No wardrobe, new curtains or light shades yet, but carpet is in. Space feels much bigger with bed able to go into a corner, probably will have white ikea triple cupboard where temporary drawers are now. Aiming for mostly white curtains with graphic blue pattern or maybe stripes, waiting for a few samples in the post.

I can't believe I'm here asking this, but I've been searching online for hours, and all my google searches are leading nowhere. My husband and I are looking for a bed frame for a queen-sized tempurpedic mattress that fit the following three requirements. (a) Real wood (not MDF or other fake wood) (b) Drawer storage underneath (Ideally 2+ drawers on each side) (c) Slatted base for mattress breathability Nearly everything I can find fulfills either (a) OR (b), but not both. The closest I can find is the IKEA Mandal bed, but the shelves on the headboard and the fronts of the drawers are white-painted fiber board. Muji has a sunoko bed with a matching drawer set you can add, but the drawers aren't attached to the bed, so I suspect they are awkward to use. I honestly wanted something more original than IKEA or Muji, but I am stunned to find that nearly everything is fake wood. Obviously the lower the price the better, but are budget is ¥250,000 max (which rules out any of the full order-made options I found.) Since Google searches aren't turning up good options, I'm wondering if there are specific furniture companies I should be looking at? Based on the materials, I think the drawer is solid pine with a white stain and clear acrylic lacquer. Hey everyone, is there anyone that owns an Ikea ALEX (804.854.23, the drawer unit on castors variant) and could give me the exact width of the top plate? Mine will get delivered on Friday, but I want to get a multiplex board cut to the dimensions of the top plate beforehand. Unfortunately, there are two conflicting information on the website. In the measurements section it states a width of 67cm, while the technical drawing shows a width of 66cm. I have already talked to two different people with the customer support and they both gave me different answers about which number is the correct one. i’m renovating my kitchen in the worlds slowest DIY. none of this pictured is finished or set in stone yet, despite cabinets being assembled and put mostly in place. im keeping the cabinet hardware regardless, but its only attached to these drawers so far, and im opening everything else by edges for now. my handyman thinks i’m nuts, but i really want to do a pale/dusty pink backsplash. i thought i would want zellige but found these glass tiles today and i love them both in and out of the direct sunlight. so that would be: glossy white uppers and side pantry, blue-ish lowers, a (maybe) wood counter, and pink backsplash. is this terrible? am i nuts? (speaking of nuts - most of this is ikea and i might also want to swap my lower cabinet fronts from havstorp turquoise to nickebo grey-green. 🫣 they’re almost the same color from far away but i just think i might prefer green + pink to blue + pink, and as the turquoise is discontinued i feel less anxiety knowing i can source replacements for the green fronts for a while if needed.) eta: i just sent my handyman this photo and he replied, "That one looks kinda nice." woo HOO! Every setup video I see on Youtube always uses the same desk, a wooden or black/white countertop with 2 IKEA Alex Drawers on the sides. Hi everyone! Where are y’all buying your vanities from? I have the classic BeautyGurucore vanity right now - the white particle board IKEA set up with the Alex drawers - and it fits my needs but not my style anymore. I’ve been looking for a new vanity for literal YEARS now but can’t find anything that gives me everything I want: (1) plenty of drawer storage, (2) a wood finish, and (3) made to last with sturdy materials (without being like $5k). It feels like the options are always too small or made of really cheap materials. I would love something like an Impressions Vanity in a natural wood finish, but haven’t found anything comparable. So where did you get your vanity? Any tips on how to create a set-up with tons of storage? Bought the house 10 years ago because we loved the location and view but HATED the kitchen. Only one person fit in the kitchen at any given time and it was the Ikea idea house. Learned a lot in the process. Not sure I would do rift white oak cabinets again - or at least would spent a LOT more time making sure everything was correct so I didn’t have mismatched grain patterns all over. We went with GE Cafe appliances. I really like the look of them but 1) icemaker SUCKS which you think is no big deal until you have more than 2 guests over and have to run to the store for ice every time. 2) Matching the “bronze” handles was a challenge. Everyone’s version of bronze is different so trying to find a faucet with soap dispenser, garbage disposal button and hot water dispenser was rough. Thanks Waterstone but $$$&. For cabinet pulls we found Atlas Homewares Thin Square 7-9/16 Inch Center to Center Handle Cabinet Pull in “champagne” bronze which we love and fits well with the GE Cafe “bronze” handles. Has just enough of the red tint in it to make it more bronze than the bright gold options we kept running into during our search. We went with a longer island versus adding a dining area by the window (now glass door). Haven’t missed it. Bought a transformer table we use for holidays and gatherings and it works great. Removing the wall which had structural implications was hard but not as expensive as we were told by multiple contractors it would be. One contractor told us to “fall in love with the post” coming from the island as our only option. It cost us about $4k for an engineer and maybe $20k in framing and the beam to eliminate that dumb wall that caused the 1p kitchen design. We were made to feel crazy for wanting to put a beam in and eliminate the wall separating the living area and kitchen and it just took persistence and a great contractor to help us see the vision. Favorite things so far are the island double waterfall with calacatta miraggio gold engineered quartz countertops and the drawer fridge in the bar area (near sliding door for indoor/outdoor entertaining). We like the wood and white look but again not 100% excited about rift cut white oak cabinets. Another thing we really love unexpectedly is all drawers below compared to lower cabinets with doors. SO much more storage!! I wouldn’t do the 5 in one oven (GE Cafe) again. Just get a microwave. The amount of work to go through every time you want to use it as something other than a microwave (along with risks of accidentally leaving something metal in there before switching back) is not worth it. Just get a microwave. It will save you a lot of money and you have an oven you can use in convection to air fry (or get a countertop air fryer). We went through a lot on our 10’ island and the outlets because we wanted extra deep seating on the island so you didn’t hit your knees when you sat there. We ended up finding a way to build outlets on the inside of each side of the island that could pass our electrical inspection. We didn’t want a “pop up” on the island and had a really hard time figuring this out but ultimately built a small wood frame inside each side of the island on living room side in order to install outlets.
