What I like and dislike so far in the Summer 2026 Update
Likes: From the baddie pass, i LOVE the biker shoes but I wish we could pattern it. I love the new lips in CM. They remind me of DLC features for some reason. To be fair, the other items in the baddie pass aren't that exciting to me except for the gradient dress. I missed out on the gradient dress from last year, so I'm glad to have it back. I like the daily login rewards. I haven't gotten all of them, but I'm glad they added a cyber suit for us non VIP players. the golden bloom nails are pretty. the DTI bag is the BEST BAG in the game so far omg! i love it. Dislikes: i hate what they did to style showdown. i can't farm for stars anymore, and the "new contestant" thing is annoying as if they're turning it into a whole different new game. the saved outfits in the lobby instead of avatars makes the game so laggy, it's irritating. most of the baddie pass items are kind of boring to me, no offense. just not my taste. the items in the currency shop aren't that good to me either. i might not buy any of them except for the nomad pants but only if they're wearable by the female rig i wish we got a few new walk packs. don't get me wrong, i'm glad they returned the old ones, but at least one or two new walks would be really nice. i love using different walk packs. also, i saw one named bodybuilder walk pack and i noticed it looks similar to superstar walk. am i tripping? is this a glitch?? lowkey wish they brought back the captain scarlet quest. will they do it in the future? no idea tbh. anyway that's it and that's just my opinion. let me know about your opinions on the update! submitted by /u/Prestigious_Code_726 to r/DressToImpressRoblox [link] [comments]

Pride Nails 2026!
Hello! As my first real post on my new nail art account, I thought I’d do a round up of my pride nails from this June (plus an extended 4th of July pride one). They are in opposite chronological order, just because I haven’t posted the fishies yet and wanted more eyes on them! My gay little fish make me so happy to look at. I’d skipped doing nail art the last week of June, I had bad art block after doing 3 weeks in a row lol. But then I got sad that Pride month was ending, and I’m going to a friend’s get together the 4th, so I needed my nails to look cute… so why not combine the summer with the gay and make rainbow fish! AITAH For Cutting Off my Pregnant "Friend" Who Has Cancelled Last Minute On Everything For The Last 3+ Years.
I am NOT OOP, OOP is u/Blogger8517 Originally posted to r/AITAH AITAH For Cutting Off my Pregnant "Friend" Who Has Cancelled Last Minute On Everything For The Last 3+ Years. Original Post: May 23, 2026 Someone I know is currently pregnant and due to give birth very soon, but for the last 3 years have consistently cancelled last minute on plans, deflected blame, and I feel used and disposable. AITAH for blocking her? For context, over the last year I can count on one hand the amount of times she has showed up to things our friend and I planned for months in advance. We all live 2-3 hours from each other, so driving to do dinners, celebrate bdays, etc. is very time consuming and expensive. However, I'm happy to put in the effort when it is appreciated, but over the last 2 years the excuses became that she was too tired or she wanted to spend time with her bf, and now most recently, I haven't even gotten a text at all- just straight up feeling disrespected that she would rather sit at home and not put in the effort to come to plans she supposedly wanted to make. My birthday was my last straw - 2 months ago - I picked the restaurant, activities, and everything surrounding her due to the pregnancy. There were multiple texts sent out in the week and month leading up to this- texting her multiples times to confirm the plans. Shocker - she did not come but here's the kicker - she tried to make it seem like it was my fault for not reminding her or telling her about the plans. I followed that up with screenshots of the texts of all the times of me telling her. That being said, I continued to try and be there for her throughout her pregnancy and supported her. However, it's clear I'm no longer wanted in any capacity. I'm posting on here for the fact that I can't talk to anyone else about this due to her being pregnant and knowing that her cancelling last minute will be seen as excused- but I've felt used and disposable over the constant disappointment and expectations for me to show up for her over the years prior to this. I truly don't understand how someone can be this selfish and I almost want to say that this is why she will have nobody in her corner, because how is it fair to continue to try and show up for someone who is so disrespectful of my time and everyone else's time besides her boyfriend who she always cancelled on me last minute for. Due to the timing of this I have chosen to block her and not discuss anything about my grievances because of two reasons, 1.) It's not going to change anything as she's very aware of how rude she's been. 2.) She's pregnant - and I refuse to be painted in a negative light that I stressed out a first time mom. However, I just felt like I needed someone to hear my perspective. Today, she planned something but of course, she didn't even cancel last minute she just texted our other friend saying she is using this time to get her hair and nails done. The sad part is- I never even planned on going solely for the fact that I wasn't going to waste the time, money, and gas for someone to stand me up. It's a hard lesson to learn that no matter how much you try with someone whether that be a friend, family, or a man, that some people just don't care, ever. I blocked her because I don't want to see the inevitable text of "omg I miss you let's make plans." Truly at this point it just feels like she got pleasure from knowing she has someone care about her and she could do whatever she wanted, and I'd still be there. I felt used. Editor's note: OOP later shared with a small update Thank you so much to everyone who has commented and replied to this post. It feels nice to know I’m not crazy or selfish for simply wanting to have someone show up for me the same way I’ve tried to do, let alone consistently deal with being no call no showed after already going to said plans. I wanted to make note that I have decided to unblock her following the advice of some of the comments and that it would serve me more benefit in the future. I also have known for a very long time that I would not see her once she gives birth but deep down I know it won’t just be because of the baby, but it will be also partially due to how she’s been up until now. Something that I’m struggling coming to terms with is that I don’t feel comfortable inviting her to the things that were once non-negotiable such as holidays or bdays that she has no showed even before she got pregnant or gave birth. I just don’t understand how someone is so okay with dropping off the face of the earth but on social media, pretending like everything is ok. AITAH has no consensus bot, OOP was unanimously NTA Relevant Comments Commenter 1: NTA—She's proven she doesn't value anyone's time—now that she's about to have a kid she'll use that as an excuse. You were right to cut her lose, if any mutual friends ask just say she doesn't respect you, and you're done. Plain and simple, if all she has is her baby daddy, then let that be the village she keeps flaking on since she's got no else. This is a lesson she needs to learn OOP: Sadly yes, I don't plan on reaching out or going out of my way to help her. Commenter 2: She is clearly telling you that she doesn’t want a friendship with you. It would be easier if she would just come out and say that, but her consistent behavior tells you all you need to know. Just walk away… OOP: What’s crazy is that she says she’s treated me the best out of her other friends. Commenter 3: INFO: Does she give you adequate time when she's planning to cancel or is she cancelling while you are literally on your way/already there? OOP: She cancels plans 1 hour before, sometimes she doesn't even say anything. After we have already done the labor. Commenter 3: Then NTA. Being a flake isn't a huge deal if you are considerate enough to give decent notice (Controversial, I know). Life gets in the way, or people have their own issues to deal with, or sometimes you just plain and simple can't be bothered. Cancelling with no warning after time, money and labour has went into the plans is being a bad friend. She doesn't value your friendship like you do. If you are constantly the one doing the heavy lifting in a friendship then you need to leave - the foundations of friendship are based on mutual respect and effort, which she is not providing. OOP: This. I personally have been raised to never cancel except in serious emergencies, it's not really the cancellations that have pushed me this far, it's the deliberate and intentional action of knowing I was fully invested into the plans, and she never had to be. Commenter 4: NTA, but don't block her, that escalates things and makes you the bad guy. Next time she says she'd love to get together, tell her you'd love that too, and that she should set it up and let you know if she will be there. Then just don't plan on it happening. If she doesn't have time for you now, and you're not a priority in her life at all, then you definitely won't be spending time with her after the baby is born. So the friendship will slowly peter out on its own at that point, without you having to take any responsibility for it, and without any weird awkwardness in the future. I wouldn't want to be seen as the jerk who blocked her just before she had a baby. So just consider her an old acquaintance and say hi once in a while if she reaches out, but expect nothing else from her. OOP: I’m at the point where that’s my mindset but the thing I’m having trouble coming to terms with is I just want her to feel some type of guilt or something for how’s she’s been. Especially since she seems to think we aren’t good friends to her. Has OOP received any apologies from her friend? OOP: I’ve never received an apology either   Update: June 24, 2026 (one month later) Update: AITAH For Cutting Off my Pregnant "Friend" Who Has Cancelled Last Minute On Everything For The Last 3+ Years. https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/s/QxWPEiqA11 Hi all, please see original post above. My friend had her baby a few weeks ago, a couple of days ago I got contacted by one of her family members. They asked me why I hadn’t come to see her and the new baby and that if I was “so excited” and supportive of her why haven’t I made an attempt to visit. Keep in mind, I’ve done a lot of things this summer so I’m assuming the insecurity came from all of my posts. I happily informed said family member of the constant updates I have asked for, and included screenshots of the times I’ve asked to come see her. No response. I understand that in my previous post I said I had blocked her, but it’s a complicated situation with her being postpartum. The reason why I have unblocked and have reached out is so now I can report to the family member that yes, I have asked to come see them, and no, I’m not getting a response. They apologized immediately and said they were not told the full story. My friend told the family member that she was feeling isolated and alone that she has not had anyone at her house. Essentially, my purpose with this is to show proof of doing everything in my power to not be the person I’m made out to be. I hope at least in this aspect, they can start to put the pieces together and see that she’s being controlled. Still have not received a response btw. Relevant Comments Commenter 1: Glad you have stood up for yourself and set records straight. Pregnancy brain is real so I could see her getting the message and forgetting to respond, but that doesn't excuse her icing you out completely and lying about it like she has. You've done the right steps to protect yourself and I agree that keeping her unblocked for now is a good thing but that'll dropping the rope to low contact is also what's best in this situation. Hope you can enjoy some peace OOP: Thanks. Yes, pregnancy brain is real but doesn’t excuse lying. I don’t think it’s entirely coming from her- she’s isolated because she allowed herself to become that way due to her BD. Commenter 2: Are you saying she devalued your friendship by making plans and cancelling them last minute or are you saying she is being isolated by a controlling boyfriend? Those are 2 very different scenarios. Your first post mentions none of this, this current post alludes to it a couple of times. The advice for you is very different based on is she being controlled or is she just not being a good friend? OOP: I think it’s both, she’s done this for a long time, but the recent isolation is making me think it’s being influenced. The reason why my first post mentions none of it is because her cancelling last minute was not anything new but the isolation is. Commenter 3: Where is the isolation and the idea of her boyfriend being abusive come from? I read the original post, and her partner was barely mentioned. How is she now being controlled? She just seemed like a pregnant flake who's a bad friend. Where is all this other stuff coming from now? OOP: She’s been flakey for a long time. I only mention the isolation because that’s an abuse tactic, it’s hard to know what it is since I’m in the dark. I was just saying it’s a possibility. Commenter 4: I think you're NTA, but it's possible that this isn't the result of abuse. If she was a flaky liar even before her partner, she may have just escalated the behavior because you & everyone else in her life enabled it. You kept letting her disrespect your time & you in general, so once you stop letting it happen she gets all huffy. Like a spoiled child. I really hope she isn't being abused, but c'mon man... If she's always been like this, then it's more likely because it's just the way she is. OOP: Honestly that’s the best case scenario. I’m tired of being nice. Commenter 5: NTA, and I absolutely why you've dropped the rope but... isolating a partner is a common abuse tactic and abuse often starts during pregnancy, so I have some concern for her situation. As long as someone is seeing her and the baby regularly, and they're not in immediate danger, then maybe she can be left to stew for the time being. I just wonder is she ok and just a terrible friend who was already flaky before being postpartum or if she's being coerced into ghosting friends and family since she got into this relationship? OOP: She was flaky before him, but it only worsened after, also yes I agree about the isolation thing which is why I’m glad I have a contact. I want the abuse to be seen for what it is, if it is abuse and him not be able to get away with isolating her. Can OOP tell her friend's family about the suspicions on the boyfriend? OOP: They all think he’s great :/   DO NOT COMMENT IN LINKED POSTS OR MESSAGE OOPs – BoRU Rule #7 THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT OOP submitted by /u/Choice_Evidence1983 to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

