RE:Is it really possible to have babies who take both the breast and the bottle? How?
Yes. My baby has had both since the day he was born. We use the Philips Avent bottle with the slowest flow nipple. He prefers breast but will accept the bottle when I’m gone.

RE:Baby won't take bottle
Level 3 is way too fast for a nursed baby, so start with the slowest flow. He may also not like the bottle. Avent natural response nipples are the most boob-like flow and helped my son with refusal. The other thing is that my son needed the milk very warm and to be fed sitting/propped up. He had very different preferences for nursing vs. bottle feeding positions.

RE:Breastfeeding and pumping
You’re doing the right thing. The best bottle is the one your baby takes. Those Avent nipples are great for nursed babies because they don’t just dribble milk out, they flow like a real boob.

Navigating a tough postpartum (C-Section & SPD) and a 1 month old. Need advice on baby's weight gain, breast pumps & feeding bottles.
Hi everyone, I’m a husband posting here (with moderator approval) to seek some advice for my wife and our one-month-old baby boy. TL;DR at the end of the post. We welcomed him on March 2nd via C-section after a gruelling 22 hours of labor. My wife has been incredibly strong, but she is dealing with a lot of pain from lingering Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) and a recent minor surgery to remove an epidermoid cyst on her back. After staying by her side for two months to help her physically navigate the recovery and early newborn days, I absolutely had to return to Hyderabad for work, while she continues recovering at her parents' village. I am trying my best to support her remotely and sort out a few things we are struggling with. I got approval for a one-off post so I'll try to be as comprehensive as possible, please bear with me. 1. Baby’s Poop Changes: In his 2nd and 3rd weeks, our baby had green poop with curdly white spots. In his 4th week, he went 5.5 straight days without pooping at all. Recently, in the last 2 days, he has pooped 3 times and it looks normal. Was that green poop with curdly white spots he had earlier alright? And is his current frequency of pooping safe? 2. Breast Pump Recommendations: Despite recovering from the C-section, SPD, and the cyst removal, my wife is determined to pump and feed the baby herself. She is in a lot of physical pain, so I want to get her an efficient pump to reduce her pumping time and let her rest. Her nipple size is ~19mm. I've shortlisted the Spectra S1 Plus and the Philips Avent hands-free pump, but the Spectra is hard to find and a new one is out of our budget. Did anyone go through a similar experience, and what did you do to make sure you got the right pump? Also, if anyone in Hyderabad has a pre-loved Spectra they are willing to part with, I would be really grateful and will gladly match your price(but, please be reasonable 😊). 3. Increasing Baby's Weight: Our baby weighed 3.4 kgs at birth. For the first 3 weeks, he was very lethargic, hard to wake, and only fed every 4 to 4.5 hours, causing his weight to drop to 3 kgs. Ten days ago, he was at 3.3 kgs and we started strictly waking him up(sometimes we had to pinch him and that was dreadful) to feed every 2 hours (sometimes every hour). We've finally seen improvement: his face looks fuller, and he gained 400 grams, bringing him to 3.7 kgs at 31 days old. What else can we do to increase his weight to the ideal range, or is the strict feeding routine we changed to enough? 4. Glass Bottles & Cold Sterilization: To avoid microplastics as much as possible(atleast in his early years), I decided on Philips Avent Natural Response glass feeding bottles, and the Chicco multipurpose disinfectant liquid to cold-sterilize the plastic rings, silicone teats, and pump parts. However, I am running into a major problem: I can't find these glass bottles or the Chicco liquid in most pharmacies right now. Did anyone else use these, and if so, where did you find them? Alternatively, are there any easily available, safe alternatives to these specific glass bottles and cold sterilization liquids? We are first-time parents trying to navigate a pretty overwhelming postpartum phase. My wife is pushing through a lot of pain for our little one, and I just want to ease her burden. If any of you experienced moms have insights, solutions, or advice for any of these issues, please drop a comment. Your help would mean the absolute world to us right now! TL;DR Dad here(posting with moderator approval) trying to support my wife who is recovering from a C-section, SPD, and a cyst removal in her village while I work in Hyderabad. Looking for specific advice on our 1-month-old's poop/weight gain, finding the right breast pump (Spectra/Avent), and sourcing glass bottles. submitted by /u/drecana to r/twoxindiamums [link] [comments]

