An Editor Read “A Court of Thorns and Roses” By Sarah J. Maas
Hello! This is this a review of a popular book and what I thought of it, both as an editor and someone who just loves to read. Note: I had no idea the author was planning to go on a podcast and make an announcement this week – if I had that kind of premonition, I wouldn’t be editing for a living! I also have made a point not to read any of the other posts about this series that have popped up this week to avoid spoiling myself on what was to come. Disclaimer: These reviews are to help with understanding the editorial perspective and my notes mean nothing when it comes to the enjoyability of a book – as one Redditer told me, the world is a dumpster fire and sometimes we just need our trashy fun. Furthermore, a book with no editorial “flaws” can be a snoozefest (see the majority of textbooks for proof!). Please have fun, be kind to others, and tell me what you like/dislike about this book in the comments! Book Details: Title: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas Series Name: A Court of Thorns and Roses (1 of 7?) Page Count: 448 pages Publish Date: June 2, 2020 Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing Publisher’s Plot Description: I cut this for space. It’s ACOTAR – we know what it’s about. If you need more, imagine the Beauty and the Beast with Fae (and a Belle that can’t read for some reason? Guess her useless family didn’t feel the need to teach her that trick). My Means of Reading: Kindle Paperwhite Fantasy Style: High Fantasy (A non-Earth world with magical elements) Review TLDR: I will start by thanking Maas for rejuvenating a dying genre, and I acknowledge the risk the publisher took in creating this book back in the day, but I can’t say this novel does much that hasn’t been done better by others before and since. The story depends on plot holes, the characters are inconsistent in their development, and the worldbuilding is pretty lackluster. I’m aware the series is supposed to get better later on, but if you have to struggle through this to get there…ask yourself if it’s worth it. I certainly had to force myself to finish this, and that’s saying something. So, that said, if you are still reading this, you know how my review is about to go down. Grab your torch and pitchforks, and let’s do this. Spice Level: 3/5; Open door – the romance is not rushed, which I give Maas of credit for, but it isn’t well developed either. There are scenes of them learning to get along, but the narrative lacks any tension when it’s so obvious the MMC is angling for a relationship from day one without any clear reservations about doing so. She’s a murderous human, but he’s very quick to let that go. (SPOILER: I know there’s a narrative reason, but if the only reason the relationship exists is because the plot demands it, it feels weak) From Feyre’s side, a lot of the tension felt contrived as she would bounce back and forth between liking her new home and hating herself for liking it. In the hands of a stronger writer, this conflict could have been interesting, but sadly I think in this case it just felt like filler to keep the leads apart a while longer. There isn’t a lot of thought on her part of her falling in love with him, so it feels a bit hollow when they’re suddenly ride-or-die. Also, does anyone else feel like it’s strange that Tamlin never offered to teach her to read…? Pacing/Filler: I was hoping that, like other novels I’ve read for this series that are best described as “popcorn” reads, this book would balance its lack of quality writing with a least a fast-paced narrative (e.g. Zodiac Academy or Flutter). Unfortunately, this is not the case. Feyre spends a lot of time in her head, repeating to herself the same tired mantras. It slows the book down and makes what could have at least been an entertaining read into a slog. Moreover, the extensive descriptions of, well, everything means that most scenes could probably be a third shorter than they are. Pity. It’s one thing to be badly written, but isn’t a worse crime to be boring as well? Character Development**:** When the entire premise of a book relies on characters acting like idiots, or when it relies on characters defying all logic and common sense, the reader should know they are in for a rough time. Feyre’s inability to listen to the good advice of others alone is reason enough to chuck my kindle across the room. I genuinely wondered at times if she wanted to die. Then again, she’s not the only idiot plot driver in this book. The first characterization we have of the Fae MMC in his opening scene is him screeching like a banshee about his best friend being murdered by a human, and yet his first major act isn’t to take bloody revenge (as the vaunted Treaty between Fae and humans says he should) but rather to offer the FMC a new home in fairyland. I don’t know, guys. I just can’t let that go. It’s the entire premise of the book and it is built on the angry monster man being a sweetie to the woman who viciously slaughtered his friend, rather than just ripping her throat out and being done with it. I suppose it comes from Tamlin’s characterization as a traumatized, lonely hero – at one point he even gives a speech about fighting for freedom that I swear I heard once come out of Mel Gibson’s mouth – so I’m not sure what his arc was supposed to be; he’s pretty generically perfect from the start of the book. Feyre (fae-re, get it??), on the other hand, is a teenager who is both supposedly starving to death but yet also strong enough to carry the dead weight of a grown deer + a massive wolf hide back over several miles of unimproved winter terrain in suboptimal weather conditions. Feyre’s arc, as short lived as it is, comes from her learning that Fae are people and not monsters, but the speed at which she overcomes her prejudice and becomes enlightened cheapens the effect, I think. She barely knows any Fae, but suddenly she is mourning them like they are family…after seeing one