'Masters Of The Universe' Review Thread
I will continue to update this post as reviews come in. Rotten Tomatoes: Fresh Critics Consensus: By the power of Grayskull and with a little help from its self-deprecating script and spirited cast, Masters of the Universe is a delightful adventure that finds the humanity in He-Man. Critics Score Number of Reviews Average of Rated Reviews All Critics 67% 186 6.10/10 Top Critics 54% 39 Metacritic: 52 (42 Reviews) Sample Reviews: Perri Nemiroff, Perri Nemiroff (YouTube) 4.5/5 - Was totally swept away by this super vibrant, weird and gleeful romp. It's downright ridiculous but ridiculous works when the cast and crew wholly get the kind of movie they're making and are enthusiastic about going all out to bring it to life. Peter Travers, The Travers Take 2/4 - A better than it should be reboot of a 1980s relic that still falls far short of deserving a hero’s welcome, though He-Man Nicholas Galitzine and scary Skeletor Jared Leto add just the right tone of mocking irreverence. Kyle Smith, Wall Street Journal - A two-hour-plus comedy-and-effects bonanza whose fantasy images are more notable for their quantity than quality, like a digital Golden Corral. Mark Kermode, Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) - It is essentially a load of colorful nonsense. Sara Michelle Fetters, MovieFreak.com 2.5/4 - This bizarre mishmash of comedy, social commentary, and high-flying action never won me over. If anything, it left me frustratingly cold. Glenn Kenny, New York Times - Galitzine, who recently amused in “The Sheep Detectives,” wears the character’s mild goofiness loosely, the better to shake it off when the impressive action sequences start. In these raucous but bloodless scenes, he’s all business, and he delivers. Katie Walsh, Tribune News Service 2.5/4 - One only wishes they might have pushed the camp factor further, as it feels a bit restrained at times. However, it’s Galitzine’s performance that will win you over — he’s truly got the power. Raphael Abraham, Financial Times 2/5 - The sticking plasters of innuendo and self-satire do work for a while and provide some chuckles, but eventually they wear as thin as Skeletor’s loincloth. David Fear, Rolling Stone - Fan-service nostalgiabait that wants you to not take it seriously while also very much taking it seriously. The sarcasm-and-saga methodology is being applied to something that’s too thin to support it. Keith Phipps, The Reveal 3/5 - It works so hard to win over both diehard fans and skeptical outsiders with a combination of self-aware humor and old-fashioned blockbuster spectacle that it’s impossible not to admire both the effort and its modest but undeniably charming results. Amy Nicholson, Los Angeles Times - Leto’s grumbling Brit-inflected baritone is an unrecognizable concoction of trilled r’s and plummy vowels — and the best performance he’s done in years. Nell Minow, Movie Mom B- - It's more likely to please the former 8 years olds who still have their action figures than newcomers of any age. Justin Clark, Slant Magazine 1.5/4 - The film buries its heartening Barbie-style deconstruction under every terrible action-comedy instinct plaguing modern blockbuster filmmaking. Johnny Oleksinski, New York Post 3/4 - No, this decidedly summer flick, directed by Travis Knight, was made solely for your amusement. It’s fun, helium light and doesn’t have a single thought in its dumb head. Jake Wilson, Sydney Morning Herald 1.5/5 - As in the recent Mortal Kombat II, it’s as if the filmmakers were caught between fan service and mockery and opted for a bet each way, banking on the CGI clutter to distract us from overthinking. Zaki Hasan, San Francisco Chronicle - Freed from the burden of contemporary relevance, "Masters of the Universe" succeeds by doing something refreshingly straightforward: telling a rousing fantasy adventure with conviction, humor and heart. Brad Wheeler, Globe and Mail - The film is tons of fun, especially for 14-year-old boys. There are more sword-based double entendres than one can shake a whatever at. Lindsey Bahr, Associated Press 2/4 - The movie might have worked better if it had just gone full Saturday morning cartoon with fewer self-deprecating jokes. But that would have required more conviction about what everyone was making in the first place. David Ehrlich, IndieWire C+ - Galitzine isn’t the comedic tour de force that Gosling was in the “Barbie” movie, but he’s sweet and vacuous in a way that beautifully suits a story about a blond idiot trying to wrestle Olympus away from a power-mad skeleton. Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph (UK) 1/5 - The new He-Man film, Masters of the Universe, might be utterly awful, but in its defence, at least it seems to know it. Larushka Ivan-Zadeh, Time Out 4/5 - Though the script isn’t in the same league as the Barbie movie, it’s kind of like the male equivalent -- providing a heartfelt and timely antidote to the toxicity of the manosphere. While also featuring lots of biff-wallop punch-ups. Odie Henderson, Boston Globe 2.5/4 - The result is a watchable, if overlong, replica of the “He-Man” cartoon. A film made with this much love would have been right up my alley when I was 13. Alas, I’m no longer a teenager. Kevin Maher, The Times (UK) 2/5 - Masters of the Universe is a patchwork misfire that fancies itself as a new Thor: Ragnarok, Flash Gordon or Guardians of the Galaxy without displaying a sliver of originality and which instead frequently trips over its own wildly confused gender politics. Benjamin Lee, Guardian 2/5 - There’s just too much distracting confusion here -- from Galitzine’s unsure performance to the script’s swirl of competing tones to the very question of why this needed to exist -- for it to transport us as we both hope and expect. Brian Truitt, USA Today 3/4 - There’s enough infectious energy and heart to give this sugar-bombed throwback a mainstream appeal more sizable than Galitzine’s impressive deltoids. Tim Grierson, Screen International - An unpredictable, fitfully amusing experience that, unfortunately, fails to sustain its charm over an extended running time. Guy Lodge, Variety - Travis Knight‘s film is so loaded with jokes about its own out-of-time uncoolness that it occasionally seems to be apologizing for its very existence. Helen O'Hara, Empire Magazine 3/5 - A delightfully silly film for a perfectly stupid franchise. It could have had a few sharper lines and more narrative drive, but this should still win over a new generation of He-fans. Kristen Lopez, The Film Maven C+ - Its colors, vivacity, humor, and heart makes it better than anticipated. It's weird in some truly unexpected ways, and Nicholas Galitzine is a charmer. Nick Schager, The Daily Beast - Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, and fans are apt to overdose on it with this rollicking live-action affair. Jesse Hassenger, AV Club C+ - The movie somehow concludes that Adam serves as a beacon for empathy, which has all the conviction of the corporate seminars that the movie briefly attempts to satirize. Frank Scheck, The Hollywood Reporter - The film winds up feeling so much like one of those fringe festival musical theater parodies that you find yourself waiting for the characters to burst into song. Kristy Puchko, Mashable - This He-Man will enrage the manosphere. Donald Clarke, Irish Times 4/5 - Combining the small-screen cartoon’s brash aesthetics – the neon whoosh is sickeningly retro – with sharp, self-conscious wit, this Masters of the Universe dances gaily, to quote This Is Spinal Tap, on the "fine line between clever and stupid". Matt Singer, ScreenCrush 4/10 - Anything but a masterful reboot. Clint Worthington, RogerEbert.com 2.5/4 - When it works, it proves a rollicking underdog space adventure. When it doesn’t, it feels like it’s ashamed of what it truly wants to be. William Bibbiani, TheWrap - Travis Knight’s 'Masters of the Universe' is so blah, and so embarrassed of itself, that it could very well be the final nail in the coffin for 1980s nostalgia. Linda Marric, HeyUGuys 4/5 - Masters of the Universe is fun, colourful, energetic, and entirely comfortable with its own identity. This is the rare franchise revival that remembers why people fell in love with it in the first place. Liz Shannon Miller, Consequence B - Given the choice between a silly take on this material and a grounded one, the silly version feels far preferable. If nothing else, the film is doing its best to have fun. The way playing with one's toys should feel. What I asked for and what I got. My summer nails.
They’re okay, just not as sparkly and seamlessly done. EDIT: About sparkle. I knew something was off when I noticed tech used a velvet matte base over the glitter gel so they could adhere the colored powder. I decided to trust the process as I’m not one to complain to the nail tech and they know more about this stuff than I do. I was just hoping for super glittery nails. submitted by /u/Pirate-Love-13 to r/ExpectationVsReality [link] [comments]

'007 First Light' - Review Thread
Game Title: 007 FIRST LIGHT Platforms: PlayStation 5 (May 27, 2026) XBOX Series X | S (May 27, 2026) PC (May 27, 2026) Nintendo Switch 2 (TBD) Trailers: 007 First Light - Announcement Trailer 007 First Light - Official Launch Trailer Developer: IO Interactive Reviews aggregates: OpenCritic: 91 / 100 - 100% Critics Recommend Metacritic: 88 / 100 Some Reviews (updating): VICE - Brent Koepp - 5 / 5 007 First Light is easily the best James Bond game since GoldenEye and is also one of the better Bond stories told in the last decade. IO Interactive has created a game that is a culmination of all of their best mechanics over the years. 007 First Light has the addicting sandbox gameplay of the Hitman franchise while also having an incredible narrative that matches the quality of Naughty Dog and Rockstar Games. James Bond is finally back and is better than he’s been in years. VGC - Jordan Middler - 5 / 5 007 First Light might just be the best James Bond game ever. The way IOI has translated the Bond fantasy into a 14-hour globetrotting epic is masterful. It's a game full of spectacle, humour, action, and romance. Everything James Bond should be. New Bond owners Amazon must ensure this franchise continues. Windows Central - Jez Corden - 5 / 5 007: First Light felt impeccably polished throughout. I was never disengaged or rushing to completion, even in the slower, stealthier segments — it was often here the characters and world-building shone the most. A huge variety of gameplay locations, gameplay styles, unique activities, set-piece moments, logic puzzles, investigations, platforming, and, honestly, exploration opportunities never left me wanting. The Guardian - Matthew Castle - 5 / 5 It’s that full Bond immersion that 007 First Light will ultimately be remembered for, more so than the odd wonky setpiece scene. I have no doubt that this was made by excitable Bond geeks throwing “what if” moments at a whiteboard. What if you got to explore Q Lab watching underlings test malfunctioning prototypes? What if you were tied to a torturer’s table and had to talk your way out? What if you found yourself at 15,000ft with no parachute? And what if you had access to John Barry’s classic scores and could deploy a staggering needle drop out of nowhere? The Independent - Jake Brigstock - 5 / 5 One of the very first things you’ll notice is just how good 007 First Light looks visually on the whole, both in cutscenes and general gameplay. Especially playing on PS5 Pro where the latest version of PSSR is in use, the game is a feast for the eyes, both in low-light settings and densely packed brighter areas. The lighting in this game is astonishing and the reflections in water and mirrors are equally impressive. In the very first mission, James Bond encounters a broken mirror in a room he sneaks into and the reflection you see is perfect. This level of detail is found throughout the game, and the sound design is equally impressive too, with a superb score, great soundtrack, including tracks from Chase & Status, and immersive, real-world sounds. Digitec Magazine - Philipp Rüegg - 5 / 5 After 30 years, ‘GoldenEye’ is finally retiring. With ‘007 First Light’, IO Interactive – the masterminds behind ‘Hitman’ – delivers the ultimate Bond experience that fans have been waiting for since the N64 classic. Gfinity - Alister Kennedy - 10 / 10 007 First Light is, for me, an absolute masterpiece that shattered all pre-release anxieties and is, in fact, the greatest Bond video game of all time. IO Interactive masterfully balances explosive action with "Hitman"-inspired stealth, all brought to life by Patrick Gibson’s breathtaking, definitive performance as a young James Bond. Equal parts thrilling and cinematic, this incredible experience is a gorgeous love letter to the franchise and a sure-fire Game of the Year contender. MeuPlayStation - Thiago do Nascimento Barros - 100 / 100 007 First Light is all about aura. It honors James Bond's legacy by bringing everything we love about him since the 1960's movies in the ultimate 007 videogame experience. Chases, shootings, explosions, plot twists, politics, charm, Bond Girls, guns, cars, boats, Q Technologies, Moneypenny, M, iconic characters, beautiful locations... All of that with great level design, combat and exploration. The name is Bond, James Bond. Manual dos Games - Luiz Henrique Silva - 10 / 10.0 007 First Light delivers on the promise of being the ultimate James Bond game by introducing a new version of the character that oozes charisma in every second on screen, alongside an excellent storyline supported by memorable side characters who help drive the narrative forward. The game also features an extremely creative level design that fully embraces its stealth and combat systems, making players truly feel like an MI6 spy. GamingTrend - Joe Morgan - 95 / 100 007 First Light is a top-tier game both Bond fans and stealth action gamers will love. It has all the hallmarks of a great Bond film with some of the best stealth action gameplay