Truck rental services offer a variety of vehicle sizes and types, allowing customers to choose the right truck for their specific needs, whether it's for moving, transporting equipment, or delivering goods.
3
Increased Mobility
With the rise of e-commerce and the gig economy, more people require transportation for goods, leading to a higher demand for truck rentals to facilitate deliveries and personal moves.
4
Access to Modern Vehicles
Rental companies often provide newer models equipped with the latest technology and safety features, giving customers access to reliable and efficient vehicles without the long-term commitment of ownership.
5
Environmental Considerations
Renting trucks can be a more sustainable option, as it reduces the number of vehicles on the road and encourages shared use, which can lower overall emissions compared to individual ownership.

Thoughts on Enterprise Truck Rental?
I’m currently working at an airport location as a Management Trainee in the Top Gun program, and I’m planning to grill next month. Recently, I was approached by one of the area managers for Truck about meeting for lunch and potentially shadowing at one of the truck locations. Everything has gone really well so far, and they’ve asked if I’d be interested in transitioning from Daily Rental to Truck. From the people I’ve spoken with, I’ve consistently heard that they wish they had made the switch sooner, which has definitely made me more open to the idea. If I were to move forward, I would complete the Truck MQI instead of continuing on the Daily Rental track. I’m trying to better understand what that path looks like long-term. Specifically, I’d love insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of an Account Specialist and Senior Account Specialist, what skills are most important to succeed in those roles, and how the compensation compares to staying in Daily Rental as an Assistant Manager or continuing through the MT track. submitted by /u/SensitiveGazelle5850 to r/EnterpriseCarRental [link] [comments]

My neighbor neglects their dog and I'm so upset about it. He keeps getting out and coming over to visit me and it's breaking my heart.
Hey all, I am SO UPSET with my neighbors. They have all these expensive trucks, tools, ATVs, and they meticulously care for their yard... but they neglect their pitbull. I saw him when I was taking my own dogs for a walk and he came right up to me. He was very friendly. At first I thought he was hit by a car how badly he was limping. His tail looks like he's been broken and never reset properly. His paws looks like they may have been crushed at some point and are twisted all weird. His poor nails are severely overgrown and he's very unwashed. He is the SWEETEST BIG HEADED BOY! My heart was heavy when someone told me it was my neighbor's dog... and I returned him. I thought that's the best thing. I have my hands full, I have a full house of 2 dogs & 3 cats. And I don't even own so it's tough already finding rentals as is. But I just felt SO BAD returning him. The neighbor wasn't even happy to see him. She just herded him back into their garage. Then today he got out again... and he waddled right over to my doorstep again. He remembers me and came back. 😭 I had to return him yet again and I felt SO BAD. I hesitated and considered keeping him for a bit to do his nails and bathe him, I feel like I should have. I walked him back to his house and rang their ring cam and what did my neighbor tell me? "Hey just leave him outside he'll probably be fine" LIKE EXCUSE ME?! It's SO SAD AND HEARTBREAKING. I dunno what to do. I'm considering asking them if they will at least let me groom him because he desperately needs a bath and nails trim. Some friends have told me to ask them to take him, and see if I can find a better home for him. He's literally such a sweet boy. It's so hard to see him suffer, he's absolutely in a ton of joint pain you can see it in his hips and legs. It looks like a combo of bad breeding, neglect, and maybe old age (I don't know how old he is). Has anyone been a situation like this and how did you handle it? If he gets out again I dunno what to do. 😭 I know the reality is that in many ways he's lucky just to have a home. It's so sad though. I have to hug my dogs. They don't know how lucky they have it. EDIT: I want to clarify my situation, a lot of folks suggesting I adopt him, I can't unfortunately. I have both a reactive dog and a senior cat. To me honestly my cat's health and stress levels are the most important because she has a lot of issues and struggles to eat, dealing with thyroid balancing medications with her. I don't want to put extra stress on her. Given, I don't know, maybe things would settle and work out, but I just want to put this out there that it wouldn't be an easy thing to take any extra dog into the house right now. :( UPDATE: I went over there today with a little care package I made for him with treats, and I have a spare collar I wanted to give to the dog (because he has no collar). But nobody answered the doorbell I assume they were not home. I'll try again tomorrow. :( UPDATE 2: I went over and talked with the owner. I brought with me a bag of treats and some bully sticks I had to give to the dog. I just told her "Oh hi! I love your dog he is so cute!" And she awkwardly but cordially smiled and said "oh thanks, he loves you too". I offered the bully sticks but she said he has sensitive teeth and can't eat them, but she took the other treats I brought. I asked if he's older and she said he is 12 years old. I feel a bit of relief after talking with them. He's an older dog, and from the looks of it, probably has some bad genetic health stuff going on which explains a lot with the waddling (joint pain) and general condition. When she refused the bully sticks due to his teeth I knew they have at least some level of care for the dog if they are careful about what to give him. So I'm definitely relieved to find that out! I'm not sure about his nails but I didn't press about those. Anyway I told her he is no trouble at all and he is welcome to visit me anytime. And offered to pet sit him if they ever needed it while away. So at least they know they have a neighbor who does care if they are out of town they don't have to leave him completely alone. I think about the dogs in shelters, many of whom never get out or get any home, and at least this big guy is fed, watered and has a roof over his head. I feel sometimes as someone who is passionate about animal's wellbeing that I let my heart do a lot of the heavy lifting. After taking a step back and taking with them I realized he's gonna be okay. He is 12 years old, and I don't think pushing for a rehoming situation for him at this point would be necessarily the best thing for him. It is hard for me because I want EVERY dog to be as loved as I love my babies. But a lot of people don't see dogs the way we do here. I don't think that he's being abused though, if the owner was aware of his tooth sensitivity and turned down the bully sticks, she is at least aware of some of his health issues. I want to say thanks everyone for your comments! I get so riled up over pitbulls in the best way. I love them SO MUCH. And I cannot resist a big headed house hippo. submitted by