Help needed - baby projectile vomiting after feeding from a bottle
I have exclusively breastfed by 10 week old but I have been wanting to introduce 2 bottles of formula a day just to take some of the pressure off and also help with my baby’s slower weight gain. My baby has had reflux and was prescribed omeprazole at 4 weeks old to help with the pain this was causing. Since being on this the reflux pain has stopped. He sicks up little bits of breastmilk after feeding but nothing major. He also has a suspected cows milk allergy diagnosed by the health visitor. We were prescribed aptamil Pepti 1 but until till the last 8 days I didn’t use it and instead cut dairy out from my diet and exclusively breast fed. Since introducing 2 bottles of aptamil pepti 1 my baby has been projectile vomiting the feeds back up. He drinks the bottle and seems to enjoy it and then about 10 minutes after we feed him he projectile vomits the entire feed back up. We wind him throughout the bottle and he sicks up a little bit when being winded. We have tried: - winding more frequently - using mam bottles with size 1 teats. We have also tried using Philips Avent bottles with both size 3 and size 4 teats but baby didn’t get along with these bottles so only used Avent bottles once before going back so mam with size 1 teats. - paced feeding - infant gaviscon - we’ve made the bottles different ways (with a perfect prep machine, using a rapid cool, using the kettle and letting the bottle cool) - keeping him upright while feeding and after feeding. None of the above changes have helped and he is bringing up the entire feed no matter what we do. We have a follow up at the doctors but it’s not until 31st of March so any advice before then would be massively appreciated!! submitted by /u/AccomplishedBox2946 to r/BeyondTheBumpUK [link] [comments]

Finally Received a Unicorn Order!
For over the last year I have seen post from time to time showing what people in this community call Unicorn orders. I would be happy for the people although I knew that it would never happen to me in my market. Welp I guess I was wrong. There were a few downfalls for the order such as waiting for employees at target to get the items from the back plus replacing a iPad for PS5 ...then waiting for the employee to go to the back for it. Also the major thing was my account got flagged or unusual activities and I received a 24hr ban (Which actually lasted about 3hrs). If it could happen to me it can happen to you. 🙏🏾 submitted by /u/HistoryStraight2292 to r/InstacartShoppers [link] [comments]

Baby Brezza Bottle Washer or Grownsy?
If you’re building your baby registry right now, you’ve probably seen the ads for those $300+ automatic bottle washers. As a second-time parent who hates the "Dr. Brown’s bottle parts graveyard" in my sink, I was 100% ready to splurge. But $300 is a lot for a single-purpose appliance. After doing some deep-dive research, I ended up getting Grownsy easeclean pro washer save about $100 I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now, and here’s the breakdown for anyone on the fence: The Price The Brezza Pro is usually $299. I got the Grownsy on sale for near $100.For a machine that essentially does the same thing (Wash + Sterilize + Dry), the "brand tax" on the Brezza felt a bit much. Their tablets also cheaper. Capacity & Compatibility This was my biggest concern. We use Dr. Brown’s Anti-Colic bottles, and if you know, you know—those green vents and straws are a nightmare to wash. • Grownsy: It actually fits 7 full bottles plus all those annoying accessories comfortably. The internal layout feels like it was designed by someone who actually washes bottles but Brezza only holds 4 bottles. • Pro Tip: It fits almost every brand I tried (Philips Avent, Comotomo, etc.) without having to play Tetris. No Plumbing Needed I didn't want a dirty tank. When I’m busy, I just can’t remember to clean the dirty water tank in time.A direct drain design is so much convenient and hygienic. The Bone Dry Factor The 212°F hot air drying is legit. My biggest fear was "dishwasher dampness" leading to mold. These come out hot and 100% dry. I can take them straight from the machine. TL;DR: If you have $300 burning a hole in your pocket, the Brezza is fine. But if you want the exact same convenience, medical-grade sterilization, and a machine that actually handles Dr. Brown’s parts for half the price, Grownsy is the way to go. Anyone else found a budget alternative that actually outperformed the name brand? submitted by /u/hosohep to r/daddit [link] [comments]