in the industry. I’m excited to see one of my favorite franchises in the hands of a studio that loves it as much as I do. 007 First Light is worthy of the Bond legacy and easily one of the best games of the year. SECTOR.sk - Peter Dragula - 9.5 / 10.0 007 First Light is a strong new beginning for James Bond in games, combining a deep origin story, varied missions, stealth, action, excellent hand-to-hand combat, precise shooting, impressive visuals and classic Bond atmosphere. A few slower sections and the lack of a body-hiding mechanic are minor issues in an otherwise excellent spy adventure. PPE.pl - Wojciech Gruszczyk - 9.5 / 10.0 007 First Light is the best James Bond game ever – brilliantly written, superbly acted and brimming with that unique atmosphere we’ve come to expect from stories about Agent 007. IO Interactive has combined its own experience from Hitman with a cinematic adventure in the style of Uncharted, throwing in gadgets, spectacular missions, interesting characters and a very well-crafted story of the young Bond. Not everything works perfectly, as the game sometimes holds your hand (a bit too tightly!), but ultimately it’s a brilliant start to a new era of 007 in gaming. GameTyrant - Noah Cochrane - 9.5 / 10 007 First Light delivers the action, style, emotion, and spectacle you want from a James Bond game. It is a masterclass in spydom, and easily one of the most exciting action games of the year. ComingSoon.net - Tyler Treese - 9.5 / 10.0 As stylish as the films themselves, 007 First Light is a brilliant depiction of Bond. As a flawed agent still coming into his own, yet still having the undeniable charm and swagger, this is the most relatable version of 007 yet. It’s also the legendary spy’s best video game adventure since the Nintendo 64, allowing you to really get the full espionage experience, using gadgets, your own problem-solving abilities, and, of course, your trusty pistol to get through some incredibly tense exchanges. The Nerd Stash - Julio La Pine - 9.5 / 10.0 007 First Light is not only the best James Bond video game to date, but also one of the greatest action-adventure titles of this generation, full of jaw-dropping action sequences, a compelling narrative, and superb acting. Atarita - Atakan Gümrükçüoğlu - 93 / 100 Centering on James Bond's origin story, 007 First Light blends action and stealth elements with flawless pacing, delivering that long-awaited, glorious return to the franchise. With its impactful melee combat mechanics, cleverly designed spy gadgets, and stellar acting performances, it places the player directly in the lead role of a breathtaking blockbuster movie. Xbox Achievements - Dan Webb - 92% Even without all that, though, 007 First Light is still undeniably one of the best Bond games ever created – it most certainly gives Goldeneye a run for its money, but for very different reasons, of course. It's a game for action-lovers, Bond-lovers, stealth-lovers, or people who just love a good spy story. It's a wonderfully handcrafted affair that oozes love and care from every faucet. IO clearly did their research and nailed absolutely everything to do with the Bond franchise – Alan Partridge would be proud! And thanks to the elements of the Hitman DNA that run deep, First Light is an espionage game that just nails every aspect of the genre. INVEN - Kyuman Kim - 9.1 / 10.0 After a long stretch in the dark, a truly worthy 007 game has finally arrived. With a young Bond at its center, it delivers nearly everything fans could want from a Bond film—thrilling storytelling, clever twists, and charismatic characters alike. It feels poised to become a new “first light” in the history of 007 games. Metro - David Jenkins - 9 / 10 All of a sudden, it feels like IO Interactive may have been selling themselves short for only focusing on Hitman in the last few decades, because 007 First Light is an exceptional piece of interactive entertainment, that deserves to have a significant influence on the industry at large. DualShockers - Christian Bognar - 9 / 10.0 Creating a new James Bond game after a 14-year hiatus was a risky endeavor by IO Interactive. This is one of the most iconic characters in all of entertainment, and doing him justice is not easy. Somehow, however, IO Interactive pulled it off and not only produced an amazing video game, but also created a story that is worthy of the Bond pantheon. With superb writing, top-notch acting, beautiful cinematography, and expressive gameplay, 007 First Light is as sleek as it is engaging. James Bond is back, baby, and he's never been this cool. Loot Level Chill - Mick Fraser - 9 / 10.0 007 First Light is a superb adventure game, doing for Bond what the Great Circle did for Indiana Jones, and bringing it to modern audiences without compromising a sliver of what makes the character and universe tick. Besides the occasional patch of rough performance (some dropped frames here and there) and some accidentally amusing ragdoll stuff, it runs beautifully on PS5. The campaign is just long enough to satisfy all the requirements, while a raft of extra challenge missions unlock when the story is done to keep you playing long after you’ve rolled credits. Fans of the character will love 007 First Light, while even those who don’t know their Xenia Onatopp from their Pussy Galore will find a slick, thrilling, and supremely well-put-together action game that does so much more than simply coast on the popularity of its franchise. Collider - Samuel R. Murrian - 9 / 10 The narrative and gameplay of the second act could be tighter, but everything leads to a finale that plays out like pure wish fulfillment. Comparisons to GoldenEye and earlier bona fide classic Bond games are likely to be made over the following weeks, but IO has wisely made a game that aims squarely to be its own enterprise. The game concludes on a well-earned, giddy high that's likely to leave fans anxious for a follow-up as soon as the end credits and the thunderous Monty Norman theme roll. PSX Brasil - Ivan Nikolai Barkow Castilho - 90 / 100 007 First Light is an excellent James Bond game: varied gameplay with intelligent approach options, a story worthy of the character's films, beautiful graphics, and great technical performance. The TacSim mode is a great way to increase the title's longevity. Although the campaign features many slow-paced moments with secondary characters and combat animations that repeat frequently, it's an adventure that deserves to be checked out by any 007 fan or action game enthusiast in general. Screen Rant - Kyle Gratton - 9 / 10 Like Q retrofitting Bond's Omega watch, IO Interactive not only knows what the franchise needs, but what makes it tick. With gorgeous and impressively intricate locales, 007 First Light is brimming with trademark James Bond intrigue. There is a world-altering conspiracy threatening king and country to match, and a gameplay loop to get to the bottom of it that's as intoxicating as a vodka martini. But Why Tho? - Matt Sowinski - 9 / 10.0 IO Interactive feels like they've found a new home in the James Bond franchise. 007 First Light is a blast, with a tense and enthralling narrative that punches way higher and harder than anyone could have expected. DayOne - Jon Clarke - 9 / 10.0 With a great cast of characters, tons of imagination, and just the right amount of player agency and replayability, there is a delightful playground full of gadgetry and spycraft that players will want to return to again and again. A confident return for the Double-O program, and - sorry Goldeneye - this is, without a doubt, the best James Bond game ever made. GAMINGbible - Olly Smith - 9 / 10 007 First Light is an exquisite taste of slick spy action and blockbuster storytelling, and is fully what a Bond game should be, but rarely is. Checkpoint Gaming - Omi Koulas - 9 / 10 Despite it taking on more of a typical action game format most of the time, what makes 007 First Light work so well is that IO Interactive hasn’t simply turned Hitman into a Bond game. You can feel the studio’s strengths in the stealth systems and reactive NPCs, plus still get a bit of the sandbox-style exploration, but First Light is far more cinematic and narrative-focused. While some players may want larger, open-ended spaces, the more linear structure ultimately creates a stronger, more personal Bond story without losing the flair IOI is known for. My recommendation: go into this expecting a fun action-blockbuster, and you’ll have a grand ol’ time. Eurogamer - Rick Lane - 4 / 5 First Light isn't the Bond game that I wanted from IO Interactive. But I had a great time with it regardless. IO has proved it was the right studio to handle the license, albeit for different reasons than I expected. Amazon may not have a clue what to do with 007, but letting IO handle the whole shooting match would not be the worst idea. Dexerto - Liam Mackay - 4 / 5 007: First Light is worthy of the Bond legacy, bringing classic spy action to current-gen. It’s everything a Bond game should be and a true spectacle, taking inspiration from the biggest hits with sharp dialogue, inventive gadgets, classic cars, satisfying stealth, a great cast, and huge action set pieces. Its pacing isn’t always perfect, and combat could have more variety, but fans of 007, action, stealth games, and, of course, the Hitman franchise are bound to have a great time. The OuterHaven - George Yang - 4 / 5 007 First Light is the best James Bond game to date. Free from the shackles of licensed titles, First Light is able to tell a compelling origin story filled with political intrigue, espionage, and heart. Along with implementing its own twists on tried and true action adventure gameplay mechanics, 007 First Light comes equipped with beautiful landscapes, creative level design, and tons of replayability. Despite some performance issues and combat woes, this new era of Bond has successfully completed its mission. Wccftech - Alessio Palumbo - 8.5 / 10 From a technical standpoint, 007 First Light is also absolutely excellent. The latest evolution of the Glacier engine delivers great visuals and handles the game's larger levels with ease, never breaking a sweat even at maximum settings and NVIDIA DLAA enabled on a PC with a GeForce RTX 5090 GPU and Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU. There was no stuttering, either, a nice departure from what we're used to seeing in too many PC games. Unfortunately, IO Interactive delayed path tracing to a later update coming this Summer. It would have been ideal to play the game for the first time at its peak visual splendor; on the flip side, if there were optimization issues to iron out, it was definitely best to avoid ruining the launch experience. Gamereactor - Ben Lyons - 8.5 / 10 So yes, 007 First Light has plenty of hits and plenty of misses. In answer to the question earlier, there is enough in this game to give you confidence in IO Interactive and its broader vision for this style of a James Bond game, with plenty of ambition and quality oozing out of every crack. But there is clear room for improvement too, areas that would take this game from being simply an enjoyable and great action-adventure project and elevating it to be something truly unmissable. As it is, you'll enjoy 007 First Light, but it's no Uncharted 4 and it's no Hitman 3, either. PCGamesN - Paul Kelly - 8 / 10 If Hitman is a blank canvas, then First Light is a coloring book; everything is planned out, it's just up to me to fill out the details. I can choose whatever colors I like, in theory, but in the end, the picture looks the same. I'm always improvising a route from A to B, and while it doesn't feel as free-form and creative as IO Interactive's previous jaunts, it's a perfect fit for Bond. IGN - Luke Reilly - REVIEW IN PROGRESS (Very Positive) 007 First Light has made a fabulous first impression, and I’m certainly already quite comfortable to say it’s the best Bond has been since GoldenEye. I’ll be updating this review as soon as I’ve finalised the story and experimented with TacSim mode, which allows us to replay previous missions with extra challenges to earn new rewards. Push Square - Stephen Tailby - REVIEW IN PROGRESS (Very Positive) I'm not quite finished with 007 First Light just yet, but overall I'd say it's exactly what I was hoping for. The characterisation of this young Bond and his associates is really strong, and the globetrotting story lets you explore some great locations. It really shines in its sandbox missions, but shootouts have their moments too, and the whole thing weaves together really quite nicely. I'm really interested to see how the final few missions shake out, but beyond some technical quibbles and uncertainty on the driving, I'm pretty happy with IOI's new vision for James Bond. submitted by /u/ChiefLeef22 to r/gaming [link] [comments]

OPI Summer 2026
My pretties came yesterday and, obviously, I immediately tried my first 2 shades. Love most of the colors, especially the shimmers. Formula-wise: not the easiest. As an OPI girly, I’m used to this. The claim is a collection of highly pigmented, full coverage in 2 coats neon cremes and shimmers. The full coverage claim is false and idk if I’d call these all cremes. I did 3 coats of each color on my swatch palette and at least 4 are still not fully opaque. The shimmers have a fluffy, floam like vibe (anyone know what I’m talking about here?) I wish there was a shimmery purple and orange - I feel like we could have traded a blue or pink to make it happen. OPI has never really done neon orange well and this one is no different. Otherwise I’m so here for the shimmer shades. They’ll be on my fingertips every summer all at the same time because I will always rock a rainbow skittle. TIFU by dressing up for my proposal
