Help with my hair - just tried k18 leave in mask
Hi, I just wanted to get some help with my hair. My hair has changed recently I think since I gave birth two years ago. I’ve been dying it but I think I’m going to stop cause my hair feels frizzier but idk if it’s due to new growth. I just tried the k18 leave in that a lot of people recommend and put a little k18 oil in but it still doesn’t seem soft or less frizzy. I don’t know if it’s because of new growth, etc. the second picture is showing how I have some really short hair maybe new growth or breakage from tying my hair up or from dying it. I tried mousse for the wavy hair technique and only comb in the shower and it looks nice but then the next day it’s a huge frizz ball and all my hair waves are gone. Does k18 take a while to work? Do I need to use it multiple times? Is my hair just more wavy now because of post partum? Is it extra frizzy cause of postpartum growth or from breakage? 1st photo is with k18 products 2nd photo is my short hair 3rd is when I tried mousse and wavy hair technique and slept on it with a bun. submitted by /u/RoonilWazlib2 to r/Haircare [link] [comments]

K18 hair mask - your opinion?

Is there actual evidence behind K18? Why are they charging $75 while other bond builders on the market are much less expensive?
I perused their website and they have a page about their patents and studies they have done but none of them pertain to their main product and whether or not it performs well on hair. I am aghast that a company is able to charge SO MUCH for a product but no one seems to have clear proof it works? Can someone please explain to me if it does? submitted by /u/Educational-Act-8932 to r/HaircareScience [link] [comments]

K18 Airwash vs Batiste for Dark Hair
If you have dark and very oily hair and have tried both the K18 Airwash and the Batiste dry shampoo for dark hair... Which do you prefer? I've been using Batiste for a while now, and several months ago even discovered the version for dark hair which was a game changer for me. I do find that the dark version of Batiste leaves dark color all over my face if I'm not careful, and all over my hands if I'm blocking my face, and sometimes still rubs off from my bangs onto my forehead. But I've considered this a price worth paying for no white cast on my very dark brown hair. Recently I've started to see people online talking about the K18 Airwash and I'm wondering if I'm exactly the target audience for this type of product? But it's hard to swallow the idea of spending $48 on a dry shampoo, which is why I'm hoping for insight from people who have similar hair experiences as I do. I mostly solved my white cast issue with the dark hair version of Batiste, put it does leave that color everywhere. I'm wondering if the K18 Airwash would be better for this? But I've seen some reviews say that the K18 leaves white powder on their face, which would honestly be equally annoying. I welcome any insights you have. For context, my hair is extremely oily. Oily like if I shower at night I want to use dry shampoo in the morning. Oily like the only thing holding my hair together is the fact that I use a clarifying shampoo every wash. If you've tried the K18 Airwash, can you answer some of these questions? Do you experience white powder getting on your face and elsewhere? Is it actually different from other dry shampoos you've used? How long does one bottle last you? Please mention whether you have the travel size or the full size and how often you use it. How much product do you use at once, and how oily do you consider your hair to be? TIA! submitted by /u/real-tough-kid13 to r/finehair [link] [comments]

