I used everything I packed! 2 months in Europe winter, 1.5 bags each
I’m pretty happy with how I packed for my 2 month family trip through Europe. For a lot of the trip it was me, my partner and my Dad travelling together. We encountered every type of weather, from -13C to 20C. Lots of rain, sleet, snow, wind, sun. We travelled from the beginning of November to the beginning of January. We visited London and the surrounding countryside, Scotland, Berlin and Greece (Athens + some mountain road trips). On the way back to Canada we spent a night in Warsaw, Poland. It was challenging to pack lightly, while preparing for all sorts of winter weather and different environments. We needed to be mobile because of all the different places we would be staying, plus getting on and off of planes, trains and public transportation. My partner and I decided to go with carry-on sized rolling suitcases plus a small backpack each. My dad packed even lighter, only bringing two large laptop bags. (Dad ended up saying he would have preferred to have one rolling suitcase instead of the 2 laptop bags). My partner was able to help my Dad with one of his bags a lot of the time. One thing that was super helpful (if a bit extra) was to photograph every item I was planning to bring, and put it in a big document to see it all at once. I ended up eliminating a few items that way, by playing “paper dolls” and putting together outfits, to make sure everything would fit together in a little ‘capsule wardrobe’. I usually wear a ton of colour and love variety in my wardrobe, but I decided to use mostly black clothing as a base and spice it up with small colourful scarves and jewellery. We brought enough clothing to last around a week, and did laundry whenever we needed. Bags: It was time to retire my heavy old roller suitcase that my grandma had used in the 1980’s. My partner and I bought new (matching) roller bags from the Canadian company Herschel. They had a sale at the time and we got them for 40% off. I really like the design of these bags, they’re half-soft shelled and have “all-terrain” wheels that actually worked great on snowy and icy roads and uneven sidewalks. The wheels are pretty big without adding much to the dimensions of the bag. In my everyday life I carry the Fjallraven Totepack No. 1, because I like its size and versatility. For the trip I sewed on a strap of webbing to the back of it so I could attach it to the handles of my roller suitcase. I’m so glad I did this, it worked great! I bought the Uniqlo round mini shoulder bag too, and kept it in my backpack while travelling on the plane. This bag was perfect for days out when all I wanted to bring was a small purse with essentials. Another gamechanger was this pocketable duffle from Muji- we pulled it out for laundry days or groceries, and it added versatility to our packing because it could fit my backpack inside, plus a bunch of extra stuff. That was great for non-airline trips where I couldn’t be bothered to pack everything tightly / had extra snacks or something. Coffee: I’m a coffee nerd, it’s one of my greatest pleasures in life. We decided to bring our coffee setup with the aeropress and hand grinder, travel scale, plus a bag of beans. For many people this will probably be too much weight and extra volume, but for us it saved money and time, while adding so much comfort. Toiletries: I found that the 100ml travel containers are too big even for this super long trip, so I opted for an assortment of little ones from Muji. This was enough for most of my liquids, and allowed me to bring all the toiletries I’d usually use at home. If anything I brought too much shampoo- I have short curly hair and only wash it once every few days. Under layers: I have these sweat-absorbing undershirts that I’ve been wearing under everything for a few years now. They helped me get a lot more uses between washes for my t-shirts and kept my sweaters from getting smelly. I brought 5 of them, and wore one per day. To be honest I should have brought 6, as it ended up being a limiting factor for laundry. I also brought 2 pairs of Icebreaker merino leggings, which I wore under my pants most days. On extra cold days I layered both pairs of merino leggings under my pants, plus my knitted leg warmers at the ankles. Boots: I was SO happy with the one pair of footwear I brought! I got the “Sorel Revel Rd Women's Waterproof Lace Boot”, which was a new style this season. They are good quality, waterproof in all the puddles and snow, can easily be wiped off to clean. The height of the platform is tall enough to keep you above most puddles, but not so tall that they are cumbersome. My orthotic insoles fit inside of them comfortably, and I could wear double socks for the cold with no problem. The leather broke in super nicely and they only got comfier in time. They got me through muddy day hikes in Scotland, partying in Berlin and flash flooding on the streets of Athens. I also felt I could ‘dress up’ and go to nicer places in these boots without feeling out of place. Outerwear: The biggest & most cumbersome item I brought was my big sheepskin bomber jacket. It definitely didn’t fit in my bags, so I had to wear it whenever we were changing locations. This was not much of an issue, except when we first arrived in London to unseasonably warm weather, and I had to tough it out in the hot underground. However, the rest of the trip - Even Greece - was the perfect conditions for this jacket. The natural sheepskin regulates temperature well, and the airy cut of the jacket meant I could layer underneath it on cold days and leave it open if I got too warm. I brought a down puffer vest as another option, which I used a few times but not as often as I thought I would. I probably could have gone without it. It did pack down into its own zipper pocket though, so it didn’t take up too much space or weight. For rainy days, I brought a Patagonia rain shell that packs pretty small, as well as these OR ultralight rain pants. Clothing: 2 lightweight wool sweaters that could be layered together for extra warmth. 2 short sleeved t-shirts & one long sleeve t-shirt 1 fitted tank top 2 pairs of pants - 1 cargo style lighter weight cotton, 1 pair of wide leg jeans (I travelled in these since they were bulkier) 2 silk shirts - these folded down to nothing, and were so nice to have on days I wanted to dress “nice”. Sleepwear: One pair of sweatpants, 2 t-shirts, sleeping bonnet & eye mask, sheepskin slippers. The slippers took a bit of space, but I used them every day wherever we stayed. Floors can be cold in the winter! I’m sure there are more lightweight options for travel slippers, but these are the ones I use at home and I didn’t feel the need to buy new ones just for the trip. Underwear and socks: I brought 14 pairs of underwear because I like to change them twice a day. Around 10 pairs of socks, enough for layering on cold days. I did bring a bra, then never wore it because I forgot I don’t wear a bra unless I’m at work. Stuff: Water bottles - we bought these soft plastic Vapur water bottles and they were perfect! Took up next to no space, and came with a carabiner to clip to the outside of the backpack Mini first aid kit - some bandaids, alcohol wipes, painkillers Safety pins - useful for helping others install their SIM cards, temporary clothing fixes, even keeping my pants up one time when the button came off Travel pillows - these memory foam ones that come with a bag and a carabiner. I used mine a ton as an extra pillow in the places we stayed. Makeup kit - super