Bf stormed out of the restaurant
I wanted to take him out to a nice meal after he helped me this week. I chose a place he had never been to but it has one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. Very small place, small menu, farm to table kind place. He didn't look thrilled when he sat down. I offered to go somewhere else he said no. We ordered and he threw a fit. Said I chose that place because I wanted to go there not him and there were only 2 things on the menu he would even eat (the whole menu has 15 items on it) he insisted that it was rude of me to chose a place like that to "thank him" he stormed out of the place. I had to go tell the waitress to cancel our order. We rode 45 minutes back home in utter silence. Why did we drive so far for dinner? Because I had to pick up my dogs ashes at the vet nearby. I unexpectedly has to put her down 11 days ago. Lemon yogurt for dinner. Dog in photo is the son of the one I said goodbye to. submitted by /u/Oliver10Queen to r/GirlDinnerDiaries [link] [comments]

This is annoying and pissing me off at this point
I wanted to discuss this with ya'll because i genuinely had enough with this. Guys look, i love dungeons its a sick game BUT, adding a top 2 community wanted feature right after the end update to a spinoff while the base game is in the corner getting a soccer ball and a funny water, on top of all that them saying "yea use it in your maps or builds or something go figure" is really, i think scummy and annoying. They are literally throwing us random slop that serves no purpose other than existing, jiggling keys to keep us playing minecraft while they are focusing on their beloved spinoffs with absolutely packed content like bosses, weapons, blocks, mobs and mechanics that their base game heavily lacks. They know community asked for the portal to open and what do they do? Reveal it in a spinoff that we need to buy. And the fact that the spinoff of all things is getting the priority but not the base game is crazy. It should be the opposite base game should receive the portal THEN the spinoff. I knew long ago that dungeons 2 was coming but still seeing that portal flicker for a spinoff after talking and theorizing about it since the day it got added is soul crushing. And i wont have the excuse of "oh they are re-coding the backend of the game plus the rendering engine" Yes they are and yes its hard i get it. But its a multi billion dollar company, capable of maintaining a team that polishes the backend while also having a team to give us updates with at least reasonable amounts of content but they are willingly choosing not to. This recent drop lacks content and overall direction in many ways that the vulkan excuse doesn't work on it anymore. They can give us drops with way less content i am okay with that AS LONG AS the content that is in the drop is worthwhile. Like small things community was asking for years that can fit in a drop easily that be sleeping bags, fletching table, carrying your dog etc... I know its not true but you know how this live made me feel? It genuinely seemed like "we only see minecraft as a money bag to promote our other games, adding most wanted features there so they can be bought while doing the bare minimum for the base game so players wont cry" Guys don't get me wrong here i love minecraft as much as the next guy and i only want this game to succeed. Minecraft has ENDLESS potential compared to most other games out there but seeing how Mojang absolutely waste that potential for years is just, sad. Almost everything they added in recent years were half baked... I'll lay out few examples. Ancient cities. While its cool on concept i think the execution was extremely poor. Biggest structure in game + strongest mob in the game literally called the warden btw and what does he protect? 4 snowballs, 2 books, 7 coal pieces, echo shards which is only used to craft a useless compass if you are on hardcore or keep inv on, swift sneak enchant mostly only useful in ancient cities but since you find it in an ancient city after you leave and get everything you want you don't really need to go find another one thus rendering the enchant pretty much useless and a smithing template. The game design isn't there. Where is high risk = high reward? Its game design 101 this is high risk = idc at this point. Another example being spring to life. When they added ambiance sounds to deserted biomes i was SURE that we'll get some ambiance sounds in other biomes because cmn it would be weird having ambiance only in specific places and nowhere else right? Nope, only deserted biomes have it and its been like that ever since. The creaking could be expanded upon so much and its genuinely a good concept but their goal of having a scare factor gets absolutely destroyed once the creaking slaps you without armor and deals half a heart. Then boom its not scary anymore since a mob, according to mojang you should be afraid of just petted you on the head. Mace and spear for example, yes they are amazing additions and i absolutely love them! But for singleplayer, i think they are pretty useless since in singleplayer other than wither and ender dragon, there isn't any hard to beat mob or boss to use these extremely overpowered weapons against. Ender dragon is literally unfinished (in Jeb's words) and java wither has been untouched since god knows how long its outdated compared to java wither. And i know for a fact that these half baked stuff will remain half baked for years because they barely go back and fully cook their meals. As a community member and a loyal player to this game, after this recent live i felt like toyed with and ignored. Another issue i forgot here i am editing in now is that mojang never really clarify anything or follow what they said about some stuff. They are almost never open with us. Are they developing big update behind the scenes? This was asked them multiple times but they always brushed it off without clarifying a concrete answer. Never a yes, never a no. Are we getting the use for the fletching table for example. Last time they mention it was 1.14 they said that they will be adding a use for it in 1.15 or 1.16 and that was the last time we heard about it. This is also one of their false promises. Mob votes! What are the mobs gonna do? What is their ability? What makes them special no they always left it ambiguous and that let to them getting boycotted. Part of the reason everyone hates phantoms. They were not clear about phantoms ability and people wanted a flying mob so it won. Look how it's going right now with the phantom... The game has so many outdated and boring mechanics too that needs overhauling and modernizing such as enchanting. No one enjoys the XP grind process and enchanting process its TEDIOUS. It can be hard i love me some challenge but there is a fine line between hard and tedious. Fishing for example is so outdated that people doesn't even use those auto fish farms anymore. It's pretty much a feature for funnies serves no purpose since villagers are much more viable than sitting and fishing for 3 hours straight to maybe get an enchanted book you want. They need to often go back to these outdated stuff too and improve upon it instead of adding ANOTHER feature that serves no purpose and will be rendered useless few weeks after it's release (sniffer) Yes it ain't that deep but i just wanted to share and hear what yall think. Hope you understand my points maybe i could've worded my points better but it is what it is. I lost all interest in upcoming drops or updates and lost all hope for a major update 4th dimension etc after this recent live. Idk if i wanna watch the other lives so as a map developer i'll just take my technical changes and do my own thing i couldn't care less about drops anymore. Dont sacrifice me to Jeb. TLDR: Seeing the endless potential minecraft holds used as a fuel for new games and leaving minecraft with bread crumbs is weird and annoying to me. The recent drops/updates also were really half baked on some aspects and i think this is a major issue at how Mojang makes updates. submitted by /u/GloxoST to r/Minecraft [link] [comments]