K18 did nothing for me - what does my hair need? How do hairdressers make it crazy smooth and shiny every time?
Prefacing this with autoimmune diagnoses I got a few years ago and they absolutely wrecked my hair. I used to be the girlie everyone was jealous of in school. Waistlong hair out of any Pantene ad. Smooth-wavy texture, so much shine, huge volume. Super mega fine and sensitive, but dense as heck. Always prone to dryness and breakage but nothing that good lifestyle choices (diet, etc.) and the right products and routine couldn't fix. Now my hair has lost about 50% of its density due to telogen effluvium bouts, and on top of that it's just damaged. It looks so stripped away of all cuticle, I get constant tangles, it thins out at the end and is just a strawy, stringy, dry, lifeless and lackluster mess. I don't recognize it. I stopped all coloring literally a decade ago, this is my virgin hair. The damage is not chemical in that sense. I don't wear tight styles and always let it air dry, so it's not mechanical or heat damage either. I am also up to date on ALL labs and blood panels because my disease gives me deficiencies across the board. I made sure to erase them all with healthy lifestyle choices regarding diet&supplements, sleep, exercise, stress management. Very on top of it. So that can be ruled out too. My skin has not only come back but actually become the best it's ever been. I narrowed skin care down to VitA aka retinoids, VitC, AHA/PHA and SPF. That's it. Occasional VitB aka niacinamides, peptides, ceramides, and other actives (acelaic or tranexamic acid). I want the same for my hair. There must be something similar out there so it can be restored, revived and replenished the way any salon treatment like Olaplex 1 or others by Redken, Aveda or Maria Nila achieve it. These power actives and ingredients that are just *right* for my hair type and problems I have with it. I recently bought the k18 detox shampoo which my scalp L O V E S. It's the perfect formula. I feel clean but not dried out at all, and I personally find that it smells divine too. Very citrus-y. I also bought their viral hair mask everyone and their mother has been raving about - and I got absolutely nothing so far. I expected that insane smoothness and shine Olaplex 1 gives me. But it didn't happen. What I can say after 2 uses of the k18 hair mask is that my hair feels maybe a bit fuller and stronger. But nothing crazy. I do use it exactly as advertised. After the detox shampoo on towel dried hair, emulsifying 2-3 pumps in my hands until the product turns an opaque white shade. Then working it into my lengths in sections and personally I don't condition after. I just leave my hair alone after the 4 minute mark the mask is supposed to take. So many videos reported that their hair instantly felt smoother even while putting the mask on and that hasn't happened for me either. What am I missing? What does my hair need? Why is k18 not working? I was so excited to see what all the fuss is about and at that insane price I'm almost irritated it gave me absolutely nothing so far. I want my hair back 🥺😩 help a sis out pls. It breaks because it's too weak and I'm at my wits end on how to prevent this from happening submitted by /u/thisbuthat to r/beauty [link] [comments]

they told me i couldn’t do it
after hours of my own research and a year of putting it into practice, here we are today. wanted to share some tips on how i grew out my extremely bleach damaged hair without putting down the bleach in hopes i can help someone else. here is what i learned after so many people told me that i would have to dye my hair dark or stop bleaching to get it to grow again: root touch ups only: don’t wait longer than about 8 weeks or your hair will start growing at different rates causing a higher risk of breakage / banding. i also don’t like going under 5 weeks as stylists are not robots and a little bit of overlap is unavoidable which will cause slight damage every time. i find 7 weeks to be the sweet spot that allows my hair to rest while not risking banding. partials or fulls are actually more damaging as it’s virtually impossible for your stylist to not go over the same blonde pieces. always root touch ups. NO HEAT. put that straightener down. i have not used a hot tool since March 2025 and I never will again. most of my damage in the left photo was caused by trying to have my cake and eat it too. you can have long bleached hair, but you cannot style it with the same heat you use to bake cookies. absolutely NO products with protein. protein overload is real, and it will cause your hair to snap. the abby young method is not for us. i meticulously read the ingredients of all my products and only use that which has no hydrolysed keratin, wheat protein etc. moisture products only!!! (they do not need to be expensive, just moisturizing, not repairing) LESS IS MORE: i use a k18 oil leave in and a leave in spray. that’s it. especially if you have fine hair. i used to overload my hair with products hoping something would work. in the end, it just weighed my hair down and contributed to dryness and breakage. keep to a simple routine and let time do its thing. a silk pillowcase and microfiber towel are not just marketing hype. they truly have helped me to have less tangles = less breakage when i brush. also, don’t brush your hair wet. i do now, but i didn’t for a year while it was very fragile. also used a wet brush and a boar bristle brush when it was completely dry 1x daily to spread natural oils *wanted to note that i do not like silk bonnets. i find that the bands are always elastic and pull at my baby hairs on my neck and hairline causing additional breakage, especially after a fresh root touch up don’t overwash. i find once every 3-4 days to be the sweet spot. more and your hair will be dry, less and your hair will be dry. it’s a constant yin yang (optional) stop with the purple shampoo. they’re super drying. as you can see in the left photo, i was going ham on the purple shampoo. it completely stripped my hair. i dont use jt anymore and while my hair is a little yellow, its so much healthier. embrace the slight yellow. go for a toner if absolutely needed but the best is just a good lift so you dont have to cover the imperfections. and if you’re only doing root touch ups and correctly, it should not be hard to get to a buttery level 10. no extensions. i know it’s hard in the beginning because bleached hair can get so thin, but it’s a bandaid solution. there is no extension type that won’t cause noticeable damage (yes even clips). If you absolutely must, i’ve heard good things about halo although i personally choose to abstain i’m a natural level 6 btw. people will tell you the bleach is ruining your hair but im living proof it doesn’t have to be that way. 9/10 people can’t sustain blonde because they dont have the knowledge on how to maintain it. it can’t be treated like non bleached hair. but i promise you can bleach it and have it look healthy. you just gotta change your routine. there’s a lot of misinformation about this online especially surrounding the products to use. stay away from k18 repair mask. i hope this has been informative to someone. once i started seeing platinum hair as a hobby that needs to be maintained rather than just a hair color, i was really able to grow it. and i hope to grow it even longer! my goal is waist length by next year. good luck to everyone growing out their blonde and if you have any additional tips, please share them! submitted by /u/Valuable_Canary_4874 to r/Haircare [link] [comments]