minimalist. Eyebrow stuff, mascara, concealer, some neutral eyeshadows, one lipstick Mini lint roller Air tags for luggage 2 pairs of sunglasses & a pair of reading glasses Things I acquired on the trip (not pictured): I ended up buying a blazer at a vintage store in Berlin. Tiny things like magnets, art cards, silk scarves and sample sized perfumes. I ran out of the moisturizer I’d packed one month into the trip, so I bought a new one to replace it. I needed to repair something so I bought a small sewing kit. We did the Christmas season with my partner’s family in Greece, and I received 2 knit scarves + some earrings which I packed. At the very end of the trip in Greece, I ended up having room in my suitcase for 2 small ceramic containers. -- Now that I’m back home and all is said and done, I’m super happy with how I packed and how it was personalized to the way I wanted to travel. I know there are plenty of ways I could have reduced the amount of stuff I brought, without being physically uncomfortable. I could have not brought wide leg jeans, but I love wide leg jeans. I could have been warm enough with my layered sweaters + rain shell + down vest, but I really loved wearing my sheepskin bomber jacket. I didn’t have to bring a bag of jewellery or 2 pairs of sunglasses, but I loved having them with me. Layering was key to versatility, and 1 week between loads of laundry is fine. Photo descriptions (edited to add links): My partner and my dad at the train station in Berlin with all our bags for the 3 of us. There are 2 carry on sized rolling cases, 2 backpacks and 2 large laptop bags. What I wore on the plane: black sheepskin bomber jacket, dark grey wide leg jeans, merino tights, black t-shirt, undershirt, black boots, black hat, black plaid scarf and brown zip-up fleece. In my personal item backpack: small dark blue Muji Polyester Two Zipper Case (first aid kit), black mini purse (custom made except the ruler wrist handle) with cash, credit card and passport, Muji Wrinkled Nylon Wide-Opening Pouch (mini toiletries kit), floral pouch for knitting project, airpods and charging cords, blue mini first aid kit, pocketable duffel bag, blue soft-plastic water bottle, packed travel pillow in black bag, dark purple crescent crossbody bag. Outerwear: 2 lightweight wool sweaters (1 navy, 1 rust coloured printed with black ram heads), a black packable black down vest, dark blue rain jacket, packable black rain pants Tops & Pants: Black cotton cargo pants, long sleeve tee, short sleeve crop tee, black tank top, floral silk shirts x2 PJs and Loungewear: White sweatpants, grey graphic tshirt, white graphic tshirt (Jaws graphic), blue sleeping bonnet, green eye mask, white slippers Base Layers: black and grey merino tights, 5x black fitted undershirts Accessories and Jewellery: 2 pairs of sunglasses (1 black, 1 cream & black), 1 pair of gold rimmed glasses, 1 pair of blue-grey gloves, 2 small scarves (1 dark blue silk, 1 black cotton with green graphic) and a brass scarf ring, 1 grey hat, 1 pair dark purple legwarmers, 6 pairs of earrings shaped like aliens, cats, wobbly shapes, red studs, 2 necklaces (1 bolo tie style and 1 large beaded), several gold-coloured rings, 1 small purple beaded bracelet submitted by /u/hellamoist to r/HerOneBag [link] [comments]

Outfit Fixes: Episode 26
Thank you all for being so patient since my last outfit post! I am finally happily adjusted to my new teaching job, and I am loving it! Another Sinner politely asked me to do some of the more recent looks our Saint has worn, and I was happy to do so. The only problem is that she keeps bombarding us with mediocre or allegedly stolen dresses. Here is the most recent outfits that she wore at the time of me assembling all of the looks. I will go through the looks from the most simple of edits vs the more complicated/fun ones to do. Some outfits were pretty okay, and so minimal edits- ironing, color, fit, etc. are done. I still want to do the more simple edits as it can help show others how minor fixes can help make an outfit look all the better. Also no AI was used (never in any of my other posts either)- all of it is drawn/edited by me. When I draw her skin, I either color drop from the photo or cut out from already existing images that show off, say her arms or shoulders. Big Bird Outfit https://preview.redd.it/afxd42kv0i6g1.jpg?width=1300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8019eed04dca3ebc2c42450f7540e0b1aca80824 Before: Both of the clothing items that she wore were big and baggy, dwarfing her and losing her inside it. The return of the pushed up sleeves- I live in a place that gets quite cold, but I work in a room that is quite warm. I layer and then push up my sleeves. But I am not living in Cali and pushing up my sleeves for everything including various types of jackets. She is wearing open toed sandals for goodness sakes! For someone who is always talking about finding herself and her truth, she seems to like to loose herself in baggy clothing. After: I closed her sandals. Enough said. I gave her a v-neckline which helps with her shorter neck. I changed the color to something slightly lighter, fit it to her torso, and cut the sleeves off at the elbow so she can't push them up. Now her flowy skirt has no competition and can be the centerpiece of her outfit. I also removed some of the excessive shine on her face and pinkened her lips a bit more. NYC Pap Walk Ponytail https://preview.redd.it/6saf06u62i6g1.jpg?width=5342&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b531d4cf274a16482c5a5039e261cfdc69aa9903 Before: I near to the NYC region, and it was relatively cold, I believe. Why is she wearing what looks like a fuzzy sweater and pants that cut off above her ankle, aka capri pants? Her ponytail looks odd, and definitely shows that she wears extensions. The cuffs of her shirt are far past her coat and her coat is wide open, giving her a bad figure. Also her hairline- enough said. After: I put her in more autumnal colors, brightening her complexion. A coat that is fully closed and covers her outfit would allow her to wear whatever length pants she wanted without fear of being cold. I gave her bangs to fix the hairline and gave more movement to her ponytail. Dinner at Kappo Masa, wearing two items that Catherine has worn before https://preview.redd.it/21beu33l3i6g1.jpg?width=3610&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4676908be0cc345ffe5f883820997781c4a66169 Before: The jacket and the purse are both items that the now Princess of Wales has worn- copying much? I feel like it is just too long on her and her pants are so baggy. Her self tanner is so heavy on the chest and face- she forgot her hands and feet. For someone who gardens with her bare hands so much, you'd think they would have a more even tan, especially since our Saint loves her sun hats. Her waistband is up so high as well, which cuts into her torso. After: Brought down her pants waistline and slimmed down the legs to be almost a pixie flare. I changed the color of course, and gave her a v-neck, to yet again to help with her neck. I cut some of the length of her jacket as well. I gave her bangs and then evened out her skintone to match her hand- note the swatches I took from each part of her exposed body. I stopped the wild amount of blush/bronzer on the apples of her cheeks and edited her eyebrows and eyeshadow to be much more flattering. Again, I also edited her lip color so she doesn't look sick or washed out. Godmothers, Courtney Adamo