die. Never mind that she spent the beginning of the book telling us she hoped the Fae would all suffer for their crimes – seeing the MMC sad because a stranger died in his living room was enough to cure this FMC of a lifetime of hate. Amazing. Meanwhile, her personality can be summed up as, “woe is me,” “not like the other girls,” and “I like pretty colors, isn’t that weird?” Yes, she is willing to work hard, and that resolve is good because she would probably not last ten seconds into a conversation with Nesta without it, but my god. I know nothing about this girl except that she likes to draw, can’t read, and has no backbone when it comes to her family. Supposedly it comes from a promise she made as an eight-year-old to her fridged mother; a mother who felt very comfortable asking her youngest child (not her husband, not her older kids, the eight-year-old) to protect and provide for the family. I have questions. Also, fuck that family – their lack of agency in their own survival beggars disbelief rather than sympathy. I genuinely was hoping the MMC was going to eat at least one of them…but then I realized that would probably make it hard for the FMC to make googly eyes at him later. Still…As for the other side characters, there are few worth talking about. But if someone can clue me in on whether Lucien gets his own book one day, I’d be grateful. His characterization is the least rushed and by far the most interesting to me. As for Rhysand…well, he’s a character all right. Can’t say I buy his “noble asshole” vibe, but it’s more entertaining than Tamlin’s blandness. World Building: Mass doesn’t seem overly concerned about building a unique world for us to explore – she has her FMC unconscious for most of the trip to fairyland, and once she crosses the border we are immediately thrust into a description of the MMC’s home. Is his house the entrance to the Fae territory? It must be, since Feyre didn’t see practically anything else between the massive gate splitting the human turf from the Fae’s and the MMC’s front door. That’s the level of effort you can expect for most of the world – it’s generic Western-fantasy land with the usual line up of myths and monsters (and the odd Bible reference). If you’ve read any romantasy at all, you know already the world Maas describes. It’s just that others have written the same descriptions, but so much better, so I won’t go into much detail here because there isn’t a lot of detail to share. The only other thing I will say is that Maas’ lore dumps are frequent, but tend to repeat information. Be prepared to read a lot and learn a little, I suppose. Obvious Errors an Author/Editor Should Have Caught: The second sentence. The second sentence in the whole damn book. I remember why I DNF’ed this so hard six years ago – the author doesn’t know what a parameter is. She may have meant perimeter, which would have made some fucking sense in context, but she didn’t say that, did she? Look, I did my best to give her the benefit of the doubt, I know how much this book is loved in certain circles, but when you try to pass your FMC as a badass hunter you can’t mix up words related to fighting in THE SECOND SENTENCE. I could also rant about Maas’ abuse of adjectives (she really, really loves describing every noun in detail), or maybe about her constant use of modern idioms and slang, but I suspect you get what I’m trying to say. Weirdly enough, however, Maas knows how to wield a semi-colon correctly. For me, this sparks joy. At this point I suppose it’s worth ending my screed about errors (grammatical, editorial, or otherwise) because it’s clear this book is not the sort that cares. So often in this genre readers ask why the quality of the writing is so low, or why publishers push fantasy romance novels out with minimal polish, and the answer is simple: this book. This book, which took romantasy from the edges of polite society and made it a behemoth of popular literature, is not well-written, edited, or produced. And once publishers realized how starved we the readers are for any content in this genre, they knew they didn’t have to put the same effort in to appeal to us that they would in other areas. I don’t know if they are to blame – I bought this book to review it, so I have clearly contributed to the profits of this novel – but I know they took a financial gamble and won big. It makes sense that publishers wouldn’t make the effort to do more, since ACOTAR has proven its ability to sell gangbusters without it. It’s up to us as readers to demand more; time will tell who will win in this fight of quality vs. quantity. Bechdel Test Survivor**:** Happy to report it passes – the sisters alone chatter enough to pass the test, but there are other women involved in the story too. Content Warnings: Mutilations, emotional abuse from siblings, sexual harassment with clear intent to assault (not from the MMC), sexual assault (not rape, not from the MMC). Is the FMC/MMC Unfaithful: Decidedly not. These two are clearly not the type to cheat – they are both too obsessed with keeping promises to even think about it. Not that they would, as they only ever had eyes for each other. If You Like This, I Recommend: Entreat Me by Grace Draven or Uprooted by Naomi Novik for the B&B retellings (or just watch the movie!), Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson for the dangerous Fae romance, and Kiss of Iron by Clare Sanger for a feisty hunter who gets in over her head in Fae politics. As I said in the TLDR, ACOTAR doesn’t do anything that hasn’t been done better by others – so why not go read those instead? Previously Reviewed: Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson Next Review Is: The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. I need something that is not Fae related or a B&B retelling. What did you think of “A Court of Thorns and Roses?” Tell me in the comments and give me ideas on what books you want reviewed next. Why is everyone so obsessed with A Court of Thorns and Roses?