I am not the OOP. The OOP is u/Feisty-Ad276 posting in r/tifu Concluded as per OOP 2 updates - Long Original - 12th July 2025 Update1 - 14th July 2025 Update2 - 7th March 2026 TIFU by dressing up for my proposal I (26F) have been with my boyfriend ‘Tom’ (29M) for 6 years, we have lived together for 2 years and have 2 cats but we’re not engaged. I have never pushed him to propose because I am very comfortable in the life we have created and always assumed when he was ready then he will pop the question. Last week I was told by one of his friends to ‘expect something nice’ for our anniversary. She told me I should get my hair and nails done ‘just because I should look nice for my surprise.’ Which I rightly assumed was a proposal. On the weekend, I went shopping with one of my friends and bought a new outfit and got my nails done ready for our weekend away, I was telling her how I think I’m getting engaged and how excited I was to spend the rest of my life with Tom. Last night Tom and I go to leave for dinner from the hotel and I get in my new outfit and spend hours getting ready. When I come out and tell him I am ready he asks if I ‘can actually look nice for once because tonight was special’ I asked him what he meant and he said to me that I always underdress or dress like I’m going to a club when we go to nice places and that I embarrass him. We got in a fight and I ended up walking out and not going to the dinner he had planned to propose to me and I went to my parents house because I was upset. He text me a few hours after I left and asked when I was coming back because he had plans and wanted to know if I picked up a nice outfit for tonight, when I told him I wasn’t coming back he got very angry and said that he was just trying to help me because I would actually want to look nice for today. When I told him I didn’t appreciate him saying that I don’t look nice when I had spent so long getting ready he didn’t understand and said he wanted one night where I looked nice and put effort in. I ended up hanging up on him and haven’t spoken to him since yesterday and his friends have been messaging me asking how the proposal went and I haven’t responded to anybody. He also hasn’t reached out since last night and I don’t know what’s happening now. My friends tell me I’ve done the right thing and that we need to talk about where we go from here. I love him so much but I don’t know that I can look at him the same after finding out how he truly feels about how I look. Have I overreacted or have I fucked up? TLDR: BF was going to propose but told me to actually look nice for once, I stormed out and haven’t spoken to him since last night EDIT TO ADD: We were having a staycation 30 minutes from home to go to the Italian restaurant where he asked me to be his girlfriend 6 years ago, it’s not a fancy or expensive restaurant but it’s our favourite. He was wearing black jeans and a button up short sleeve shirt, I was wearing a floral knee length dress. Dinner was booked for 7pm and we were leaving the hotel room at 5pm to go for a walk/drinks beforehand. The dress may not be ‘fancy’ or ‘dressed up’ for most people but it’s the nicest dress I now own and is dressed up for my style Comments Echeveria1987 Not over acting. Has he expressed these feelings before? Do you know what he means by “nice”? I’m assuming you didn’t get a clubbing outfit but I don’t know. It’s definitely something that needs to be discussed, and you should express rationally that you DID put in effort and feel hurt by what he said OOP: I wore an knee length white floral dress to go to dinner, he’s said before he wished that my style was ‘classier’ which I tried for this dinner But never said specifically that he doesn’t like what I wear OOP: Hi sorry, I didn’t realise so many people would want to know what I was wearing, I don’t have a photo of me in the dress but I bought and was wearing this which I thought was beautiful? dress cuavas That's a classic casual summer dress. That's not dressed for clubbing. I wouldn't have a problem with it. It really sounds like he was a jerk about it. JazzVacuum Didn't fuck up. 6 years in is a little late to complain about how you dress, especially in such a stupid rude way. You leaving angry and him asking if you went to pick up something nice is an even bigger red flag. Obviously doesn't know how much effort you put in and doesn't appreciate it. I would talk it out since you've been together so long and you seem to care for him but you dress for you, not him and he needs to realize that. Update - 2 days later Hi everybody, Very sorry for going MIA for the past few days. It’s been a lot since my original post. I ended up speaking to my boyfriend the day after everything went wrong and I went to sleep at my parents house, basically he apologised for everything he said and that he was incredibly stressed over proposing and everything bubbled to the surface. I told him this wasn’t good enough and while I appreciated him apologising, I didn’t accept it and I felt I deserved better than that. To paraphrase a very long conversation, the proposal is off the table for now. But neither of us are prepared to throw away a six year relationship over this. For more context we met at a rave, and do continue to go to raves as it’s something we enjoy to do together which is why I normally dress like we’re going ‘clubbing’ I feel like posting on Reddit opened my eyes to a side of our relationship that I had tried to close off. While I do love him, there are things in our relationship that I’m not happy with, and things that he’s not happy with either that we have both compromised on that we’re not sure are compatible in the long-term. I’m going to stay at my parents for awhile, while he goes back to the house that we own together and we are spending time together, but also apart trying to rebuild what we have. I have shown him the Reddit post that I made and he agreed that his comments weren’t about the dress but about the moment. We are both committed to each other and this relationship wherever that leads but with new expectations and reservations towards each other. There are things we both could’ve done differently which we acknowledge and at this point I’m just trying to see what the future looks like for us, if romantically or not. Thank you so much to everybody who was genuinely helpful, you have no idea how much I needed it at the time and now. TLDR: had a very hard conversation with my boyfriend about the comments made about me and we are seeing what the future holds while also spending time apart Comments Notherbastard The hardest conversation now will still be easier than a divorce in 5 years. Good luck to you both. Don't give up! Valiant_Strawberry Idk I’m not as optimistic about this update as yall seem to be. You were walking out the door for him to propose to you and instead of focusing on hoping you say yes, how excited he is to spend his life with you, how much he loves and adores everything about you; he chose to focus on how much he hates the way you dress. I was so stressed before my wedding that I vomited every morning for a week from nerves and still managed not to say anything cruel or nasty to my now husband. You really wanna be with somebody who defaults to being cruel to you (on what he intended to be one of the most important days of your life) because he’s a little stressed? What happens in six years when your toddler has been screaming in his ear for two hours and shows no sign of stopping? Going even farther, you have a goth teenage daughter who wants to wear black to an event where he doesn’t find that appropriate, is he going to call her names and belittle her for her clothing choices the way he just did you? Do whatever works for you, but I’d be incompatible with someone whose response to stress was to belittle me and try to make me feel like shit for totally normal reasonable actions/choices. Update - 8 months later Hi Reddit! A lot has happened since my original post last July I’m not hopeful a lot of people remember me but I wanted to update to let you know what’s happened since then! (This is going to be long sorry) So I broke up with my boyfriend of 6 years ‘Tom’ after all this happened because you all gave me the reality check I needed to leave him after this whole shitshow unfolded. We went no contact and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in figuring out how to live without being with him (don’t worry I had the cats) and I truly only made it through with the support of friends and family showing up in ways that I never imagined. I’ve never been so broken but so loved at the same time. On the 24th of October (3 months post breakup) I got a call from his mother that he had been taken to hospital by ambulance 2 days prior after having a seizure at work and he was asking for me. I let her know I appreciated the update but I was living 3 hours away from where they were and wouldn’t be dropping everything to see him right now but that I hoped he was okay. She then told me he had a (benign) tumor in his frontal lobe which was discovered after he was brought in which was being removed in emergency surgery and that I should be there for him. I told her no. On December 17th Tom turned up to my house (I was living with my family) and was refusing to leave until I saw him. I went out the front and he explained that he wasn’t himself in July and that the tumour had been affecting his decision making/emotional regulation and to please just give him a chance. So we went for dinner that night. And I fell in love with him all over again. He was exactly the man I had loved all these years and there was no hint of the man who belittled me over a $300 dress while he wore a $40 button up and jeans. But that one night didn’t change everything for me, we still weren’t together but now we weren’t no contact. We started texting, and then calling almost daily and it was like nothing had happened when we spoke. He had kept asking me to come home to him and I said no every time… almost. I went ‘home’ to him on February 6th under the guise of getting the last of my things and to say goodbye to the house I called home for so long, but a few days being back home I realised I didn’t want to leave and that I wanted to try again. I stayed there for the weekend and on the 8th when I went to leave I kissed him, and then some 👀 We started dating again, and everything has been wonderful. His health is going well and he is exactly the man I knew before. He tells me I’m the most beautiful woman when I’m in my sweats on the couch, he packs me lunch for work, he takes me out to dinner ‘just to show the world how lucky he is’. He’s the love of my life and last weekend I officially moved back into our house. Last night he took me to our old favourite Italian restaurant and asked me if I would marry him, I said yes. I was wearing dirty jeans and a sweater and he was in his sweats and a t shirt. It. Was. Perfect. So basically love is real and I’m getting married. Sorry reddit I know this probably isn’t the update you wanted, but we’re happy now and hopefully this is my last update! Love you all x TLDR: I broke up with my boyfriend, went no contact and moved away, he had a brain tumour removed then he spent 4 months trying to get me back. He showed up at my door, we start dating again and got engaged yesterday Comments MistressLyda "Trust, but verify." A friend of mine did go through a damn similar situation a while ago. I would, strongly, suggest you talk with his doctor. Wrap it in concern if needed, that you want to know how it impacts his life in the future, and if it can come back. I do genuinely hope this story is real though. OOP: Thank you so much for this, I’m going to call on Monday to see when I can organise a chat with his doctor cheesypuzzas Have you talked to his doctor? I wouldve wanted to find out of it was really the tumor changing his personality or if it's just the regret but he still feels the same way. OOP: I haven’t actually… maybe I’ll call on Monday AdjectiveMcNoun You can't just call up his doctor. They can't talk to you about someone else's medical condition without written consent. You can ask your boyfriend to take you to you to the doctor and have him explain everything because you want to know more. bulkhulk Dosent he have a nice scar that you could verify it by? OOP: He absolutely does! And I’ve seen the photos from post op but I never got confirmation about the personality changes Raganox Look, people here have no idea what they are talking about. The doctor won’t tell you anything bcs that would be extremely illegal, best you can do is ask him to get a copy of his medical records to show you. Paints you in a non trusting light so that’s up to you to decide. If you have seen a scar and post op photos he probably is not faking the tumor. The impact of brain tumors is a guessing game too, the location can be a clue but how it affects us and to what degree, that no one can tell you for absolute certain. But the frontal lobe does affect personality expression and seizures are the most common debut symptom for brain tumors so thats that OOP: I definitely don’t think he’s faking the tumour, but maybe I’ll ask to see the medical reports just for peace of mind. I don’t think he would have a problem with showing me either I am not the OOP. Please do not harass the OOP. Please remember the No Brigading Rule and to be civil in the comments submitted by /u/SharkEva to r/BORUpdates [link] [comments]

Title: Amazon SDE Intern - fumbled one round, nailed the other. cooked?Summer 2026 canada
had my amazon sde intern final interview today. two rounds same day. round 1 (with SDM): behavioral was solid, real stories with metrics, interviewer seemed engaged. technical was a leetcode medium. i identified the right pattern and data structures immediately but when the interviewer asked me to explain fully before coding he suggested a different approach and it threw me off. spiraled, couldn't recover, barely wrote any code. not gonna sugarcoat it the technical was bad. round 2 (with SDE): completely different energy. behavioral was even stronger than round 1. technical was a leetcode easy-medium, identified the optimal approach right away, wrote clean code, explained time and space complexity. felt really good about this one. so overall: behavioral strong in both rounds, technical bad in one good in the other. do both interviewers score independently?Whats the weight age, if that even matters unless you’re expected to nail both. anyone been in a similar spot and still gotten the offer? or am i cooked? hearing back in 5 business days. submitted by /u/Ok-Requirement-2924 to r/leetcode [link] [comments]

My (30sF) twin (M) doesn’t want me at his wedding