https://preview.redd.it/bpu2eh186i6g1.jpg?width=3100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0adb473be1e9731e1517fb7105b312ff581633c1 Before: The hair being in the tight bun really makes her look so much other, especially when there is no volume around her neck to make up for it. Her makeup doesn't complement her eyes nor her face. The waistline of the outfit is way too high for her short torso and the whole thing is so baggy. After: I gave her a half up hairdo with purposeful bangs that are better for this outfit. Again, a v-neck shirt, but with the peplum bottom, especially with the asymmetry, it helps to give her a more hourglass figure. I gave her elbow-length sleeves as they are so complementary to her and changed her pants to a straight-leg trouser. I also closed her sandals up, but kept some of the straps. The Godmother's store logo is done in blue, so I put her in blue. I also changed her makeup to better complement her face. Emma Grede https://preview.redd.it/btgfuab77i6g1.jpg?width=858&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dfe437d154c8d351196293f4fd386e4383c11fa1 Before: This was pretty perfect! But I didn't like her middle part for this, her makeup could be better, and she insists on pushing up her suit jacket's sleeves. But at least her pants were nicely tailored! Also, she insists on wearing some sort of neutrals, even now. After: Repositioned her blush to be at the top of her cheek by her temples to help 'snatch' her face, fixed her eyeshadow/eyeliner to bring up her eyes instead of turning the outer edge down. I also added eyeliner to the inner corner for a fox eye look and brought some to the bottom lash line as well, but not all the way to the inner corner as that would close her eyes too much. Highlight high on her cheekbone and under her eyebrow on her brow bone. Lipstick helps to pull it all together. I gave her a side part and some bangs. I tailored her suit jacket so that it has cropped sleeves, so that way she can't keep pushing them up. And obviously, the navy has been changed to a nice, deep red. NYC Visit with Steinem https://preview.redd.it/2f694vje8i6g1.jpg?width=3845&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2d9ca427587926d0ac95219d8437d61f3551bc7 Before: Baggy jacket belted with a belt that doesn't come with said jacket, overly baggy pants, hair a mess. After: I gave her a long tweed-like skirt suit outfit that would look professional and be warm. I gave her a high, playful, bouncy ponytail with bangs, to make her more put-together. I found some nice heeled boots that are cuter than her old-looking loafers. The peplum on the jacket will also help with creating an hourglass figure. Fourth of July https://preview.redd.it/bh0xmy6p9i6g1.jpg?width=1720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92004c08ae9e34610582507b11466d27d214b8d9 Before: This outfit once again proves that she stuffs her bra. The top looks like it is going to expose her if she moves wrong. The strap emphasizes her shoulders, broadening her shoulders and at the same time making her head look huge and her torso weirdly small. After: I wanted to let her keep showing her skin if she wanted, since she isn't on royal business, and the event doesn't require professionalism. I added the mid-length sleeves that flatter her and gave her an off-the-shoulder moment that has an interesting shape, so that it isn't just straight across. I also allowed her to have the back dip and show skin, being a little flirty since the fourth of July is so special to them. Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit https://preview.redd.it/uh8n81zp9i6g1.jpg?width=5839&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7471fee6aebcf9b9fc3043238ba9a5901dbfa63 Before: The side of her skirt is puffed at the seam, meaning that it isn't the right size. The top has excessive cut-outs at the sleeves and they just make it look like the shirt is too big, especially since the buttons down the front let you look inside it. The center part really emphasizes her forehead in an unflattering way. Her shoes, which she wore to Archie's christening, are kinda cute, but are too big and too beige. After: I gave her bangs to be able to fix her middle part-forehead situation. I killed some of the billow of her sleeves and the extra slits to help control the blouse's volume. I smoothed out the skirt so it looks like it actually fits her. I closed up her shirt as well. I changed the toe of her shoes as well before changing everything to this tonal orange look. I gave her matching lipstick and blush and fixed her eyeshadow and eyebrows as well. Zajfen Tennis Tournament https://preview.redd.it/k5ckeieq9i6g1.jpg?width=3113&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce19d065a4f8b9be9e70903cb6ef071c9d5ff250 Before: Let's start with not mentioning the sandals. The halter neck expands her shoulders, which almost shrinks her hips- the hips only showing more due to the volume of the skirt. The belt is too big and messy, cutting off her already too-short torso, doing her no favors. After: I covered the sandals and added more straps to almost evoke a ballerina-like feel. Again, I added sleeves and gave her a sweetheart neckline for interest. The waist and the extra detail lines to help give her a more hourglass shape. The dress is also more flowy and has more volume to also help with the hourglass. I evened out her skin tone, removing the yellowing of her bronzer. I placed blush at the tops of her cheekbones by her temples to help cut some of the roundness. I winged out her eyeshadow and liner to help shape her eyes better, bringing some shadow to the bottom lash line. I sculpted her eyebrows better and gave her lipstick. Gypsy on Broadway https://preview.redd.it/uo912mrq9i6g1.jpg?width=1239&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4219f0deae24f6c0eebf6597dcdbf980f8e03b8d Before: The pencil skirt is weirdly long- just yuck. The button down is open so far- if she pulled it down from where it was riding up, her sternum would be exposed. She's trying to dress high end but then her hair does nothing to elevate the outfit, especially since she is wearing $308,150 worth of jewelry. Her bronzer does not match her arm either. Princess Diana's gold Cartier Tank Française Watch ($23,000), Cartier 'Love' Bracelet in Yellow Gold from Trevor ($6300), Diana's Tennis Bracelet ($150,000), Cartier 'Galanterie' Diamond Stud Earrings in White Gold ($7,850), Custom Logan Hollowell 18k Fortuna Tennis Necklace with Diamonds ($59,000), Lorraine Schwartz Emerald-Cut Diamond Ring ($62,000). After: Since she likes Carolina Herrera, I gave her a formal dress from the designer. I gave her bangs to stop with the center part. The dress isn't as long as the original skirt, which shows that it is actually hemmed. The fabric asymmetrically twisting at the top, helps to break up the broadness of her shoulders while still allowing her an off-the-shoulder moment, since she loves it so much. Makeup is also fixed, and I removed all of her other jewelry besides the diamonds to help prevent the messiness of her original jewelry styling. Seat at the Table https://preview.redd.it/5qae1p1r9i6g1.jpg?width=5544&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fee8aab0047f06cb6f753f0fdb0598003980a3e Before: What the actual fuck are either of these outfits? Meghan's outfit is a Time 100 part 2: electric boogaloo situation. And WTF is Emma even wearing? Meghan's suit pants are too big, but at least they are hemmed. The suit jacket is way too fucking long, and the bunching of the sleeves of a suit jacket once again, is