I cannot believe the difference from 24 days ago thanks to asking for advice!
I came asking for help with all the fine lines on my face and you guys delivered! I didn’t realize just how dehydrated my face was and that I was due for some changes in routine. I wasn’t expecting my skin to change so much already (I’m 33) but clearly I needed some changes! I’m so thankful for this group 🤍 New routine: So I cleanse at night only and then I do all the other steps both morning and night. At night I’ve been slugging with aquaphor but I’ve gone down to only 2-3 days a week for that now. La roche posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser for Dry Skin Milky toner from Paula’s choice The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum with Ceramides Then at night for moisturizer I’m using CALM Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer Paula’s choice Morning moisturizer is Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Moisturizer I use DRMTGLY tinted moisturizer with spf but it’s been pilling lately with the new changes so I think I’m going to be on the hunt for another one. Id like to work retinol back in eventually but I’m scared because I think that was one of the products that messed up my barrier in the first place 🤷🏻♀️ submitted by /u/weddingaccount060417 to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

90 days of retinol & hyaluronic acid — no significant change/worse?
Hyaluronic acid in the AM, retinol in the PM. I also use salicylic acid before retinol application at night. I’m not seeing any significant changes. If anything, worse? I did have a breakout for the before pics on my forehead because I was eating basically only popcorn & butter that week. But not seeing any real change in my skin. It actually looks kind worse?? Hyaluronic acid supplementation before and after
I've had premature aging due to dry skin and living in a very cold very dry environment. I've always had a great skincare routine but since moving somewhere cold and dry, my skin took a huge hit. In the before pics I was only 20. Started on HA 2 years ago and it's made a world of difference, so I thought I should post here in hopes it will help others with this issue! FWIW my eyes feel less dry/tired now, and I feel my lips look a bit plumper. But obviously the main results have been my forehead lines. The product I use is pureclinica's triple strength hyaluronic acid :) it's 300 mg submitted by /u/sweetsclover to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

Is hyaluronic acid actually hydrating?
I've been using the top end HA barbar strum and not that happy with it. I've noticed using it daily that my face dries out a lot quicker, and also noticed it tends to make my face red. I have never had a product with peptides, niacnimide etc make my skin more red and dehydrated.. so maybe it's just not for my skin type? Im very confused submitted by /u/RedditFan3510 to r/SkincareAddictionLux [link] [comments]

[Product Request] holy crap. i get why people hate hyaluronic acid.
so i’ve been battling severely dehydrated skin and i’ve used many many products to try and fix it, and over the past few months i’ve specifically been focusing on ones with hyaluronic acid because in the past a moisturizer that contained it had helped my skin, but they discontinued it. i started using one that i found at target, and damn it felt nice at first but later dehydrated the crap out of my skin. i couldn’t believe it. i thought i found a holy grail. was so beyond excited to have finally found the “cure” to my dehydration. safe to say i will be steering clear of hyaluronic acid. i want to try Avene Cicalfate next. hopefully that will help? any other suggestions? submitted by /u/Pretty_Stay_4783 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[personal] Mini rant: I hate how everything has niacinamide and hyaluronic acid
I fucking hate how everything has niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Even the simplest product that don’t need that shit be having it and it’s so annoying!!! I blame TikTok for brainwashing everyone into thinking these are some magical products like it’s a one size fits all. I can’t even buy my skincare products that I used to love anymore because they decided to go with the trend and add niacinamide for no fucking reason. Yes I’m talking about cetaphil!!! I’m just so pissed because now I’m having to find products for my extremely sensitive skin AGAIN. I’m breaking out to everything bc they’re hiding the niacinamide or the stupid hyaluronic acid variants like sodium hyaluronate somewhere in the goddamn ingredient list I can’t even get any good drugstore products anymore because bitches want to be trend followers. I spent an entire HOUR trying to look at ingredients at the drug store finding what’s good. I’m just so pissed rn I have painful bumps and acne on my face rn bc of this and it’s just really pissing me off bad and I really just needed to rant PS sorry for all the cussing submitted by /u/Calm_Cardiologist689 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

