Air fryer slop I've been eating for the last few weeks
Very late to the air fryer life, but it's been a game changer for me in terms of making meals so much more simple to make. Most recipes for me involve air frying a protein (usually steak, chicken, or occasionally ground beef) while vegetables and carbs sit below the tray to soak up the drippings. Takes around 5 minutes of prep time since most of my carb and veg sources come frozen or pre-chopped. Set it to 30 mins at 200 celsius and you have a quick and easy meal without too much of your time wasted on cooking submitted by /u/asura0205 to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

What’s your go-to “lazy” air fryer meal that never disappoints?
Some days I just don’t have the energy to cook anything complicated, and the air fryer feels like a lifesaver. Looking for super easy, minimal-effort meals/snacks that still turn out really good. Bonus if it’s something I can make with basic ingredients already at home. What’s your go to lazy air fryer recipe? submitted by /u/Critical-Stand-6986 to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

can we talk about the stuff no one tells you about air fryers?
- food keeps cooking for a minute after you pull it out (residual heat is real) - patting food dry actually changes how crispy it gets - a tiny bit of oil spray works better than pouring oil - sugar-heavy marinades burn faster than you expect - thinner cuts don’t just cook faster. they dry faster i thought it was just “set temp, walk away.” turns out there’s a little technique involved. what’s something you figured out after using yours for a while? submitted by /u/Fritaire to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

Quickest Air Fryer Potato Wedges (No Boil, No Soak, No Wait!)
I make these potato wedges quite frequently and this is a no-fail recipe. It is quick as it does not require peeling or boiling of the potatoes, and you can enjoy them immediately! Ingredients: Potatoes – 2 large (or 3 medium), cut into wedges Oil – 1 tbsp Salt – to taste Black Pepper Powder – ½ tsp Oregano – ½ - 1 tsp Chilli flakes – ½ tsp (or to taste) Peri-peri powder – 1–2 tsp Method: Wash and peel (optional, I didn't) the potatoes. Cut into medium wedges. In a bowl, add the wedges, oil, salt, oregano, chilli flakes and peri-peri powder. Toss well so every piece is coated. Preheat the air fryer at 180°C for 3–5 minutes. Arrange wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 180°C for 10–13 minutes. Shake or flip halfway. Increase time by 3 more minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy (Flash Fry). Serve hot with ketchup, mayo or any other dip. Some Tips for Even Better Fries Don’t overcrowd the basket, only one single layer, no overlapping fries. Shake the basket once in between. Slightly thicker wedges = soft inside, thin wedges = extra crispy. Do let me know how they turned out if you make them. Enjoy :) submitted by /u/Due_Upstairs9904 to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

Garlic Bread in Air Fryer
Dad just bought an Air Fryer yesterday and I tried making this garlic bread in it today!! SO DELICIOUS!! Edit: I'm sorry, I didn't realize I should have shared the recipe as well. ~~Recipe~~ Ingredients: 3-4 garlic flowers (entire unpeeled flower) Loaf bread (or any slice of bread if not available) Mozzarella cheese (you can use any cheese but it tastes best with the Moz cheese) 3-4 tablespoons of butter A pinch of salt 3-4 teaspoons of olive oil (use regular oil if not available) Oregano, Chili Flakes and preferred herbs Parsley (optional - I didn't use) A sheet of silver foil Baking parchment (can be skipped but better used to avoid the mess) (These ingredients are not written somewhere, its the quantity I used, you can add or remove some ingredients if you wish) Cooking Time: 30-45 mins Cooking: Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer ("AF") at 200° for about 4-5 minutes Step 2: Cut the unpeeled garlic flowers into half and place them in a silver foil. Add 1-2 teaspoon of olive oil on the garlic flowers and a pinch of salt. Make the silver foil into a ball to cover the garlic entirely and cook in the AF at 200° for 10-15 mins. You can cook it for up to 25-30 minutes if you want your garlic to be mashed. Step 3: Pull out the garlic from the foil, peel the cloves (this can be messy) and in a mixing bowl. Add 2-3 teaspoons of olive oil, 3-4 tablespoons of butter, and a pinch of salt if necessary. If you have parsley, finely chop them and add it to the mixture at this step. Mix everything nicely. Step 4: Cut the loaf bread to desired sizes and spread the garlic-oil-butter spread on each bread on one side only. Line the AF bucket with the baking parchment and place the bread slices in the AF. Cook at 200° for 4-5 minutes. Step 5: Pull out the bread from the AF and put some grated/cubed/sliced cheese on the bread. Sprinkle some oregano, chili flakes, or desired masalas/herbs. Again cook at 200° for 4-5 minutes. Trust me this will make your cheese crusty and golden from the top. Your garlic bread is ready for consumption!! Please don't hesitate to share the pictures if this recipe works out for you!! submitted by /u/sickpsychopathicfuck to r/Aajmainekhaya [link] [comments]