heinous. The color washes her out, which isn't helped by her severe bun, little to no eyeshadow or lip color. She looks sick to me. Emma's hair being in that bun emphasizes the roundness of her face so much that it looks puffy. The top does nothing for her breasts, and it almost emphasizes her stomach. The skirt is good, but the shoes are monstrosities that should be burned- enough said. After: For Emma, I simplified her shoes and kept them from elongating her feet. I turned the skirt and top into a flattering dress, giving her a chunky necklace to help balance and give interest. I changed her hair to a style that she has worn at a red carpet event, which flatters her face much better. I changed her earrings to smaller hoops as the chunky necklace needs to be balanced. I scrapped Meghan's full outfit as it would be too much to save. I gave her much better, full-bodied hair and did her makeup better than Daniel could. The dress neckline is showy, but covers her shoulders, which helps to, again, balance the shoulders. The draping creates a 'V' shape to help with her waistline, and the draped hanging fabric being placed right at her hip can help with the waistline as well. NYC Dinner at Soho House with another alleged stolen dress https://preview.redd.it/v7i81phr9i6g1.jpg?width=3855&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b24374f9d99e72e06d9cd13a6441116299b81ce8 Before: Another dress that she supposedly, allegedly stole from another photoshoot. Her posture is super wack, and the heels are too elongated for her already long feet. The dress has a drop waist, which is good for her, but the fabric is so heavy and she loses herself in it. The hair in a bun with a sleeveless dress doesn't balance well. After: I gave her an Oscar de la Renta dress that is bright, fresh and almost spring-like. I added sleeves to it as is the trend for this post. I gave her amazing hair, and added a necklace that she already owns. I changed the shoes to Aquazzura, which she loves, changing the color to match the dress. I changed the color of her clutch as well, adding petals on it, once more matching the other colors of the foxgloves. I smoothed her skin out, removing the bronzer and adding lipstick. Mental Health Conference 2025 https://preview.redd.it/8zhru4yr9i6g1.jpg?width=2945&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=656465250c4301c887c4585afd8dba187b8e45ba Before: The shirt that she wore to Wimbledon with Catherine and more recently to the 4th of July post is huge and swamps her unflatteringly. The pants are huge and very creasy. The brown accessories (including her coat) are much too warm of a brown to match with the cool blues of the rest of her outfit. A cooler brown would work better. Her blush is at the wrong place on her cheeks and her hair is so severe. Her pants are pulled up under her breasts, cutting into her torso. She looks like a little girl wearing her dad's clothes. After: The color for National Mental Health Day is green, so I wanted to put her in green. A plain, flattering top is perfect for this- I have a similar one and it is so flattering and you do look professional even if it isn't a full on professional button-down. I changed her pants to match and killed some of the volume and made sure to hem them correctly. I made it a richer, warm brown to match with the green of the rest of her outfit. The side part of her hair helps to add interest. Her makeup was fixed as well. Dodgers Losing Game https://preview.redd.it/80u6wevs9i6g1.jpg?width=6643&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e0bdce17655ffc535a750d17340af0adc8dff84e Before: I wonder if Meghan is a Dodgers fan- let me look back at her before and while dating Harry, surely she didn't show much supp- oh. Oh. OH SHI-. I just hate fair-weather fans. Like, I understand that the LA Dodgers invited them. But if the Yankees (for example) asked me to wear their merch and promote them when I'm actually a Red Sox fan (for example), it would kill me- I don't know if I would be able to do it. I've grown up going to the minor league games of baseball and hockey; I grew up dedicated to my teams, slowly gathering more and more merch of said teams. If I were invited, I might wear a hat, but I sure as hell would be wearing a jersey of my actual team. Or if my husband is a Prince, he could represent the Commonwealth country, and I, as an American, represent the American team- that would sit easier as it is now a zero-sum show. Anyways- the shirt is way too big and almost makes her look like she is pregnant. The rolled up sleeve is super messy and could be easily fixed. The shirt collar is weirdly popped in a way that swamps her. After: I killed the button down and gave her a jersey worn over a t-shirt like a Henley, which would also remove the need for that sweater that she only had draped over her shoulders. The removed collar made her neck look really weird, so please forgive me for my editing/ drawing skills. I gave her a bit of tinted chapstick, and voila! A woman supporting the team that she has been supporting for many years. Cowboy Carter Concert https://preview.redd.it/tix7rtgt9i6g1.jpg?width=2916&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69229e2e5309dfb0d123bf4a646afc12d8f3657a Before: The dress is too tight in places and makes what breasts that she does have look all saggy and grandma-like. The paler brown with the deeper navy makes no sense whatsoever. Her chest is really showing scarily as well (oddly bony). While the theme was cowboy, neither Meghan's nor Harry's outfits actually fit the theme. The dress isn't denim; it is just navy fabric, which thus makes it make no sense for the concert. After: While many of you may not like the overall outfit that I put her in, it matches what Beyoncé and other people wore to this concert, so it would make sense to match the actual theme, like we always want her to do. I put her in a bandana-pattern bodysuit that is similar to what Beyoncé wears for one of her outfits. I put her in distressed daisy dukes to help sell the image of a buckle-bunny because she sure as hell would be one. I also have her knee high leather boots to once more match one of Beyonce's performance looks. I put a bandana that is the same pattern as Meghan's body suit into his pocket so they would match and do a cute couple-y thing without being super gross. I also changed the green cast to his grey hat to be blue to match the rest of the outfit. One805Live! Concert: Country themed https://preview.redd.it/qp417ccu9i6g1.jpg?width=1109&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d76edd0095af70ad6b1729e20ac4f50553e6035 One of my favorites that I have done Before: Another country-themed event and she can't seem to match the prompt! Again matching brown shoes to a navy dress, with no sense of cohesion. Her jaw is clenched painfully and the dress is wrinkling in the torso because it is too small. I thing that she gets these shirt dresses too small so she has an excuse to keep the buttons undone at the top. Her belt is huge and tied in a very ugly way right at the center of her torso, which does her no favors. At least have a full bow or tie at one hip or in the back. After: I gave her the face and hair from the Ireland visit that she went on with Harry while they were still in the BRF as she actually looked nice. I did change the makeup a little in my normal fashion: moving the blush, editing the eyeshadow, sculpting and filling the brows, fixing highlighter and contour, and adding lipstick. I gave her a pricy necklace and matching earrings from