I am NOT OOP. OOP is u/sigbacc Originally posted to r/whatshouldido + r/weddingdrama My (30sF) twin (M) doesn’t want me at his wedding Trigger Warnings: possible controlling behavior, entitlement ---- Editor's note: I am adding two previous posts for more context to the current situation Brother is being vague about wedding plans: December 28, 2025 Editor's note: this post's body text was saved before it was deleted Hey reddit, I don't know where else to go so I'm writing here and hoping to stay anonymous as possible. I (33F) moved abroad, more than a 10 hour flight from my hometown / most of my family and on another continent. In July, I had some tensions with my twin brother, nothing serious but we didn't really speak to each other, and following that he got engaged to his girlfriend of four years. I made a trip home in November and saw him, there was no animosity and I even asked if I should stay my final night at his place since he’s near the airport - which he immediately agreed to but in the end it didn't pan out because I wasn’t comfortable taking all my luggage and a small child on the train - but I’m emphasizing the point there wasn't any hard feelings or anything around it. Instant yeses, lots of love, nothing unusual in fact. Me and my brother love each other and we may bicker or go radio silent but it is never anything serious. In November, to my face he says he didn't have a wedding date, they were thinking end summer (which I took to mean third week of September) and he specifically said don't book anything travel wise. Later, I get a text from a family member saying they will see me on August 22nd. I did à double take and asked if they are sure that the date is set, they informed me they were told this specific date was penciled in. So tentative, but not in ink. I got back to my brother but he didn't respond. As flights for me are going to be expensive no matter what, and I will have to find childcare (since I was told it's a childfree wedding) there is a big difference in September flight prices and August. But now my brother isn't responding to my messages, and I'm asking for clarification on if I'm invited and what dates are as travel cost is only going to go up for me. He hasn't responded and I'm not sure what to do, I get the feeling that he will wait until travel is too expensive to invite me, so it looks like I'm the one who refused. Until now there has been no question that I'd be invited and I have made it clear I'll make the trip for him. Also, I have a feeling the bride doesn't want me there, she certainly made a point to separate us when they came to visit because I literally would look at my brother and just laugh, without instigation, because we are just deliriously happy and goofy and ridiculous around each other. I know its odd for those who witness and friends have said its like we are "in our own world" so I can respect the bride not wanting me there. If it would make her special day all the more special if I were not there I’m happy to accommodate (and save money by not traveling to a wedding where I'm not wanted) but the mixed signals and silence is throwing me off a bit here, because he knows my ticket is going to become unaffordable if they wait until June or July to invite me. So what should I do ? Am I overthinking this ? Any help is appreciated Relevant Comments Commenter 1: You’re way overthinking, but understandably since you’re international. You are making your brother anxious with your anxiety though. Planning a wedding is a lot of stress & you’re adding to that pressure by asking for plans not finalized. I’d shut down too. If you’re really concerned about flight & trip expenses, open up an airline specific credit card. Most give points for referrals & no interest the first year. Can easily cover the whole trip & slowly pay it off. You should get into therapy for anxiety & stress management. In the most gentle way possible, it’s not normal to be this anxious. Weddings & large family gatherings bring up strong feelings & weird behavior in people. Look at therapy as an extended investment in the trip & in your health. OOP: I really appreciate this, and the time taken to respond - thank you ! I didn't think I was being overly anxious, I think my guard is up because I was told by my brother not to make plans, while other family members are given an exact date and info like it's child free. (I have a son who will be 10 at that time) So that has for sure confused me, especially since I know brides side will be flying in so I'm sure they are given advance/planning time. Their flight is 3 hrs., same country and mine is much longer and international. Is it unreasonable to expect to be given advance notice or at least info that's congruent with what others are told? If there is anxiety, it's coming from that - being told one thing and hear something totally different from others. I'm a bit thrown by that I will for sure let up on my bro though, I don't wanna put added stress on him. I needed that perspective. I've never spent money I don't have or signed up for a credit card, but what I can do is invest in a ticket that has insurance / flexibility. But for that I at least need dates, because I was told end summer and heard instead August 22nd. Commenter 2: Don’t listen to rumors from a game of telephone, wait for an invite with details. Your brother specifically said don’t book travel yet. Probably because they’re still negotiating on venue. August 22nd is the end of summer. September 1st is considered fall where I’m from. I’m sure they’ll let you know soon, but don’t have contracts signed yet. “Reasonable advanced warning” varies couple to couple. Some send out save the dates 2 years in advanced. Others are more last minute planners & may send out an invite 2 months before (this is less common). Every society, culture & couple has a different standard. It’s understandable you want an answer to plan, but there’s really nothing you can do but wait & save up. OOP: Thank you ! I will do exactly that. For me, delay increases price and honestly, if he waits too long it won't be doable. I hope my family understands if that's the case and I'm not blamed for it. My husband works in medical, and his schedule is booked out way in advance, but he will be the one taking time off as well, just to stay home with our lad. Commenter 3: Have you actually called him? Texting is great but phone calls are better… If you can’t get a response from him then talk to your mom/dad. Call the bride to be… If all of that fails then send your brother a final text… “Hey, I have tried every possible way to confirm your wedding date with no success. Person X says it will be August 22nd, but I need to hear it from you. At this point it feels as though I am not wanted at the wedding, if that’s true it’s okay but, please tell me. If I am invited to the wedding I need to know soon. If I wait too long I will not be able to afford the plane tickets to attend. This is my last attempt at getting confirmation. If I don’t hear from you I will not be attending. This is not my choice, but due to the circumstances it will be the end result. I hope to hear from you soon!” OOP: This is really helpful, thank you. I'll for sure call him Commenter 4: How can you receive backlash for not attending a wedding to which you weren't invited? It's weird that you haven't picked up the phone, but so far his lack of communication indicates he's not prioritizing you attending his wedding. If your main purpose in going is to avoid backlash, your family has bigger issues than you should budget for. Decide if you even want to go and then call your twin, not the bride or your mom. OOP: Picking up the phone, means using my landline to avoid incurring a cost to him, and also organizing with him a time (since my time zone is 9hrs ahead) that we are not only both awake but not working. I don't have social media or apps that can allow internet calls except WhatsApp. So picking up the phone is doable but not simple. + As for the backlash, my family knows how close we are and even from infancy we were inseparable, we were like salt and pepper. We were the babies of the family too, so the older siblings all saw our bond. They would be disappointed if I wasn't there, and ashamed if I myself avoided it. I wouldn't willingly avoid it, but looking at prices now I'm seeing the cost is already much different than what it was in November Is the bride jealous of OOP? OOP: I don't think she is jealous, at least I hope not - but I am essentially a broke farmer type, or like - stay at home mom who has a horse business that just covers my own horse expenses type thing, and she on the other hand makes a ton of money working remote and traveling all over and isnt shy about it, even calling herself "moneybags" jokingly. But when they were here she for sure had a problem with my brother and I's closeness, and I hate that because I can't perceive it but even friends have said they felt excluded because of it. Whatever it is, is because we are twins - not because we nurture or even try to have a good relationship, we hated each other most of the time but also like oddly would always show up dressed in matching colors and other weird quirks like that. But she magically got over her carsickness and no longer needed to ride in front at the tail end of a six hour road trip because me and my twin were laughing to tears, I can't even remember what about because sometimes just a look or nod is enough to send me   Brother isn't responding and flight prices are growing: January 5, 2026 (eight days later) So my (35F) twin (35M) is getting married. In October, while I was in my home country, to my face he said "We are thinking end summer, don’t plan anything or buy tickets" I'm à 10hr flight away on another continent. But that same time, parents were saying it's August 22nd. Now I'm still hearing it's August 22nd and that of course I'm included but I have no news from the couple. It's been recommended I buy a flexible ticket for August 22nd but at this point, as I'm not invited, I didn’t see why to get a ticket. Ill get huge backlash if I'm not there, honestly probably disowned. I get the feeling I'm not welcome - but that they will wait I until prices are ridiculous so it seems like its my fault for not going. I have called, left voicemails, iMessages, etc. I don’t have a way to group chat and include everyone on one app because I don’t have social media, but it wouldn't help anyway because if I go to my parents they will tell me to figure it out between us - he has kinda been the golden child and already I told my mom and sent her the screenshots and she said "He is busy living his life" and my dad told me not to put pressure on them since they are planning a wedding and it's already stressful. edit: got a message from my brother just now. it says please do not plan on attending our wedding honestly it feels nice to have closure on the matter. best of luck to him. Screenshots of the text messages Editor's note: OOP made duplicate screenshots of the text messages, I have attached two screenshots that are in chorological order The text messages are from OOP only to her twin brother OOP: Hello Can you please respond to my message so I can plan my next year accordingly? Appreciated OOP OOP: Hey I just left a voice-mail Let me know when a good time is for a phone call Thanks OOP OOP: Hey [Twin Brother] When is a good time to call? OOP: Hey I need to be able to plan accordingly if I'm invited to your wedding. If I don't hear from you I'll take it I'm not invited, but parents are saying im included. If it helps, I can just take à flexible/refundable ticket for August 22nd, child free, Seattle area. If I'm not invited, no hard feelings, just give me the courtesy of letting me know OOP: Ticket prices have already grown considérablement from October. Delay incurs penalty to me so I need communication End of transcriptions of the text messages Relevant Comments Commenter 1: That sounds like a really sucky situation to be in, it’s very clear your brother is intentionally not responding. Whether it be because you aren’t invited to the wedding or he’s trying to make you look bad, you probably won’t get anywhere with him. Your parents are making dumb excuses for him too, he should have the common decency to at least say that he’s busy and arrange a time to talk later. You mentioned that there would be backlash if you aren’t there and that it’s possible that they’re waiting until the last minute to tell you about an invite so you can’t afford a ticket and you would look bad not showing up. If that’s the case and if you can afford it and you are able, I would suggest buying a fully cancellable/refundable ticket for that date now. That way you have all of your bases covered and regardless of if you actually use the ticket or not, you will at least have some upper hand on the situation without risk to your finances. OOP: I don’t know why but your words feel so reassuring. I feel like I'm going crazy by simply asking for communication, and being expected to make a huge trip yet not even given the courtesy of à response. How long has OOP been waiting for a response from her twin brother? OOP: December 27th. He sent me a message on the 25th, à response to my Merry Christmas but nothing since. But in October he said to my face not to book. Parents are all telling me of course I'm included and I'd better be there. No matter what I do I'm penalized. Commenter 1: Well if he told you not to book then why are you asking him when to book? Penalized? Aren't you 33? You're an adult how do you're parents penalize you? OOP: They will disown me, not visit anymore, be openly dissapointed. And yes, he said not to book but parents are saying I'd better be there and of course I'm included. I'm asking him for communication at this point, or to at least confirm I'm not invited so I don't have to worry about it anymore. Edit spelling Downvoted Commenter: As someone planning a wedding the end of this year, the idea of a sibling pestering ne thus much when I haven't finalized a date yet sounds like a nightmare. I feel bad for your brother. You have plenty of time to buy a ticket for gods sake. If you aren't sure it is really Aug 22 (no I would not trust parents 100%), or not sure if your invited, then just wait and stop pestering the poor couple. OOP: So I'm expected to fly international and you're telling me the social norm is not even à response to my messages ? Why would you accept this behavior? Commenter 2: I wouldn't even plan on going at this point. He doesn't deserve you to be there acting like this anyway. If you hear from him and the tickets are too expensive then tell him that but I'd drop it and also tell your Mom you're not going to wait around waiting to even see if I'm invited. OOP: This^ yep. I'm balancing this against the backlash I'll recieve for not going. Commenter 3: I'm a guy and let tell you what is going on. Your brother isn't sure he should get married in 2026. Maybe he has the jitters and afraid you'll tell your parents and they will put even more pressure on HIM (edit). It's 8 months away and it's not set. He's stuck telling you to hold off and worried how that will come across. Him ghosting you is not good, though. Just say this " I know you have a lot going on. If you need to talk about anything, it's in my vault as always. When and if you get married, I'll be there. " Or the bride doesn’t like you, and she said no to the invite. OOP: Woahhhhh ok I'm gonna say this. He was almost pressured into an engagement in 2022, and when it didn’t happen she set an ultimatum. Date passed but also as years went on our fam kind of got upset with him and said 'either sh** or get off the pot' and stringing her along knowing she wanted marriage wasn't fair. So your words are hitting à certain kinda way.. + Ah, to respond, not sure I did anything to the bride but I have gotten the feeling from the jump she doesn't like me. Also, it is her day - I am totally fine to make it the best day possible, especially if that includes my absence. But as I have no communication, I don't wanna assume. Our friends have said me and my twin are "in our own world" and its hard for the 'observers' but I can't perceive it from the interior, me and he were polar opposites/enemies in high school. So take of that what you will Is there a possibility that they could be eloping with just the parents? OOP: No she has been talking about her wedding for years before they were even engaged, she wants à big wedding. In October he said he is just agreeing to whatever she wants Why doesn't OOP contact the bride? or other family members regarding the wedding? OOP: I contacted other family members today. The bride, I have only éver had a superficial relationship. Nothing bad, but not close.   