Im just curious of the cost that everyone paid for their trips including families? Hey guys - Preparing for our 6th trip to Orlando in first week of May. (not been since 2019). Id consider myself someone who knows the landscape of Orlando Parks and generally understands how they operate but I have seen so many posts about queue times for the Universal parks on here lately. To be clear, I understand that queues are part of the process and are unavoidable to an extent, but me and my family are kinda anxious about just how long and chaotic the queues will be. Are they really that bad ? Seeing how crazy it is currently is putting a bit of a dampener on the excitement. We are probably going to end up with express passes to ease this as by the sounds of it, we'll get on nothing without them. I shat my pants at universal studios Repost because I’m going back soon and needed to get rid of the nerves I (F19) went on a family vacation a couple of months ago to universal studios. It was was amazing! Great food and rides. Now one of the best options for food for a large family like ours was to go to the 3 broomsticks and a feast from Harry Potter. The food was great potatoes, chicken, ribs and more! I gobbled that shit like no one’s business. I mean I was going IN. Now it’s a couple hours later and the park is about to close. My family and I are walking through the dr. Seuss land and my stomach rumbles. I’m like, ‘it’s fine just a fart all will be well’. Spoiler: all was not well. I duck into a corner so I don’t subject an innocent bystander to the foul smell coming from my body. I let it out. At first I thought that it was just a wet fart. I mean it’s Orlando, it’s about a million degrees and I was already going through swamp ass. I go to walk away and my butt cheeks are WET. I stop and think no way. There is NO WAY I just shit myself. I go to my mom (F42) and she runs from me. I mean she LITERALLY RUNS AWAY. I start borderline yelling in the middle of the road waddling my way to her. At this point I’m nearly crying. Turns out she was running because she had to fart too but that’s a story for another time. I ask her to check my shorts and she says she doesn’t see anything and it must just be sweat. I don’t believe her. I waddle to the bathroom pull down my shorts and there it is. Pale and chunky diarrhea. It smelt like death and I nearly threw up. So I do the only rational thing. Cry. So now I’m sweating, crying and sitting on the toilet leaking liquid death from my ass. An innocent family walks in an smells my mess and immediately walks out. Long story short, my grandma being the hero she is, bought me some new shorts and I cried myself to sleep that night. Than Islands of Adventure. IOA rides are top heavy with the three big hitters (V-coaster, Hagrids, Spiderman) then the quality really drops off. If you are not a coaster or a water ride person, then there's almost nothing to do here. USF is more well balanced, with some great themed coasters and some decent dark rides. The top rides don't compare to IOAs, but it has more good rides. USF hands down blows IOA out of the water in terms of shows. Bourne Stuntacular is arguably the best new modern theme park show ever made (even better than Epic's). Lost Continent losing its two shows is a tragedy. USF's Harry Potter land is much better than IOA's (the best in the chain in fact). In terms of Food USF is much more balanced and offers more variety. IOA has Mythos, and that's it. USF has some great sit downs and whimsical places like Minion Cafe and great stall options like the Crepes. Other logistical pros for USF. It's more weather tolerant. IOA pretty shut downs during inclement weather. Freebies at USF like Mardigras and concerts also help its cause. All this is before the new eticket roller coaster coming to USF. If it's anything like Hollywood Drift in Cali, it would definitely fling USF way higher. Below is my breakdown of the attraction quality over at both parks in 2026. Hi! My husband and I are discussing planning our first trip ever to Universal Studios in Florida and we're so excited! A few things we have on our list of places we HAVE to go are : Wizarding World Nintendo World Isle of Berk Regin of Kong Jurassic Park I know theme parks can get really expensive. For those who have been a lot or even just learned a lot about what to do, what to avoid, what you can save money on, how to best explore, and just in general what your favorite things were, what suggestions do you have? Were there any hyped things that you just felt weren't worth it? Were there things that aren't hyped enough? Are there resorts/hotels you recommend or suggest we avoid? Is it better to stay off the resort for savings or can you get bundles to make staying on resort worth it? We're also trying to do it on a budget if possible, we're going to save for a few years so ways to save money at the park or even suggestions for cheapest/best/least busy times of year are also appreciated! Just got back from out first trip tot Orlando. Our universal studios day was the most underwhelming day of trip by far. Diagon alley/hogwarts has amazing level of world building, but it’s a small fraction of the park. Things like the wand spots were cool, but always had a line. There was very little shade or things to do inside. And with the park closing early (7:00) we couldn’t even come back when it wasn’t as hot. There was no fireworks at the end of the day. US and IOA feel like our local six flags (outside of HP areas) in terms of theming quality/depth and clientele. Think groups of unsupervised or under supervised middle schoolers pushing/cutting in line). One actually tried to open my bag while I was wearing it, presumably to try to lift my phone/wallet? The marvel area looks absolutely dated. Like more dated than the Batman area at my local six flags looked … in 2002. Same for the simpsons area. I was in line next to people absolutely reeking of cigarette smoke 1/3 of the time. As in let people go ahead to get ahead to put space between reeking. Velocicoaster was cool, but so many of the other rides are lazy screen simulators. I’m not sure I’d go back for a long time, if ever.