a site that she loves: Logan Hollowell. The dress and belt give her a boho/country vibe and the matching cowboy boots pulls it all together. But she would definitely come across as a bad buckle bunny, not an actual country/cowgirl (even I know this and I am not country). Humanitarian Bought Award https://preview.redd.it/48yqsffy9i6g1.jpg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0195a669b863fdf90efbf2b3a75e621daa212a35 Before: She looked greasy is all I am going to say for this one. Greasy and smug. After: I gave her the look in the green because I loved Elle Fanning in it. Its super circus showman, and I think it would be cute to lean into the whole acting persona. The pixie flare/boot cut pants help give her better shape and still lets her have some kind of flare to her pants without needing to get GMPs. I love the bow and the emerald necklace the most. The waistcoat helps to elongate and balance the torso as well- I imagine that it helps to snatch in her waist as well. I gave her a half-up style with some purposeful bangs. I also turned the suit maroon, ironing out all of the wrinkles and giving her a flirty/sexy black lace camisole underneath that would still allow for the sexy look but have it be more manageable than showing her navel. I smoothed out the top of her hair a bit so it doesn't look creasy and lumpy anymore, giving her purposeful bangs as well. For yet another time, I also fixed the makeup. Baby2Baby/Kris Jenner Bday/Remembrance Weekend https://preview.redd.it/590zk0sz9i6g1.jpg?width=6496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e6c6f01405c60ee1aa12db69df26ec56c013aca Before: The top and the skirt are two different colors and textures, leaving us floundering and making her torso look so square. A high bun and turtle neck is usually really good together, but she just looks like she's being pulled super taught. The earrings are just so gauche with this outfit. She has paired the deep navy and black to a deep brown for her shoes and clutch! Harry also copied William and wore a velvet suit jacket! After: I wanted her to model her look after an actual Bond Girl- May Day in A View to a Kill. May day is a strong character and is beautiful. This look was fun to create. I really liked the top outfit and make it into a more modern version. The corset at the waist helps to create a waist and the v-shaped belt helps direct your eye as well. I made the skirt wrap start more around her hip bone, which helps with movement and again the hourglass shape. I gave her bangs but kept the bun to help evoke the sculpted hair that May Day had. The cropped coat hangs off personally, which helps to make her waist look smaller. The diagonal red stripe and the sideways neckline help with directing the eye throughout the look. While this isn't really appropriate for the Baby2Baby gala, I thought that the look for the broadway show earlier would be perfect and then she could change into this dress for the party. I also changed the color on Harry's coat, trying to get rid of the shine of the velvet so he wasn't copying William. I also fully removed the poppy. Balenciaga Black Dress https://preview.redd.it/cwve885f1p6g1.jpg?width=4864&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e3f50afbe020b28bd08890a8f1d58c524ce37e4 Before: I feel like the back is too low and the shoes are so ugly. Her hair is so severe and she looks greasy, not glowy. The cape and open back make no sense but she really wants to evoke the Kermit dress. After: The theme of the show was loose and flowing fabrics, so I wanted to keep true to that. I looked at current Balenciaga offerings, and nothing looked good. And while Balenciaga's most commonly used color, I feel, is black, I want Meghan in color to prove that she can. I found this beautiful loose and flowing evening dress from Balenciaga in 1965, which is now in the Met. I edited it a bit to include the cape and changed the leg slit a little. She is thus wearing a copy or homage to the original without pulling a Kim K and destroying an invaluable piece of fashion. I cut the toes off of her heels and reshaped them to be much less pointed. I gave her cuter hair and I did her makeup, putting some blue on the inner corners to help bring the color of her dress more towards her face. Balenciaga White Suit https://preview.redd.it/gm6y7pr1ai6g1.jpg?width=3168&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=218abb70833b80a9ab039698ba52634a365e1cdc Before: The shoes are still ugly. Her hair is so severe and she still looks greasy, not glowy. The shirt and pants are a cream white while the cape is pure white. The bagginess is also just so ugly and further alienates the cape from the fit. She looks sick- like Ozempic face sick. After: I found this dress yet again at the Met's archives, dated 1963-64. It adds color that wasn't there before. Having the capelet helps with the thick straps of the dress. It also helps bring into account the black heels (which I replaced for more reasonable shoes) and black clutch. I replaced the old clutch with a Carolina Herrera clutch, of which she has two different versions of. I liked the black and the blue stones. I gave her the same hair and makeup as the above picture since she had the outfit change on the same day and she would be wearing the same makeup for both events. I brought more life into her face instead of the scared zombie look. I changed her heels as well. submitted by /u/rangerhorsetug to r/SaintMeghanMarkle [link] [comments]

Ankle bracelets for children?
I sometimes see videos on social media of boys with bracelets (sometimes very thick, they look like gold or silver) on their ankles, and earrings. Why do you put them on them? What's their meaning? Don't they bother them, thanks? How do you wear them? Thanks. submitted by /u/ilRedittiano to r/indiasocial [link] [comments]

Dior beauty ankle bracelet LC
Hi guys, I have bought a dior beauty ankle bracelet from a seller from japan for €30 for my girlfriend, I replaced the bracelet itself with a shorter one from aliexpress to make it a bracelet. But the clips seem to sometimes come loose and just unclip from the bracelet itself. This makes me question 2 things, is this bracelet fake because of the quality? Or is this just cheap materials because of this “Dior beauty” gift. Because you can’t buy these, you could get them while ordering a certain amount. Fyi the gold is also light gold, also known as “cheaper gold look” to me. Hopefully someone can give me some clarification if this is real or not. I also have the box, the box looked real and nothing seemed off. My girlfriend thinks its fake, but I’m not sure. So all help is appreciated!! submitted by /u/RubenJansen to r/DesignerReps [link] [comments]

What's "in" : the very unofficial guide to moving on from skinny jeans + waterfall cardigans in your 30s and beyond in 2024