My hair officially hates k18
I have fine, thin-medium density, long highlighted hair. I used to wear it in a bob but my hair was so nice during pregnancy that I started growing it out and have kept with it. I recently went for my highlight touch up (I go every 14 weeks or so) and I asked her to brighten the lengths some as I felt they were getting darker. I think it pushed my hair to the limit and I noticed a lot of breakage after. So I got some k18. Used it twice per the instructions but did condition after the 4 min because I knew my hair would not be happy without it. My hair felt so frizzy, dry, and straw like those 2 days. So I went out and bought the dove intensive hair mask and some opalex hair oil, figuring it needed more moisture. The last wash I skipped the k18 and just focused on replenishing moisture. My hair felt much better after. Today I decided to resume the 4-6 days k18 treatment that is recommended, but to also use the hair mask and hair oil with it to see if I could balance. Well my hair is the worst I have seen it. So dry, brittle, frizzy. I can’t tell if the breakage is worse or if the dryness just makes it look worse. I feel like I am the perfect candidate for k18 and was really hoping it would help. But I just feel like my hair does not like it and maybe I should toss it? Or do I assume the treatment is still working and brace for bad hair days the days I use it? submitted by /u/BMC1118 to r/Haircare [link] [comments]

So is K18 the best or worst product ever?
Whenever I read about K18 it's either comments saying "K18 completely ruined my hair" or "K18 saved my life"... so which is it? I have bleach damage and am deciding between purchasing K18 or Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate. I'm lost. Help! submitted by /u/Happy-Toe-2280 to r/Haircare [link] [comments]

Is K18 really worth it?
I’ve seen a lot of fine thin hair women online saying K18 has changed their life. What is your personal experience with this product? submitted by /u/ZzzzzMm to r/finethinhair [link] [comments]