My tattoo artist told me that I absolutely had to read ACOTAR and said that is was the best series ever, and I had the same response from a number of other people. It’s also raved about on tiktok. I decided that I would read it, so I purchased the series on my kindle (it was $52 so I am so dissapointed I don’t like it 🥲) and it is extremely boring. I can’t make it past the first book and the part I did read was me forcing myself to read. The book moves so slowly and I just don’t get the point of it. Maybe it’s one of those series that gets better the more you read but I can’t even be bothered finding out. Are all the girlies reading ACOTAR and Fourth Wing?
I had been hearing a bit about them (especially ACOTAR) so I finally bit the bullet and read the first book of A Court of Thorns and Roses and Fourth Wing. I do love fantasy and YA (think Percy Jackson, the Hunger Games, etc.) and I enjoy a cute slow burn romance but I haven’t really read a lot of “romantasy”. And I have a lot to say lmao😭. If anyone has read them please share your experiences and thoughts! I want to keep this post short so I’ll probably say more in the comments but a short summary of my thoughts so far: ACOTAR (I only read the first book.) It was overall a fun/ easy read. The writing and pacing make it hard to put down. But tbh it felt kind of unserious. The world felt like it existed for the plot, rather than the plot naturally happening because of the world it is set in. Which in turn made the world feel less real to me. Some goes for the characters (especially Feyres family). Now to my biggest issue: Feyre. I was honestly so frustrated with how stupid she is in 99% of the book😩😭 I think she might be somewhat inspired by Katniss Everdeen but she lacks the intelligence and forethought that made Katniss feel real- like she has what it takes to survive. Feyre on the other hand is constantly doing things that she has been repeatedly told are dangerous and life threatening and then acts surprised when those things are actually shoker dangerous and life threatening.. Then she doesn’t even listen to the advice she almost dies for 🫠 oh well. My second issue was the sheer amount of violence and suffering at the end of the book. Idk what I was expecting but it just kind of felt gross to me and like I was “watching” a weird “fetish”(?). Like I don’t mind violence if it feels like it furthers a point or an emotional payoff but here it just felt an over the top and unnecessary. Ultimately it’s what stopped me from getting the second book because I simply didn’t enjoy or see the point. Summary: pretty fun/ entertaining to read but frustrating main character (the other characters too tbh) and violent ending. (Also very weird/inappropriate timing of the last s*x scene) Fourth Wing: (currently reading Iron Flame) I read this after ACOTAR and actually enjoyed it way more! The world felt more real and the romance was a nice slow burn and the payoff felt satisfying. The writing is also pretty good and the characters feel more real. Again my main gripe is the intelligence of the MC. Even though Violet is often described as this extremely intelligent person I don’t feel like we actually get to see it often. She’s not stupid but the fact that her high intelligence is constantly mentioned highlights how average it is. How are you that intelligent but talking “secretly” in places where you are so easily spotted? Especially in Iron Flame she’s become kind of annoying with this whole woe is me. Like girl the life of literally millions of people are on the line and you are mad someone held secrets about things that are dare I say way more important than you?? Especially after what happened in the last book? Isn’t trying to survive and save humanity a bit more important rn? You don’t really need more secrets to keep. But anyways I digress.. I understand that it’s hard to write a really intelligent character. Summary: Fun read, interesting world, nice romantic build up, but the main character isn’t as intelligent as she is described to be. I wish we saw her have more forethought and strategic thinking. Tbh I kind of went in blind reading these books so I didn’t really know what I was getting into but overall it’s been fun. I’m curious what people like so much about them. I think I have just read too many really well written books growing up (as many of us probably have) lol. Anyway I’m excited to read what you guys think of these books! submitted by /u/NervousCup6934 to r/books [link] [comments]