Disclaimer: Fashion and style have become so much more open, individual and fun. Honestly...if you want to keep rockin' a skinny jean in your Christian Girl Fall...Forevermore... go for it! Edit: this phrasing seems to be confusing and upsetting people. It's a pop culture meme from 2020 I didn't make it up FYI! But I've gotten an influx of questions about "what IS the look now?!" from people who are going back to the office, want a fresh start, are catching up with shopping post-'demic, going out more often, want to overhaul their wardrobe and don't know where to start. One really great source for on-trend but not fashion victim advice: Wardrobe Oxygen's "For Grown Ass Women" series Resource: Pinterest board with some interesting and on-trend outfits I picked plus and fuller bodies because that's a concern for many--how do I look up to date while being plus or having a fuller mid-section, bust, thighs, etc. Resource: take inspiration from "Heaven by Marc Jacobs" your eyes may burn, but you'll get the idea of what the "look" is Most of these looks would 100% fly today, even though they're 70s, 80s, and 90s See this gal: she's got several trends on at once ribbons, dopamine dressing, sheer, candy apple red, Grandpa chic, 90s redux, cowboy boots Wrong shoes, sheer, 90s redux, Grandpa chic, chunky v neck 3 button cardigan, moto boots again, very trendy Now compare to this 2013 street style knee length skirt, slightly fitted tee, statement necklace, pumps *link fixed! Or this tucked in button front, pencil skirt, pumps, statement necklace, very matchy-matchy Or this cutsey intarsia, knee length lady like vintage skirt, carpetbag vintage purse, slim line dainty shoes, overall 1950s twee look. Colorful cropped/rolled chino pants, a button front peeking out of an embellished sweater, sky-high stiletto heels see how dated that looks to our eyes now? Let's dive in: Proportions: For the last 15-ish years until about 2019 or so, the look was slim--skinny jeans, tight knee high boots, maybe a chunky slouchy sweater, but more like a slim fit button down with a slim v neck merino sweater on top. Pencil skirts with belted sweaters, sheath dresses, cropped cigarette pants, slim waterfall cardigans, bias cut midi skirts + tissue thin tees. The overarching look was preppy with touches of girlish twee whimsy, upgrading from "indie sleeze" skinny jeans + tank tops with a "rock star girlfriend" look. Pattern matching (florals and stripes especially) was big. A very carefully coordinated and curated look was in. In the 2020s it's "big pants, little top" OR "loose over loose" in a very general sense. Big square oversized men's tees over maxi skirts + sneakers. Baby tees + cargo pants. Slim knit ribbed sweaters with 90s jeans. Corset tops with rip-stop nylon sporty drawstring skirts. We're still seeing a lot of influence of "slow fashion" looks--very work-wear linen boxy over boxy, clogs, jean jackets, slouchy chunky sweaters, jumpsuits or boilersuits, high waisted snug jeans with a belt + a camp shirt. Trend: Dopamine dressing: bright colors, wild prints, playful prints, art prints. Lisa Says Gah and Fashion Brand Company are two brands that make referential, odd, conversation piece items. Power clashing, and bold colors are key. Trend: 90s redux. So the office siren look--slouchy low slung pinstripe pants with a shrunken waistcoat (nothing underneath) and smudged red lips, quiet luxury separates, Prada everything, but also the sporty-chic nylon, luggage straps, paracording, reflective brights, canvas, quilted outerwear, drawstrings, anorak looks. Trend: dark academia/cottagecore. This is a bit past its prime, but for those who are taking baby steps away from skinny jeans, you can still work this for sure. This is dark florals, Victorian puff sleeves, big twirly cloaks and capes, maxi skirts + lace up prairie boots, baroque jewelry, curly hair, wire rimmed glasses. Cottage core overlaps with workwear: boilersuits, calico, ribbons, prairie looks, knee high cable knit socks, corduroy everything, hand-knit sweaters with hay in them, linen, wool, silk, leather, cotton, denim, Doc Martens and Converse. Dark Academia is cottagecore + a gothic vibe. Trend: wrong [item] mostly 'wrong shoes'. Dainty Mary Jane shoes with basketball shorts and a sweatshirt. Sneakers with a gown. Loafers with a mini dress. Socks + pumps or sandals. The deliberate, in your face challenging "ugliness" we saw in the 90s is on the fringes of the hot style now. Trend: ribbons and bows. Honestly y'all, this is tough one for the over-35. But the overall balletcore, coquette and Selkie/For Love and Lemons/Love Shack Fancy vibe is strong. Tying ribbons on whatever is a thing. Consider ribbon neckties, a ribbon around your wrist, a ribbon belt, or a big lush velvet hair ribbon. My predictions: 80s Pierrot and/or clowncore is about to hit big--we're already tiptoeing towards it with bows everywhere, big high waisted pants, cowboy boots, stripes/plaid. It's a natural extension of balletcore and dopamine dressing. Western Gothic: dark Academia + dark boho Western. Fringe, dark botanicals, all black, leather, suede, and a mix of desert/witch influences. 20's Patou style pants with a tunic, "Far East" looks with pants + tunic, extreme dropped waists, tube dresses or hobble dresses, big cocoon coats, bobs + barrettes. I've already seen a 20's bob + side barrette on Nicole Kidman in Expats (new TV show). Sliding into 30s Dust Bowl chic in the last 2020s I predict as well. Flour sack dresses, aprons as fashion, wild coming-undone braids, 'silver nitrate contour' + hollowed out eyes makeup, men's dress shoes + slouchy socks + day dresses. Just watch, I predicted it first. Going out: it's not a "going out top" and jeans, people. It's denim on denim with a big ol' double-G belt, a corset top + leather or pleather pants, a bodysuit + jeans, an ultra-mini dress + moto boots, a sports jersey + no visible pants + heels, a slip dress + sneakers, a band tee + engineer stripe flares, a backless/strappy/cutout top + cargo pants, and for day, brunch dresses + sneakers. Overall: embellishment and lots of detail aren't really in right now. It's mostly prints, patterns, volume, texture, or a "clean girl" look. Embroidery in particular feels a bit dated, unless it's thick yarn on a chunky cropped sweater or intarsia style. Novelty prints like little foxes, birds, etc--those are "out". Statement necklaces, brocade boots, arm parties--those are out. I've noticed Gen Z is wearing TONS of gold jewelry but in a new way: multiple earrings, stacked rings, and coordinated chains with pendants or charms. A "curated ear" is the new arm party. I personally have been rocking a thin rigid ankle bracelet--almost a bangle style-- from Jenny Bird because I think those are coming back. Workwear: Shoes: lug sole loafers, kitten heels, street sneakers (leather or suede), wider-shaft boots, sling-back flats and sandals, mules of all kinds Pants: wide leg, straight leg, carrot/barrel, full length or at ankle. High waisted generally. Tops: natural waist tops of all kind, 90s silk tops, camp shirts, Victorian-style eyelet, bishop sleeves, or piecrust collars, slouchy sweaters, big chunky 3-button cardigans over polished tees, button fronts but cropped to natural waist/boxy. We are getting closer to the revival of the peplum (which I am here for and always have been). Toppers: oversized slouchy borrowed from the boys suit jacket (not part of matching suit), jean jacket, varsity style sweaters, long boxy square thicker "kimono" style dusters/toppers--almost lab-coat style, maxi cardigans in a lush material like angora Suits: pant suits in interesting colors, casual drapey 90s Armani style suits Alright, add your 2 cents! Let's avoid "no way/cold dead hands/I've been wearing my Gap chinos since 2002 and I'll die in them" type of remarks. If trends isn't for you, that's cool, but keep it pushin'. submitted by /u/Chazzyphant to r/fashionwomens35 [link] [comments]

Looking for any suggestions of how I could make this ankle bracelet thing for a Rainbow High doll. I want it to be gold instead of blue & I'd be pairing it with basic high heels & likely no socks. It needs to be stiff enough to keep its shape & stay in place, but flexible enough to be removable.