Hi all, I’m a solo dev making a game called Farm to Table, a farming & restaurant sim with base building elements. I've wanted to play a game that mixes farming and restaurants for years so I’m making one now. Farm to Table is all about starting from scratch on a hill in a colorful island. Customize your place inside and outside to turn into a 5-star restaurant! I've been working on this game for almost 18 months and I recently released the Demo. Having been released just only a few days ago, the demo has been sitting on 98% positive reviews. So far, the record is 40+ hours of playtime in the demo and there had been quite a few players who spent 10–15 hours in it and still took the time to leave a review. You shouldn't see the interview so much as an exhaustive exam but more as a negotiation, where the product the company wants to buy is your skills. Focus on that, but since it's a negotiation, you need to have a few tricks up your sleeve. In my experience, I'll tell you what differentiates a good negotiator at the interview table and what we know they're lying about, but we let them. 1. Regarding your salary at your previous company: This one is probably obvious. HR professionals are usually paid to find the most qualified candidates at the lowest cost to the company. That's why, during negotiations, if they pressure you to reveal your salary (which we will pressure you to do), don't give the real amount if you want a bigger raise. 2. Lie about why you're looking for a new job. Don't tell us you didn't like your previous work environment. That makes you seem like a difficult person to recruiters and makes us think you might cause problems in this job. Instead, say you're looking for new professional challenges. 3 - Lie about how your old boss made you feel. Look, I've worked with some real jerks in the office, and everyone knew it. But even though we all know tyrants exist in companies, don't tell anyone at another company that your old boss was one, because we're not from there, and again, we'll see you as a difficult person incapable of leadership. 4 - Lie about where you see yourself in the next 5-10 years. Although I also see myself running a farm with cows, I'm not going to tell people at the company. The company wants you there for a long time and they're thinking about the future with you. It's like going on a date and saying you're afraid of commitment. 5 - Sell yourself! I've interviewed top professionals who are far superior to an entire department, but they don't see themselves as such, and during the interview, they sabotage themselves. Don't use expressions like "Well, I didn't do it alone, I had help." Instead, say, "We faced problems along the way, but we managed to solve them." That positions you as a leader and humble. 6. Make sure your strengths shine through in your CV. This is super important. I've seen people on social media doing amazing things, but then when you ask for their CV, it doesn't reflect what you see online at all. Your CV is your introduction; treat it like a marketing company where you have to sell yourself in five seconds. You have no excuse with the number of free tools available for this. These are just a few tips, but there are many more that I know. I just think these are the ones that might help many of you. And above all, believe in yourselves much more; there is always someone out there looking for a person with exactly your skills, but you have to know how to sell yourselves so that they find you. EDIT: Many of you have been messaging me privately about free tools, so I'm sharing them here since I can't reply to everyone. To create a cover letter, use this GPT: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-tb2UpZTEH-cover-letter To see what's missing from your CV, use this free tool: https://www.haired.app/cv-optimizer To find recently funded companies (they're usually hiring): https://www.crunchbase.com/ Simply search "recently funded companies" in X and you'll get a list. To practice your interview: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-fBKsnQnUW-practice-voice-interview-prep I hope these tools help you! Some of you have already written to me saying you received an interview call thanks to these tips, and it made my day! submitted by /u/Zealousideal-Foot-54 to r/jobsearchhacks [link] [comments]