I really really do not like ACOTAR (A court of thorns and roses)
Hi guys! Quick post because I went on TikTok to see people talking about how good ACOTAR was and I can't stand it (shoot me if you think I am horrible for this). I forced myself to read the first book. Did not even TOUCH the second book. ('m just joking I read a chapter or two then literally flung it away). Like the best way to describe it was: it felt like the world had been built around the characters rather then the characters being built INTO the world. (idk if this makes sense). When I was reading it in my head there were like 10 people in this whole faeirie (??? idk the spelling tbh) kingdom. Everyone other then the two men fairie and the maid (who somehow was the most developed character) were evil. There is so much I could say about this book (nothing good don't worry I haven't lost my mind yet) I have been reading since I first learnt English. My first every memory of coming to this country was going to the library. Me and my brother would get 16 books (which was the max) EACH and finish them in 2 weeks. I was top reader in my school for years. What I am trying to say is I'm the type of person who has read ALOT and also reads EVERYTHING. I can read literal kid novels to classic literature. NOTHING I have ever read has made my blood boil as much as ACOTAR has. Like I have read online books with SHITTY GRAMMAR and spelling mistakes so bad you question the persons credibility yet they have been better then whatever this mess was. I am so sorry 😭 I think the part that pissed me off was that people were hyping it up. (I am convinced people only like to read the SMUT parts. As long as it has SMUT it's top literature. Like it doesn't matter if she got assaulted and just 'forgave' the guy - people will EAT IT UP if its sexual 😭 submitted by /u/crzgr7l to r/books [link] [comments]

Anyone else joyfully falling down the Fourth Wing to A Court of Thorns and Roses pipeline?
I absolutely adored Fourth Wing and Iron Flame and got the biggest book hangover once I had finished both (shoutout to the Fantasy Fangirls podcast for helping with this lol it's like our own little book club) so my husband bought me ACOTAR for Christmas and I'm just so happy with reading all of these fun fantasy romance novels to pass the time and escape reality a little bit. I've read lots of the "typical" fantasy series before - Harry Potter (basically my whole childhood,) LOTR, Hunger Games, Divergent, etc. but Fourth Wing was my first introduction to the Romantasy genre and I am newly obsessed!! I've seen lots of people who have previously read the SJM books who then read FW & IF but I'm wondering if anyone else is like me and is now fully ready to dive into the SJM universe and other similar reads because of the Empyrean series! 🥹 submitted by /u/protestgrandma to r/fourthwing [link] [comments]

I made a drinking game for Sara J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses series (a rant)
Take a drink every time: a character’s throat bobs the word “male” appears a villain explains their entire evil plan to the protagonist for no justifiable reason you physically cringe during a sex scene two consecutive paragraphs start with “indeed” a character blasts their way out of a perilous situation with a convenient but totally improbable burst of hitherto unknown power a fragrance is described by more than 3 words Caution: unless you have a heroic tolerance for alcohol, you’ll be dead by the end of the first chapter. This was my first time reading Sara J Maas. I had my doubts from the first book but I kept going as it does have a tendency to hook you. I made it halfway through A Court of Wings and Ruin (book 3) before I decided to stop torturing myself. I honestly think the editors (and possibly SJM herself) gave up too. This series is self-insert junk food fantasy. I felt like Feyre had some Mary Sue (do people still use that term?) tendencies from book one, chapter one, when she takes down a Fae wolf with a single arrow and somehow packs out its pelt and an entire deer in the dead of winter, but her struggles under the mountain had me rooting for her. Gradually, she and all of her posse just gets so overpowered that you know there is nothing they can realistically struggle with. It’s boring. The characters are one-dimensional with flimsy backstories. There could be some poignant parallels made to the brutal practices of real cultures, but