Is Atlassian still a good company to work for?
Currently work as a swe at a big 4 bank, but a long-term ambition is still to transition into Big Tech, specifically a company like Atlassian. However, I’ve recently noticed a lot of negative sentiment surrounding them, including AI-driven layoffs and stock volatility, which has me second-guessing myself. Given the current tech market landscape, is aiming for a company like Atlassian still a worthy long-term goal, or am I better off looking elsewhere? submitted by /u/New_Animator4702 to r/cscareerquestionsOCE [link] [comments]

How realistic is it to get into Atlassian as a mid-level engineer coming from a bank?
Hi all, I'll be starting as a software engineering grad at a Big 4 bank next year. However, my long-term goal is to transition into Big Tech, specifically Atlassian. Since I missed the Atlassian intern/grad windows for this cycle, my plan is to gain experience at the bank first and then make the jump. I am wondering how realistic it is to move from a Big 4 bank grad role into a P40 (mid-level) role at Atlassian later on? How many years of bank experience should I clock before applying and how easy or achievable is this goal, and what should I focus on during my bank grad rotations to make myself competitive for a P40 interview? Thanks! submitted by /u/New_Animator4702 to r/cscareerquestionsOCE [link] [comments]

At what price if any does TEAM (Atlassian) become attractive?
I was going through my watchlist just kind of looking into stocks I haven’t thought about in a while, looking at earnings etc. I recently gave birth to my first child so my portfolio has been on the back burner the past few months while we enjoy this special time with our son. Anyway, I was pretty shocked by the price on TEAM. The last time I looked at it must have been about 6 months ago at double the price. Obviously the stock used to suffer from massive over valuation, and I understand that AI is a threat to the sector. Still, it seems unlikely to me that SaaS is just dead forever, but it’s also possible I am being naive. Usually I would dislike that the stock has run up so much this month, but it’s also miles away from its ATH, and I don’t usually purchase stocks at a 52 week low anyway. What is your take? Would you buy, and is SaaS as we’ve known it dead? submitted by /u/Fearless_Lake_10 to r/ValueInvesting [link] [comments]

What we can learn from the Atlassian layoff video
No tokens generated during the composition of this post For those who have not seen the video, a former atlassian engineer recently posted a video going over his time at atlassian. The title is clickbait, this is basically a system design video about building a load balancer controller at scale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55pTFVoclvE Now, few things to address because I've seen the other comments section of people who clearly didn't watch the video. Nothing he said in this video is likely to be proprietary. It's high level system design. He probably doesn't have to worried about getting sued, it all seems like fair use. But IANAL. Here is what we can learn: Talented engineers get laid off. I know most people should know this, a lot of time layoffs target experienced engineers as they have higher salaries. But this individual seems like he knows his craft and I don't doubt he won't have trouble finding work. You need to be considering new opportunities more often than every 8 years. This is not your father's career anymore. Once you hit that 5 year mark, YMMV, but you should really be dipping your feet into that market. This showcases what SWE really is. It's not banging out code on your keyboard. It's not always building the main product, but something ancillary to the main product. Something that facilitates productivity on the team. There is more here, but I have to cut this short. submitted by /u/ninetofivedev to r/ExperiencedDevs [link] [comments]

Bull Case for Atlassian $100bn Valuation.
So earlier last month I made a post about Atlassian being one of the final AI winners, https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/1ryn4sf/atlassian_will_be_the_final_ai_winner/ Naturally, as it was a fairly contrarian take, I was mostly derided for it. But since that post, Atlassian has recovered a reasonable amount and earnings show that things are actually proceeding as I had speculated. I think based on just current market valuations for Atlassian, we could potentially see a 5x return on existing stock prices, and reaching a potentially $100bn valuation in 2 years. Naturally I own the stock, so take note my opinion may be biased. This may seem unreasonable to most, but if you extrapolate the financials there is a real possibility that this happens (over 50% chance). If we simply keep cloud revenue growth constant at 25%, achieve a 1-2% gross margin improvement (due to shift to cloud) and keep operating costs constant, Atlassian could see over $2bn in operating profit in 2028, which is more than enough to justify a $100bn valuation by current depressed SaaS standards. FYI serviceNow has $2bn in operating profit with a $90bn valuation (and likely slower growth). If saas sentiment improves (which I believe is probable), then this has potentially to surge even higher (maybe $150bn?). You can see my other post on that - https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/1rynxom/contrarian_take_legacy_enterprise_saas_will/ All in all, I think this is one of the best risk-reward plays on the market at this current point in time. submitted by /u/fahrenheitc to r/stocks [link] [comments]

Atlassian lays off 10% of workforce
Atlassian layoff And, of course, their stock price immediately went up. CEO claims it was because of AI. Those short-term gainzzz tho... 🙄 EDIT: I know the stock price went back down. The point is that this is yet another example of the dysfunctional relationship between tech CEOs and the stock market. They'll nearly always look for ways to spin the news to try to pump up the stock because the stock price matters more than having a quality product. submitted by /u/Squidalopod to r/cscareerquestions [link] [comments]

Fuck Atlassian, and Fuck AI
This is a full on rant spilling out of the absolute trash heap that is now support in all areas, especially with Atlassian. I don't want your fucking chat bot, I want a real human working with me to answer my questions. Especially when you make it SO INCREDIBLY EASY for users to accidentally create organizations within our tenant and then make me wait 60 fucking days to delete them and ONLY if there are no actual "services" (even if they're free) in an active state. Especially especially if you roll out your stupid "rovo" AI nonsense app to all of said organizations without my opt in consent, then make it actually impossible for me to remove Rovo without opening a support request for some reason. Because there's no way to deactivate it or delete. And a special fuck you for now forcing me to type in the form to contact support only to reach an AI chat bot, and then have to hunt down the tiny link to click because actually no thank you I need to have a human do something on my account even though I should be able to do it myself and I don't think a chatbot could perform this work, so please give me a human, only to have that link do...nothing. Absolutely nothing. Except blank out the page and make me start over. So here I am, trying to remove 6 rogue, empty, annoying organizations in my Atlassian tenant with no way to do it and no way to contact support. Fuck your chat bots, and fuck you. submitted by /u/pmbrandvold to r/sysadmin [link] [comments]