Editor's note: below is the original title of this BoRU Original Post: January 12, 2026 (one week later) Just as the title says. I got the vibe I wasn't invited and his fiancé hates me but our parents kept saying of course I was included and made me feel ridiclous for thinking I wasn't, since we have been so close for most of our lives. For context we are fraternal (boy girl) twins in our thirties (I'm the girl) and never really had any major beef that would warrant this; but it is what it is. I live in another country and on another continent so it's at least a 10 hour flight if I could get a direct, so I needed time in advance but as I hadn't been invited of course I didn't book a ticket, and I would never crash a wedding - my god im so non confrontational, just the thought of wedding crashing is terrifying. In October I was in my home country But now I have it confirmed I'm not invited. Photo I'll put in comments Editor's note: please note OOP has posted the same messages of the text messages she sent in the original post, but I am adding the newer text messages that were from OOP's brother here. I am putting the text messages in chorological order based on the timeline OOP's brother's response to OOP's last message regarding the ticket prices have already gone up Brother: Please not plan on attending our wedding OOP: Please not plan on attending our wedding Alright, no problem, thanks for letting me know. Relevant Comments Commenter 1: Sounds like a conversation with your brother is in order. OOP: I don't think I'll be heard Commenter 2: Dang that’s messed up. There was no previous issues? OOP: Oh, that's a great question! Nothing huge, a little bit of gossipy juvenile stuff but nothing that would warrant being uninvited In October, while I was in my home country, to my face he said "We are thinking end summer, don’t plan anything or buy tickets" I'm à 10hr flight away on another continent. But that same time, parents were saying it's August 22nd. I said maybe I'm not invited and they brushed it off and on said of course I am, then I reminded them that in 2022 - wayyyy before the couplé was engaged, the bride had been taling about her wedding and excluding people. My dad's wife then took my text immediately to my twin brother and it started a bit of drama, he was acting shocked and denying she said that yet here we are, and as I thought, I'm not invited. It isn't exactly subtle that his fiancé absolutely hates me OOP on being fraternal twins with her brother OOP: Yeah being a twin is wild, I can't even describe. We show up in matching colors - sometimes matching outfits without ever meaning to. Or finish each other's thoughts/songs stuck in the head; outloud. It certainly is a bummer OOP responds to multiple comments about cutting communication with her brother. If OOP's parents keep pestering about attending, show the text messages to the parents OOP: Oh that's à great point! I showed parents, mom asked what I did to him to deserve this and I kinda had to explain that in the end its their decision, and dad is silent but I have no doubt dad is going to support him, and still sponsor the wedding in part. I have shared it within the fam so I won't get backlash for not being there and also got some counseling from older generations, which helps. What has the rest of the family think about this situation and the text messages? OOP: Aside from parents? Mainly saying I don't deserve this, and applauding me being the bigger person and offering to buy a flexible ticket buy also from the jump saying I shouldn't go because it really felt to everyone like I'm not invited Any possibilities that the fiancée could be isolating OOP's twin brother? OOP: Not sure if she's isolated him, but I'll say we went on a trip through Europe with his friends (I know, like the movie Euro Trip but absolutely not like the movie) and his friends had remarked that me and him are in our own little world, and it's difficult for the observers because we communicate so subtly it's impossible for others to pick up on, but as a party to it I have no idea how to perceive that (if that makes sense) And yeah when we are together we are deliriously happy idiots, it's like we are instantly handicapped or something, I don't know how to describe it, but I totally understand that me not being there would make it à better day for her. Commenter 3: I am getting major Golden Child vibes. I take you have lived at the shadow of your brother all your life? Did your parents always expected you to bend to his will? Did his wants take precedence to your needs? For anyone, let alone a parent to automatically go with “What did you do to deserve this?” There are some fucked up dynamics there and you need to think long and hard about your upbringing. OOP: Very perceptive, you nailed it. It was never fair but especially my dad has always been proud of him and he did well, was one of the popular kids and I was a total outcast, my big detrement was pulling me from a successful school so he could be in an honor program in a new school and that's when I gave up   Update: January 27, 2026 (over two weeks later) So tonight my kid went to hospital. He's home now, not out of the woods yet, but turns out he's been constipated for weeks and nearly had occlusion, or a rupture of some sort. Two enemas later and he's just ok, he will see his doctor tomorrow. I may have been too harsh on my twin here but he cut out of his wedding in such a cold way, and then after ignoring me for weeks he comes in while I'm dealing with this. He went weeks with no message response, couldn't be bothered, and then sends me this; https://www.tumblr.com/sigbac/806943828381777920 update again; https://www.tumblr.com/sigbac/806945281201586176 Updated screenshot of newer text messages Editor's note: again, please note OOP has posted the same messages of the text messages she sent in the original and update posts, but I am adding the newer text messages that were from OOP's brother here after the first update. I am putting the text messages in chronological order based on the timeline Brother: Hoping [OOP's son] is doing better after his enema** OOP: Are you fuckin serious? You ice me out then tap in right now when I'm going through this?** OOP: You really think while my kid is in the hospital is appropriate time to decide to start talking to me again? End of the transcript Relevant Comments Commenter 1: To reject you so coldly and cruelly then send this bland message during a time of maximum stress. No. People who treat me that way don’t get to parachute back into my life at their whim. OOP: He flipped the nature of our relationship and then we don't even really fleshed out what if any relationship we are gonna have so it came off as kinda how he was in high school, thinking he was better than me because he was preppy/popular and I was a "shop-tard" What is a "shop-tard"? Commenter 2: Guessing a kid who does a lot of technical skills classes like auto shop, wood shop, or metal shop OOP: Yep, spot on Commenter 3: Maybe I'm reading too much into this terse message but....is he being snarky? Your child didn't just need an ordinary enema. He was deobstipated, a medical treatment for a serious condition. He didn't just have a tummy ache. He had a bowel blockage that was threatening to rupture. Was your twin intentionally minimizing while pretending to be concerned? OOP: This! Yeah, mentioning the enema felt off to me. My poor kid had a severe fever for six days and when he was having stomach pains tonight I took him to the emergency room. It's wasn't just an enema but mentioning the enema is kind of - well its personal for the lad and for some reason it hit weird for me Commenter 4: This probably has already been covered, but what do your parents think about all this? OOP: Dad is supporting them, he and I are pretty low contact. He was telling me even in late October when I went to our home country that my bro(35m) was giving tension with his fiancé (28f) and dad had been advising him to just give the bride whatever she wants since it's her spécial day Mom asked me what I did to piss him off - kinda made it seem like my fault?   DO NOT COMMENT IN LINKED POSTS OR MESSAGE OOPs – BoRU Rule #7 THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT OOP submitted by /u/Choice_Evidence1983 to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

Nioh 3 Review Thread
Game Information Game Title: Nioh 3 Platforms: PC (Feb 6, 2026) PlayStation 5 (Feb 6, 2026) Trailer: Review Aggregator: OpenCritic - 86 average - 95% recommended - 82 reviews Critic Reviews ACG - Jeremy Penter - Buy "Nioh 3 rises above some occasional bugs and a couple stinker bosses to be an excellent representation of the middle ground between the older more rigid Dark Souls styles of games and the wider Elden Ring. The two class system works well enough and the game has enough systems to keep almost anyone locked into mini maxing for the next 4 months" AltChar - Denis Haman - 10 / 10 Nioh 3 delivers everything Nioh fans wanted - refined combat, smoother progression, and gorgeous visuals - without sacrificing the brutal challenge that defines the series. This is iterative design at its finest. Analog Stick Gaming - Jordan Andow - 8.5 / 10 If you haven’t played Nioh before but you enjoy soulslikes and character action games, then this is definitely a game you need to try. Its focus on player choice in approach, combined with more cinematic storytelling than its competition have made it my favourite game in the genre so far. Atarita - Seyidcem Öztürk - Turkish - 85 / 100 With its deep, enjoyable combat and build variety, Nioh 3 stands out mechanically but falls short in terms of visuals and story. Boomstick Gaming - Boomstick Alex - Yes Nioh 3's combat system has achieved perfection But Why Tho? - Abdul Saad - 8 / 10 Nioh 3 is a fantastically crafted game that blends several intricate and engaging elements to produce a great combat experience. While it has some issues that hinder gameplay, it’s still one of the most engaging soulslikes. CGMagazine - Zubi Khan - 7 / 10 Nioh 3 expands on the formula even further than what came before it, taking lessons learned from games like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Rise of the Ronin. COGconnected - Mark Steighner - 92 / 100 Nioh has always perched between being niche and mainstream. Nioh 3 should help this excellent series broaden its audience while appealing to long-time fans as well. Lovers of Soulslikes, Team NINJA’s games, and well-made action titles in general won’t be disappointed. Capsule Computers - Travis Bruno - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 evolves the series with open‑field exploration, brutal Crucibles, and a fresh Ninja style, delivering a tough but rewarding sequel despite a few lingering flaws. Cerealkillerz - Gabriel Bogdan - German - 9.1 / 10 Nioh 3 combines all of Team Ninja’s previous ventures into different genres into a comprehensive overall package, offering what is arguably the best gameplay the series has seen so far. The open areas and equipment management may not appeal to every fan of the series, but aside from that, this is one of the studio’s best games to date. We also recommend playing the title in Japanese, due to the poor English voice acting. Cloud Dosage - Jon Scarr - 4.5 / 5 Nioh 3 pushes you to actually use everything it gives you instead of letting one approach carry the whole game. Switching between Samurai and Ninja becomes part of how fights work, and the larger areas give you space to prepare when things feel overwhelming. The story mostly stays out of the way, and loot management can get tiring, but combat stays rewarding once it comes together. It’s demanding, but it gives you room to figure things out without lowering the bar. Console Creatures - Console Creatures Guest - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 fractures Team Ninja’s formula, pushing players to master brutal Samurai power and lethal Ninja agility in every demanding encounter. Digitale Anime - Raouf Belhamra - Arabic - 9.5 / 10 "The pinnacle of the series" Nioh 3 cements Team Ninja's position as one of the top developers of action fighting games. The wide variety of combat systems, the freedom to create characters, and the semi-open level design give the game a strong identity and a cohesive experience. Despite some minor visual quibbles, the technical performance, depth of mechanics, and battle design make it a high-quality experience aimed at players seeking challenge and precision. DualShockers - Scott Baird - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 is an incredible game that expands on the core gameplay of its predecessors and drops players into a vast world where they can unleash their combat potential to their heart's content. It's a huge step-up for the series as a whole, and I'm excited to see where it goes next. EmuGlx.org - Vladimir Glamočanin - Unknown - 9.5 / 10 When you take everything into account, what you get is a fusion of Team Ninja’s incredible attention to detail and clear love for the Nioh series, seamlessly wrapped - albeit rarely so well - into an open-world structure with an outstanding exploration-reward system. As a result, despite a few questionable design choices, you’re left with an exceptional game that never