their past experiences just end up reading like torture porn. Most of them don’t struggle with their traumas in any kind of realistic way. The dialogue is cringey and unrealistic. Feyre’s family is absolutely toxic and the surrounding characters just sort of chuckle and roll their eyes when Nesta says something horrific (Oh that Nesta!). I can’t think of any reason why Cassian would be attracted to her other than critically low self esteem. Tamlin becomes a caricature of an abusive ex. I initially liked Rhysand as the bad guy with a heart of gold, but his character development consists of him slowly turning into a cardboard cutout of an ideal partner. Or hurtling solo into peril for no apparent reason (Insert Vin Diesel saying something about FAMILY). And don’t get me started on the female protagonists. It’s honestly hard for me to believe that this series was written by an adult woman. Feyre’s breasts literally swell when she’s aroused. I felt like I was reading Stephen King. Some of the sex scenes made me physically shudder. It’s like they were written by a virgin who has no understanding of human anatomy or intimacy. The writing style constantly took me out of the story. SJM overuses words so much (indeed). She’s overly sentimental and she blatantly plagiarizes lines from famous novels and slightly rewords them. It was more forgivable when the story was developing, but by book 3, it’s just pages and pages of preparing for battle with Hybern, a cartoonishly evil nemesis with feeble motivations. And I was honestly rooting for him by the time I quit reading. I’m glad that people can look past the flaws and enjoy this series for what it is, but I don’t see myself reading any more of SJM’s books. I’m sure I’m late to the game on this series, but I needed to vent. I would love to hear your take on it or more rules for the drinking game. Maybe it will help me finish it. Or die of alcohol poisoning trying. UPDATE - Additional rules submitted by others in this thread: every time someone "purrs" or "growls." whenever there is toe curling any time she says “alpha” or “smirks” whenever she alludes to the size of the love interest's member she calls the love interest a "prick" someone makes a "vulgar" gesture someone's bowels turn to water "my mate" someone's bones make any kind of canine noise (barking, growling) an ellipsis or emdash a character is described as "predatory" a character removes a an invisible piece of lint from their clothes "she could have sworn..." We're all going to die of liver failure. Cheers to all of you males and females (and everyone in between). May The Cauldron bless you. And thanks for the gold! submitted by /u/mopspops to r/Fantasy [link] [comments]

Well-written, mature, adult version of A Court of Thorns and Roses?
Hi all—I was peer pressured to read this series by the hype surrounding it & friends promising me it’ll be the best fantasy series I’ll ever read. I’m halfway through the second book and I truly cannot finish. These books are so tragically juvenile, the characters are written like angsty teenagers, and despite my curiosity about the world-building, I can’t read anymore. Whoever told me it was filled with smut (sorry, guilty pleasure) doesn’t know the definition of the word. Does this sub have any recommendations for books that are similar in nature and theme but are actually well-written, deep, enticing, and just generally intelligent? Like in a perfect world I would eat this series up it been written similarly to like, Game of Thrones mixed with True Blood. A delightful combination! EDIT: The recommendations don’t have to be only smut! Lol! I’m just saying that ACOTAR was sold to me as such, and it’s not. I’m just looking for mature, intelligent series that are similar to ACOTAR. EDIT 2: Thank you all so much for these amazing recommendations. submitted by /u/centaur22 to r/Fantasy [link] [comments]

I know nothing about A Court of Thornes and Roses. Ask me anything.
My girlfriend is a massive fan of ACOTAR but I have yet to read or see ANYTHING of it. So she challenged me to make this reddit post. I will do my best to answer every question I can as best as I can. The only thing I know is that the main character is named Feyre and there is a character called Rhysand and he has a massive thing and has bat wings or something? Let's see how I do. submitted by /u/LoddZee to r/acotar [link] [comments]

Was anyone else massively disappointed with A Court of Thorns and Roses?