TIFU by gift Wrapping myself for a Sexual Predator
TIFU by gift Wrapping myself for a Predator Catfish. This happened a few years ago and I still feel it appropriate to change a few details surrounding the story to help conceal my identity. Some background information: This occurred in early 2018 - back when Facebook was experiencing a real issue with bot accounts sending out Friend Requests. I'm a male, and at the time I was in my early 20's and VERY single. So single that perhaps it was effecting my sensibility. I was employed in the hospitality industry, and as a result I was meeting and interacting with hundreds or people on a weekly basis. The story begins when I received a Friend Request on Facebook from a rather attractive girl. Now I didn’t recognize her name or profile picture so I just ignored the request assuming that Facebook would delete the account within a day or two. However, a few days passed and the request was still waiting approval. I decided to investigate and realized that we actually had some mutual friends in common – so maybe this girl was legit? Feeling curious (and hopeful) I accepted her request and took the initiative to start up a conversation. I asked her how she knew me and she said that she had actually spoken to me while I was working, and that we had had such a great conversation she was compelled hit me up. Now I had no recollection of this happening and if I’m honest I was a little skeptical however, she knew where I worked (which wasn’t listed anywhere on my social media) and details about my personality that only someone who had met me would know. So why wouldn’t I try my luck with gorgeous girl? From that point on began a back forth of conversation that quickly went from friendly to flirtatious, to trading of NSFW images. One day, roughly three weeks into our online relationship she decided she wanted to video call me. Of course I agreed. After a short and awkward first time video call “Hello”, I took control of the conversation and started giving her directions of a more explicit nature (I wasn’t so socially awkward that I didn’t know when someone was into being a bit more submissive). Anyway this continued for a few days. One one occasion I even video called her while I was on break with a work colleague, who was absolutely blown away with how lucky I was coming across a girl like this. Obviously this relationship had went passed the point that her and I meeting was a necessity, and she had began to frequently request dates to either get coffee or go to the beach, but due to my erratic shift schedule I always found myself working when she was free. I was starting to worry. I hadn’t any adult relations in such a long time I was becoming almost desperate to meet up and make a good impression as soon as possible. It was somewhere into the fourth week of this relationship that the big “Red Flag” revealed itself. I can’t remember the conversation word for word, but out the blue she came up this idea. Her: You know, I’ve been thinking. Me: Yea, what’s that? Her: Well I’ve always had this fetish where I get to be in complete control and the guys tied up. Me: Oh? You want to try tying me up? Yea, we could definitely experiment with that 😉 Her: Well its more than that. I want to come into a room after never meeting you in person and find you tied up and naked and ready for me to ride. Me: Um what… hahaha that sounds a lot like you want to beat me up and rob me Her: No!! don’t be silly! I would never do that! This fetish reveal kind of made my stomach turn. It was so bizarre. I mean I was sure this girl was real - I’d seen her on camera numerous times. Could someone really fake that? IS SHE A CATFISH? Surely this couldn’t all have been some long elaborate plot to rob me? Frustrated and confused I went to my work colleagues for advise. Most of the advice I received was that “taking things any further with this girl was NOT worth the banter, and I could get seriously hurt”. Except for one person. Remember how earlier on I had introduced that girl to a colleague on a video call? Well he was convinced this situation was real, and a once in lifetime opportunity. He laid on the peer pressure, and exclaimed to me how much of a wimp I would be if I didn’t go through with this. He suggested that on my next days off that I get a hotel room and go for gold. Now being the idiot I am I went home with his words in my head – and messaged the girl for more information. Me: Hey, you know that fetish you were talking about a few days ago? The one how you walk into the room and I’m already tied up? Her: Yea I sure do 😉 why were you asking? Me: Well theoretically, how would that even work? Its not like I can tie myself up? Her: Well I’ve seen your bedroom in our video calls – you have four post bed. Just tie you legs and arms to each post. Me: Haha Are you serious? I mean lets say I did that – at most I would still have one hand free. Her: Hmmm one hand free should still be fine 😉 I sat there for a moment in contemplation. This is where I fucked up - reality had set in and I was now 99% sure I was being scammed or set up. During my teen years I had always found ways to get myself into these crazy, outrageous situations that often made for great stories. I believed this would be equally great. So just wanted to see what would happen and maybe even gamble on that 1% chance I was wrong… I decided to do it for the banter. Me: You know what, I’m in. Are you free tonight? Her: I would be free around 9pm? OMG I’m so excited 😉Me: Lets do this! I guess I better by some rope 😉 That day I went straight to the Adult Shop in my area and purchased some BDSM restraints. I found some that looked flimsy enough incase I needed to bust out. It was a kit with 4 tethers – one side was a rope loop that secured onto the bed post. It connected to a chain to a leather cuff binding that secured to the wrist or ankle. I sent her a photo of the purchase and she replied by telling me how excited she was for our encounter and teasing me with details of what the night had in store for me. Now a big detail I forgot to mention was that I didn’t actually have my own place - I still lived with my parents and two younger brothers. At the time I was thinking this would actually work in my favor as an added safety measure, just in case things went side ways. So none the wiser I sent her my address. I even filmed a short video from my back door to my bedroom so that she could get into my bedroom with minimal risk of running into one of my family members. It took some reassuring from me that she wouldn’t run into my family and eventually she agreed it was worth the risk. What did I communicate to my family? Well, I just straight up didn’t tell them ANYTHING! A fool proof plan. So there I am. Its close to 9 O’clock and I’m naked, with both my feet and my left hand bound to the bed. My valuables were tucked away out of site, and in my right hand I held my phone. Me: So its almost 9 😉 I’m ready for you. Her: I’m actually just outside – god I’m so excited and so scared at the same time. Me: Me too actually. Her: can you send me a photo, I want to know you’re actually tied up and ready? To the best of the ability of my unbound hand I captured and sent the most awkward selfie of my life – my pale, naked body bound to a bed, with just a pillow covering my manhood. Her: Um that’s not right! Me: What do you mean? Her: You need to wear a blind fold! Me: What? Why? I don’t even own a blind fold? Her: I’m nervous, I don’t want you to see me. The addition of the blindfold really introduced a state of worry, but I had come so far, what’s just a little further down the rabbit hole? Me: Can I just put a shirt over my face? Her: Yes, that will do nicely. Me: Okay, give me one minute and come inside. I had undressed just before tying myself in and the clothes I had been wearing were in a ball at the top right corner of the bed. I retrieved my shirt and placed it over my head however, I left enough of a gap in the shirt that I could see my closed bedroom door. This was easily one of the longest minutes of my life. Each second the terror and realization of the pure idiotic situation I had literally bound myself into was growing. Finally, the stress amounted to all to much. I was just about to remove the shirt from my face when I could hear movement behind the door. I froze and laid there perfectly still. The door crept slowly open. A figure entered the room, closed the door and stood looking over me from the end of my bed. The only light in my room was coming from my bedside lamp but it was very easy to tell that figure in front of me was not the petite blonde girl I had been messaging for the last few weeks. Instead it was a young MALE sporting a cheap fancy dress wig. At this point, it was pretty clear I had f#cked up, but I was unsure how to react so I just stuttered a nervous “hello” from beneath my shirt, and waited to see what would happen next. The man