can be dialed in with the settings. Using more of the load cell vs the potentiometer will assist in brake feel in game, and playing around with different springs and damper combinations helps tremendously. I personally run a dual compression spring setup with a brake riser mod to assist with the travel distances when heel toeing. If you are looking for a stiffer more racing oriented feel I have heard some good stories about moza’s upgrade kit but I have not tried it myself. Clutch: The clutch out of the box is drivable. Getting the opportunity to clutch kick for a mere 50 bucks is borderline legendary. The feeling is very similar to the throttle because it uses a slightly heavier linear coil spring which is easy to use without shoes. But for me the similarity in feeling kind of leaves something to be desired after a a while. Even after tuning the curves an playing with the calibration I felt it wasn’t aggressive enough for me. I designed my clutch mod that beefs up the feeling giving a satisfying feel to every gear shift and clutch kick. The clutch mod is a non linear feel that changes during compression to emulate a clutch bite point. Tuning the curves in outhouse allows you to really dial in how the car bites in launches a takeoff. If you are looking into buying the SRP pedals I hope this has given you some good insight into what they are and can be. If you already have the SRP pedals and are looking to make some changes I’m ready to support that in any way I can! Finally getting into it at 24 yo. I’ve always wanted to as a kid but just never had the chance to, but now with adult money I figured I’d invest in a good board with good specs. I did a good amount of research for how I built this but I’ll admit there was a bit of impulse and design choices lol. Couldn’t find a local shop near me or any that were close enough and sadly no online shops for them either so I decided to go with CCS and went for the 15% off deal so I can’t complain. I have a very used old board that was gifted to me by a friend back in college but I figured if I’m going to commit I might as well go head first. This is the custom build I made. Hello, I’m looking for some advice on buying a new board. I have been skating casually just to get around for a few years. I was looking to get a new board and was wondering if this 8.5” is a good setup for street skating around my college campus that has a few cracks and uneven surfaces .Im gonna be honest I had no idea what I was looking for as my first board was a hand me down and I was just going with things I’ve read online. We’re talking tear gas, rubber bullets, sound cannons, drones, horses (yes, actual horses), and more. But here’s the good news: you don’t need military-grade gear. You need smart layering, a good grip, and maybe your roommate’s baking soda. This guide walks you through how to defend yourself using common stuff - like the kind of gear you could throw in a tote bag and bounce in under five minutes. No cosplay. No cringe. Just street-tested tactics drawn from the last half-century of civil disobedience around the globe. I. Chemical Irritants: Tear Gas & Pepper Spray What Happens Your eyes sting, your throat burns, you cry like you just watched a sad dog movie. It sucks. But it’s survivable. My first firearm ever was a Tisas A1 Service .45. I bought it when I was 22, on leave from the Army. I kept it at a relatives home until I ETS’d. When I was out of the military I found myself low on gun spending funds so I accepted the philosophy that, like most people say, the best gun is the one you got. It had many FTFs until I broke it in and learned the nature of the 1911 platform. It loves oil, good magazines, and good ammo. Even though it had GI style sights I was pretty accurate, more so than the M9s, G19s, and M17s I fired previously. Even put a dab of white paint on it for faster sight acquisition. It was then that I learned to point shoot with it in case of an “oh shit” scenario. With this type of gun and most any firearm in general, you need to become proficient in tackling reloads and malfunctions with a purpose. Onto what I did to it as a project gun. My first problem was hammer bite. In order to solve that problem I decided to buy a Wilson Combat beavertail but learned I would also need a rounded hammer to fit said beavertail cause a gi spur wouldn’t. There wasn’t really any special fitment that needed to be done so problem solved. Next I found my grip to be shifting from lack of front strap checkering so I added a Talon Grips front strap thats like skateboard tape and goodbye to slippage. These next two items are where I had to buy filing tools for. The Wilson high ride ambidextrous safety , and Trigger. I made a mistake trying to shove the trigger in so it sliced a line through its black coating. My first safety, I made the mistake of filing too much off of the contact point and felt it rendered my gun unsafe. Bought another and filed it a bit more carefully until it was good. For these items, I had to watch multiple videos in order to understand the theory and the contact points. All videos I watched were on youtube. All said and done, It may have looked a bit weird but I was confident and more comfortable in its shootability. All that was missing was new sights but that was out of my realm as a beginner. I ended up gifting that gun to a friend and bought the stakeout since I wanted a new firearm without all the out of place “drop in” parts. I decided I wanted the meusoc look and installed a new trigger and ambi safety to kind of achieve the look. If you can afford to, always buy American, but if not Tisas is great for the money and greater for project use and education. Invest in the proper tools, and watch many youtube videos and youll be set. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and if you do think youre gonna mess up, dont but the expensive parts to begin with. Hear me out. I started skating properly a week ago but I have a 7 year old element skateboard who no one in our family really rode. It’s a really nice board and easy to ride. But the grip is kind of coming off and I’m getting a new one. What exactly is the process of applying it? All tutorials show how to apply it on a deck, but HOW DO YOU GET TO THAT POINT? Like how do you take off the wheels and everything. Is there any video which does that.