Best bottle for breastfed baby
Baby girl is almost 4 months. Exclusively breast fed outside of the occasional middle of the night formula bottle. My job is 99% remote. Problem is that 1%. I have a work event in March that will have me gone for about 12 hours. Baby will not take a bottle any other time than middle of the night. Tried formula, defrosted milk, and fresh pumped so it’s not the flavor bothering her but the fact it’s not my boob delivering. Refuses playtex bottles, Philips avent and dr browns. Looking for suggestions on what would fool her best cause she can’t come with me to work. submitted by /u/UWillFearMyLaserFace to r/breastfeeding [link] [comments]

Does your baby finish the bottle in one go?
My 7-8 week baby has a tendency not finish a bottle (currently 90ml/3oz) all at once. He eats half, then the other half maybe 2h later. I searched this subreddit for posts on how quickly people's babies finished their bottle and everyone's baby seems to guzzle things down in 5-15min. He is pace fed with a Phillips Avent slow flow bottle. My baby has spit up/reflux issues so we pause after at least half the bottle to burp him. He usually goes completely comatose at this point & may or may not wake up by the 2 hour mark to finish the rest of the bottle. Anyone else's baby similar? We have 2 month wellness check soon & I'm trying to come up with a list of things that I need to discuss versus things that are actually normal so I should not waste time discussing (the disclaimer for the appt e-check in is that if we have too many issues, we will need to schedule additional appt) Thanks! submitted by /u/Amazing-Neighborhood to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

Baby refuses bottles. Please help. I’m so exhausted.
Baby is 3 months old and combo feed since birth (formula 1-2 times a day). He suddenly started to refuse bottle a week ago. We tried Dr. Brown’s, Philips avent and Spectra bottles. He refused all of them. The first few day we could trick him by putting him on my breast for about 20 seconds then switch to bottle. We can’t trick him anymore. When his dad tried to feed him I wasn’t nearby. Baby still didn’t take bottle. My supply is low so he gets hungry often. I have to feed him every 1.5 hours. I wake up to feed several times at night. I’m exhausted physically and mentally. Sometimes i feel like he just sucks my empty breast. I’ve been trying to eat more and drink more water but I really don’t have much time to eat or cook. I’ve been in a survival mode seriously. No one can help me feed my baby because he only wants me to breastfeed. Please let me know what to do to make him take bottles again. Thank you very much. submitted by /u/pinkishvioletsky to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

Dr Browns vs Philips Avent natural bottles
Hey so I’m due in July with a new baby, so I have plenty of time to make a decision but I’m hyper focused on this right now lol, anyway has anyone used both Philips scent natural and Dr browns and preferred one over the other? Narrow or wide? With my first I had some issues with flow on the Philips but I just stuck with it and didn’t change bottles but he had some colic too and I want to reduce that as much as possible this time. I like the softer silicone of the nipples of Dr browns compared to Philips avent but otherwise I don’t have much else to say about them, any suggestions and thoughts are appreciated! submitted by /u/moe_pengu to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