started making his way down along my queen size bed towards my bed side dresser... I thought to myself “Thank god, he’s only here to rob me”. Oh how my stomach sunk when instead of going through my dresser, he simply placed his phone on top of it before turning to face me on the bed, reaching out and moving the pillow - fully exposing my manhood. Him (trying to sound feminine): Hmm wow, this is so nice! Oh F#ck. The man ran his hand from above my man parts up to my chest, leaned over and kissed my neck. Another important detail I forgot to mention is that some of my experience in the hospitality industry was as a Bouncer – so naturally I have some self defense training and I’m no stranger to physically confrontation. There was NO WAY in hell I was going to let what ever was about to take place go any further. My adrenaline was spiking and I acted fast. With my right hand I struck him in the face. Simultaneously, I managed to pull hard enough with my left arm and right hand to break the restraints (bending apart the cheap mental rings connecting the rope to the chains). Fortunately I caught him so off guard his initial response was not to fight back, instead he tried to take flight and snatched up his phone from on top of the dresser. This left him completely open for me to pull him with my free limbs into a rear naked choke. This is definitely was the closest I’ve come to killing someone. Immediately all I could think about was choking him out, then spending the rest of the night hiding his body. All I could see was RED. I said something along the lines of “What the f#ck do you think you’re doing. You know I could kill you. I’m going to break you”. This actually caused him to start crying and begging that I let him go. Telling me how sorry he was and he would just leave if I released him. Somehow, I felt sympathetic - The gullible is most strong with me. I told him that I was going to let him go only if he agreed he was going to lie still while I get up and put clothes on. Then and only then I would walk him out of my house. He agreed and told me he understood and I released him to the opposite side of the bed (This was so I was positioned between him and the door. He laid there still, quietly whimpering. This was a BIG MISTAKE. As soon as I sat up I realized my left ankle was still bound to the bed post and when I reached forward to untie myself, he nimbly sprung to his feet. I spun and grabbed his ankle but he kicked my hand away and jumped over the metal footboard of my bed before he reached forward and pulled open the door. In a last ditch effort to regain control, I lunged after him; With only just my ring finger, I snared the back of his shirt collar. This was enough to drag me right over the footboard of the bed, bruising and cutting my legs. I heard his shirt tear and watched him run straight into the hallway wall with a loud BANG. This, somehow was the first loud noise either of us had made so far – I knew it, and he knew it too. He dashed off down the hallway and as my left ankle was still bound to the bed and I was… well, naked, I closed the door and worked on untying my ankle. I could hear my family all yelling in alarm “What was that?! What was that bang?”. I had just finished pulling up a pair of track pants from my bedroom floor when I heard someone outside my door. I shoved my left hand deep into my pocket to hide the leather bracelet just as my Father opened the door. Dad: Son what was that bang? Are you okay? Me: I’m fine, I was lying in bed when I heard it – I just got up. Dad: I think someone was in the house! My Father turned and ran away. I could hear him and my brothers run towards the Front Door. It couldn't end like this?! I was a minute behind but finally I gave chase! Still shirtless, I sprinted through the house and went straight for the rear door. After quickly scanning the rear of the premises for my intruder I made for the side gate and passed my family searching the dark front yard. I continued running up the street, the leather braces still strapped around my left wrist and both ankles (For some reason I tied the restraint from the bedpost instead of taking off the bracelet). I saw a single car, parked on the verge across the street. I approached it hesitantly however it appeared unoccupied. Feeling defeated and in pain, I removed all the braces and hid them in my pockets before making my way back towards my house. One of the cherries on the cake was that as soon as I made it back to my driveway the car I was approaching erratically reversed and sped off down the street. I literally facepalmed at my own stupidity for not taking down the car’s registration plate when I had the chance. I feigned a shocked conversation with my family regarding the unknown intruder as I made my way back to my bedroom - fortunately they were somehow none the wiser. I sat down on the edge of the bed to access everything that happened. My left shoulder was in pain, and I had difficulty lifting my arm (I think it subluxed when I yanked it to break the binding to the bed). My ring finger which I had used to grab his shirt was now doubled in size, bruising black and aching terribly. Naturally I called the Police and I was transferred to some sort of detective to tell him my story. I was actually impressed with how professional he was – even after hearing how stupidly I had acted. I was thinking about pressing charges, right up until he said the first step would be sending a full forensics team to my property, and detectives to get written statements from my family. This freaked me out, there’s no way I could bare that shame. I politely withdrew my allegation and wished him a good night. He advised me to screen shot all the conversations I had had with the girl and to wrap the wig in a plastic bag and seal it shut should I ever change my mind about pursuing a charge in the coming months. Fallout - The girl I had been messaging messaged me a few more times. She acted confused, and pretended her account had been hacked a few days ago, before cutting me off a week later. Apparently none of our mutual friends were genuine - that had all just accepted her random request. The shoulder took about five weeks to heal. My finger was broken and due to my refusal to see a specialist straight away, it took 3 months to recover. Two months of that time I lost work, and my hand will never be fully functional again. Anyway I kept the wig and came across it other day - still taped up in a plastic bag. I thought it was time to share my story – My friends and work colleagues loved hearing it and so I hope you get something out of it too. TL;DR – I tied my self up and invited a catfish, sexual predator into my family home, got into a tussle and broke my finger. EDIT: I'm gonna answer some questions and comments bellow: The finger break wasn't all that bad. It was a fracture across the middle knuckle. My GP advised me to splint it and as bi-weekly X-rays didn't show improvement he directed me to keep it this way for 5 weeks. This pretty much set my finger at a twist and I was completely unable to move it. The specialist told me afterwards as an absolute maximum he would have only set a finger straight for maybe two weeks - if you don't use it, you lose it sorta thing. It took literally hundreds of hours of physio therapy and weekly meetings with a hand specialist to be able to get it back to what it is now - which is about 95% functional. Its just twisted, had limited mobility and isn't always as strong as it should be. I'm sorry but the Co-worker theory is wrong. I kept typing co-workers when writing this, however I should clarify that most of these people are my friends. If it was the co-worker that came to my house there's no way I would have been able to over power him and I would be telling a very different story - That said, I was suspicious of everybody for a time however I didn't notice anything amiss. I did contact some of those mutual friends to see if I could get them to message her and help me flush her out. It seems she had actually attempted to catfish a few of them as well but cut contact not long after the incident with me. The wig came off when I pulled him into a chokehold and I actually got a decent look at him - I did not recognize him at all. I tried to keep the memory of his face, voice, and (this might sound weird) his shoes (for some reason they stuck with me from when I grabbed his ankle) with me for as long as I could so I could identify him on the street. After all this time I honestly only remember him more by his general characteristics now. My theory is that one of them met me at work. Then the girl catfished me on behalf a gay guy friend who had some closet fantasy. Either way I believe both were equally responsible. Here's a link to the wig pic - I've never taken it out of the bag, and I don't really want to just yet - https://imgur.com/a/Do7oeX4 submitted by /u/BambCK to r/tifu [link] [comments]
