I like them, they've helped my hair but once I found out the actual science behind bond builders, ive realised im wasting money. Im using all this bond building stuff only to find out that its all temporary. none of this stuff permanently alters your hair, as soon as you stop using them, you lose the benefits. Once ive used up my k18 and olaplex I will just go back to using my redken as these extra steps arent doubling up the effects or permanently repairing like I was lead to believe. I hate that it’s so pricey, but after just one use I’m convinced. The volume lasted all day and was completely weightless — besides the additional volume, I couldn’t tell I had any product in my hair. It has a nice, light scent as well. I used about 6-8 sprays at the root on dry hair and used a blow dryer for about 30 seconds. I got the travel size for christmas after mentioning wanting to give it a try, but it was too rich for my blood. I really thought it couldn't be as good as everyone says, anyways. I decided to push the boundaries by using it on day 4 hair and.....dammit, this stuff is a magic potion. Pic 1 is day 4 hair, pic 2 is directly after spraying and brushing through, pic 3 is after a couple of hours. It didn't get me to freshly washed, but I would say that it easily got me to the day after a wash. I think the sweet spot for me will be for day 3s, or a sweaty day 2. I definitely reccomend it. Since no week on this subreddit passes without praising K18 AirWash as a miracle, I had to cave in and get one myself. And it instantly reminded me of one other dry shampoo mist I use occasionally, from got2b. So I thought I’d compare them in case you’re looking for something similar but don’t want to splurge as much (spoiler: got2b is much cheaper). After trying K18, here’s how the two compare for me — mixed with my actual experience: Ingredients & tech: K18 is marketed as a non-aerosol dry shampoo with biotech/odor-neutralising tech and microbeads instead of classic starch. got2B is a more traditional aerosol dry shampoo with starch + panthenol. In practice though, they both refresh my hair in a very similar way — I didn’t notice a dramatic difference that would justify the hype. Smell & alcohol feel: The scent is surprisingly close between the two. I’d say got2B smells a bit more alcohol-forward (or maybe it’s less perfumed?), so the scent lingers slightly longer after application. K18 feels a bit more “cosmetic,” which I prefer. Application / spray pattern: This was a big one for me. K18 has a very wide spray, so it goes everywhere and is harder to control. got2B’s spray is much more focused and precise, which makes it easier to target roots without coating half my head (or clothes). Residue & clothes: K18 actually stained my clothes, leaving tiny white dots wherever the mist landed. I didn’t expect that from something that’s supposed to be more “advanced.” Feel on hands: After using K18, it left a weird film on my hands that I couldn’t seem to wash off easily. I’ve never had that issue with got2B. Maybe because got2b doesn’t require to be massaged in, which may be another benefit. Price vs performance: This is where it really falls apart for me. K18 costs many times more than got2B, yet the end result on my hair feels extremely similar — if anything, got2B is easier and less messy to use. I can see why so many people love K18, and maybe it works amazingly for some hair types — but for me, the difference isn’t big enough to justify the price tag or the downsides. I ordered $320 worth of product during the sale, 3 travel size Killian perfumes, big size necessaire body lotion, body oil, and their new lippie, K18 volume spray, and Kérastase hair leave in. I received my box today (after having a HORRIBLE day) and was so excited to open it. Ripped it open and it has ONE item in it, the lotion. Rechecked my app and it says everything shipped together. Package 1 of 1, package weight approx 4 pounds on the label. The lotion in the box weighed 1.5 pounds. This is how I received it (pictured). Got on chat, was told there was nothing they could do. Called, was told there’s nothing they can do. Talked to a supervisor, told there’s nothing they can do and that they will not escalate further. For some backstory here, I’ve never even returned anything to Sephora, never had a single issue with anything in shipping that could cause me to look like a red flag, and I’ve been rouge every year for the last 10+ years. I am infuriated by this entire situation and the supervisor even acted like I was lying because “they checked the fed ex label and it said it weighed as if everything was in it”. I hate to say it. I can’t believe I’m even admitting to spending $50 on a dry shampoo but here I am. Day three hair actually being presentable and looks like it’s been freshly washed. I can’t tell if the third day is worth it since each spritz costs a fortune but I have to admit, it’s incredible to not have to was today. I’m a greasy hair girly. Normally my hair by the end of day one looks a little rough. Day two absolutely needs dry shampoo and day three usually feels like way too much dry shampoo to make it worth it but if done it in a squeeze. I could wash every day if I really had the energy but I really don’t. Plus I don’t like getting it wet that often because of how easy it breaks. This dry shampoo is magic though. It’s a spray so once it’s dry that’s it, fresh hair. No white cast, no residue. It looks like a fresh wash, not dry shampooed hair. I don’t know what else to say, it’s literally magic. I don’t know if I’ll buy again, let’s see how long it lasts. I do know this is the bar though. If you get a chance to buy it, do it! just wanted to post my results so far from k18. first pic is before i really started taking better care of my hair like 4-5 months ago. worst thing i was doing was heat everyday and no protectant. The after is after 6 consecutive washes using k18. i wash my hair every other day. now i’m going to use it every 4-6th wash like they suggest. i know my hair isn’t perfect but it feels ALOT better. so soft and smooth. i used to have TONS of breakage, still have some now but not nearly as much. my goal is getting my hair healthier and longer as it hasn’t grown in years 🥲 *also i don’t think i can give all the credit to k18 though. started following abbey yung and have been using all her recommendations. i definitely can physically feel the difference in my hair though from before the k18 and after. submitted by /u/jessssnicole to r/Haircare [link] [comments]

My hair is heavily damaged from years of rebonding, color, and just this March, I tried hair highlights/bleaching. I also did reroot in October. My hair has become like straw and sticky. I lost all hope so I went to the salon for help. They did Brazilian with olaplex for my hair treatment. After 2 weeks, the effect of the Brazilian faded and my hair is back to its unruly texture. I’ve lost all hope until I read about the positive reviews on K18. I bought the bottle and followed all the instructions: shampoo only, emulsify the mixture, use 4-6 times consecutively in each wash. I washed my hair every 3-4 days. Tbh it did help making my hair soft and it removed the sticky feeling, but it didn’t seem to have any results on my damaged hair. In fact, it looks even worse 😭 It looks like Hagrid’s hair. Please please what else can I do to fix my hair? 😭 It doesn’t seem to have weight and my hair looks like a frizzy Christmas tree 🌲 if I just let it down. I do want to keep coloring my hair because my natural black hair color doesn’t look good on me. Is there anything else I can do?