As requested - EASY AIR FRYER RECIPES
This is going to be long af, so bear with me. So these are not spectacular recipes. They are simple and open to any variations and personal creativity. Of course I do NOT work for any AF brand (although ffs I should!), but I always want to help people who are unsure of themselves, be able to eat healthily and quickly. There aren’t any meat ones beyond chicken and fish, because I don’t cook beef in mine. I have my limits lol. I’ve done many other meals in mine, but 99% of the time I’m totally winging it, so they’re not written down as of yet. AIR FRYER RECIPES Notes: - Always pull the air fryer a few inches away from the wall before using to avoid heat damage. - To contain juices (and generally avoid having to clean the drawers much), you can buy paper liners that are specific to your model, silicone liners, or make a sided ‘boat’ out of foil. These are all optional - It’s worth getting the fitted grates like in the bottom left of my pic. It holds down smaller items or the edges of paper liners so they don’t fly up and burn. It also helps if you want to jam as much food in there as possible without it touching - My recipes are based on my Ninja Foodi Flex (dual), and average sized meat/food items I get in Ontario, Canada. So everything varies. - I originally wrote this for family in Scotland, so I have both °F and °C noted. I use °F at home. Photo clockwise from top left: - pierogi (homemade) - Chicken thigh - Roasted tomato & veg pearl cous cous salad - Roasted cherry tomatoes - Capocollo wrapped trout - Roasted garlic placement diagram RECIPES CHICKEN THIGHS/DRUMS 380 F / 195 C Season as desired (I only use S&P) 12 min skin side down 10 min skin side up - If using a liner, no oil is needed unless you want to crisp up the skin. In that case, lightly oil chicken. If placing directly on the metal tray, either oil chicken or tray first. SALMON/TROUT PORTIONS 400 F / 200 C Season as desired Approximately 9 mins - as with the chicken, no oil needed unless placing directly on metal tray so the skin doesn’t stick ROASTED CHERRY TOMATOES Foil tray* Cherry tomatoes Olive oil Salt & pepper Optional - garlic, fresh thyme, rosemary etc 400 F / 200 C on air fry setting *make a sided ‘boat’ out of foil so it contains any juices from the tomato - Appx 12 mins or until reached desired doneness - To prevent the skins exploding, you can pierce them with a knife before roasting. - Can be for dressings, warm salads, side dish, fresh tomato pasta sauces - I roast Kalamata olives, chopped bell peppers & the white parts of scallions the exact same way. Threw them with some canned beans, other veg & pearl cous cous to make a warm grain salad. Can also be eaten cold. FROZEN PIEROGI 400 F / 200 C Appx 8-10 mins or until crispy and golden to your liking. - Coat with a tiny bit of oil first. Flip halfway. - Can also be done with fresh pierogi and even tortellini/ravioli. Some may burst. CARROTS - Peel & cut into uniform sizes. Or if they’re small, leave whole - toss with some maple syrup or honey and mustard. Appx 15 mins at 375 F / 190 C *timing varies depending on the size of carrots. Check and shake around on occasion. Definitely use some kind of liner for this as it would be very sticky & difficult to clean CRISPY DICED POTATOES - Dice potatoes about 1” - Par-boil diced potatoes for 3 mins at a rolling boil - dry and toss with oil, salt & pepper, and any other seasoning you like (awesome with Lawrys seasoning salt) - Air fry 400 F / 200 C appx 15-20 mins, shaking/tossing occasionally ROASTED GARLIC one whole head garlic, or as many cloves as you need, with paper skin still on - chop the top off the cloves/head so only a tiny bit is exposed through the skin - Place on square of foil. - Drizzle a little bit of olive oil. Add salt if desired (totally optional) - Wrap tightly with the foil into a small packet - Air fry 400 F / 200 C for appx 12 mins (longer if it’s a whole head). - Garlic is done when you can easily squeeze the softened garlic out of the paper skin *the small foil packet may fly around inside the fryer as it cooks. I use a rack to help hold it down. Another option is to tuck some of the foil underneath the air fryer’s grate to stabilize it. SEE PHOTO OTHER NOTES You can really take any veg that tastes good roasted (all of them!), chop them to equal-ish sizes, lightly oil, season, and toss them in there. 400 F / 200 C for anywhere from 5-15 mins depending on the veg and your preferred doneness. The best part of the air fryer is that you can pause it, open it to take a look, and continue if necessary. No need to worry about messing it up as it doesn’t cool down like a large oven does. BBC has some simple recipes too. I haven’t tried them, but their salmon & Chicken thigh method looks nearly identical to mine, so they’re probably pretty good 😉 https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/search?q=Easy+air+fryer+ submitted by /u/puzzlebutter to r/adhdwomen [link] [comments]