becomes dull for a single moment. Entertainium - Eduardo Rebouças - 5 / 5 Koei Tecmo have gone the extra mile in delivering the most ambicious and positively delicious soulslike with Nioh 3. (Review written in Portuguese for Entertainium Brasil) Eurogamer - Dom Peppiatt - 4 / 5 Innovation is the ki to success for Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo, as Nioh 3 iterates on the formula once more to take an already great 'masocore' series to new heights. Eurogamer.pt - Bruno Galvão - Portuguese - 4 / 5 As a huge Team Ninja fan who has played all their games, it's impossible not to feel that Nioh 3 has become their new benchmark. It continues the work done in Nioh 2, shows that it has learned from Rise of the Ronin and injects new energy with well-implemented mechanics. EvelonGames - Joel Isern Rodríguez - Kaym - Spanish - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 is the natural evolution of a franchise that has truly listened to its community. It retains the hardcore essence and complexity we love, while injecting freshness through the new Ninja Style and open-field exploration. Although it isn't technologically flawless in its larger environments and the narrative won't be winning any Oscars, the gameplay at the controls is, quite simply, second to none. GAMES.CH - Benjamin Braun - German - 88% Quote not yet available Game Rant - Josh Cotts - 9 / 10 With its Ninja style, Style Shift system, and open-field design, Nioh 3 pushes movement and player freedom further than any entry before it. GamePro - Samara Summer - German - 83 / 100 Quote not yet available GameSpew - Richard Seagrave - 10 / 10 With its new open field format, Nioh 3 is undoubtedly the best entry in the series yet, giving players more freedom to explore and making the experience feel more seamless. Add on top of that additional new features, such as the ability to switch between samurai and ninja styles on the fly and being able to freely respec, and you have a stellar example of just how good the Soulslike genre can be. This is an early game of the year contender, without a doubt. GameWatcher - Rahul Majumdar - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 is a fast, relentless and tough thrill ride that maintains a great sense of progression while rewarding exploration and player freedom. The sheer amount of options is overwhelming, while opening the door to the souls-like genre for newcomers with its Ninja Gaiden-inspired action. Gameblog - French - 8 / 10 Quote not yet available Gameliner - Joey Visser - Dutch - 4.5 / 5 Nioh 3 is a strong addition to the franchise, offering an engaging story, deep combat, and a rewarding open-field design that invites constant exploration, and despite occasionally being too easy and not fully showcasing the PlayStation 5’s graphical potential, it delivers a smooth, immersive action-RPG experience. Gamer Escape - Eliot Lefebvre - 8 / 10 The game's sheer complexity and overwhelming mass of systems and stuff makes it a bit hard to recommend, and there were definitely times when I was pulling out my hair in frustration in the game or finding myself unclear on how I was supposed to proceed. I feel like a smaller and more balanced game would have likely been an overall better experience. But at the end of the day, Nioh 3 aims big. While I can't say if it's going to satisfy series fans perfectly, this one is definitely earning a thumbs up from me. Gamer Guides - Echo Apsey - 93 / 100 Nioh 3 feels like the culmination of Team Ninja’s action games since Nioh, offering a delightful new level structure and the most satisfying and flexible gameplay in the series to date. Gamer Social Club - Fraser Billington - 9 / 10 Team Ninja has done a fantastic job of bringing a demon-ravaged world to life. It’s grim, but not too grim. The Yokai are such an interesting enemy, and I find myself pausing and trying to find which enemy I’m fighting. The Onry? They’re terrifying, and I’m more than ok sneaking around them. Gamersky - 奕剑者柴王 - Chinese - 9 / 10 Team Ninja clearly understands what fans of the Nioh series are looking for. As a result, Nioh 3 feels like a Warriors Orochi-style entry made specifically for the Nioh franchise. GamesRadar+ - Luke Kemp - 4.5 / 5 Nioh 3 is tough – brutally tough – but it has a unique sense of accessibility. GamingBolt - Varun Karunakar - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 doesn't settle for iterative improvements. Instead, it pulls together Team Ninja's best mechanics from past entries, folds in welcome touches from its other games, and backs it all up with genuinely strong new additions that feel mechanically sound and consistently engaging. HCL.hr - Hrvoje Smoljic - Unknown - 80 / 100 More than a sequel, this is a snapshot of Team Ninja learning in real time: a bolder structure and smarter flexibility wrapped around the same razor-tuned combat. The story and presentation still lag behind, but when the rhythm clicks, very few studios hit this kind of action high. Hinsusta - Pascal Kaap - German - 10 / 10 Nioh 3 is not just a sequel, but the consistent further development of an already outstanding series. It is the best action RPG of the year and a true masterpiece of its genre! Hobby Consolas - Spanish - 92 / 100 Quote not yet available IGN Italy - Alessandra Borgonovo - Italian - 8 / 10 Nioh 3 is a smart evolution of a winning formula. Team Ninja successfully transitions to an Open Field structure without losing the tightness of its level design, while the new Samurai/Ninja duality adds a fresh tactical layer to an already stellar combat system. The game feels fairer and more accessible than its predecessors, removing artificial frustration in favor of readable challenges. While the narrative plays it safe and side content remains repetitive, the core loop is stronger than ever. A must-play for fans of the genre. IGN Spain - Mario Seijas - Spanish - 8 / 10 Nioh 3 has two pillars: Its duality of ninja and samurai combat and an open world filled with things to do. Fans of the franchise will especially enjoy the fast-paced action and speed, but will also be the victims of its main flaw INVEN - Kyuman Kim - Korean - 9 / 10 An open field and two distinct battle styles mark Nioh 3’s key changes, blending well with the series’ trademark difficulty. While enemy variety remains limited, it is well suited to test your skills and kick off the year with intensity. Insider Gaming - Andrew Highton - 10 / 10 I hope this is the moment where Team Ninja is finally acknowledged as not only a driving force in the Soulslike genre, but for its name to be ranked amongst the best. Nioh 3 is an unbelievable game from start to finish and excels in all aspects of game development. Just Play it - Lamine BENYAHIA - Arabic - 9.5 / 10 Nioh 3 is an unforgettable experience that redefines the series within an enchanting open-world framework. Team Ninja didn’t just continue the legacy. they boldly pushed beyond it, delivering a rich and secret-filled world that carries the soul of the original series while giving it bold new wings. Here, longtime fans are honored with the depth and substance they expect, while newcomers are warmly welcomed through the gates. If you love soulslikes, Nioh 3 is undoubtedly a journey worth taking. KonsoliFIN - Joonatan Itkonen - Finnish - 5 / 5 Nioh 3 still struggles with cheap boss fights and clumsy controls, but the thrilling action and spectacular world design more than make up for its faults. This is the best entry in the franchise and it isn't even close. Loot Level Chill - Mick Fraser - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 moves beautifully with smooth, glowing, brutal combat and a huge array of special abilities to equip and call upon. Lords Of Gaming - Daniel Amoroso - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 somehow further sharpens the series' already razor-sharp combat, elevates the series' world design to a whole other level thanks to its large explorable maps, and packs enough meaningful content into the experience to fill at least two games. Team Ninja is a developer at the top of its game, and you can see how the lessons the studio has learned over the past few years have been put into practice in making Nioh 3 the absolute best it can be. It takes all the best bits of the studio's previous games and blends them almost seamlessly for a near-perfect experience. It once again sets the standard for any Soulslike not developed by From Software. MMORPG.com - George Yang - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 is a triumphant adventure that stands up to the mightiest contemporaries in the Soulslike genre. While the story has you traveling back in time, it feels modern and slick because of the distinguished setting and polished mechanics. The loot situation is still annoying, but this is minor in the grand scope of things. The shift to an open-world is effortlessly handled, feeling like a proper evolution of the series rather than something simply tacked on. It’s impressive how consistently strong the series is, and Nioh 3 does not disappoint. Manual dos Games - Nathan Manoel - Portuguese - 9.3 / 10 Despite being a sequel to an already popular franchise, Nioh 3 emerges as a pleasant surprise by delivering extremely refined combat mechanics and very well-developed open maps that invite exploration, making it a must-play experience for action game fans. MeuPlayStation - Raphael Batista Cabral Xavier - Portuguese - 88 / 100 Nioh 3 proves that sequels can still bring fresh ideas to an established franchise. By introducing more open regions and meaningful side activities, the new soulslike retains the strengths of its predecessors while addressing their shortcomings. The result is a well-crafted narrative, unforgettable boss battles, and a wealth of content, all supported by a progression system that feels inviting to both newcomers and longtime fans. Niche Gamer - Jonathan White - 7.5 / 10 Quote not yet available PPE.pl - Wojciech Gruszczyk - Polish - 8.5 / 10 NiOh 3 is a classic example of a sequel: highly polished, incredibly satisfying in combat, but not necessarily revolutionary. The dual-style system, fluid attack combinations, and well-designed bosses make every victory genuinely enjoyable. The graphics are solid, and the cutscenes can make a great impression... although it's hard to say that the game stands out from the rest of the genre. It's primarily a treat for fans of the series who know what they want. PSX Brasil - Marco Aurélio Couto - Portuguese - 85 / 100 Nioh 3 evolves the series' formula with semi-open world maps and an even deeper and more dynamic combat system, maintaining challenging and highly satisfying encounters. Despite stumbles in the narrative, enemy repetition, and visual aspects, the gameplay remains the highlight of the experience, and should easily please fans of action RPGs. Pizza Fria - Filipe Villela Barroso - Portuguese - 8.5 / 10 Team Ninja managed to take everything that worked in the previous games and expand upon it intelligently, delivering a much more ambitious experience here. PlayStation Universe - Ben Fellows - 9.5 / 10 Nioh 3 represents the series at its most refined and confident. Combat is precise, expressive, and endlessly rewarding, while open-field design gives the world room to breathe without sacrificing focus. Crucibles deliver punishing, carefully balanced challenges that reward preparation and mastery in equal measure. Prima Games - Ali Hashmi - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 is yet another incredible action title from Team Ninja that further refines the series’ formula with thoughtful additions to its combat, most notably the Style Shift system and the Ninja and Samurai forms that come with it. The open field structure is a largely positive change thanks to the added freedom and emphasis on exploration, but it does not feel entirely necessary, coming across more as a remix than a true genre shift. It is packed with content that can easily last hundreds of hours, and the depth of its combat and build systems never stops impressing. Push Square - Liam Croft - 8 / 10 Nioh 3 takes all the best bits from Team Ninja's previous efforts to form its greatest action experience in a very long time. Its new open zone maps provide more ways than ever to engage with its sublime, intense combat system - even if the activities themselves are entirely unoriginal. This is a familiar feeling title for a fanbase that knows what it wants, for few franchises do hardcore action better. Nioh 3 is its latest triumph. RPG Fan - 81 / 100 Nioh 3 hits hard where it counts and stumbles in the spaces between. RPG Site - 8 / 10 The third entry in the Nioh series delivers exciting battles with vastly customizable actions, at the expense of character storytelling and worldbuilding. RPGamer - Jordan McClain - 3.5 / 5 It does maintain ferocious, ruthless, fast-paced action combat, punctuated by blood-pumping compositions, and it has a generally competent story and world built around it. Just don’t expect it to excel in every dimension. ReGame It - Mustafa Zayni - Arabic - 8.3 / 10 Nioh 3 keeps what the series promises us and adds a lot of new things that make the game enjoyable and more fun to play. República DG - Ruancarlo Silva - Portuguese - 9.6 / 10 NiOh 3 is Team Ninja’s magnum opus, the result of years of learning and refinement. The new additions, though driven by market demands, have been brilliantly implemented, fitting seamlessly into the formula established by the studio. With an almost infinite replay factor, NiOh 3 embraces both longtime fans and newcomers, solidifying itself as a must-play masterpiece within the souls subgenre. Saudi Gamer - Arabic - 9 / 10 Nioh 3 is Team Ninja's finest, it improved on what made Nioh 1 and 2 special without losing its identity along the way, a soulslike with a fastpaced combat and tons of exploration. SmashPad - Tanay Sharma - 4 / 5 Nioh 3 is an excellent entry in the series, simply because of how open it is to experimentation. The dual fighting styles between a Samurai and a Ninja highlight this aspect of its gameplay philosophy, and that’s just the beginning of what you can expect from Team Ninja’s commitment to an intricate combat and exploration system. If you’ve never played a Nioh game before, that’s okay! I believe this one can attract a lot of new fans to the series. Spaziogames - Italian - 8 / 10 Nioh 3 is a game that breathes ambition, a title that dares and isn't afraid to throw the player into chaos. It's frenetic, brilliant in many moments, and incredibly rewarding when you master its complexities. The combat system is deep and layered, and the