Favorite bottles?
What’s everyone’s favorite bottles? We have a ton of Dr browns but I honestly don’t think I love them. Our baby seems to dribble more milk out with them. We have a few random other types that I will try (only a week old) such as bibs and nuk and Philips avent from the sampler boxes. Just wondering what everyone likes and if there’s any good ones I’m missing we should try? submitted by /u/Jolly-Asparagus-5815 to r/newborns [link] [comments]

Glass bottles
What glass bottles r we using. We have a few of the pigeon bottles but they r insanely expensive. We don’t want to use Phillips avent (we will if baby likes it and takes it just rather start with something better shaped). The dr browns glass bottles seem like a good option cost wise but the vent system that goes inside is plastic so that defeats the purpose of a glass bottle lol (can u remove the vent? What are the consequences?) I’m in Canada so our options r limited. Any ideas? Also the stainless steel bottles ppl talk about are even less available where I am. Also, what baby bottles do you recommend that work best with ready-to-feed formula? Thanks in advance!

found a baby bottle in my cupboard that's not mine...
today i opened a cupboard that i maybe open up once every 2 weeks to grab a mug. and i saw a lid-less baby bottle on one of the higher shelves in the cupboard. i instantly got scared because 1) i live alone 2) i don't have any children and have never owned a baby bottle! i rarely have people over and i moved in a few months ago. things i've considered that it was left by previous tenants: i put down shelf liner on all of the cupboard shelves and this was sitting right on top of the shelf liner and it was front and center on the shelf, not hiding somewhere in the back that someone who has been in my apartment left it here: the only people who have been here are my boyfriend 1 month ago and my dad helped me move in 2 months ago. neither of them recognized it. i haven't put in a maintenance request in the last 2 months that i forgot to lock my doors: highly unlikely but possible. even so, why would someone come in and leave a baby bottle on a hard-to-reach shelf? that maybe it came from my parents house and it's an old bottle from when me and my siblings were babies: the manufacturing date on the bottom of the bottle is 24/09/10 (sept 9 2010). that is far too late for my parents to have purchased it for me or one of my siblings. this is really bothering me and i know it doesn't make sense that someone would break into my apartment and leave a lid-less baby bottle. if anyone can think of any other explanations please please let me know. glass bottle recommendations
Hi all, FTM here! I've purchased the Baby Brezza Formula Pro and bottle washer and I want to know what bottles work best with it. I'm really nuts about reducing plastic as much as possible so I would like to go with a glass bottle. Please let me know your recommendations (or avoids!) I've also read that starting out you should purchase different nipple options so advice on that would be great too. This is one of the more overwhelming things to research for me for some reason! [Please note: baby is being born via surrogacy because of health issues so no milk is coming from these boobies - she will be 100% formula-fed so no anti-formula suggestions pls! That's my only option] submitted by /u/dagworthy to r/Buyingforbaby [link] [comments]

Never buy glass baby bottles
I just poured milk from my pump into a glass Dr Brown bottle and then saw it’s chipped at the top. I have no idea when it got chipped. Now I’m terrified that there could’ve been tiny glass shards in my baby’s milk. I don’t know what to do. She seems fine and I’m throwing out all the milk from today and yesterday except for one bottle that I know for sure didn’t come in contact with the broken bottle. What would you do in this situation? Adding in this is the second glass bottle to have broken easily. We tried the switch to them because of microplastics but honestly they’ve been a dangerous nightmare. I don’t recommend them to any parent! submitted by /u/CPMarketing to r/ExclusivelyPumping [link] [comments]

The vet says that my kitten being a “bottle baby” is why she is such a terror… is this a thing?
I took in a kitten 5 weeks ago from a friend of a friend who found her underneath their car, seemingly alone and abandoned. This friend-of-friend happened to be a vet tech and they bottle fed her, dewormed her, and then she ended up with me (I had been wanting a cat for years). I love her more than anything, but I will admit she is EXTREMELY bitey and attacks relentlessly, while simultaneously being very needy and requiring of constant attention. She has a lot of spirit and I adore her, I am working with her on the biting. I took her to the vet this week for her first checkup, and the vet said that all “bottle babies” behave this way. I’ve never heard that before, is that a real thing? If so, why? And while I’m here any tips on working with her on it? Her name is Ripley, by the way… I am a fan of the Aliens movies lol. She has Sigourney Weaver energy… submitted by /u/mandsep to r/cats [link] [comments]

TIL About the "murder bottle". Many Victorian mothers would use a self feeding bottle to give their babies milk instead of breastfeeding. These bottles were made of earthenware & glass & were incredibly hard to clean which caused severe bacteria build up & caused the deaths of thousands of babies.