Maybe not the most dramatic difference, but getting somewhere with growth and thickness! Oct 2025-Feb 2026
Here are some progress pics of mine from October 2025 to Feb 2026! I know it’s not amazing, but it’s some progress for me which is better than none! The bottom is finally not completely transparent . 1- I stopped wearing my hair up in loose/protective styles while sleeping 2- tried my best to hack off split ends with sharp shears every few weeks( I need a proper hair cut as you can see it’s no the most even) 3- k18 leave in! I hate that’s expensive but it really helps with the breakage over time 4-if I’m wearing my hair up during the day, only use a claw clip. 5- style my hair less and wear down as much as possible My hair has always been fine, thin and kinda shit but it got much thinner last year. It was snapping off mid lengths and I did not know what to do. #1 thing that helped was stopping wearing my hair up or in loose buns while I slept. I sleep like a maniac and my hair knots like crazy, so even if the bun was loose with a satin scrunch I would manage to rip a lot of my hair out when it knots with itself. I also stopped wearing my hair up with hair ties. If I have to wear it up, I use a claw clip but try to do so sparingly. Product wise, k18 leave in has helped a good bit with some trial and error. I also have tried my best to DIY cut off my split ends. I need to get a proper blunt cut as I have some uneven bits, but overall I’m happy some changes have worked. submitted by /u/stickbugbitch to r/finethinhair [link] [comments]

Clarification regarding the hairdresser post shared yesterday
Hello, we are the hairdressers from Renu Hair. We’re posting to provide clarification following a post shared yesterday that has resulted in false and misleading allegations about our business. Unfortunately, the situation has escalated online, with details being altered across multiple posts, which has caused confusion and led to negative commentary from people who were not involved in the appointment. We want to outline what actually occurred from start to finish so the full context is available, as the facts of the appointment have not changed. The client booked in for a full head of foils/ on scalp bleach, the starting price for this is from $420 During the consultation, the client had shown how she wished for her hair to look. The only way to achieve those results were with bleach (as booked). Visible banding was identified, which meant the service required to be changed to a colour correction rather than a standard full head of foils/ on scalp bleach. This is where the price changed to $520. All our pricing and booking conditions can be found on our website. The pricing was discussed in full during the consultation and prior to beginning any work. the total cost was shown on our iPad including a break down of each service, alternative options were offered had this price been out of the clients budget A toner-only option was explained as a lower-cost alternative, with the clear understanding that the banding would reappear once the toner faded, for this we would not be liable as her existing colour was not done by us. Due to the condition of the hair, a k18 package treatment was recommended as an optional add-on, which the client agreed to. A haircut and styling were also included. The final total reflected the services discussed and confirmed prior to commencing. The appointment took approximately 4.5 hours and involved two hairdressers working together. The service performed included on-scalp bleach, as well as through the mids due to banding, root tap, toner, k18 treatment, haircut and curls. This is not comparable to a simple tone and cut, which generally takes significantly less time. Payment options were discussed beforehand, including Afterpay and Zip Pay, and the client chose how they wished to proceed. No services were added without consent, and no pricing was presented after the fact. We’re sharing this to provide full context and factual information, not to engage in arguments. We understand everyone’s budget is different, which is why we are upfront with pricing and always confirm details before proceeding submitted by /u/Adelinadilsen to r/Geelong [link] [comments]

My last dollars spent here - EVER
I ordered $320 worth of product during the sale, 3 travel size Killian perfumes, big size necessaire body lotion, body oil, and their new lippie, K18 volume spray, and Kérastase hair leave in. I received my box today (after having a HORRIBLE day) and was so excited to open it. Ripped it open and it has ONE item in it, the lotion. Rechecked my app and it says everything shipped together. Package 1 of 1, package weight approx 4 pounds on the label. The lotion in the box weighed 1.5 pounds. This is how I received it (pictured). Got on chat, was told there was nothing they could do. Called, was told there’s nothing they can do. Talked to a supervisor, told there’s nothing they can do and that they will not escalate further. For some backstory here, I’ve never even returned anything to Sephora, never had a single issue with anything in shipping that could cause me to look like a red flag, and I’ve been rouge every year for the last 10+ years. I am infuriated by this entire situation and the supervisor even acted like I was lying because “they checked the fed ex label and it said it weighed as if everything was in it”. Sephora will never get another penny from me. is it okay to use K18 hair oil everyday?
My hair is extremely dry, always has been. I’ve started using K18 oil and I really like it, I typically put a few drops in my hair every night, and sometimes a few drops in the morning as well and i’ve noticed good results. I do worry because I used a protein heavy conditioner last year that caused a lot of my hair to snap off. Could this happen with the K18 oil as well? or is it safe for daily use? submitted by /u/Kind-Persimmon3398 to r/Haircare [link] [comments]