It’s the last time I’m taking a book suggestion from TikTok. People made it seem like it was a beautifully written sexy masterpiece. It wasn’t nearly as smutty as TikTok made it seem and I found Sarah J Maas’s writing to be cliche and juvenile. Everyone says the first book was the least interesting and to keep reading the rest of the series, but my disappointment wasn’t about not keeping my interest. SJM used the same descriptive metaphors and phrases over and over and over again it was so exhausting to read. By the end of it I was physically rolling my eyes each time I read “I could never paint it” or “cords of muscle” or “buttery yellow” or “jade colored eyes”. The “I could/would never paint it” was especially annoying. The whole painter/artist thing she had going for Feyre was so forced. It was obvious that SJM knows nothing about painting and just thinks it sounds romantic and cool. I’m a painter myself and it was just so cringy. Like come on, Feyre has a dying Faerie screaming in agony in front of her and she’s thinking about painting? It’s like if someone wrote a book about a football player with no knowledge about football. And when someone dies in front of the main character they start thinking about football. That’s how ridiculous it was to me. And come on, the answer to the riddle is LOVE? Jesus Christ. I could keep going on about all the things that made ACOTAR so bad, but I’ll stop now before I write a whole book about it. I don’t know why I finished this book. submitted by /u/pnutbutterfuck to r/books [link] [comments]

How much sex is in the Court of Thorns and Roses series?
I keep hearing mix answers about this, once I heard that there are only a couple, and another review called it "50 Shades of Wings" implying it was a fantasy version of"50 Shade of Grey. I don't mind sex scenes in books, but I don't want to read an erotic novel submitted by /u/Iamangryjak to r/acotar [link] [comments]

Again shocking myself with the amount of patience I have to create this cover page. It’s based after the book series A Court of Thorns and Roses and I can’t wait to share more pages, but if you want to see the whole setup I’ll leave the video in the comments...just in case ;)

To: Whoever suggested to read „A Court of Thorns and Roses“. [rant]
(Quick rant, let’s discuss in comments, please. No hate.) Was this supposed to be some kind of time-consuming joke? It‘s 8 am and I haven‘t slept since I finished the book at 3 am, so, have mercy with my language and grammar. I‘m not a native english-speaker but I managed to read many english books without a problem until I encountered ACOTAR. I had to google way too many words because the author tried to sound as smart and eloquent as possible while finishing too many sentences with „,then.“ On the narrative voice, the quotes of the lead character Feyre and also the main supportive character Tamlin. „Oh, quote quote qoute, then.“ I could not distinguish between them if I had to by quotes. The story developed way too slow. Not the romantic sub-plot though, which developed too fast. (She was already horny a few pages after arriving at court.) I wanted to quit on this book many times during the first half. But mama ain‘t raised no quitter and now I want my hours back. I was confused for a very long time. Somewhere past the middle of the book, the lead character get‘s info-dumped by a maid on whats ACTUALLY going on there because „We literally couldn‘t tell you.“ That‘s where I started giggling. I remember smiling and shaking my head „oh nonono.“ Turns out it‘s like Beauty and the Beast. But Gaston is a queen and wants Beast for herself. You could‘ve turned this into something great, lady. But no, the lead character has to prove her undying love to this queen. Of course she gets help whenever she needs it. Good for you Feyre. I started cheering for gaston queen. After Feyre endured all this physical and mental pain and abuse, everything goes „well“ in terms of the villain queen getting terminated by the most powerful and beautiful man of them all. Of course everyone who is relevant enough is still present, they combine their powers to kind of „resurrect“ and transform Feyre into a Faerie. (Didn’t remind me of twilight at all /s.) And now there is only one thing left on Feyres mind. To do the thing, she wanted to do throughout the whole book. Finally sleeping with Tamlin. After getting her whole world overthrown, nearly getting raped, seeing a woman tortured and killed, simply because she said her name, killing two innocent faerie-beings herself of whom the first begged her not to (putting stress on her mind is my point here) and also stabbing her biggest love in the heart out of hope that „it might work if I was smart enough“ STILL the FIRST thing on her mind is to sleep with this High Lord because „I‘ve been waiting for this.“ Later returning to his court and calling it „home“. Aren‘t you supposed to have some kind of PTSD? Shock? Break down? No, you‘re a Faerie now, everything is fine and well. And who on earth would‘ve pronounced Fayre as Fae-ruh while everyone else‘s name is pronounced like an english-speaking person would pronounce it. Isn‘t it supposed to be Fae-ri, then? I suppose I should finish my own book, then. And publishing it, then, since I consider this book a joke. Enough of this rant. Don‘t take this personally whoever reads this mess. But let‘s discuss it. If you‘re a fan, please enlighten me. I would really appreciate it. submitted by /u/blakethunderport to r/books [link] [comments]