PSA: be careful with hyaluronic acid !!! [PSA]
(None of this is medical advice, I am not a doctor, this is just my personal experience and I wish I saw this when I was on this subreddit. Please talk to ur doctor before doing anything with your skin :)) Hey guys! I used to be one of those people with mild acne and no skincare routine, so I decided to start a skincare routine to fix it. That was quite literally the worst mistake ever. I tried tretinoin for 6 months, and it turned my mild acne into severe. My skin also got extremely dry, so I was compensating with hylaluronic acid (HA). Nothing was working, so I cut out the tretinoin. After 3 months off the tret, my skin was getting dryer and dryer. So, I cut out all active ingredients except for HA, yet my skin was just getting worse. Finally, I found a tik tok that said that for some people, using HA can dry out the skin and make acne worse. Therefore, I stopped using HA, and immediately my skin got 70% better. Rarely any more new pimples, and my skin has stopped being dry. This was a month ago and my skin has stayed better. Is my skin completely clear ? Nope. Am I still going on accutane to cure it once and for all? Yes. But I think I could’ve avoided all of this if I didn’t ruin my skin barrier so long with tret and HA. So if you have incorporated those, and your skin is freaking out for more than 4-6 weeks, consider speaking with ur dermatologist and stopping before it’s too late and you have to go on accutane like me lol. submitted by /u/fluffycornz to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[DIY] I tried it so you don't have to: dumping hyaluronic acid powder in my bath
I give it a solid 5/10. Will probably buy again unless someone pops in to tell me I'm definitely getting cancer now. I was reading that you only need a small amount of the powder to soak up a huge amount of water and turn it into HA moisturizer, so I thought.... why not an HA bath? I love baths but they aren't great for the skin. I've poured in oils before but they make the tub greasy. Results: the powder isn't cheap, but luxe bath bombs are like $13 now so this is a neutral point it clumps exactly like gelatin, so it takes A LOT OF work to get it actually into the bath PRO: it definitely works if you get enough of it dissolved in there - I was moisturized possibly got HA in places it was never meant to go it doesn't turn to gel, but you can feel the difference once you mix a ton in, and it's pleasant. So overall, more work than I'm guessing most people want to put in. But it does make the bath into a very nice and moisturizing experience. I would be FOR bath bomb or bath powder makers starting to include HA. If I wasn't working with 1-ingredient powder it wouldn't have clumped so much. I don't know the chemistry, but if it would work in a bath bomb I think it'd be a game changer. submitted by /u/tealparadise to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[Skin concerns] PSA: You are probably using hyaluronic acid wrong!
Moisture is the essence of wetness. And wetness is the essence of beauty. ~Derek Zoolander Used to use HA as a step in my skincare routine, but discontinued it due to not seeing it do much. And while moisturizers would make my skin feel hydrated, looking in the mirror my skin still looked aged and dehydrated. I'm not sure how to explain exactly what that means, but I knew how I wanted my skin to look and it wasn't happening: no glow, no luminosity, no natural highlights, no suppleness. One day I decided to play with hyaluronic acid. This is it, y'all. Here's what I do After washing with a very gentle cleanser that doesn't dry my skin, I splash a few times with water to rinse the cleanser. I quickly pat dry to remove the big droplets but still keep a sheen of water on my face. Put 4 drops of HA onto face: each cheek, forehead, and chin. Rub well into face, until you can feel the hyaluronic acid getting tacky. Spray your face with a spray bottle filled with plain water. I bought one for $1 at the dollar store (If you're like me you probably want to test this IMMEDIATELY RIGHT NOW so in a pinch you could just get water on your fingertips and lightly click your fingertips together over your face while looking up to rain water down onto your face. I do think the secret to this is to not use too much water, let the HA draw the water into your skin, don't flood it. The spray bottle feels nicer tho) You can either continue to rub the water in, and spray more if still tacky. Repeat until face is no longer tacky (means all the HA has been absorbed). I probably do it 2-5 times, depending on the environment I'm sitting in. When it was cooler I only had to add water one more time, but now that its hot the water evaporates faster off my face so I need more applications of water to fully saturate the HA in my skin. I have been waking up with GLASS skin. I'm not exaggerating. No pics because I'm weird about privacy 😂 The best thing about this is I have ZERO irritation. I have pale skin that is very sensitive, I basically always have some degree of redness due to a myriad of environmental factors I can't always control. I've never seen my face less red! Its soft and smooth, and I have completely dropped moisturizers from my routine. Edit: I added moisturizers back about 2 years later, once my skin barrier was completely healed I did see moisturizers working for me again. Why I think it works Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant, which means it draws water from its surroundings. It can hold 1000x its weight in moisture! But that means it needs moisture to reach its full potential. I used to use it as an isolated step in my skin care, but discontinued it due to not really seeing much results. That was back before I realized it needed water. I tested this method by switching water out for witch hazel (one time) and moisturizer (one time) but found good ol plain water worked best. I use the Hylamide Low Molecular HA, but I am confident The Ordinary's HA would work similarly. So screw spending $80 on moisturizers. This works WAY better. (I also posted this in /r/beauty, hope this is ok) Edit: I have since learned this is now called "skin flooding" submitted by /u/KitsBeach to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]