Which van/truck rental company do you prefer?
We recently just got some furniture from loved ones for our new place. It’s an apartment we have parking out front. To pick up the furniture it’s about 8-10 miles away from us due to traffic. The items will be a small dinning set, coffee table, tv stand and an accent chair we aren’t sure if they’re getting us two of those yet. Everything will be relatively small since it’s a small apartment in the first place so we can’t have large furniture. It will be 1-3 people including me are helping drive and take it all. What van rental company that’s relatively cheap that you recommend? We aren’t going far and I don’t believe we need even a box truck due to size. Either a van or a truck will do. We were going to go with U-Haul due to having plenty in our area but our biggest concern is what we heard is dirty vans/trucks and aparently even if you reserve a vehicle it can still not be there when you go to pick it up??? This is a first for me so I’m not sure what I’m doing and I would go with a moving company but they’re charging us $300 and worst case we can do it but it’s really not ideal budget wise for us. submitted by /u/No_Bookkeeper_9716 to r/moving [link] [comments]

4 months ago I lost all respect for local contractors. 4 months later I've gained a ton for myself.
The original plan seemed pretty simple/straight forward. Call a handful of local companies in the area, have them quote us on fishing a 24'x12' rectangle of the basement, review the quotes...and pick one that seemed reasonable. We wanted nothing special. Nothing lavish. A finished rectangle with lights, outlets, and a durable floor. A rec space for the kids, a place to have movie nights, and a bonus spot for family to stay while in town. Nope. Over a dozen calls were met with no shows or no responses, showing up 4 hours late to 5pm appointments, degrading comments about the space, requiring features we didn't want or need (bathroom or wet bar), and 4 quotes over fifty thousand fucking dollars. Partially out of spite, with zero experience or knowledge on anything 'handy', I started looking into what it may cost and the cost associated with each step along the way. The number came to just under $7,5000 in materials, budget tools that I didn't have, truck rentals to get everything to my house, and an electrician friend to handle the lights and outlets. I put everything on paper, convinced my (hesitant) wife to let me try, and decided to give it ago. For the last 4 months I've spent pretty much every second of free time (and what wasn't supposed to be free time) working on the space, watching how-to's on Youtube, and combing through reddit threads and online forums. Watching it start to come together was an incredible feeling. Building confidence with each step was extremely rewarding. Last Friday the couch arrived and we held out first movie night. Edit: This got way more attention than I ever would have expected. Thank you all for the kind words. For those interested, here's a link to see more photos of the process. Penske Truck rental price negotiating
Anyone have success negotiating with Penske recently to get their price down? I've got a quote for a one-way rental for $1300 where Uhaul is 850 for the same trip. I keep seeing posts about how Penske will decrease the price if you negotiate with them, but every time I call or chat them they just keep giving me the same line about "Well were worth more because we guarantee the truck, so that's the best rate we can offer you". Any ideas on how to get them to come down? submitted by /u/harper1357 to r/moving [link] [comments]