introduction of Samurai and Ninja styles adds a level of tactical choice never seen before. The GameSlayer - Christian Bognar - 9.5 / 10 Nioh 3 does almost everything right for both an action RPG and Soulslike. For an ARPG, it offers some of the most satisfying combat in the entire genre, and as a Soulslike, it has some of the best bosses of any game on the market. Nioh 3 is a masterclass in game design and will go down as one of Team Ninja’s best games. The Games Machine - Danilo Dellafrana - Italian - 9.3 / 10 Quote not yet available The Nerd Stash - Julio La Pine - 9.5 / 10 Nioh 3 is the pinnacle of everything Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have done. It embraces player freedom at every turn and offers so many choices that every character and playthrough will feel different. The Outerhaven Productions - Keith Mitchell - 4.5 / 5 Nioh 3 doesn't reinvent the series, and it does not need to. Instead, Team Ninja refines nearly every system the franchise has built over the years and layers meaningful additions on top. The dual combat styles, interconnected world, improved co-op structure, and player-friendly respec system all feel like natural evolutions rather than gimmicks. But let's be honest, the reason you're here is the combat, and it does not disappoint. TheGamer - George Foster - 4.5 / 5 Nioh 3 may stumble slightly with its narrative and a bit of bloating from the new open zone design, but it’s still far and away the best game in the series to date. Consistently excellent combat, well-designed bosses, and a new form that adds even more depth and value to already meticulously put-together mechanics make Nioh 3 more than a worthy challenger to Elden Ring. It’s so good, in fact, that even after 60 hours, I've already jumped straight into New Game Plus to keep getting my fix. TheSixthAxis - Jason Coles - 9 / 10 I absolutely adore Nioh 3. It's one of the best Soulslikes I've played in ages, quite possibly since Elden Ring itself, and while it's not as large (thankfully), the way it breaks everything down and gives you endless flexibility means that it's just fun to play. There are layers upon layers of systems to master and learn about, but the fact that this game is a blast to play never goes away. Do not miss out on this. Tom's Guide - 4 / 5 Nioh 3 takes clear cues from Elden Ring, offering multiple sizeable open-world regions to explore and challenging enemy encounters aplenty. Its bosses aren't particularly memorable, but the deep combat gives you a myriad of ways to approach each confrontation. It's an impressively large action-RPG that I can't stop playing. Uagna - Matteo Bovolenta - Italian - 8.5 / 10 Nioh 3 is the most ambitious and comprehensive instalment in the series. Team Ninja has managed to evolve the formula without betraying its essence, introducing significant new features such as open fields and dual combat styles. It is a demanding, at times ruthless game that makes no concessions and requires dedication. But for those who love hardcore action RPGs, Nioh 3 represents one of the most profound, rewarding and rich experiences currently available. VG247 - 4 / 5 I find it difficult to ask more from Nioh 3. It’s a game that proudly announces its goals at the outset, and trusts the player to discover how well it’s going to nail every one them over the course of its 45+ hour runtime. It is the confident result of shaking up Nioh’s near decade-old formula that’s only outshone by Team Ninja’s steady hand in crafting it. VGC - Dave Aubrey - 4 / 5 Nioh 3 feels like the summation of Team Ninja's efforts from the last decade. Its combat is varied and tight, much like its level design, and it's a fantastic adventure. Storytelling could use some work, but the action is flawless. Video Chums - A.J. Maciejewski - 9.1 / 10 Nioh 3 is a superbly enjoyable culmination of action RPG fun and its open environments are bursting with so much rewarding content that it's hard to put it down whenever you start playing. It may be a big change of pace but I'm incredibly happy with everything it offers. 👹 WayTooManyGames - Jordan Hawes - 8.5 / 10 Nioh 3 is Team Ninja’s best game to date and definitely their best combat system so far. The addition of the Style Shift adds so much more depth to the moment-to-moment combat decisions and player agency. As well as the other additions to the combat like the dedicated jump button and tweaks to the Onmyo Box. While I do enjoy the change to the wide-linear style, over the separate mission select, there is some balancing that needs to be had there. Despite some issues with some lack luster visuals, Nioh 3 is an absolute must play and a blast. Wccftech - Francesco De Meo - 9.8 / 10 Nioh 3 is the culmination of Team NINJA’s evolution. By masterfully blending the engaging exploration of an open-field structure with a deep, dual-style combat system that bridges the gap between 'Masocore' and character-action, it has evolved into a genre of its own. While technical issues hold the game back, it is the definitive samurai fantasy and a modern masterpiece of action design. ZTGD - Augusto A. - 8 / 10 Despite the lack of innovation, Nioh’s blend of character action and soulslike still manages to entertain, with its combat being undeniably polished to near perfection. The dual styles allow for a lot of experimentation when it comes to combat, and the game does a genuinely great job balancing its more traditional level design to fit an open world. Team Ninja’s treks through history remain exciting regardless of the shape they take, but here’s hoping the DLCs will bring in fresher ideas. submitted by /u/Turbostrider27 to r/Games [link] [comments]

AITAH for refusing to help my parents care for my son who they adopted.
I am NOT the Original Poster. That is Potential-While9923. She posted in r/AITAH Thanks to u/BakingGiraffeBakes and r/anicole325 for the rec! Do NOT comment on Original Posts. Latest update is 7 days old. READ TRIGGER WARNINGS. Trigger Warnings: rape ending in a pregnancy; forced birth; coercive control; trauma; emotional abuse; descriptions of injury Mood Spoiler: horrific; ok ending but overall genuinely horrific Original Post: December 29, 2025 I am an oops baby. My folks had me when they were in their early forties. I got pregnant when I was in university. I probably can't write here why I didn't want it. I wanted to not be pregnant but my parents said they would cut off all aid to me if I did that. So I carried it to term. Then I wanted to put the child up for adoption or drop him at a fire station or something. I was not on a good place. My parents insisted on adopting him so he is legally my brother. I do not hate him but he is a reminder of something terrible that happened to me. I now go back home as little as possible. Maybe two days a year. I have graduated and I have a life far away from my parents. My "brother" is twelve now. And he is not well behaved. My parents are now in their seventies and ar having a shitty retirement. They have to dedicate all their time to him. They can't take the vacations they planned. They won't downsize to a condo so they still have yardwork and stuff that he will not help with. None of my actual siblings will watch him to give them a break. They reached out to me for help. I said no. I said that he is their son and their responsibility. They think I'm being cruel for forcing them to do everything after they helped me so much. It took everything I had in me not to curse them out. Some of my relatives have reached out to me to see why I refuse to help fix the mess I made. Them I curse out and block. None of them helped me when I was pregnant against my will. The biological father is on the registry and cannot be near kids. Before you ask. Some of OOP's Comment: Dachshundmom5: Why not block your parents like you do others? They are the people who forced you to keep the pregnancy and refused to let you give the baby a shot at a good life. They are not good people. OOP: Still my parents. I have many, MANY, issues with them but they are my parents. To another commenter: I'm already low contact DeeSusie200: (downvoted- included for OOP's comment) At one point you could have said NO to your parents. You could have said NO to the adoption but you wanted money from them. Now an innocent child is suffering. OOP: Needed. Not wanted. If I was ever going to have a life of my own I needed their money. If I could have figured out any way to complete my education without their money I would have done that instead. To another downvoted commenter: They didn't chain me to a bed or anything. But you do not understand the coercion I experienced. To one more commenter: Decided is a soft term but essentially yes. Please note that at the time of this "decision" I was in the hospital recovering from a violent rpe and my parents were my entire support system. Not sure what job I could get with broken ribs and a broken jaw and one eye in a bandage while the doctors try to figure out whether it's worth saving. To a kind, longer comment by DramaticReach9854: OOP: Thank you. I am in therapy and have been for a long time. First at my college then through a victim's fund and now on my own. I am not okay yet. I'll probably never be okay with what happened. But I'm getting better. SummerWedding23: (downvoted, again included for OOP's response): Out of curiosity, if you didn’t want the baby…why did you bother to tell them you were pregnant? Why not end it without ever telling them? ESH in my opinion. They never should have tied financial support to this pregnancy, but you should not have taken financial support in exchange for this pregnancy. It’s clear there was some version of SA, and I hope you’ve received adequate counseling, especially now that you are an adult and responsible for your own mental health. You all could have made different choices 12.5 years ago, you didn’t and the child is the only innocent party suffering for the selfish decision of adults. OOP: Because they were caring for me after I was attacked? They were deeply involved in my mental and medical care at the time. To another commenter: After being attacked and impregnated against my will I had some mental health issues. My parents made a lot of my decisions while I was hospitalized. But you have a valid opinion I guess. Usual-Archer-916: I was conceived in rape. They should have let you adopt the baby out, period. I am so sorry they didn't do that and I am so sorry you had this experience. Under the circumstances NTA. The fact that your siblings won't help says a lot. I feel bad for you and for the boy but this is not your fault. OOP: My oldest brother is already a grandfather. He doesn't want a twelve year old. As an example. OkRecommendation2774: Do your relatives know the child was conceived, carried and adopted by your parents all without your consent? Because them framing it as "your mess" makes me think your parents have told them an entirely different story that paints you in a very different light. [...] OOP: My parents covered up what happened to me with most of the family. Bio father can usually be around their bio children (downvoted): He cannot actually. There is a permanent restraining order that my parents have had no problem renewing. Does the child know his true parentage: Yes he knows. And yes I'm in therapy. Editor's note: including this comment from OOP because of the sheer amount of comments that were either blaming OOP or telling her she was being rude to people in the comments and I'm trying to head off anyone here saying shit: OOP: Okay the person said I should have kept my legs shut. I tried. I yelled, I fought back, I scratched and bit. His DNA under my nails and in my teeth helped convict him. I tried to keep my legs shut. But I'm rude because the idiot can't read? Editor's note: The one good note out of all of the horrific comments is that OOP was put in touch with a specialized trauma therapist/counselor. Update Post: January 2, 2026 (4 days later) Thank you guys for finally giving me the motivation to tell my story to my family and to cut ties with my parents. I did s many of you suggested and I wrote everything out. Bo explained that I had been violently assaulted and raped. That my parents, who were my only support told me that they would be kicking me out, stopping paying for my education, and removing me from their health insurance if I took Plan B. I further explained that when I found out I was pregnant from the rape they once again coerced me the same way into carrying the fetus to term. And how they insisted on adopting him after I stated I never wanted to see him again. I wanted him out up for a closed adoption but they would not relent. I then added pictures of me from the hospital. Blood, bruises, missing teeth, shattered face, everything. I included a recent picture of myself with my orbital prosthesis removed so everyone could see the permanent damage. I posted everything onto the family group chat. I included that I would now consider the matter closed and have decided to completely cut myself off from all of them. It was my New Year's gift to myself and my mental health. I have received messages and emails from family members using unknown numbers and emails to tell me that they didn't know about all of this and that they are sorry. I blocked the new sources. I'm just done. I honestly have not had the strength to do this until you guys gave it to me. Thank you. Some of OOP's Comments: thetiredlamb: I cant believe they wouldnt even let you take a plan b. Im so sorry nobody was there for you at such a devasting time in your life, especially your parents. Im proud of you for being so strong, spiritual hug 🫂 OOP: They are cultist Christians. TararaBoomDA: (downvoted) So 13 years ago you were so violently raped and beaten that you lost an eye, yet none of your relatives knew about it. How sad. OOP: My parents told everyone I was in a car accident. Retired_ho: I’m curious did the ones offering apologizing do something I missed? OOP: I'm just done. I don't need or want their apologies. TvManiac5: (downvoted) So can I ask something? Couldn't you get a plan B without telling them or putting it on the insurance? Or alternatively couldn't you get an abortion without them knowing and tell them you had a miscarriage? OOP: I was hospitalized and under their care for a while after the attack. Do you know the damage that is required to a human skull that plastic surgery isn't enough to make your face something that doesn't make you scream when you look in a mirror? And then require an actual prosthesis that replaces part of your face not just your eyeball. I wasn't making a lot of decisions for myself.
