Is a big stainless litter box actually worth it for multi-cat homes
So this is kinda random but I was cleaning my Uni late last night and my cats were going absolutely feral in the background, kicking litter everywhere, and it hit me how much time I spend scooping compared to messing with my Uni lol. I’ve got 3 indoor cats, clumping litter, and a basic plastic box that is getting super scratched up and gross. I started googling around and saw people talking about triple-tray stainless boxes with sifters and different lid options. One of the links I ended up on was this thing: https://www.furrbby.com/products/xl-stainless-steel-sifting-litter-box-for-regular-clumping-litter-triple-pans - looks cool on paper, but I’m side-eyeing the price. Maybe I’m overthinking this. Has anyone here actually used something like that with multiple cats? Does the sifting thing really cut down on smell and daily scooping, or is it just another overhyped gadget? Also curious if your cats accepted the lid options or freaked out. Would love any real experiences or cheaper alternatives you’d recommend. submitted by /u/miraar_aravat to r/LegendofthePhoenix [link] [comments]

Is a stainless steel sifting litter box worth it for multi-cat homes?
So my roommate walked in on me last night, scooping for like the 4th time that day, and just went “you live in the litter box now,” and... yeah, fair. I’ve got 3 cats in a small apartment and I feel like I’m permanently coated in dust and clumps. I’ve been looking at upgrading from regular plastic boxes to some kind of sifting setup, and a lot of people keep mentioning stainless steel ones that supposedly cut down on smell and litter waste. One site I was on had this fancy triple-tray sifting thing and another brand name that popped up in some reviews was Furrbby, so now my brain is just spinning with options. Has anyone here actually used a stainless steel sifting box in a multi-cat household long term? Does it really reduce smell and litter use or is it just marketing? Do your cats actually use the enclosed/semi-lid styles or do they boycott it? Any specific brands or designs you’d recommend or avoid? submitted by /u/Raw-101 to r/AnxietyCats [link] [comments]

Looking for best pine pellet sifting stainless steel high walled cat litter boxes
With trial and error, and three boys aiming inside the litter box but then lifting their hind ends to complete thier performance with a spray and shimmy that sprays outside the edges of their lower walled boxes, I am realizing I need to invest in at least two more litter boxes that allow for easy sifting, (so compatible with pine pellets), and that are high walled to stop the spray from going outside the box. Preferably stainless steel for odor control and hygiene maintenance made easier. Does anyone swear by their high walled sifting stainless steel litter box? No leakages? Want to not worry about having it on carpet. Also looking for one large enough for them to feel comfortable using, no lid enclosures. For context I am trying to boycott Target and Walmart and Chewy seems to be super pricey...anyone have any links to look elsewhere? submitted by /u/auberryfairy to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

Pee proofing litter box lid
I bought a stainless steel litter box with clips but the seams of the top and bottom just butted up against each other rather than latching. I found this rope caulk and put a string of that before clipping the top and bottom together so pee won’t leak out. It’s about $5 and there’s a whole bunch. It’s not permanent so I can easily remove the top, clean and replace. submitted by /u/nessado to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

Round Stainless Steel Litter Box
I switched to stainless steel litter boxes a few years ago, but all I ever see are the rectangular shape. I’m looking for that traditional circle shape with a domed lid, but I can’t find anything with an enclosed lid. Anyone know of any litter box like I described? I’m thinking maybe just buying a circular stainless steel box and then taking a dome lid from one of those plastic circular litter boxes, but not sure yet. submitted by /u/jnem84 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

Help Finding Litter Box Lid (Only the lid)
I currently have a stainless steel litter box that I’ve had for my cat for close to a year. So far it’s fantastic and I absolutely love it, but recently I accidentally broke the plastic lid that encased the top. My cat personally doesn’t mind covered boxes, and with her specific habits, having the covered box keeps things much cleaner. My issue is that no matter where I look, I cannot for the life of me find anywhere selling a lid on its own for this type of box. There are dozens of listing for litter boxes of the exact same size that include a lid, but I can’t find one anywhere for just the lid by itself. I can’t afford to buy a whole new box (the metal ones can be upwards of $50-$60, and I’m pretty limited on funds). The litter box dimensions are 23.6in x 16in. Anyone know of anywhere that I’ve missed? submitted by /u/Tabaxi_Monk_ to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

ISO Stainless Steel litter box with hooded lid
I’d like to replace my Nature’s Miracle Corner Hooded plastic litter box with a stainless steel litter box that has a hood. I’m flexible on the shape (corner or rectangular), and I don’t mind if the hood is plastic or if the box and lid are from different manufacturers. I’d appreciate any recommendations you may have. submitted by /u/lkat7770 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

Are stainless steel litter trays worth it?
Hello everyone 👋 I’ve been looking at ways to make my cats litter tray as odourless as possible. I scoop twice a day and clean the litter tray thoroughly once a week but still feel it smells. I currently have a plastic box with a lid, but heard lots about stainless steel boxes. They’re a little more expensive than usual trays so just wanted to see if they actually work in keeping odours to a minimum! Thanks :) submitted by /u/finelinex to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