It never browns or crisps up. Every video you've ever seen for crispy chicken is a fucking lie. It's all faked for internet points. Why do I even bother wasting my time and effort? It always results in mediocre breaded chicken. I wish people would call out how impossible the results are. submitted by /u/_Bucket_Of_Truth_ to r/rant [link] [comments]

What's your Favorite/Go-to air-fryer recipe?
I just got an air fryer and I'm stoked about it. I'm looking for good recipes to put in rotation. I have been searching recipes online but I'm getting a lot of "tOp TeN aIr fRyEr ReciPes" that's like "coat asparagus in salt, pepper and oil and cook it." Okay. I could have figured that out on my own. What's a GOOD recipe? I'm also searching the subs' history but I'm still getting "put carrots in it!" "put an apple in it!" I mean, single-ingredient is OK if it's unexpected (someone said make butternut squash fries?) or a snack (tortilla chips, apple chips) but if I read one more "put brussel sprouts in it" I'm going to scream lol For example, I'll be following directions to make air fryer chicken parm tomorrow night. submitted by /u/RiotHyena to r/EatCheapAndHealthy [link] [comments]

You don't *have to* have a crock pot, air fryer, instapot and all those
They're convenient, but not mandatory. I see a lot of people in this sub acting like you basically have to have a crock pot to cook chili con carne and things like that. Just recently someone was being downvoted when they were told to get a $15 rice cooker, and they said that they couldn't afford it right now, while implying that they were interested in learning to cook good rice normally. In a different thread, someone was talking about how they could barely afford to eat and wanted recommendations of cheapest things possible (basically only being able to afford rice and beans) and several people told them to get an instapot or crock pot to cook chili con carne or other convenience gadgets. It may not sound like a lot of money to you, but for someone that can barely afford to eat, it does not make sense to spend money on gadgets that only add some convenience or maybe slightly better results depending on which appliances they have already. You don't need a crock pot to slow cook. It makes it a bit more convenient and if you like yours that's great! I understand why. But it's also very normal to slow cook with a regular pot and stove. Rice cookers are great if you cook a lot of rice, especially if you have a non-induction electric stove, but it's also ok to want to learn to cook good rice with a regular pot instead. Air fryers are great at making crispy food, and especially make sense if you don't have a convection oven. But at the end of the day, they're small efficient convection ovens, and any recipe made for air fryers can be made in a regular convection oven if you have that instead, so you don't have to get one just to make those recipes. If you do feel like you could benefit from one, that's great, I'm sure you'll love it. Yes, these gadgets are all convenient. But you can still cook great food without much more effort with a regular pot and stove or oven. We have to be able to accept that not everyone wants a bunch of gadgets, and not everyone is willing to spend money on them, even if they can be found for cheap where you live (quite difficult to find cheap ones where I live even). That shouldn't be controversial, and we shouldn't be telling people that they need to have them to cook good food, or that it's difficult to cook good food without them. I'm not saying no one should ever recommend these gadgets. I just think people should accept that not everyone wants them and not everyone feels like they're in a place financially where it makes sense to get them. Maybe it's just be being anti-consumerist and minimalist but I don't know, I think people take it a bit too far on here sometimes. submitted by /u/PaddiM8 to r/Frugal [link] [comments]