Is anyone else realizing how complicated “farm-to-table” really is?
I always thought restaurants sourcing locally was just a matter of “try harder,” but after listening to a podcast this week, I’m rethinking everything. The hosts were talking about why most restaurants can’t afford to offer real farm-to-table - like, apparently to serve a salad made entirely from local ingredients, they’d have to charge $20–$25 just to stay afloat. And that’s assuming you can source everything locally depending on your geography. This made me realize how much of the “farm-to-table” label is unregulated marketing vs. reality. Anyone here run a farm-to-table restaurant? How feasible do you think true local sourcing actually is? submitted by /u/SouthernPositive805 to r/restaurant [link] [comments]

[Kollman] “I don’t think people realize how hard the Vikings tried to trade up for Anthony Richardson last year. Like, the hall that they put on the table was massive. They were going to give away the entire farm, all of it. They were going to give everything.”

Farm to Table game?
I’m really into games that have you growing/sourcing your own ingredients to then cook them into dishes. Animal Crossing and FFXIV both have elements of this but I want it a little more involved I suppose! submitted by /u/XigZagXoom to r/CozyGamers [link] [comments]

In progress. Wife wanted to buy a farm house table for $2500. Milled up some 2x4s, cut some mortises, dowel pinned em and threw in some tusks for fun. $40 invested so far.

I'm the food critic that found area restaurants mislead on sourcing and "farm-to-table" claims AMA!
My short bio: I'm Laura Reiley, the food critic for the Tampa Bay Times newspaper. I spent two months working on an investigative series on "farm to table" claims at area restaurants and found that some are misleading, and some are simply false. After interviewing chefs, restaurateurs, farmers, state officials and food industry experts and having foods genetically tested, it became clear that what was advertised as “local” and “farm-to-fork” wasn’t -- from mislabeled food and farms to lies of the food itself (one menu said grouper when the fish we had genetically tested was actually tilapia). You can read the full report at http://www.tampabay.com/farmtofable.