Searching for the perfect stainless steel litter box
I'm searching for the perfect enclosed stainless steel litter box and getting no hits. Are there any boxes with the following characteristics: Fully enclosed top, ideally without top entry If there's an entry flap it can be removed Extra large height, like minimum 16.5" height since one of my cats likes to stand. Extra large footprint--24""+ (I have three cats, I guess I could get multiple though) Sides are fully one piece because I'm afraid my stand-to-pee cat would leak through a lid seam. Like this: https://a.co/d/bpgMxrm I guess if there's no top I could lay a box or something across it, but I am still having trouble finding a no-seam one with tall enough sides that they could comfortably move around in if I blocked the top off. I spent a LOT of time searching Amazon but nothing meets these needs. The no-seam is especially important because seriously, right now I am using plastic storage tubs with an entrance cut in since the stand-to-pee has peed over every normal box I've tried. At this point I don't care about cost if it meets my needs (under $200 would be good though. I know that's a crazy amount for a box). submitted by /u/kitcat_kittycat to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

whats a better litter box? stainless steel or automatic?
so ive got money saved up and ive been wanting to get a new litter box for my kitty. i wanna ditch the plastic boxes with lids because they hold odor and i hate it, the litterbox is in my room which makes it worse. i heard stainless steel keeps odor away but my kitty will probably throw the litter out when digging. but also with an automatic i won’t have to worry about forgetting to clean her box everyday since i get busy. which is better? do automatics also hold odor? submitted by /u/Inevitable-Air-1123 to r/cats [link] [comments]

Why are there NO sifting litter boxes with fully enclosed lids? Help!
I’ve been searching for ages now for a litter box that has all 3 qualities: 1. Is a sifting litter box meant for pine pellets, 2. Has a stainless steel pan, and 3. Has a fully enclosed top like a normal litter box. For some reason, this seems to be too much to ask. So I’ve made a compromise and have decided to forgo asking for it to have a stainless steel pan. You’d think I’d at least be able to find a plastic sifting box with a fully enclosed top, right? WRONG! So so wrong. Apparently that is also way too much to ask. I’ve looked into the Van Ness sifting litter box, but it’s meant for sifting regular clay litter, not pellets. From what I’ve seen, customers have tried pine pellets and have reported that they fall through the grate. I’ve also looked into this litter box: https://a.co/d/2b6vjQi But it is unusually expensive for a litter box, and while it’s accompanied by many good reviews, the ONLY good reviews are 100% written by bots. The real reviews all report bad experiences with the product breaking and being very low quality, even with its expensive price. I’ve also looked into the hooded version of the Breeze system litter box, and while the hood is decent (I’d wish for a slightly smaller hole), I don’t like the pull-out pan system. I want to be able to just take the top off of my litter box, shake the grated pan around to sift out the pellets, and throw out the stuff that fell through. That’s what I need. So, can anyone help me find what I’m looking for? I need a litter box that has a fully enclosed lid that is meant to sift pine pellets. Bonus points if it’s stainless steel! But plastic is okay too. This feels like a nightmare lol I don’t think I’m asking for TOO much 😭 submitted by /u/Much-Dragonfruit4623 to r/cats [link] [comments]

Sifting litter boxes with lids??
Hi, I’m going to be bringing my cat to college with me this year, and I wanted to buy a stainless steel sifting litter box so that I could use pine pellets in the hopes that it would be less smelly, and more cost effective. I figured I’d splurge on a nice litter box, and save money with cheap pine pellets from tractor supply. Well, I’ve been looking for the right litter box, and for some reason all of the sifting litter boxes have no enclosed lids! This is so frustrating. I want one with a lid because 1) that’s what my cat is used to, and 2) it would keep smells and dirty stuff from escaping the box. Can anyone link me to a stainless steel sifting litter box that has a lid? At least one that’s mostly enclosed? I think I saw one with a hole in the top, but can’t find it anymore. That would be my best bet, I think. But please, help me find what I’m looking for! Also, if anyone has advice for using pine pellets, please let me know! I’ve never used them before but i’ve heard so many great things. I’d love to hear from people who aren’t secretly trying to influence me lol. submitted by /u/Much-Dragonfruit4623 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]

Are stainless steel litter boxes really the move?
I have 3 cats and 3 litter boxes. I have those big plastic litter boxes that look like giant plants. I love them. But they absolutely harbor smell and need to get scrubbed frequently. We’re moving and I’m getting them new stuff for their litter because I’m not packing these with me. Are stainless steel ones really worth the hype? Also, lid or no lid? I love how cute the plant ones are but it’s time for a change I think. TIA submitted by /u/astro-amphibian-00 to r/CatAdvice [link] [comments]