What is the absolute best thing you have ever made in your air fryer?
I was once a doubter but now I am a believer! I'm very late to the air fryer party but I am here now! I love warming up leftovers without a microwave and love the fact that I can cook things without frying them in oils. I think I'm ready for the next level... What is the best main dish/recipe you have made in your air fryer? submitted by /u/Daylyght20 to r/airfryer [link] [comments]

I've perfected my air fryer wings recipe
Here's how I did it. 2.5lbs wings 15g kosher salt 15g baking powder Place ingredients in a gallon bag, seal it up, and give it a good mix/shake to combine. Place wings on a wire rack with baking tray underneath. Place in fridge for at least 6 hours (preferably overnight) When you're ready to make them, take them out of the fridge and pat dry any excess moisture (there shouldn't be a ton but this step is absolutely crucial for that sweet crisp). Place wings in a preheated air fryer at 400°F for at least 30 minutes (shaking the basket halfway through). If you want even more crisp, I'd tack on another 5-10 minutes or so but 30 was plenty for me. Toss in a bowl with your favorite sauce and enjoy! And for kicks, here's my sauce recipe: Crystal hot sauce A few dashes of Scorpion Disco pepper sauce 4tbsp butter 6 cloves microplaned garlic Shredded parm Lemon juice Dried dill Lemon pepper (a lot) Ranch seasoning I don't really believe in measurements for seasonings, I just freestyle because it's more fun that way :) Overall is this the same product you'll get from a deep fryer? No... but it's sure just as crispy and way healthier for you. Hope this helps! submitted by /u/Jackson0125 to r/Wings [link] [comments]

Too many appliances/gadgets. I’m drawing the line at the air fryer.
I just realized my kitchen is more full of appliances and gadgets than food. I have a large kitchen aid food processor & parts, large kitchen aid mixer & parts, ninja blender & parts, small food processor, smaller food processor, spiralizer, hand blender, soda stream, old crockpot, small crockpot, ninja crockpot, instapot, ice cream maker, muli food mill, hand grater, manual slicer, rice cooker, george forman griddle, waffle maker, electric knife, toaster oven, convection/toaster oven (this thing is huge!), and electric griddle. That is not even the pots and pans. Now everyone is talking about air fryers… I’m just done and not falling for it. Glad everyone loves them but I have a lifetime of recipes that just need a regular stove. I will still die happy without an air fryer. EDIT: after reading a bunch of the replies I realized you all are the reason I have so many gadgets. I come from a long line of thrifters. So my family is buying what you are discarding. And I’m inheriting their stuff. I didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until I started to pull it out of all the hiding places in my kitchen. I know its the circle of life but I need to get off this wheel and set these things free again. But yes I’ll take my sisters air fryer and give it a try. submitted by /u/4travelers to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

Holy crap GET AN AIR FRYER.
I know people have hyped these up but honestly I feel like they're not hyping them up enough. I just got an air fryer set up and I had no idea it cooked things so quickly?! Also frozen french fries straight up taste like they just came out of a deep fryer. And it's so much easier to just cook up one portion instead of a huge batch. I even cooked a hot dog and hamburger patty in there and it was amazing?! This thing is witchcraft, everyone go get one!