Penske Truck Rental? What the heck happened??
This was my one-way rental receipt from 2020! 4 years later the same exact rental now costs $1,455 still including free mileage and the student discount. Also what is the 5-day rental minimum?? I need 3 days max. submitted by /u/Boatie1999 to r/moving [link] [comments]

UHAUL, Penske, or Budget?
1-Bed Apartment, one 10 x 5 x 8 storage unit, likely looking for a 22' truck and a car carrier to tow. Seems like Penske is FAR more expensive in rates than U-HAUL. But, Penske offers lift gates on their trucks. However, U-HAUL does have the "low deck" designs with the ramps. I've not seen anything super-special about Budget, but I'm not sure honestly which of these rental places to go with. My folks will be coming, in their SUV to take a few things too, so that'll help, and I also plan to take a few trips down to the new place with my car loaded up with small fry stuff and boxes (I plan for a 1-month "overlap" between the new place's lease starting and the current place expiring) before the big "move day". Is U-HAUL usually easier to get what you need when you need it? Especially if you go to an "official" U-HAUL center? I rented a Penske once at a Home Depot...didn't get the small cargo van I reserved for and ended up hauling a small amount of stuff in a large 16' box truck. (they discounted my rate as an apology for the screw up at least, and everyone was cool to work with). But it WAS a nice shiny new truck at the same time, and very well cared for. What's your experience with these three truck places? What do you recommend? I do not have the funds to shell out for a moving company. So I've elected to self-move with a typical truck rental instead. submitted by /u/ITrCool to r/moving [link] [comments]

What's the catch? Budget Truck Rental
So i'm looking to make a cross country move (about 1,200 miles) in 3 weeks. I've been searching for one-way rental trucks and most companies (Uhaul, Penske) were about the same price for $2.5k+ with other companies like PODS being significantly more. The weird thing is that Budget was only $1k (and it was for a bigger truck). What am I missing? Is there something massively wrong with Budget that I should be considering? I'm anticipating the truck will be older/worse but it can't be that much worse right? Oh and I tried to see if Uhaul could price match and they said no. Thanks! https://preview.redd.it/67g9dntdxvib1.jpg?width=999&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=136f52d08c16e752a1f28a3c88a82d3cd688cebf https://preview.redd.it/hfg01ptdxvib1.jpg?width=1204&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6b46b279f8a6ec070bd2100e0051894063d9127 https://preview.redd.it/hl2gjrtdxvib1.jpg?width=463&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b1daf8c284dadd7560e0a06b84d71899b3f831f submitted by /u/We-llDoItLive to r/moving [link] [comments]

Beware of Budget Truck Rental!!!
We reserved a 16' budget truck with car tow to drive from New Orleans to Richmond, VA about a month ago. With multiple email reminders of our reservation I felt assured we would be fine. Once I arrived this morning to pick up the truck they looked dumbfounded and basically told me there's no way I was getting the truck I reserved. The manager immediately suggested I call another company to find a truck. Luckily Penske came in clutch and got me a 16' with car tow dolly same day. It was a little pricier but so very happy they were able to help us. We head out tomorrow but just wanted to give some feedback on a Budget rental experience. Absolutely avoid budget, it's worth spending the extra $ for peace of mind. submitted by /u/Kayr0w to r/moving [link] [comments]