Philips Avent Bottles
Okay I don’t know if I’m an idiot or what but I HATE THESE DAMN BOTTLES. I have tried size 0, 2, 3, and 4 nipples and there is no happy medium for my baby. 0 and 2 she gets drops out and tires herself out before she even gets full. 3 and 4 and she’s choking and spitting half of the milk up all over herself. And yes, I have made sure the notch is aligned, burp the bottle, and made sure the lid isn’t on too tight. Am I dumb? I’m about to throw all of these out and just get a few more Dr. Brown’s bottles. Getting Bigger Bottles As Baby Ages?
Hey everyone, So baby girl (3m today!) is mainly breastfeed, daily bottle of pumped milk (1-2x a day) so my husband can help out and family can feed her. We’ve been wondering when we’ll need to upgrade to a bigger bottle. Currently we use the phillips avent 4oz bottles, and with sales on right now I’m wondering if we need the bigger bottles? I’ve heard that my milk will change as she ages and she likely won’t need bigger bottles? Most of my mom friends have upgraded to bigger bottles (8oz bottles) by now but their babies are formula/combo fed. Any thoughts? My mother-in-law does not like Philips Avent Natural Response bottle
My baby is purely breastfed. There are just times when he bottle-feeds (still with breastmilk) if I have to go out or during workdays. Our first bottle was given by my sister-in-law — the Philips Avent Anti-Colic, but it was second-hand. We started using it when my baby was around 2 weeks old, whenever I wasn’t home. A few weeks before my maternity leave ended, I bought the PA Natural Response bottle because I liked its feature where the milk only flows when the baby actively drinks, and I also liked the nipple design. My baby drinks from both. But whenever my mother-in-law is the one taking care of him, she always uses the anti-colic bottle and says that the baby doesn't like the Natural Response bottle, especially the nipple. But when I bottle-feed him myself, he drinks just fine... I’m just scared because the AC (anti-colic) bottle is quite old, and when I’m away the whole day, that’s what she keeps using — she just sterilizes it again. I don’t understand why she doesn’t want to use the other one... I don’t want to argue anymore either. My husband is quite close to his mom... I’m about to lose it on these Philips Avent bottles
Y’all, I can’t believe this is even an issue but I’m seriously so annoyed with these bottles that I’m tempted to throw them all out. Ugh. Please tell me it isn’t just me. We have the Avent Natural Response Nipples and bottles. For months now, these things have leaked. I now check the bottle every time and more often than not, the bottle is leaking and needs to be re-sealed. My husband apparently never has this issue so he (lovingly) makes fun of me for not knowing how to screw a bottle. But never in my life have I had issues with screwing a basic container ???? I’m legit confused by how this keeps happening. Like what am I doing wrong?! Does this happen to anyone else or I’m I just baby bottle deficient?!? Are Philips Avent bottles/ nipples absolute trash or am I an idiot.
First born last week, figured Philips typically knows their stuff, ran out of Formula + nipple combo as supplied by hospital so decided to try the Avent. Our newborn takes 5x longer to drink and expends 5x the effort to do so. We’ve tried these a dozen times so far but man they just seem bad. I just filled one up and tried to suck on it myself and can barely pull any liquid out at all. A 38yo man sucking on a baby bottle, and still can barely get a drop. So, is the Avent series of bottles a modern marvel that I am just not understanding? Or should I throw them all away? submitted by /u/comradequiche to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

Baby won't take bottle at Daycare
Hello everyone I'm an infant room teacher and we had a new baby start this week who is 4 months old. She is breastfed and Mom says she takes a bottle just fine at home. Unfortunately here she will not. She sees the bottle and freaks out like she's afraid of it. She cries on and off but I can't get her to take a single ounce. We've tried a variety of different bottles, Tommee Tippee, Dr Browns(both wide and narrow), Avent(Anti-colic and natural), Nuk(Simply natural and perfect match), Mam, Evenflo, and Lansinoh. Her mom isn't too concerned since she eats well at home but it breaks my heart. I'll take any advice anyone has to help this little baby. Update Dad came to pick up and admitted she is exclusively breast fed at home. She's never had a bottle before daycare. It's in the contract that a baby has to take a bottle consistently for at least a week before daycare but they lied because they needed immediate childcare. (They also lied about their 3 year old being potty trained.) My boss is giving them another week to get her successfully able to take a bottle but after that she will be dismissed. The baby is fine in the morning for the first 2 hours after drop off. But afterwards she screams until she's picked up. Thank you all for the tips. I'm trying them. submitted by /u/coralseaturtle to r/ECEProfessionals [link] [comments]

Philips Avent VS Dr. Browns anti-colic bottles - what’s your preference? My baby will be bottle fed only as I have no breasts.
I had a bilateral mastectomy years ago so I do not have breasts. My baby will be a 100% bottle baby. My mother swears by Dr. Browns but I hear they leak and the flow is too fast. I’m leaning to Philips Avent glass bottles. If you have another brand experience I’m open to hearing that too! What bottle brand(s) did your baby like most?
I am a first time mom due in 11 weeks and after going through and organizing I realized I was gifted various brands such as Dr. Browns, Advent, and Lansinoh. Being a FTM I have no preference but I'm assuming my baby will let me know what she likes? I still wanted a little consensus on what your baby liked the most and also what helped prevent gas cramps the most. My mom said Advent is good but the bottomless bottles she used for all 6 kids, they no longer make which is crazy so I just want some advice. If it matters, I will be latching and pumping. Edit: thank you mommies for replying. Seen a lot of votes for Dr Browns and Avent but still a little bit lost cause a fair amount of you like a bunch of different brands😂😂 but basically all of you have started with certain ones and changed or stayed with it depending on how your baby liked them which I assumed would be the bottom line. I did learn about some brands I never heard of before like Mam that a lot of you seem to like. Thank you guys!!