Why does my hair looks like this after washing? It looks so frizzy and dry. I already use olaplex number 3, kerastase or olaplex shampo, K18 and masks… After a day my hair looks better but after washing it looks so ugly :(

This is THE shit for dry, brittle hair ✨ K18 ✨
I have dry, brittle, color-treated hair, and my ends are especially parched. I was torn between Olaplex No. 3 and K18, and I’m so glad I chose K18! The hype is absolutely justified—I was blown away by the results. My hair feels softer, shinier, and healthier than ever! submitted by /u/Background_Ant3822 to r/indianbeautyhauls [link] [comments]

k18 results
just wanted to post my results so far from k18. first pic is before i really started taking better care of my hair like 4-5 months ago. worst thing i was doing was heat everyday and no protectant. The after is after 6 consecutive washes using k18. i wash my hair every other day. now i’m going to use it every 4-6th wash like they suggest. i know my hair isn’t perfect but it feels ALOT better. so soft and smooth. i used to have TONS of breakage, still have some now but not nearly as much. my goal is getting my hair healthier and longer as it hasn’t grown in years 🥲 *also i don’t think i can give all the credit to k18 though. started following abbey yung and have been using all her recommendations. i definitely can physically feel the difference in my hair though from before the k18 and after. submitted by /u/jessssnicole to r/Haircare [link] [comments]

BADLY NEED HELP! Nothing seems to work on my hair. Here’s my K18 journey
My hair is heavily damaged from years of rebonding, color, and just this March, I tried hair highlights/bleaching. I also did reroot in October. My hair has become like straw and sticky. I lost all hope so I went to the salon for help. They did Brazilian with olaplex for my hair treatment. After 2 weeks, the effect of the Brazilian faded and my hair is back to its unruly texture. I’ve lost all hope until I read about the positive reviews on K18. I bought the bottle and followed all the instructions: shampoo only, emulsify the mixture, use 4-6 times consecutively in each wash. I washed my hair every 3-4 days. Tbh it did help making my hair soft and it removed the sticky feeling, but it didn’t seem to have any results on my damaged hair. In fact, it looks even worse 😭 It looks like Hagrid’s hair. Please please what else can I do to fix my hair? 😭 It doesn’t seem to have weight and my hair looks like a frizzy Christmas tree 🌲 if I just let it down. I do want to keep coloring my hair because my natural black hair color doesn’t look good on me. Is there anything else I can do? Please please I’m desperate for anything. submitted by /u/PhoenixSwordmaster to r/Hair [link] [comments]

K18 hair mask and breakage
Hi everyone, A couple of months ago, my hairdresser advised me to use this k18 hair mask product as my hair is damaged from bleaching and my goal is for it to be a bit healthier. For context, I have thin hair but a lot of it and it is wavy. I followed her advice and I have been using it as she instructed. That is, shampooing, towel dry, apply the k18 mask and leave my hair for 4 minutes and the I can do what I like with it. I had been using it for every wash (as she advised), mostly 2-3 times a week. I’ve since noticed a lot more breakage and my hair doesn’t feel great. I’m wondering if it is from the lack of conditioning or the product itself? Or even both? Has anyone else had similar issues with this product? I’m at the point where I think I might just get a fair bit cut off. My hair dresser raved about the product but I’m not too sure. submitted by /u/Stormglory88 to r/Haircare [link] [comments]
